“The length of this entire screen is 69 feet and the height is 16 feet, which makes the entire floating LED screen approximately 1100 square feet,” he added.

Meanwhile, security was been beefed up in the temple town on Saturday for the Pran Praitshtha ceremony of Ram Lalla, which would be attended by nearly 8,000 VIP guests.

Posters Depicting Child Version Of Lord Ram Go Up On Entry Gate To Ayodhya

Posters Depicting Child Version Of Lord Ram Go Up On Entry Gate To Ayodhya

Posters depicting the child-version of Lord Ram adorned the entry gate to the grand Ayodhya temple on Saturday, two days ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22.

Ayodhya was abuzz with the cackle of locals and the excitement and anticipation were palpable ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ and the grand opening of the temple on Monday.

Earlier, on Friday, the idol of Shri Ram Lalla, carved by renowned Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, was placed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

Covered with a veil, the first photo of the idol was revealed during the placement ceremony in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple, said, “The eyes of the deity are hidden behind a piece of cloth as they cannot be revealed before the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony.”

However, several purported images of the idol, with the eyes uncovered, went viral on social media platforms.

However, claiming that the viral images were not of the real idol, Acharya Satyendra Das told ANI, “As per our beliefs, the eyes of the idol cannot be revealed before the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ is completed. The images showing the eyes are not of the real idol. And, if the idol in the viral images is genuine, then there should be an investigation into who revealed the eyes and leaked the pictures.”

“All procedures and rituals will be conducted as per our scriptures and beliefs. The eyes of Ram Lalla will not be revealed till the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ has been done,” the seer added.

Meanwhile, with less than 48 hours to the grand event on January 22, the Ram Nagari had a festival look about it on Saturday, with the streets, shops and buildings all lit up in myriad hues.

The city is also bedecked with petals in vibrant colours ahead of the grand ceremony.

A long line of celebrities and top dignitaries have already started streaming into the temple town ahead of January 22. The state government, meanwhile, has made elaborate security deployments and arrangements for the grand temple opening. While CCTVs have been installed across the city, drones and devices enabled with night vision are being used to step up surveillance ahead of the mega event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, which will be officiated by a complement of priests chosen from across the country.

Indo-Myanmar Border To Be Fenced To Curb Influx Of Illegal Migrants, Insurgents: Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that the Indo-Myanmar border will be fenced like the Indo-Bangladesh border to curb the influx of illegal migrants and insurgents.

Addressing the passing out parade ceremony of Assam Police Commandos, Shah said, ” Indo-Myanmar border is to be fenced like the Indo-Bangladesh border. The Centre, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has decided to fence the Indo-Myanmar border to curb the influx of illegal migrants and insurgents.”

“We are also thinking of ending the free-movement facility with Myanmar,” Shah added.

Shah applauded the Assam Police for fighting against different issues including infiltration and drug smuggling.

“Assam has always been affected by infiltration issues that have been going on for 10 decades, Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, drug smuggling, etc., but Assam Police has a glorious history of fighting and winning against these issues,” he said.

The Union Minister also launched a scathing attack on the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and said that people who lost their family members due to insurgency in Congress rule are opposing the yatra.

“Rahul Gandhi has launched Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra recently, I asked a few media personnel here today, what happened in Assam. During Congress rule, thousands of youths lost their lives, extremism prevailed in Assam. The family members of those people who lost lives during Congress rule objected to Congress Yatra and demanded justice,” Shah said.

Meanwhile, the 1,643-km-long India-Myanmar border, spanning Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh, currently operates under the Free Movement Regime (FMR), permits individuals living near the India-Myanmar border to travel 16 km into each other’s territories without a visa. Initiated in 2018, the FMR policy was a component of India’s Act East policy.

As per FMR policy, those belonging to the hill tribes, being citizens of either India or Myanmar and residing within a 16 km radius on either side of the border, can cross with a border pass valid for one year, allowing a stay of up to two weeks per visit.

Allegations claim that following the military coup in Myanmar on February 1, 2021, a considerable number of Myanmar’s tribal population crossed into India, particularly Manipur and Mizoram, and remained illegally. It’s alleged that these individuals sought refuge on Indian territory and subsequently engaged in unlawful activities, notably drug smuggling.

In September 2023, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh appealed to the Centre to terminate the FMR. The state government contends that insurgents exploit this regime to advance their activities.

Manipur shares approximately 390 km of a porous border with Myanmar, with only about 10 km fenced as of now. In July last year, the state government disclosed data indicating that approximately 700 illegal immigrants had entered the state.

Additionally, following the military coup in Myanmar on February 1, 2021, Mizoram has witnessed an influx of thousands of anti-Junta rebels. Government estimates suggest that several thousand refugees have settled in various parts of Mizoram since the coup.

Mizoram has a porous border spanning 510 kilometres with Myanmar.

The Manipur Chief Minister mentioned incidents where individuals from Myanmar attempted to enter his state but retreated upon encountering a substantial presence of security personnel. Manipur shares a 398-kilometer border with Myanmar.

Arunachal Pradesh shares a 520-kilometer border with Myanmar, whereas Nagaland’s border with the country spans 215 kilometres. (ANI)

The party will also engage with local NGOs and self-help groups in this process.

BJP has also come up with some slogans for the Gaon Chalo campaign. These include ‘Ghar-Ghar phochayenge Modi ka Sandesh, Aage badega Gaau, aage badega Desh (Modi’s message will reach every home, the village will progress and will the country).

A special team will be put together for the ‘Gaon Chalo Abhiyan’.

The team will be formed by January 20 and instructions have been passed down by the top brass to get them trained by January 28.

Shetty: My Mother Performed Stunts For Hemaji In 'Seeta Aur Geeta'

Shetty: My Mother Performed Stunts For Hemaji In ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, unquestionably among the country’s most successful commercial directors, however, is not an outsider in the film industry. While his father M B Shetty was a renowned stuntman, his mother Ratna Shetty too was in the industry acting as a stunt double for stars like Hema Malini and Vyjayanthimala.

In an interview with ANI, Shetty said both his parents were an inspiration for him.

“My mom was a stuntwoman. All the ‘Seeta aur Geeta’ stunts you see and Vyjayanthimala rolling from the staircase, it’s her. Her physique was such that,” Shetty said.

The 1972 film written by Salim-Javed and directed by Ramesh Sippy has an ensemble cast of Hema Malini (in a double role), Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Roopesh Kumar, Manorama, Satyen Kappu, Honey Irani and Pratima Devi.

Rohit Shetty recalled how his mother did a sequence in the film in which Geeta, the character played by Hema Malini, was seen sitting on a ceiling fan in the police station. “The fan sequence in ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ or in ‘Andaz”s song ‘Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana’ the top angle shots you saw… on the bike of Rajesh Khanna, that’s my mom.”

“So, it’s our family business. It’s in our DNA — breaking bones … breaking our own bones than the others,” said the 49-year-old director, whose film ‘Singham 3’ is slated for release later this year.

MB Shetty, a famous stunt director and actor of his time and Rekha Shetty had both met on the sets.

Talking about his father, he said, “He was not just a character actor, but also an action director. There was no social media… People were unaware of that. In ‘Deewaar’, the action in the godown scene, he directed that sequence. He was the one who invented the glass break…going through the glass. He used to get a lot of cuts. He was a very soft-spoken guy and very humble and down to earth as he came from a very humble background and very emotional”

As an action director he did films including ‘Don’, ‘The Great Gambler’, ‘Trishul’, ‘Deewaar’ and ‘Shalimar’. Meanwhile, Ratna Shetty also acted in films like ‘Darar’, ‘Bade Ghar Ki Beti’ and ‘Yaar Gaddaar’.

Babri Masjid Taken Away In Systematic Manner: Owaisi

Babri Masjid Taken Away In Systematic Manner: Owaisi

Raking up the title deed dispute surrounding the Ram Janmabhoomi as the nation counts down to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said the Babri Masjid was taken away from the Muslims in a ‘very systematic manner’.

After a prolonged movement involving a number of court sittings and litigations, a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court ruled the title dispute in favour of the Hindus in a landmark ruling, giving primacy to the claim that the Babri mosque was built on the ruins of a temple at Ram Janmabhoomi in the 16th century.

The apex court based its ruling on the findings of a survey by the Archaological Survey of India (ASI), determining that the mosque was raised on the ruins of a Ram temple.

However, as has been widely reported, the mosque was razed by Kar Sevaks in 1992, triggering communal riots across the country that claimed scores of lives.

Kar Sevaks later pitched tent at the demolition site and started worshipping an idol of Ram Lalla inside it.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Owaisi said, “Muslims offered namaz in Babri Masjid for 500 years. When the Congress”s Govind Ballabh Pant was the CM of Uttar Pradesh, idols were placed inside the masjid. (KKK) Nair was the district magistrate of Ayodhya at the time. He shut the masjid down and started worshipping there. There was no Ram Mandir in Ayodhya when the VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) was founded. Mahatma Gandhi never said anything about Ram Mandir.”

“However, the Babri Masjid was taken away from us in a systematic manner. Had GB Pant removed those idols back in the day and the Masjid not been demolished in 1992, we wouldn’t have seen what we are seeing today. Even Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, whose party (AAP) is a partner in the INDIA bloc, talked about holding Sunderkand Paath and chanting Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays. Everyone is busy wooing voters of the majority community,” Owaisi added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the rituals around the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22. The main rituals will be officiated by a special complement of top seers chosen from across the country.

The team of priests will be led by Lakshmikant Dixit. Several celebrities and top dignitaries have been invited to the ‘Pran Prathistha’ of Shri Ram Lalla on January 22. (ANI)

People Shower Petals At Modi’s Rameswaram Roadshow Cavalcade

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu and was welcomed by people with showering of petals.

He reached Rameswaram to perform darshan and pooja in Sri Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple.

Thousands of residents and BJP workers were present on both sides of the road to welcome the Prime Minister. Some of them were also carrying BJP flags. PM Modi waved back to people reciprocating their gesture.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister participated in a programme at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister also listened to various scholars reciting verses from the Kamba Ramayanam in this temple.

Prime Minister Modi is observing an 11-day Anushthan ahead of ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22.

PM Modi sought blessings from an elephant named ‘Andal’ in the temple premises.

Located in Srirangam, Trichy, the temple is one of the most ancient temple complexes in the country and finds mention in various ancient texts including the Puranas and the Sangam era texts. It is famous for its architectural grandeur and its numerous iconic gopurams. The main deity worshipped here is Sri Ranganatha Swamy, a reclining form of Bhagwaan Vishnu. Vaishnava scriptures mention the connection between the idol worshipped in this temple and Ayodhya.

It is believed that the image of Vishnu which used to be worshipped by Sri Rama and his ancestors was given by him to Vibhishana to take it to Lanka and on the way, this idol was fixed in Srirangam.

Sri Ramanujacharya, the great philosopher and saint, is also deeply associated with this temple’s history. There are various important places in this temple – the famous Kamba Ramayanam was first presented publicly by the Tamil poet Kamban in a particular place in this complex.

Prime Minister Modi has, over the last few days, visited several temples in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala ahead of the Pran Pratishtha at Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22. (ANI)
