Your Cavalcade Creates Traffic Snarls: Adhir Ranjan Writes To Modi

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has written a letter to PM Modi to draw attention to the “traffic snarls that are created”, particularly in the central areas of New Delhi, owing to the VVIP movement and the Prime Minister’s cavalcade.

“I wish to bring to your kind notice and seek your kind intervention in addressing the problem of huge traffic snarls that are created, particularly in the Central areas of New Delhi owing to the movement of your cavalcade,” he said.

In his letter, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury emphasized that the security of PM Modi is of utmost concern and there can never be any compromise or let-up of any kind on this front.

“It is a fact that the commuters on the public roads–who are from varied sections of society and may include daily wagers, patients, office-goers, and school- and college-going children–are often put to immense hardship owing to the blocking or diversion of traffic, which is often for long durations, due to the WIP Movement. I have heard and am also told of instances of people missing their flights, trains, and examinations, as well as delays in getting critically needed medical care owing to traffic blocks,” Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury added.

The Congress leader mentioned that traffic management experts and authorities should work out a plan without any compromise on the Prime Minister’s security.

“This needs to be achieved without any compromise on your security. The matter being of public concern, I am sure, you will have this looked into and necessary action taken, as suggested. I would once again like to reiterate here that your safety and security are of paramount concern, and there can never be any let-up or compromise. At the same time, it will be just and proper to ensure that the general public is not put through any avoidable hardship due to the disruption caused by the traffic movement on the roads of New Delhi, which are always busy with the ever-growing number of automobiles,” Chowdhury said in his letter to PM Modi. Rahul Gandhi OBC Modi

Modi Belongs To General Caste: Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not belong to the Other Backward Caste (OBC) community as he was born in a general category.

Addressing a public rally during the Odisha leg of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra here, the Wayanad MP said, “Whenever BJP workers come to you, tell them one thing that our Prime Minister lied to the entire country that he belonged to the backward class. He was not born in a backward class, he belongs to the general caste. You tell this to every BJP worker.”

This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently in Parliament called himself ‘sabse bada OBC’ (the biggest OBC) and accused the Congress of indulging in hypocrisy and adopting double standards while dealing with leaders of Backward communities.

“Congress party and UPA government did not deliver justice with OBCs. A few days ago, Karpoori Thakur ji was conferred with Bharat Ratna. In 1970, when he became Bihar CM, what was not done to destabilise his government? Congress can’t tolerate OBCs…They keep counting how many OBCs are there in government. Can’t you (Congress) see the biggest OBC here (pointing towards himself)?” PM Modi said in his reply to the ‘Motion of Thanks’ on the President’s Address in Lok Sabha on Monday.

PM Modi continued his attack on the UPA government and said that the previous government did not deliver justice to OBCs.

“During the UPA Government, an extra-constitutional body was formed. The government could not have its way before that body. National Advisory Council – did it have any OBC members? Find out,” he added.

The Odisha leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is scheduled to be completed this afternoon before going on a two-day break from February 9-10. The yatra will resume on February 11 from Chhattisgarh.

Earlier on Wednesday, the 25th day of the Nyay Yatra, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, visited Vedvyas Dham in the Sundergarh district of Western Odisha. The cave of this temple is considered to be the place where sage and poet Ved Vyas ji composed the Mahabharata.

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra rolled out from Manipur’s Thoubal on January 14. The yatra will cover over 6,700 kilometres over 67 days, traversing through 110 districts. It will cover a distance of 6,713 km, straddling 100 Lok Sabha constituencies and 337 assembly segments and covering 110 districts.

The yatra will conclude in Mumbai on March 20, after 67 days.

A follow-up to the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ which saw Rahul Gandhi cover more than 3,000 kilometres on foot–from Kanya Kumari to Srinagar–the Yatra 2.0 is following a hybrid format. (ANI)

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: Rahul Pays Tribute to Birsa Munda in Jharkhand

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said on Tuesday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra today in Jharkhand’s Khunti.

In a post on X, the Congress leader said, “The 24th day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra began at 8 am today with @RahulGandhi garlanding the statue of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Khunti. He also met and honoured the fourth generation of Bhagwan Munda’s family.”

His post added: “Khunti district is the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, who was one of the revolutionary leaders of the Indian Independence Movement and a strong proponent of the principles of self-rule, democracy, and justice.”

“His ideals continue to be relevant today and a source of strength and inspiration for us as we resist the Anyay-kaal of the last 10 years,” he said.

Currently, the yatra, which has already covered five states, mostly by bus, is anchored in Jharkhand, where the newly formed government led by Champai Soren survived a floor test in Jharkhand Assembly on Monday.

Speaking on the victory of the alliance in the floor test Rahul Gandhi criticised the BJP claiming that the party was “anti-tribal.”

“Hemant Soren ji said a very touching thing in the Assembly today, “When we came out of the forest, sat next to them, their clothes got dirty”. This is not just a statement, it is the pain of the entire tribal society. The BJP is not tolerating the fact that there is a tribal Chief Minister in the state. Today Jharkhand has given a message to the entire country that the power of the people cannot be subdued by intimidation. This is a victory for the unity of the poor and the tribals, congratulations to all of you” Rahul Gandhi said.

Congress is an ally in the ruling alliance of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) along with the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

Modi Might Handover Steel Mills Of J’khand To His Billionaire Friends: Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi might soon handover the steel mills of the Jharkhand to his billionaire friends adding that the economic injustice has been deliberately orchestrated by PM in the nation where ruling party at the Centre (BJP) is keen on handing over nation’s wealth and resources in few hands.

Addressing a public meeting on the Day 22 of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra here today, Gandhi pointed out how Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies like the demonetisation and faulty GST system had destroyed the country’s economy, broken the back of industry that has led to widespread unemployment.

“A few billionaire friends of the Prime Minister are gradually getting control over all the resources. Prime Minister might soon handover the steel mills of the state, like the Bokaro to the same friends,” Rahul Gandhi said.

Gandhi further pointed out that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies like the demonetisation and faulty GST system had destroyed the country’s economy, broken the back of the industry that has led to widespread unemployment”.

“Prime Minister was handing over the Public Sector Undertakings, which otherwise generated huge employment, to his friends,” he said.

Cautioning the tribals, Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP-led Centre is hell-bent on taking away their land, forests and water which the Congress party has always defended and protected by enacting special laws for the purpose.

“Congress party will keep on working for you, come what may,” he said.

He further stated that Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has become a success and he will keep fighting against the divisive ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

“Congress will keep on fighting against the divisive policies of the RSS and will not let it to spread hate and violence,” he said. (ANI)

Rahul Yatra Reaches Dhanbad

Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Reaches Dhanbad in Jharkhand

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which is currently in its Jharkhand leg, reached Dhanbad on Sunday.

“The youth of Jharkhand, fed up with unemployment, are saying that jobs are being eliminated from every sector. People have become dependent on food. Modi government completely became Adani’s government. The only option for the country is Rahul Gandhi,” the official handle of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra posted on X ahead of Rahul’s visit to the state earlier.

Accusing the BJP of spreading hatred and inciting violence, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, on Saturday, said the grand old party and its allies will open ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukaan’ (shops dealing in love) across the country.

The Wayanad MP, after resuming the ongoing Jharkhand leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, from Sarkanda Chowk here, said the Congress’s fight was against the hatred in the hearts of the ‘BJP people’.

“The BJP is spreading hate. We undertook a 4000-km Bharat Jodo Yatra against this hatred and violence, coining the slogan ‘Nafrat Ke Bazaar Me Mohabbat Ki Dukkan’. No matter how much hatred they (BJP) spread or the violence they orchestrate, the Congress and its allies will open ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukan’ all over the country. Our fight is against the hatred in the hearts of the BJP people,” Rahul said while addressing a gathering here.

The Congress leader claimed further that injustice is being meted out to the poor, youth, women, and farmers across the country.

“Our objective is not only to fight their hatred but also to unite people across communities. We have arrived in Jharkhand to spread the message and love and oneness. Grave injustice is being meted out to the poor, youth, women and farmers across the country,” the Congress MP said.

He alleged further that the policies of the BJP government at the Centre were against the interests and welfare of tribals.

“If the name ‘Adan’ (billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani) comes up in a discourse, people understand where the conversation is going. He has been flourishing with the blessings of Narendra Modi. We brought a land Bill during our term at the Centre. However, it was withdrawn after Modi-ji became Prime Minister. It’s injustice for everyone and justice for Adani,” the Congress MP said, in a no-holds-barred rant against the BJP.

'An Expert In Betrayal': Congress Slams Nitish Kumar

Khule Mann, Band Muhh: Jairam On INDIA Seat-Sharing Talks

Amid the continuing suspense over a seat-sharing agreement between the partners in the Opposition alliance — INDIA, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday said talks would be held with an ‘open mind’.

Speaking to ANI on Monday, Ramesh, the Congress general secretary in charge of communications, said, “
Khule mann aur band muh se hi hum seat sharing pe baat aage chalaenge
(We will carry forward seat-sharing talks with an open mind and refraining from public statements).”

The Congress leader added that different states would pose different challenges with regard to advancing seat-sharing talks and the discussions, hence, be held, taking all aspects into consideration.

“The seat-sharing talks are ongoing and will continue. We will do what needs to be done. There are different conditions and challenges in different states. We will be having discussions on seat sharing, keeping in mind the different (political) realities there,” Ramesh said.

While the INDIA partners came together for their fourth meeting in the national capital recently, the potentially thorny issue of seat-sharing was left unaddressed.

The veteran Congress leader said his party will hold a mega rally in Nagpur on December 28 in which it will formally blow the bugle for the Lok Sabha elections next year.

“As far as the Congress is concerned, there will be a mega rally in Nagpur on December 28 with the theme ‘Hai Tayyar Hum’. We will formally sound the bugle for the Lok Sabha elections from that rally,” Ramesh said.

He added that the Congress was taking the INDIA alliance seriously and was ready for seat-sharing discussions.

“We are taking all things discussed in the INDIA meeting very seriously. The meeting lasted three hours. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi clearly stated that we are ready for seat sharing and want the INDIA partners to be united and strong. That is why our slogan says ‘Badlega Bharat, Jitega India’. Congress will do everything it possibly can to win,” Ramesh said.

On whether the Congress was looking to play the role of a big brother in the Opposition alliance, Ramesh said, “No, we are not the big brother here. We are the same as all fellow partners in the alliance. It’s true that we are a big party and we recognise the responsibilities that come along with it. But we want to take everyone along.”

“We are all working towards accomplishing one goal — to protect the Constitution and democracy and rid the people of unemployment and inflation. This is our goal. We want to fight our battle unitedly against economic inequality, social polarisation and dictatorship,” Ramesh added.

On Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra being relieved from the post of AICC in-charge of UP Congress, Ramesh added, “I cannot say anything on an individual. Priyanka Gandhi is the general secretary of AICC and she has had a major role in our election campaigns in Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.”

“I am sure that she will have the same role in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well. We, our party and our party workers, hope that her role will be as active as it was in our electoral campaigns for Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh polls,” Ramesh added. (ANI)
