Will Always Support The LGBTQIA Community: Ayushmann

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana believes in inclusivity.

Amid the ongoing Pride Month, the ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ star empowered the LGBTQIA+ community in Chandigarh by turning them into entrepreneurs. He invested in building food trucks for the community so that they can become self-reliant through food business. The food trucks are being called ‘Sweekar’, a relevant take on the importance of acceptance for the community in today’s society.
Speaking about this initiative, Ayushmann said, “According to me, an actor should try and have a social responsibility. It is the love of the people that put us in a position where we can do our bit to empower people and communities thereby raising awareness on important issues.I have always believed that inclusivity is the primary pillar for nation-building.”

“Every individual must do their bit to help as many people as possible. We have to also encourage others to do the same. Once we realise how symbiotic we are as a society and how we can only thrive by being together, we will achieve our bigger goal of creating a harmonious, co-existing world that celebrates diversity. I’m thrilled that on the occasion of the Pride Month, this is a step to empower members of the transgender community in Chandigarh to become self-reliant by turning them into entrepreneurs. I will always support the LGBTQIA+ community in my own way.”

Ayushmann also paid homage to the LGBTQ community with his film ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ in 2020. (ANI)

Ayushmann Opens Up On Boycott Culture Against Bollywood

After delivering eye-catching and powerful performances across comedy, thriller, and family genres, actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s next release is a high-octane action flick titled ‘An Action Hero’.

The 38-year-old actor is busy with the promotions of his next along with its director Anirudh Iyer. Following promotions for their upcoming flick, the two sat down and shared some exclusive insights into their film with ANI, while also opening up on the alleged ‘boycott culture’ against Bollywood.
On the film’s relatability with the ‘boycott culture’, Ayushmann told ANI, “The plot of the film is based on this era and whatever we have seen in the last few years. Whatever has happened in the recent past or is happening now has also been portrayed well in the film. You will surely get a glimpse of it in the film. Be it a targeted online campaign against a star or how vulnerable a superstar could be, you will find it all in this film. The film, in a nutshell, portrays how society reacts to a star these days.”

On the so-called boycott culture, which has taken a toll on some big-budget releases, including Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshaye Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj, Iyer told ANI, “What’s happening is very evident but I would like to give an elaborate answer to this question. There are always two ways of looking at this — repercussion and punishment. I feel that nobody deserves to be punished this way. It is wrong. There is a slight difference between these two viewpoints and I strongly believe that one should understand this difference.”

In the film, the ‘Bala’ actor will be seen portraying the role of an actor who is being chased by the character portrayed by Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is produced by Anand L Rai and Bhushan Kumar.

It is all set to hit the theatres on December 2, 2022. The film marks the ‘Dream Girl’ actor’s first action-packed role.

Ayushmann also has several projects in his kitty, including the upcoming comedy ‘Dream Girl 2’ alongside Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, and Vijay Raaz. The film is all set to hit the theatres on June 23, 2023 (ANI)

Felt Like My Debut Again: Ayushmann On Doing, An Action Hero

After delivering some impactful performances in comedy, thriller, and family drama films, actor Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to step into the world of high-octane action films with ‘An Action Hero.’

Talking about his experience of shooting hardcore action sequences for the first time in his career, Ayushmann said, “It felt like I was making my debut in the Hindi film industry while filming for An Action Hero! I have never explored this genre in my career so I had to unlearn and learn many things to pull off this role effectively on screen. I had a lot of fun and I hope audiences will appreciate what I have tried to do on screen with a disruptive film like An Action Hero.”
In the film, the ‘Bala’ actor will be seen portraying the role of an actor who is being chased by Jaideep Ahlawat.

“Also, my character, Manav, is far removed from who I am in real life. Manav is extravagant, spoilt, moody, and a brat. So, to play him, I had to become someone else completely and channelise these traits,” he added.

Recently, the makers unveiled the official trailer of ‘An Action Hero’ which gathered massive responses from the audience.

Ayushmann said, “I’m thrilled that people have loved the trailer of Action Hero. I always want to present myself in a new way on screen and hunt out scripts that sparkle with newness every single time. It feels great to see how people have connected to An Action Hero as being that kind of film.”

Helmed by Anirudh Iyer, the film is all set to hit the theatres on December 2, 2022.

Apart from this, Ayushmann will also be seen in the comedy film ‘Dream Girl 2’ alongside Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Vijay Raaz. (ANI)
