‘Modi Is 2nd Longest Serving PM Now, Setting New Benchmarks Each Passing Year’
Harsh Dwivedi, founder and CEO of a tech startup, is an avid Modi admirer who says the BJP Prime Minister has secured unmatched public trust and respect. His views:
Modi’s journey, from a tea seller to arranging mats and cleaning the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh office to becoming the chief minister of Gujarat and then the Prime Minister of India is truly a story that reflects the aspirations of common Indians. Modi enjoys another rare and distinguished record, which may hardly be beaten ever – one that of serving as an elected head of the government consecutively for 8,690 days – as CM for more than 13 years(4,610 days precisely) and then as Prime Minister for 4,083 days till date. He has continuously remained the elected head of the government, state, and Centre, for more than 24 years, so far. Show me a leader of this mettle!
However, Modi stands out among all the Prime Ministers for one reason – that he is a self-made leader who has risen from the ranks. Unlike Nehru and Indira, he did not inherit any political pedigree. Nor like Dr Manmohan Singh, who became an “accidental Prime Minister” as Congress chief Sonia Gandhi wanted to appoint someone loyal to that position.
Modi is the only Indian leader to secure six consecutive electoral victories as head of a political party, across his tenures as Gujarat’s CM and India’s PM, reflecting his strong leadership skills and public trust that he has secured.
Despite being in power for over a decade, there are no major or minor corruption charges against him – an unusual trait in Indian politics, He is a powerful orator who speaks directly to the people through Mann Ki Baat and public rallies. Another proof that substantiates his clean image is the previous tenure of the Congress led NDA regime from 2004 to 2014 which was marred by scams every year – coal scam, 2G spectrum scam, chopper scam, Army truck scam, CWG swindling, cash for vote scam, Adarsh or IPL etc.’

If we compare Modi to former PM Indira Gandhi, all we can say is that she was undoubtedly authoritarian, and that resulted into imposition of the Emergency, an error she later acknowledged and paid for electorally.
However, Modi inherited an ideological momentum built over decades by BJP stalwarts like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani. Starting in 2014, he consolidated that groundwork into a sustained political wave, transforming a long-ignored Hindutva current into an electoral mainstream. It’s not just about governance, it’s about reshaping India’s political culture.
And thanks to his partner home minister Amit Shah who is fondly called the Chanakya of BJP, many big and bold decisions like abrogation of Article 370, Triple Talaq, the Wakf Amendment Act, surgical and operational strakes inside Pakistan etc, have been achieved.
Modi’s tenure has also been supported by development-oriented governance – flagship schemes like Ujjwala, PM Awas, Digital India, and infrastructure upgrades have touched millions of lives. If we talk about global recognition – Modi has elevated India’s image by fostering international partnerships with respect. Modi made foreign policy visible, especially with Western nations looking for a counterweight to China’s rise.
I would conclude by saying that finding such a vibrant leader is next to impossible but you never know who is being tutored, trained and polished in the workshop of the mentors of BJP who will replace Modi after he concludes his services to the nation in 2034 (after completing his fourth term successfully).
