‘Astronaut Sudhanshu Shukla’s Words From Space Filled My Heart With Pride & Inspiration’

The historic moment of Sudhanshu making it to the International Space Station (ISS) is more than a scientific achievement—it is a symbol of India’s soaring aspirations. In that moment, we saw not just an astronaut in zero gravity, but a role model who echoes the values that strive to uphold.
His journey from a determined young man to becoming one of India’s first spacefarers reflects relentless discipline, unshakable focus, and a passion for the skies. His words from orbit—calm, inspiring, and filled with national pride—resonate deeply. As someone who dreams of joining the IAF, I found his courage in venturing into the unknown to be a powerful message: our dreams can defy gravity, and our roots in this nation can take us to the stars.
Shukla is not merely an astronaut; he is a symbol of modern India’s scientific progress and military precision. His selection into the astronaut corps is itself a testament to India’s defense and space collaboration, and his presence in orbit tells every youth that excellence in service, discipline, and learning can take us beyond the stratosphere.

What is most inspiring is the idea that his journey was not built on privilege, but perseverance. He represents the kind of hero the youths of our country aspire to be—not one born for the skies, but one who earned his wings through sweat and sacrifice. His commitment to national service reminds me that defending the nation isn’t limited to borders on the ground—it includes frontiers in space, air, and beyond.
As youths like me continue preparing for the Defence Services and aim to wear the uniform of the Indian Air Force, Shukla’s success story is motivating the youths every day. It is not only inspiring us to serve the nation is not only an honour, but it is also calling to go higher, faster, and farther. His orbit may be above the Earth, but his impact is rooted in the dreams of every youth who believes in discipline, determination, and national pride.
The new generation sees its future: proud, purposeful, and prepared to serve India—on land, in air, or maybe one day, in space. His words “I am not just going for myself. I am carrying everyone’s dreams up there with me”, will always resonate amongst us and will inspire generations to come.
