BJP Protests Against WB Govt Over Spike In Dengue Cases

West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari slammed the Mamata Banerjee-led government over a spike in Dengue cases on Tuesday and said that Health Minister doesn’t come to the House (Assembly).

Amid rising cases of Dengue in West Bengal, BJP leaders protested against the state government today by taking out a march. The BJP leaders were wrapped in a mosquito net and carried mosquito models with them as a mark of protest.
While talking to the media persons in Kolkata, Suvendu Adhikari said, “Health Minister doesn’t come to the House (Assembly). No discussion takes place over Health and Home Departments, they don’t take questions.”

Earlier on November 7, Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Adhikari had written a letter to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya over the surge of dengue cases in the state and urged the Centre to send a ‘Team of Doctors to guide the State Govt and provide relief to the people. “I am writing you this letter as the State of West Bengal is in the midst of a Health Emergency,” the letter said.

Taking to Twitter Suvendu Adhikari said, “Dengue situation in West Bengal has spiraled out of control due to the inefficient West Bengal government. I have written a letter to Hon’ble Union Health Minister; Mansukh Mandaviya to send a Central Team of Doctors & Public Health Experts to guide the State Govt & provide relief to the people.”

Pointing to the alarming situation of dengue in the state, Suvendu Adhikari in his letter wrote, “At a time when you are choking in the national capital, the people of West Bengal are tormented by mosquitos. Dengue has taken West Bengal in its grip for the past three months, with the cases on the rise in several parts of the state. The worst affected areas are Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, Murshidabad, Hooghly & Howrah.”

Amid the worsening of the situation, West Bengal on October 28 reported garbage littered on roads in Kolkata, which raised concern as the city was already grappling with the outbreak of dengue.

The garbage was found littered open on New Town and Salt Lake streets.

As a result, the citizens are keeping the doors and windows of their houses closed in disgust over the rotten stench of garbage and in fear of dengue-causing mosquitoes entering their houses.

According to locals, despite repeated pleas by the government and doctors to keep the neighbourhood clean to fight dengue, these places are littered with garbage.

Notably, Suvendu Adhikari in his letter drew Union Minister Mandviya’s attention to the dengue cases, recorded the highest this year in the 43rd week since 2017.

Hitting out at the Mamta Banerjee-ruled West Bengal government for running out of funds to control the ungovernable dengue situation in the state, BJP MLA had said, “This year the Dengue situation has gone out of control in West Bengal, as because the financially bankrupt State Government could not provide funds in time for the precautionary measures. Let me reiterate it; the West Bengal Health Department did not have adequate funds, which led to the rise in cases as the measures which were needed to be taken, months earlier, to control the breeding of ‘Aedes Aegypti’ mosquitoes were not carried out properly due to the lack of funds.” (ANI)

Gujarat congress MLA Joins BJP

Denied A Ticket, Former Gujarat Cong MLA Joins BJP

Former Gujarat Congress MLA from the Dehgam constituency, Kamini Baa Rathore, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday.

Miffed over being denied a ticket by the party to contest the upcoming Assembly elections, Kamini Baa had recently resigned from the Congress.
She later entered the fray as an Independent candidate but later withdrew her nomination as it became clear that she was about to join the saffron camp.

Polling for 182 Assembly constituencies in the state would be held in two phases on December 1 and 5 while the counting of votes will take place on December 8.

Speaking to reporters after joining the BJP, Kamini Baa said, “Voices of wise and experienced leaders are being suppressed in the Congress. The same happened with me. An attempt was made to suppress a woman’s voice. I joined the BJP as it believes in giving every single worker a voice and working unitedly.”

Eighty-nine of the total 182 Assembly seats will go to polls in the first phase on December 1.

The BJP has been in power in Gujarat for the last 27 years and is eyeing a fresh term at the helm this year.

However, it faces a stiff challenge from the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is determined to make electoral inroads in Gujarat after its spectacular Assembly poll wins in Punjab.

The Congress, too, is in the race in the hope of unseating the BJP from power. (ANI)

big khela in West Bengal

Big Khela In WB, TMC May Not Survive In December: BJP MLA

Stating that there will be a ‘big khela’ in West Bengal, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Agnimitra Paul on Tuesday claimed that the Trinamool Congress-led state government would not survive after December this year.

The leader further claimed that over 30 MLAs of the ruling TMC are in touch with the BJP and that the Mamata Banerjee-led government’s “existence is at stake”.
“There will be a ‘khela’ here in December. More than 30 TMC MLAs are in contact with our party. They know that their Govt will not continue for long after December. Their existence is at stake,” Paul told ANI.

The BJP leader also claimed that West Bengal is moving towards a “financial emergency” while accusing Mamata of running a “bankrupt government”.

“We will not tell the strategy, but something will happen. Our leadership is repeatedly claiming that there will be a big khela in December. We are moving towards a financial emergency. It is a bankrupt government. They do not have money. How would they work? 50 per cent of those running the state are in jail. The rest 50 per cent will also go to jail. Who will run the government?” she said.

The BJP leader’s remarks come weeks after the party’s state president Sukanta Majumdar claimed in September that Mamata would be arrested and that over 40 TMC leaders were in touch with the BJP.

He had further gone on to claim that the TMC government will fall in December.

“Mamata Banerjee may be arrested by December. 41 TMC people’s names are with top leadership. The government will fall in December,” Majumdar had claimed.

Similar claims were also made by BJP leader and film star Mithun Chakraborty who had claimed to be in touch with TMC MLAs.

“I am in touch with 21 MLAs of Mamata Banerjee’s party, I said this earlier, and again, I stand by my point. I request you just wait for the time,” added Mithun Chakraborty.

Earlier, the Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari said that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) won’t last even for the next six months in the state.

His remarks came after the ruling party put up posters claiming that a “new and reformed TMC” come in the next six months.

“Enforcement Directorate(ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are doing their job. This party (TMC) will not last for even six months, December is their deadline,” LoP Suvendu Adhikari had said in Purba Medinipur. (ANI)

Raut Praises Rahul gandhi

Raut Praises RaGa Amid Savarkar Row

After differences emerged between Rahul Gandhi and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena faction over the Congress leader’s comment on Veer Savarkar, Sanjay Raut appreciated Wayanad MP for enquiring about his health during the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Terming it an act of “humanity”, Sanjay Raut said, “Rahul Gandhi called and checked on me yesterday despite his busy schedule amid Bharat Jodo Yatra. He said we were concerned about your well-being and said take care, we will work together again.”
Sanjay Raut appreciated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s act and said that such gestures are rare in times of political bitterness.

“I appreciate his empathy of feeling the pain of a political colleague who has spent 110 days in jail. In d times of political bitterness, such gestures are becoming rare. Rahulji is focusing on love and compassion in his yatra and is getting massive support,” he tweeted.

Sanjay Raut said that Rahul Gandhi is one such person who stays connected as friends.

“Rahul Gandhi is one such person who stays connected as friends against ideological and political differences. I have friends in BJP as well but they were happy when I was in jail, this is politics of the Mughal era,” he said.

Earlier on Thursday, while addressing a press conference in Maharashtra on the sidelines of his ongoing ‘Bhaat Jodo Yatra’, Rahul Gandhi, reading from a letter purportedly written by Savarkar to the British, claimed the saffron ideologue betrayed leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel by signing on a letter of apology to the British before independence.

“Veer Savarkar wrote to the British saying, ‘Sir, I beg to remain your most obedient servant’, and signed on it. Savarkar helped the British. He betrayed leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Patel by signing this letter out of fear,” he had said.

Rahul’s remarks on Thursday drew a huge backlash, with a complaint being registered against Rahul at Thane Nagar police station.

Sanjay Raut had said Congress leaders in Maharashtra won’t support Rahul Gandhi’s comments on Savarkar. “Coming to Maharashtra and saying things about Savarkar won’t be accepted. Congress leaders won’t support him. Bharat Jodo Yatra is against dictatorship and issues like unemployment, and inflation and Congress is getting support,” Sanjay Raut said.

“Giving such a statement can cause strife in MVA. We believe in Veer Savarkar and we want to ask the fake Hinduvaadi that we are demanding Bharat Ratna for Veer Savarkar for 10 years. Even though BJP is in power, why are they not fulfilling our demands?” Sanjay Raut had asked.

The remark had drawn outrage from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with the party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra claiming that the statement was consistent with the Congress’ habit of insulting national icons such as Subhas Chandra Bose and Sardar Patel. (ANI)

Narendra Modi on Gujrat Polls

Polls To Decide Gujarat Fate In Next 25 Years: Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the Assembly elections in Gujarat will determine where the state will be in the next 25 years.

Addressing a public rally in the Botad district of Gujarat on Sunday, the PM said it was for voters to shape the destiny of the state in the coming years.

Exhorting people to vote the BJP back to power in the western state, the PM, during his 30-minute-long speech in his native tongue, Gujarati, said, “This election is not only for the next five years, it will determine what Gujarat looks like in the next 25 years.”

The PM’s visit to the Botad district was part of a jam-packed campaign schedule on Sunday.

However, he did visit the Somnath temple earlier on Sunday and offered prayers.

Later, at a separate public rally at Dhorarji, the Prime Minister took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his image with social activist Medha Patkar on the sidelines of the Maharashtra leg of the ongoing ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.

Without naming Rahul, the PM said, “You would have seen a picture published in the newspaper of a Congress leader standing with those who oppose the Narmada Project. You should ask them with what face are they coming to seek votes from you. They did everything to stall the Narmada project for decades together and ensured that no money, including from the World Bank, came to Gujarat. They maligned the image of Gujarat.”

He said the matter eventually went to court and the woman, who spearheaded the movement against the Narmada project, was pictured along with the Congress leader.

“This shows that you (Rahul) are only working to destoy Gujarat,” PM Modi said at Dhoraji.

The Assmeboy polls in Gujarat will be conducted in two phases, on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will take place, along with those of Himachal Pradesh, on December 8.

The state has been a BJP stronghold for long and the party has set its sights on returning to power with a handsome majority this time as well.

However, it faces a stiff electoral challenge from the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has named Isudan Gadhvi as its chief ministerial candidate.

Congress is also hoping to put its best electoral foot forward to unseat the BJP government. (ANI)

BJP Congress Nadda

Came Out Not To Unite India, But Break It: Nadda To RaGa

Lashing out at Rahul Gandhi over his remarks against VD Savarkar, BJP national president JP Nadda on Friday said that the Congress leader is out on the road doing Bharat Jodo Yatra to “not to unite India, but to break it”.

“Just yesterday, Rahul Gandhi gave a condemnable statement against freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. This shows what their thinking is, they have not come out to unite India, they have come out to break it,” Nadda said while addressing an election rally in Gujarat’s Surat.
He further accused Gandhi of standing with those who protested against the hanging of Afzal Guru, who was the mastermind of the Parliament attack, on the Jawaharlal Nehru University premises in 2016.

“Development is associated with us. Congress always works to break the country. Rahul Gandhi even went to Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University and stood with those who protested against the hanging of Afzal Guru, mastermind of the Parliament attack,” he alleged.

Nadda alleged that all the parties in the country did vote bank politics and worked to divide the people of the country into castes and religions, while only the BJP worked on the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas”.

Further slamming Congress over their stand on the Jan Dhan Account, Nadda said that the party made fun of the move by the Centre, but today nearly 47 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened.

“Congress was making fun of us when BJP was opening “Jan Dhan Account”. But today 47 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened. After the account was opened, Modi ji made direct transfers of 500-500 hundred rupees for 3 months to the accounts of 20 crore women during Corona,” he said.

Comparing the developmental work done by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and PM Modi in the medical sector, the BJP chief said that the former had opened only 1 AIIMS while the latter has opened 15 AIIMS in the country.

“In 1960, Jawaharlal Nehru made only 1 AIIMS in the country. Atal ji made 6 AIIMS and today Modi ji made 15 AIIMS. 200 new medical colleges have opened. New dimensions of development are being written,” he said.

The Assembly elections in Gujarat will be held on December 1 and 5, and the counting of votes will take place on December 8. (ANI)

Gujarat Polls: BJP's Alpesh Thakor

Gujarat Polls: BJP’s Alpesh Thakor Files Nomination

BJP leader Alpesh Thakor on Thursday filed his nomination from Gandhinagar South Assembly constituency in the “Abhijit Muhurat” (auspicious period).

According to sources, the timing of Thakor’s nomination was set as per ‘Abhijit Muhurat’, an auspicious muhurat calculated to bring good results.
Since the word ‘Abhijit’, itself, means ‘victorious’, any activity initiated during the “Abhijit Muhurta” is believed to go well and even bring victories. It is the ideal muhurat (time as per the stars) to initiate any activity, as per astrological beliefs.

Thakor filed his nomination papers in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

On the triangular fight in Gujarat, Thakor said, “We have no challengers. The Congress does not have any issue to fight the polls on. They only indulge in caste politics.”

After the nomination, Thakor told ANI, “The people of Gujarat are with us. They believe and have trust in BJP. We are working on protection and development in Gujarat. I am sure that the south Gandhinagar people have faith in me.”

On what he would do for the people of his constituency, if elected, Thakor, who is the BJP’s Other Backward Class (OBC) face in the state polls, said, “We will work to take all welfare schemes of the central government and their benefits to the OBCs.”

BJP has fielded Lavingji Thakor from Radhanpur while VJ Jhala has been given the ticket from Himatnagar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been Gujarat’s longest-serving chief minister from 2001 to 2014, is the top campaigner for the BJP ahead of the December 1 and 5 Assembly polls.

Gujarat has been a BJP stronghold for a long period and the party has set its sights on returning to power with a handsome majority this time as well.

However, it faces a stiff electoral challenge from the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has named Isudan Gadhvi as its chief ministerial candidate.

Congress is also hoping to put its best electoral foot forward to unseat the BJP government.

Nitin Jairam Gadkari BJP in Bengal

BJP Will Not Do Politics In Name Of Development In Bengal: Gadkari

Union Minister of Road and Transport Nitin Jairam Gadkari on Thursday said that BJP will not do any politics in the name of development in West Bengal.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that the Centre is not giving the funds to her state recently.
Speaking with the media, he said, “West Bengal is also a part of the nation. We never think about any party’s name while making any development plans. It does not matter which party the MPs or MLAs belong to. Today, we have announced Rs. 1,600 crores for Bengal for several projects and are trying to achieve Prime Minister’s target “sabka sath, sabka bikash or sabka vikash”. Our Prime Minister, my department, and the government are always ready for development. Money does not matter,” he said.

Gadkari further said, “We are getting help from concerned bodies and always keep in with them. We need to work together for the people of our nation. We will sit to review the ongoing projects in Bengal and request Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Chief Secretary to share plans with the National Highway (NH) authorities and in case of a problem, the Centre and State will sit together to resolve the issue.

Nitin Gadkari came to Siliguri to lay the foundation stone for an elevated 12.1 km stretch road connecting Balason in Shivmandir to Sevoke Army cantonment in Siliguri. Around 1,000 crores have been allotted for the project, which would be completed within 300 days. Addressing the people, he declared an 80 km long “Ringroad” for Siliguri and allocated Rs 3,000 crore. (ANI)
