Hopefully We Will Get Another Five Years So Serve: C’garh Deputy CM TS Singh Deo

Ahead of the announcement to be made by the Election Commission of India on the schedule for the upcoming Assembly elections in the five states, Chhattisgarh Deputy CM TS Singh Deo said that he is hopeful that Congress will get another five years to serve the public of the state.

Speaking to ANI, TS Singh Deo said, “The sooner (elections) the better. Nowadays, there are five years to prepare for the elections, whatever work you do from the day you get the responsibility is seen as preparation for elections. We focussed on important issues for the public. Hopefully, we will get another five years to serve.”

Adding that the Congress government in the state has successfully controlled Naxalism in the last five years, he said, “Recently a Naxal incident came up, an incident also surfaced from Ujjain at the same time. Such incidents are less related to the government and more related to morbid psychology. If the government knows that something is going to happen and they don’t take action, then it is the government’s responsibility. But when a person with a morbid mentality commits such crimes, which government can predict this?”

Chhattisgarh BJP President Arun Sao said that it is time for the Congress to depart from the state.

“The people of Chhattisgarh have made up their minds to oust Congress from the state. A new dawn will come. Our state will become crime-free. It’s time for our rivals (Congress) to go,” he said.

In 2018, Congress managed to win 68 seats out of 90 in Chhattisgarh. The party garnered a vote share of 43.9 per cent. BJP won 15 seats and managed to gather vote share of 33.6 per cent.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh minister Vishwas Sarang exuded confidence and said that BJP will win more than 150 seats.

“BJP will fight the elections with complete preparation. A very successful model of the double-engine government has been established in Madhya Pradesh under PM Modi’s leadership. MP is a state that is developing very fast. We will win more than 150 seats this time,” he said.

Pointing out that the whole of Madhya Pradesh is waiting for the BJP to go out of power Congress MLA Kunal Chaudhary said, “It is clear that the people of Madhya Pradesh had been waiting for the elections to remove the BJP from power. The people, parties and the whole state are waiting for the BJP to go out of power.”

In Madhya Pradesh, the state will elect legislators from 230 Assembly constituencies. In the 2018 elections, Congress won 114 seats with a vote share of 41.5 per cent while the BJP came second and managed to win 109 seats. Its vote share was 41.6 per cent. However, in 2020, the Congress government lost the majority after the resignations of some MLAs belonging to a faction led by Jyotiraditya Scindia, who later joined the BJP. After this, the BJP formed the government in the state and Shivraj Singh Chouhan was reinstated as the Chief Minister.

The Election Commission of India is set to announce the schedule for the upcoming Assembly elections of Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana on Monday. (ANI)

ED Summons Ranbir In Mahadev Betting App Case

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate on Friday (October 6) in connection with the Mahadev betting app case.

According to sources Ranbir Kapoor had allegedly carried out promotional activities for the Mahadev betting app. In this case, ED also suspects several other A lister celebrities and certain sports personalities who promoted the app

Mahadev app founders are running 4-5 similar apps. The apps were being run from UAE.All these apps were making a profit of several crores rupees every day

A lavish wedding held this February in the United Arab Emirates caught the attention of the Enforcement Directorate as the entire money-around Rs 200 crore- spent on the bash was paid entirely in cash.

At his wedding held in Ras Al-Khaimah, Sourabh Chandrakar, one of the promoters of Mahadev Online Book Betting app, hired private jets to ferry family members from Nagpur to the UAE and paid celebrities from the Indian film industry to perform, according to the ED.

The agency in mid-September released details of its investigation into the online money laundering case linked with the Mahadev Online Book Betting app. Wedding planners, dancers, decorators etc, were hired from Mumbai and hawala channels were used to make payments in cash, ED had said.

Mahadev Online Book Betting app is an umbrella syndicate arranging online platforms for enabling illegal betting websites to enrol new users, create user IDs and the laundering of money through a layered web of benami bank accounts.

The ED said Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal who hail from Bhilai in Chattisgarh are the two main promoters of the Mahadev betting platform and ran their operations from Dubai. They had created an empire for themselves in that country.

The agency had recently conducted searches at 39 locations across Raipur, Bhopal, Mumbai and Kolkata and seized illegal assets worth Rs 417 crore. ED has also earnestly taken up investigation abroad.

A Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) special court at Raipur has also issued non-bailable warrants against the suspects.

The ED which is investigating money laundering charges in connection with the Mahadev Online Book app had last month conducted searches in Chhattisgarh and arrested four accused including the chief liaisoner of the betting syndicate, which the probe agency alleged was organizing payment of bribes to senior government functionaries as ‘protection money.’

ED had stated that it has successfully identified other major players involved in the money laundering operations of the Mahadev online booking app. (ANI)

Cong Dividing Women On Caste Lines: Modi In C’garh

Taking the attack to the Congress in Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused the ruling party in the poll-bound state of dividing women on the lines of caste.

Further, in a veiled dig at the Congress, which has flagged concerns over the non-provision of an OBC sub-quota, PM Modi hailed the women’s reservation law as a path-breaking legislative effort whose will be felt over the “next thousand years”.

In a further swipe at the Congress, he said the central government, under his leadership, fulfilled one more “guarantee” by bringing a law that had been hanging fire for the last 30 years.

“Our government fulfilled one more pormise that we had made to the people. Under the women’s reservation law, 33 per cent of seats in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures would now be set aside for women. Nari Shakti Adhiniyam is now a reality under the BJP rule,” PM Modi said while addressing a ‘Parivartan Maha Sankalp Rally’ in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur.

“Our President, Droupadi Murmu, signed it into a law yesterday. Amid all the statements from the Opposition, our mothers and sisters need to remember that this law had been pending for the last three decades,” PM Modi said.

He added that the Congress is worried how this piece of legislation has brought about unity among the women while making them aware of their rights.

“The Congress and its allies are rattled and upset since this legislation secured passage in both Houses of Parliament. They are only worried about the electoral fallout, fearing that the women will shower their blessings on Modi. Afraid of the oneness and awareness that this law has brought about among our women, the Opposition have now resorted to dividing them on the lines of caste. This is nothing but a poll gimmick,” PM Modi said.

“The impact of this law will be felt over the next thousand years. I would urge the women not to fall for the lies of the Opposition,” he added.

PM Modi said only Rs 300 crores were allocated for railways in Chhattisgarh during the previous Congress rule at the Centre. “But this year, we raised this outlay to Rs 6000 crores. This is the ‘Modi Model’, this is a token of my affection for Chhattisgarh. This is my commitment to Chhattisgarh’s development,” PM Modi said.

He also underscored the allocation of a Vande Bharat Express to Chhattisgarh.

“It is the BJP which gave the Vande Bharat train to Chhattisgarh,” PM Modi said. (ANI)

Dilli Ka Darbaar Can Do Nothing Good For C’garh: Shah

Coming down heavily on the Congress in Chhattisgarh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said ‘Dilli ka Darbaar’ can do nothing good for the state.

At an event to unveil the BJP’s ‘Aarop Patra’ (list of charges) against the Chhattisgarh government in the state capital, Raipur, the Union Home Minister said, “The upcoming state assembly elections are not just about a change of regime but it is also about securing the future of Chhattisgarh. The people have to decide if they want to give another term to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s corrupt government or vote for a development-oriented government by the BJP in the state. Dilli ka Darbaar (oblique reference to the Gandhi family) can do nothing good for Chhattisgarh. It is only the BJP, which can save the state from corruption,” Shah said.

“If voted to power, the BJP will put the state on the path of development and progress. We have unveiled the ‘Aarop Patra’ today to make the people aware of the corruption and scams that happened under the Congress government. Since 2018, when they (Congress) came to power, they have done nothing other than looting the state and the people,” Shah added.

Praising the previous BJP government in the state, Shah said, “While Raman Singh (former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister) was at the helm of affairs, the state made noticeable progress and took forward strides on all yardsticks of development. He provided free ration to every household. People started calling him ‘Chawal wale Baba’ (the leader who provided rice free of cost).”

“We even reserved 50 per cent seats for women candidates during the panchayat elections. Chhattisgarh was recognised as an education hub, power hub, cement hub, and an aluminum hub,” the Home minister said.

Coming down heavily at Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Shah said, “What have you (Baghel) given to the state? All you did was loot the poor and work for the benefit of the Gandhi family. He should present a detailed account of what he has done in the years he has been in power. He does not even remember the promises he made to the people of Chhattisgarh.”

The BJP, in its ‘Aarop Patra,’ alleged that the Congress government encouraged Naxalism in the state and got BJP workers killed.

“The Congress party promised to construct 200 food parks in the state but could not make even a single one of them,” the party alleged further in the Aarop Patra.

“The party promised to provide potable water to every household but could not provide the same to even half of them. It spent Rs 600 crores of public money for promotional activities. The Congress also threatened journalists and suppressed their rights,” the BJP added.

The ‘Aarop Patra’ also accused the ruling party of giving “leeway to criminals for its own political benefits”.

“The Congress party gave blatant leeway to criminals for its own political benefits and made the state a hub of drug peddlers and addicts,” the BJP alleged further in its ‘Aarop Patra’.

“The people of Chhattisgarh gave us 10 of the 11 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and all seats in 2019. I am hopeful that the people of Chhattisgarh will bless the BJP again in the upcoming Assembly elections and the Lok Sabha elections next year,” he said.

“CM Bhupesh Bagghel is accountable for the corruption that happened on his watch. He did not fulfil the promises he made to the farmers, youth, women and people belonging to the Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the state,” Shah added.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are confident that we will make the country the third-biggest global economy,” the Union Home Minister said.

The Chhattisgarh Assembly polls are scheduled to be held later this year. (ANI)

In the same breath, he went on to say that if Congress is the guarantee of corruption, then Modi is the guarantee of action against corruption.

“Every corrupt person in this country should listen to one thing with open ears. If they Congress is the guarantee of corruption, then Modi is the guarantee of action on corruption.”

“Chhattisgarh is the state in whose formation BJP has played a major role. Only BJP understands the people of Chhattisgarh, knows their needs. Today, the foundation stone and inauguration of projects worth more than Rs 7,000 crore have taken place here.”

Speaking at the rally, he expressed condolences to the three people who lost their lives while coming to the event this morning.
