BJP’s prolific minister Smriti Iraani has not forgotten her show biz connection. She was never spotted with any movie celebrity ever since she joined politics. Her tight scheduled gave Iraani no chance to meet her colleagues from TV industry and acclaimed TV producer Ekta Kapoor was the last person to talk about Iraani.
But, everyone was surprised when Smriti Iraani was seen attending the Ekta’s famous Diwali party on the eve of the festival. Donning a bright colour saree, Smriti attended the party was seen posing for the shutterbugs with Ekta.
Smriti’s career was launched by Ekta’s super hit show Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She played the traditional Indian bahu Tulsi, in the show, and was soon touted as the face of Indian women. Smriti had made an exit from the show after a fallout with Ekta, as she was replaced by Gautami Kapoor.
Even after Smriti had became the minister, Ekta had refrained from speaking about her rise in politics. After holding the portfolio of HRD Minister and later working as Textile Minister, this was one of Smriti’s rare appearance at a party largely dominated by showbiz celebrities. Ekta’s party was attended by famous TV personalities including Vidya Balan, who too started her career with Ekta’s show Hum Paanch.
