Mayawati On Religious Conversion

Unfair To Create Ruckus On Religious Conversion: Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Sunday launched an attack on the politics being played in the country in the name of religion.

“It is unfair and worrying to create ruckus across the country regarding ‘change of religion.’ Forcibly everything is bad and changing and getting religion changed with bad intentions, both are wrong. Therefore, it is necessary to see and understand this issue from the right perspective. Due to the fundamentalist politics being done regarding this, the country gains less and loses more,” tweeted Mayawati.
Extending her greetings to the countrymen on Christmas, Mayawati expressed hope for peace and harmony among people of all religions.

She took to Twitter and said, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the countrymen and especially to all the brothers and sisters who follow the Christian religion on the occasion of Christmas.”

The BSP leader also said, “Under our secular constitution, like people of all other religions in the country, these people should also live their lives with happiness, peace, and happiness, this is my wish.”

Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation on the occasion of Christmas on Sunday.

Extending his greetings to the citizens on the occasion of Christmas, PM Modi expressed hope for further harmony and Joy.

India Economy In 2022 Modi

India Has Become 5th Largest Economy In 2022: Modi In Mann Ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the last Mann Ki Baat of the year 2022 and said that this year, the country had become the world’s fifth-largest economy.

“The year 2022 was wonderful, India completed 75 years of Independence while ‘Amrit Kaal’ began. India progressed rapidly and became the world’s fifth-largest economy, and achieved the unbelievable record of 220 crore vaccines and crossed the USD 400 billion mark in exports,” PM Modi said in the 96th edition of Mann Ki Baat, a monthly radio programme of the Prime Minister.
He also talked about the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative of the government and lauded the launch of INS Vikrant.

The commissioning of India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier is a momentous occasion during the ‘Amritkaal’ of India’s 75 years of independence and signifies the country’s confidence and prowess.

This indigenous aircraft carrier is proof of the country’s technical acumen and engineering skills. This demonstration of India’s self-sufficiency to produce an aircraft carrier warship will reinforce the country’s defence indigenisation programmes and the ‘Make in India’ campaign.

INS Vikrant, built at a cost of around Rs 20,000 crore, successfully completed its fourth and final phase of sea trials last month. With the construction of ‘Vikrant’, India has joined a select group of nations having the niche capability to indigenously design and build an aircraft carrier.

The ship has over 2,300 compartments, designed for a crew of around 1,700 people, including specialised cabins to accommodate women officers.

INS Vikrant has a top speed of around 28 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots with an endurance of about 7,500 nautical miles. The aircraft carrier is 262 metres long, and 62 metres wide and it has a height of 59 metres. Its keel was laid in 2009.

Further in the address, he also underscored the country’s responsibility for chairing the G20 summit this year.

“This year, India has also got the prestigious responsibility of chairing the G20 group. I had also discussed this in detail last time,” he said.

G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation representing around 85 per cent of the global GDP, over 75 per cent of the worldwide trade, and about two-thirds of the world population.

On December 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s agenda for the G20 will be inclusive, ambitious, and action-oriented. In his blog post, PM Modi said India will work to promote a universal sense of oneness and its priorities will be shaped not only in consultation with G20 partners but also with the Global South.

He underlined that the great challenges of today like climate change, terrorism, and pandemics, cannot be solved by fighting each other but by acting together. “India’s G20 agenda will be inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive,” he wrote.

Citing the theme – ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, PM Modi said India’s G20 Presidency will work to promote this universal sense of one-ness. “This is not just a slogan. It takes into account recent changes in human circumstances, which we have collectively failed to appreciate,” he said.

Writing for the think tank South-South Research Initiative (SSRI), Farjana Sharmin noted India finally got the opportunity to execute its global vision and grand strategy, and secondly, the South Asian region is going to get benefits through India’s leadership in G-20.

PM Modi also extended his greetings on the occasion of Christmas.

He said: “Today is the day to remember the teachings of Jesus Christ. The festival of Christmas is being celebrated with great fervour all across the world. I extend my heartful greetings to everyone.”

On December 13, PM Modi invited people to share their inputs for this episode of Mann ki Baat and urged them to write on the NaMo App, and MyGov app or record their messages on 1800-11-7800.

Sharing MyGov’s invitation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “2022’s last #MannKiBaat will take place on the 25th of this month. I am eager to receive your input on the programme. I urge you to write on the NaMo App, MyGov or record your message on 1800-11-7800.” (ANI)

Post-Mortem Specify ‘Hanging’ As Cause Of Tunisha’s Death: Police

The Mumbai Police on Sunday said that the post-mortem reports of the deceased Tunisha Sharma have specified ‘hanging’ as the cause of death.

“Tunisha Sharma used to work as an actress in a TV show. Tunisha Sharma and Sheezan Khan had a love affair. They had a breakup 15 days ago after which she died by suicide on the sets of her show,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Chandrakant Jadhav said during a press conference here.
The ACP further said: “Tunisha’s mother had filed a complaint and accused Sheezan was arrested and later produced in the court which sent him to four-days judicial custody. The post-mortem report clearly specifies the cause of death of Tunisha as hanging.”

A case of abetment to suicide was registered against Sheezan under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code after his ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul’ co-star, Tunisha, was found dead on the show’s sets.

He was taken by the officials from Waliv police station to the Vasai court on Sunday.

At the court, Sheezan’s lawyer, Sharad Rai, spoke to the media and said, “Whatever has happened, police and court are working. He (Sheezan Khan) has been produced in court. Allegations against him are baseless.”

Adding that the investigation into the matter is underway, ACP Jadhav further clarified of no other angle of love jihad or blackmailing so far.

“As of now, the investigation is underway. Accused Sheezan’s and the deceased’s phones have been seized. There is no angle of any other affair, blackmailing or ‘Love Jihad’ as of now,” the ACP said.

Tunisha, who also appeared in Bollywood movies including ‘Fitoor’, ‘Baar Baar Dekho’, ‘Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh’, and ‘Dabangg 3’, was found dead on the sets of a TV serial.

According to Waliv Police, they received information that after the tea break, the actress went to the toilet and when she did not come back, the police broke the door open and found that she had hanged herself.

No suicide note was recovered at the spot by police.

Police have said the reason behind Tunisha’s alleged extreme step that ended her life could be her breakup with Sheezan over a fortnight back.

Tunisha’s mortal remains were brought to the JJ Hospital, Naigaon at around 1:30 am on Sunday where her post-mortem was conducted. (ANI)

Rahul's Appeal on conviction

Hindu-Muslim Done To Divert Attention: Rahul From Red Fort

Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Centre, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said Hindu-Muslim is being done to divert attention from the real issues.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s mass contacting campaign, Bharat Jodo Yatra, entered the national capital on Saturday. The party held a mega public rally in front of Red Fort.
Speaking from Red Fort, Rahul Gandhi said, “It is not Narendra Modi’s government. It is Ambani and Adani government. Hindu-Muslim is being done to divert attention from the real issues. Today degree holder youths are selling ‘pakoras’.”

Referring to Bhagwad Gita and Upanishads, he said nowhere in the Hindu texts it is written to oppress the poor.

“In Bharat Jodo Yatra, dogs also came but no one harmed them. Cow, buffaloes, pigs, all animals came. This Yatra is like our India, I have not seen any hatred or violence among people while walking 2,800 km, and I have not seen violence or hatred anywhere in the country. But when I turn on the TV, there is hatred all the time,” said the Wayanad MP.

Speaking from Red Fort, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said BJP feared the Bharat Jodo Yatra and wanted to stop the march giving the excuse of COVID.

“BJP is in fear due to Bharat Jodo Yatra and is taking the excuse of COVID. There is no COVID anywhere. Nothing happened to anyone. PM Modi himself does not wear a mask. All this is being done to create fear and break this Yatra,” Kharge said.

Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan also joined Bharat Jodo Yatra on Saturday.

Speaking from the Red Fort, Kamal Haasan said, “Many people ask me why I am here. I am here as an Indian. My father was a Congressman. I had various ideologies and started my own political party. But when it comes to the country, all political party lines have to blur. I blurred that line and came here. I stood in front of the mirror and said to myself – this is the time when the country needs me the most. Then a voice came from inside me – ‘Kamal… do not help break India, help unite.”

Bharat Jodo Yatra entered the national capital on Saturday morning. Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi joined the yatra for the first time since it started on September 7. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and her husband Robert Vadra also joined. This will be the last day of the yatra in this phase as it goes a nine-day break till next year.

The foot march entered Delhi from Haryana after starting from NHPC metro station, Faridabad around 6 am.

The Yatra also visited Rajghat and paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Several MPs of different parties accompanied Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra today.

Asked about the MPs joining Bharat Jodo, Jairam Ramesh told ANI that all the party leaders were invited to join the Yatra.

“We have invited all the party leaders to join Bharat Jodo. Whoever wants to come, Nitin Gadkari wants to come, he is also welcome, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also wants to come, and he is also welcome. (Former Vice) President Venkaiah Naidu and (former President) Ram Nath Kovind are also welcome,” he said.

Jairam Ramesh also divulged that the party is mulling starting another mass contacting campaign, ‘Haath se Haath Jodo’ from January 26.

“After this, the party will start a ‘Haath se Haath Jodo’ campaign from January 26 to March 26, which will convey the message of the Bharat Jodo Yatra to every booth and every block and the success the yatra earned in the 108 days will also be spread to every booth and block during it,” Congress leader told ANI.

The Centre has issued cautionary notes to Bharat Jodo Yatra amid the growing concerns over rising COVID cases in several countries including neighbouring China.

Earlier on Friday, Delhi Police issued a travel advisory, informing residents about route changes and traffic diversions to cater to Bharat Jodo Yatra’s Delhi leg.

“In view of the Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Indian National Congress in Delhi on December 24, 2022, traffic has been changed on various routes. Citizens are requested to avoid the affected roads and make maximum use of public transport,” the Delhi Traffic Police said.

So far, the yatra, which started from Kanyakumari on September 7, has covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra and Haryana.

It is the longest march on foot by any Indian politician in the history of India, the Congress has claimed.

With this yatra, Rahul Gandhi aims to mobilise the party cadre and unite the general public against the BJP’s “divisive politics in the country”. (ANI)
