Rahul Yatra Reaches Dhanbad

RSS-BJP Want To Spread Hatred In Society: Rahul

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are spreading hatred in society by making each religion, caste or language turn against another so that they can distract the people.

“BJP-RSS are spreading hatred and violence in society by making one religion fight against another, one caste against another and one language against another, so that they can distract you. They aim to snatch your wealth and keep it with them,” the Congress MP said.

Rahul Gandhi resumed the second leg of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam by re-entering the state from the Rajgarh-Hollongi (Assam-Arunachal Pradesh) border on Sunday, the eighth day of his journey.

Highlighting issues of unemployment and farmers not getting right prices for their crops, Rahul Gandhi said, “We met lakhs of people in ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. The youth raised issues of unemployment and farmers told us about not getting right prices for their crops. Now to hear your voice once again, we have started the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’.”

“The youths here spend lakhs of rupees to go to school and college, but then come to know that they cannot get employment in Assam. Farmers do not get the right price for their crops, small shopkeepers were ruined due to demonetization and GST. The entire government of the country is run for selected industrialists,” he added.

Hitting out at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Rahul Gandhi alleged, “Who is the most corrupt Chief Minister of India? The people of Assam and the entire country know that the answer is Himanta Biswa Sarma.”

“Those who are threatening us should know that this is not the journey of Rahul Gandhi, it is the journey of the people of Assam. Rahul Gandhi and the people of Assam are not afraid of the Chief Minister, they can do whatever they want,” he added.

The Yatra re-entered Assam on Sunday after spending a night in Arunachal Pradesh. The first leg of the journey in Assam was from Thursday to Saturday afternoon, after which it crossed over to Arunachal Pradesh.

The Congress leader met with an all-party delegation over a cup of tea during the Yatra in Assam’s Rajgarh.

Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by offering flowers on his statue during the Yatra. He also paid tributes to the statues of freedom fighters Swahid Kanaklata and Mukund Kakati.

The police stopped the convoy of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra for some time in Assam’s Biswanath district on Sunday. However, after a discussion between the police and party workers, the Yatra resumed.

Earlier on Saturday, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is making all efforts to prevent the party’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra program in Guwahati.

“On January 23, as per our schedule, we will be staying at Guwahati. We are trying our best to carry on with our Yatra as planned. Assam Chief Minister is trying his best not to allow our event in Guwahati. Several obstacles are being posed in front of us…We have written two letters to the Chief Minister,” Jairam Ramesh said speaking at a press conference at Assam’s Lakhimpur on Saturday along with Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhupen Kumar Borah.

On the party’s efforts to clear the way ahead of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’s scheduled plan at Guwahati on Tuesday, Ramesh said, “Our Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia has gone to Guwahati for ongoing talks with the police and the Chief Minister’s office about our program on January 23…Rahul Gandhi will interact with youths, about unemployment and the education system in Guwahati and will address a press conference.” (ANI)

Ayodhya Pran Pratishtha

Ayodhya Poised To Create History With Pran Pratishtha Event

With the much-anticipated ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla on Monday, Ayodhya is set to make history.

The ‘Pran Pratistha’ of Ram Lalla is scheduled on Paush Shukla Kurma Dwadashi, Vikram Samvat 2080, which falls on Monday, January 22.

The ceremonial journey leading up to the Pran Pratishtha included a seven-day ritual that commenced on January 16, 2024, Tuesday, following the classical traditions.

On January 16, the atonement ceremony, featuring a ‘purifying bath’ in the river Sarayu, was done by Anil Mishra, one of the trustees of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

The rituals included worship of Lord Vishnu, offering Panchgavya and ghee, along with Panchgavyaprashan. A ‘Karmakuti Homa’ was conducted to mark the ‘Dashdaan’. The atonement ceremony was graced by Laxmikant Dixit, chief Acharya in charge of Pran Pratishtha.

The recitation of Valmiki Ramayana and Bhusundiramayana commenced in the run-up to the grand day and also began during the atonement ceremony.

On day 2, January 17, the events started with a ‘Jalayatra’, a procession carrying the idol of Ram Lalla via the river Sarayu in a Mangal Kalash to the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.

The third day began with Ganeshambika puja followed by around 15 different rituals including Varun puja, Chaturvedokta Punyahvachan, Vastu puja and Nandishraddha.

Day 4 started with Ganpati puja. The establishing of ‘agni’ manifested through ‘Arnimanthan’ in the ‘Navkunds’ was conducted among other pujas. A ‘havan’ was also performed along with a recitation of ‘Veda’ and Ramayana.

Rituals with sugar and fruits, along with daily prayers and Havan were carried out on the fifth day.

Day 6 will witness Havan and daily worship of the established deities and the divine bathing of the idol with sacred water from 114 Kalash and eventually laid to rest ahead of the grand Pran Pratishtha.

The final day will start with a morning puja followed by the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in ‘Mrigashira Nakshatra’, which is expected to start around 12.30 pm and end at 1 pm.

The intricate process involves 121 Acharyas overseeing the ceremony, with Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid as the chief coordinator and Laxmikant Dixit of Kashi as the Chief Acharya.

Seven adhivas will contribute to the spiritual sanctification, as per the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

The ceremony will witness the esteemed presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat, Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, among other dignitaries.

Over 150 traditions and more than 50 tribal communities will converge at the Shri Ram Temple, creating a unique and diverse assembly.

This marks a historic moment with the participation of residents from mountains, forests, coastal areas, islands, and more.

The event transcends religious boundaries, bringing together followers of Shaiva, Vaishnav, Shakta, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and various other traditions. A true amalgamation of diverse cultural and spiritual practices, the Kshetra trust mentioned.

Post the Pran Pratistha program, dignitaries will be granted darshan, spreading a sense of enthusiasm not only in Ayodhya but across the country.

The ceremony has garnered attention with people contributing gifts from different states, including water, soil, gold, silver, gems, clothes, jewellery, huge bells, drums, and aroma/fragrance items,

The most notable among them were the Bhaars (gifts sent at the time of setting up a daughter’s house) sent from Goddess Sita’s maternal homes at Janakpur in Nepal and Sitamarhi in Bihar, symbolizing a connection across borders, and a resolution to celebrate this divine consecration with fervour across the nation.

Earlier, on Friday, January 19, the idol of Shri Ram Lalla, carved by renowned Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, was placed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

Covered with a veil, the first photo of the idol was revealed during the placement ceremony in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday.

Several purported images of the idol, with the eyes uncovered, went viral on social media platforms.

However, Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple, claimed the viral images were not of real idols.

“As per our beliefs, the eyes of the idol cannot be revealed before the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ is completed. The images showing the eyes are not of the real idol. All procedures and rituals will be conducted as per our scriptures and beliefs. The eyes of Ram Lalla will not be revealed till the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ has been done,” the seer said. (ANI)

Indo-Myanmar Border To Be Fenced To Curb Influx Of Illegal Migrants, Insurgents: Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that the Indo-Myanmar border will be fenced like the Indo-Bangladesh border to curb the influx of illegal migrants and insurgents.

Addressing the passing out parade ceremony of Assam Police Commandos, Shah said, ” Indo-Myanmar border is to be fenced like the Indo-Bangladesh border. The Centre, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has decided to fence the Indo-Myanmar border to curb the influx of illegal migrants and insurgents.”

“We are also thinking of ending the free-movement facility with Myanmar,” Shah added.

Shah applauded the Assam Police for fighting against different issues including infiltration and drug smuggling.

“Assam has always been affected by infiltration issues that have been going on for 10 decades, Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, drug smuggling, etc., but Assam Police has a glorious history of fighting and winning against these issues,” he said.

The Union Minister also launched a scathing attack on the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and said that people who lost their family members due to insurgency in Congress rule are opposing the yatra.

“Rahul Gandhi has launched Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra recently, I asked a few media personnel here today, what happened in Assam. During Congress rule, thousands of youths lost their lives, extremism prevailed in Assam. The family members of those people who lost lives during Congress rule objected to Congress Yatra and demanded justice,” Shah said.

Meanwhile, the 1,643-km-long India-Myanmar border, spanning Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh, currently operates under the Free Movement Regime (FMR), permits individuals living near the India-Myanmar border to travel 16 km into each other’s territories without a visa. Initiated in 2018, the FMR policy was a component of India’s Act East policy.

As per FMR policy, those belonging to the hill tribes, being citizens of either India or Myanmar and residing within a 16 km radius on either side of the border, can cross with a border pass valid for one year, allowing a stay of up to two weeks per visit.

Allegations claim that following the military coup in Myanmar on February 1, 2021, a considerable number of Myanmar’s tribal population crossed into India, particularly Manipur and Mizoram, and remained illegally. It’s alleged that these individuals sought refuge on Indian territory and subsequently engaged in unlawful activities, notably drug smuggling.

In September 2023, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh appealed to the Centre to terminate the FMR. The state government contends that insurgents exploit this regime to advance their activities.

Manipur shares approximately 390 km of a porous border with Myanmar, with only about 10 km fenced as of now. In July last year, the state government disclosed data indicating that approximately 700 illegal immigrants had entered the state.

Additionally, following the military coup in Myanmar on February 1, 2021, Mizoram has witnessed an influx of thousands of anti-Junta rebels. Government estimates suggest that several thousand refugees have settled in various parts of Mizoram since the coup.

Mizoram has a porous border spanning 510 kilometres with Myanmar.

The Manipur Chief Minister mentioned incidents where individuals from Myanmar attempted to enter his state but retreated upon encountering a substantial presence of security personnel. Manipur shares a 398-kilometer border with Myanmar.

Arunachal Pradesh shares a 520-kilometer border with Myanmar, whereas Nagaland’s border with the country spans 215 kilometres. (ANI)

The party’s top office-bearers will go over the voters’ lists across states and enable people to volunteer as brand ambassadors of a developed India through the ‘NaMo’ app.

They will conduct a review on the basis of votes received by the BJP in previous elections while taking stock of the number of people enlisted across villages and urban areas for central schemes such and include those not covered under them under the party’s Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

The party will also engage with local NGOs and self-help groups in this process.

BJP has also come up with some slogans for the Gaon Chalo campaign. These include ‘Ghar-Ghar phochayenge Modi ka Sandesh, Aage badega Gaau, aage badega Desh (Modi’s message will reach every home, the village will progress and will the country).

A special team will be put together for the ‘Gaon Chalo Abhiyan’.

The team will be formed by January 20 and instructions have been passed down by the top brass to get them trained by January 28.

As part of this plan, the BJP will put together such groups in every village with a population of 1000. (ANI)
