IPL: Rizwi Goes To CSK For Rs 8.4 Cr, Shubham Goes To DC

Uncapped Indian batter Sameer Rizwi was sold to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 8.4 crore while another uncapped batter Shubham Dubey was sold to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in Dubai on Tuesday.

For Dubey, there was a bidding war between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals and he was bought by one-time champions eventually.

In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year for Vidarbha, Dubey scored 221 runs in seven innings at an average of 73.66 with a strike rate of over 187, with one half-century.

Rizwi was bought by five-time champions CSK following an intense bidding war with Gujarat Titans. His base prize was Rs 20 lakh but was brought for Rs 8.4 crores.

COP28: Modi Emplanes For Visit To UAE For World Climate Action Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening emplaned for Dubai to take part in the World Climate Action Summit in the United Arab Emirates.

PM Modi will address the opening session of the World Climate Action Summit in the United Arab Emirates and participate in the three high-level side events, of which two will be co-hosted by India.

The Prime Minister visited the UAE in July this year.

Ahead of his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India has always walked the talk when it comes to climate action and added that even during the G20 Presidency, climate was a high priority.

In the UAE, PM Modi will also attend an event related to the Green Credits Initiative.

Addressing a special briefing on PM Modi’s visit to the UAE here on Thursday, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra said the Prime Minister will also attend an event related to Green Credits Initiative.

“The Prime Minister will be travelling to Dubai later this evening to attend World Climate Action Summit which is the high-level segment of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Departing later this evening, he will be attending the summit events tomorrow before returning to India later tomorrow evening,” he said.

PM Modi will also attend the high-level event co-hosted by India and Sweden.

“The second (event on the sides) which is co-hosted by India and Sweden is the launch of Lead IT 2.0, leadership group for industry transition. If you recall, it was a joint initiative launched by India and Sweden in 2019 at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York. Essentially, this initiative fosters collaboration among decision-makers, bringing together both the public sector and private sector with the objective of accelerating the industry transition to net zero emissions, essentially from heavy industries.”

Kwatra stated that PM Modi will participate in another high-level event ‘Transforming Climate Finance’ which is to be hosted by the Presidency of the COP28 – UAE.

In his departure statement ahead of the COP28 climate talks in Dubai, PM Modi also noted that the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration also included concrete steps on climate action and sustainable development.

“India has walked the talk when it comes to climate action. Our achievements in different sectors like renewable energy, energy efficiency, afforestation, energy conservation, and Mission LiFE are testament to the commitment of our people towards Mother Earth,” the Prime Minister said, according to an official release by the Prime Minister’s Office.

“In keeping with our civilizational ethos, India has always laid emphasis on climate action even as we pursue social and economic development. During our G20 presidency, climate was a high priority. The New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration includes numerous concrete steps on climate action and sustainable development. I look forward to the COP-28 taking forward the consensus on these issues,” he said.

According to the departure statement, COP28 will also provide an opportunity to review progress made under the Paris Agreement and chart a path for future action on climate action.

The visit of PM Modi to Dubai comes at the invitation of President of UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“I am travelling to Dubai to attend the World Climate Action Summit of the COP-28 on December 1, 2023. I am happy to see that this significant event is being held under the Presidency of the UAE, which has been an important partner for India in the field of climate action,” the Prime Minister said in his departure statement.

COP28, which stands for the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), is taking place in Dubai, UAE, from November 30 – December 12 this year.

Delegates from almost 200 nations will be present at the summit, including world leaders like Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will arrive in Dubai later today. (ANI)

Alishah Parkar, son of Haseena Parkar, and Dawood Ibrahim’s nephew, has made sensational claims before the National Investigation Agency stating that the fugitive underworld gangster has remarried a Pakistani Pathan woman while still being married to his first wife Maizabin.

Alishah laid down the family tree of Dawood Ibrahim and said that the gangster’s first wife gets in touch with people through WhatsApp calls.
In a chargesheet filed by the NIA in the terror funding case, the agency has said that Alishah detailed the family tree of Dawood in his statement in which he claimed that the gangster has relocated himself to another location in Pakistan’s Karachi.

The NIA had registered a case against Dawood Ibrahim and his close aides in the terror funding case and had also arrested some people.

NIA had received information that Dawood Ibrahim is forming a special team, which can attack big leaders and businessmen in the country. They can spread violence in big cities. During the investigation of this case, the NIA recorded the statement of Alishah Parkar, son of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar.

According to Alishah’s statement, Dawood has four brothers (5 including himself) and four sisters.

“Dawood Ibrahim has remarried. His second wife is a Pakistani Pathan,” Alishah told NIA during the probe.

According to Alishah Ibrahim Parkar, Dawood Ibrahim is telling everyone that he has divorced his first wife Maizabin to get married for the second time, but it is not so. Besides this, the address of Dawood Ibrahim has changed. Now he lives in the defence area near Rahim Faki located behind Abdullah Ghazi Baba Dargah in Karachi.

Alishah’s statement further said that he had met Dawood Ibrahim’s wife Maizabin a few months ago in July 2022 in Dubai.

He claimed that he had stayed in the house of Zaitoon Hamid Antulay in Dubai.

“Dawood’s wife Maizabin calls my wife even on festivals, talks to my wife through WhatsApp calls,” his statement said.

At present Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, Haji Anees alias Anees Ibrahim Shaikh and Mumtaz Rahim Faki along with their families live behind Abdullah Ghazi Baba Dargah in Defense Colony, Karachi, Pakistan. According to Alishah Parkar, Dawood Ibrahim does not keep in touch with anyone.

According to his statement to the NIA, Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar’s wife’s name is Maizabin and has 3 daughters. One is named Marukh (married to Javed Miandad’s son Junaid), the other is Mehrin, while the third is Maziya (unmarried) and the son is Mohin Nawaz. Dawood Ibrahim’s second wife is a Pakistani Pathan.

“Dawood Ibrahim shows that he had divorced his first wife, but the fact is it’s wrong,” the statement said.

Alishah also detailed the information about Dawood’s brothers.

The statement said that Sabir Ibrahim Kaskar died during the gang war in Mumbai in 1983-84. His wife’s name is Shenaaz. He has 2 children. A son named Shiraz and a daughter Shahziya. Shiraz died in 2020 due to COVID in Pakistan, Shahziya lives in Agripada with her husband Mozzam Khan. Mozzam Khan is an estate agent.

Noora Ibrahim Kaskar died in Pakistan 7-8 years ago in Pakistan. His first wife’s name was Shafika who also died. He had married second time to Reshma living in Pakistan. He has a daughter from Shafika whose name is Saba. Sohel and Sarfarz are living in Pakistan, Alishah said in his statement.

Iqbal Kaskar who is in Thane Jail for the last 5 years, Iqbal Kaskar’s wife’s name is Rizwana who lives in Dubai. There are 5 children, girl Hafsa who lives in Dubai, Zara who lives in Spain, Aiman who lives with her mother in Dubai, son Rizwan who is lodged in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai and another son Aban who is also in Dubai.

Alishah said that Anees Ibrahim’s wife’s name is Tehsin, who has 5 children, including 3 daughters, whose name is Shamim (married to Shahdab Khan from Mumbai and lives in Dubai). 2nd daughter Yasmin (married to Asgar, he is Pakistani and lives in Karachi), and 3rd daughter Aana (married to Salik, he is Pakistani and lives in Karachi) and 2 sons namely Ibrahim (married to Pakistani girl Qurtarulain), and another son Mehran (studying in London and unmarried). Anees’s family lives in Pakistan.

“Mustkeen Ibrahim Kaskar’s wife’s name is Seema. He has 2 daughters, whose name is Seher (who married Khalid in Lucknow), and lives in Lucknow. Second daughter Ammina (unmarried and done LLB, LLM from London), practising in Dubai. She has two sons named Owais (he is married to Guddu Pathan’s daughter) and Humza (studying) lives in Dubai,” the statement said.

Alishah said that Humayun Ibrahim Kaskar died 4-5 years ago.

His wife’s name is Shahin, he has two daughters, whose names are Mariya and Samiya. Both are not married. Both of them live in Karachi, he said.

Giving information about Dawood’s sisters, Alishah said that the first sister Saida Hassan Miya Waghle married Hassan Miya who are both dead.

They both have 2 daughters. Their names are Nazma and Pinky and they have two sons named Sajid and Sameer alias Lala, he said.

Haseena Ibrahim Parkar married Ibrahim Parkar. Both have died. He has 2 sons named Danish (died in a car accident), Aalishah and 2 daughters Kaushiya and Umera.

“Zaitun Hamid Antule married Hamid Antule. Hamid Antulay was accused by CBI in a case and he has Manikchand agency in Dubai. She has 2 sons whose names are Sabir and Hussain and daughter Saida. All of them live in Dubai,” he said.

Farzana Saud Tungekar married with Saud Tungekar. They have 2 sons, named Junaid and Mohammad Ali, and 2 daughters, one named Sahila and the other daughter named Erum.

India May See Surge In COVID In Mid-Jan: Sources

The next 40 days will be crucial as India may see a surge of COVID cases in mid of January, said Union Health Ministry sources on Wednesday.

The sources said the assessment had been made after analysing the previous trends of the COVID surge the country experienced.
As there have been reports of a surge in COVID cases in some countries, the operational readiness of health facilities is being reviewed in all States and Union Territories in case of another wave.

Notably, two passengers coming from Dubai tested positive for the COVID infection at Chennai airport on Wednesday.

“Two passengers who arrived from Dubai tested positive at the Chennai airport today. Both of them hailed from the Alangudi district of Tamil Nadu’s Pudukkottai. Their test samples have been sent to State Public Health Laboratory,” said Tamil Nadu Health Department said.

At least 39 international travelers have tested positive for COVID infection between December 24-26 as the random testing of international passengers arriving at the airports is being done

“The total number of international flights screened in the last three days ie December 24, December 25, and December 26 is 498. The number of samples collected for COVID-19 testing is 1,780. The cumulative number of samples collected is 3,994. The cumulative number of samples testing positive is 39 and the cumulative number of samples sent for whole genome sequencing is 39,” sources told ANI on Tuesday.

In light of the surge in COVID in some countries, hospitals across India conducted a Mock drill for COVID. The purpose of the mock drill was to evaluate COVID preparedness in terms of resources, protocol, and personnel.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya went to the Safdarjung Hospital to observe the Mock drill on Tuesday.

“To make sure there is not a COVID surge in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked us to be careful. The government is also preparing if the Covid cases increase. Today mock drills are conducted across Covid hospitals in the country to make sure people get proper treatment,” the Union Health Minister said at Safdarjung hospital.

This came after four international travelers from Myanmar tested positive for COVID infection at the Delhi airport.

Meanwhile, India recorded 188 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.

India’s active caseload currently stands at 3,468 which accounts for 0.01 percent of the total cases. The recovery rate currently is at 98.8 percent. As many as 141 recoveries were made in the last 24 hours, thereby taking the total recoveries to 4,41,43,483

The daily positivity rate stood at 0.14 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is at 0.18 percent.

A total of 90,529 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

On the COVID-19 vaccination front, the government data informed that over 220.07 crore vaccine doses had been administered so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive. (ANI)

Two persons returning from abroad have tested positive for the Coronavirus infection at the Kolkata Aiport, airport sources said on Monday.

Both samples have been sent for genome sequencing.
According to sources, one of the positive passengers came from Dubai on Saturday while another came from Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur.

Patients are kept in quarantine in Beliaghata ID Hospital.

Following the advisory ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals’, issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has commenced random post-arrival testing for International arrivals at Delhi Airport, said Dr. Gauri Agarwal, Founder of Genestrings Diagnostic Center on Sunday.

According to the new instructions by the government, 2 percent of all passengers arriving at international airports have to undertake random post-arrival testing at the Delhi Airport from December 24. This is being done to reduce the risk of ingress of the new COVID-19 variant BF.7 in India.

Earlier in the day, four international travellers from Myanmar tested positive for the Coronavirus infection at the Delhi airport.

It is pertinent to mention that Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a virtual meeting with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) at 4 pm today for the Covid-19 preparedness, situation.

Recently, the IMA also issued an advisory and appealed to the public to follow Covid-appropriate behaviour with immediate effect.

“In view of the sudden surge of COVID cases in different countries, the Indian Medical Association alerts and appeals to the public to follow COVID appropriate behaviour with immediate effect.”

Shehnaaz gained fame after her stint on Bigg Boss 13. Shehnaaz and Sidharth Shukla, popularly called ‘SidNaaz’ by fans, got close to each other when they were in the ‘Bigg Boss 13’ house, though they never officially acknowledged being a couple. Sidharth later won the reality show in 2020.

Sidharth passed away on September 2, 2021, after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 40. After the sudden demise of Sidharth, Shehnaaz has released a heartfelt music video tribute titled ‘Tu Yaheen hai’. Madurai Customs Seizes 8 Gold Pieces

The Madurai Customs Airport Intelligence Unit (AIU) confiscated eight gold pieces weighing 141 grams that were concealed in a toolbox from a passenger on October 19. The man flew in from Dubai.

It was discovered that the man was attempting to smuggle the gold by concealing it in a toolbox. When he was searched, gold worth Rs seven lakh was seized.
Eight gold pieces in all have been discovered in the passenger’s possession, six of which are cylindrical in shape, one of which is bent cylindrical in shape, and the eighth is shaped like a bindi. They all weigh 141 grams, are 24 karats, and are of foreign origin.

The gold pieces were hidden inside three of nine Torx set pieces and one T-shaped drill pit key in a toolbox. The total worth of the seized gold pieces is Rs 7,19,382, and they were carried by a male passenger who landed in Madurai from Dubai on a SpiceJet flight on October 19. (ANI)

7 Expensive Watches Seized Worth Rs 28 Cr At Delhi Airport

The Delhi customs have seized seven expensive watches worth around Rs 28 crore from a passenger at Indira Gandhi International Airport, said a senior Customs official on Thursday.

In a statement, Delhi Customs informed that on the basis of Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS) Profiling, the officers of Airport Customs at IGI Airport in New Delhi had booked a case of smuggling of seven highly precious wristwatches out of which one is extraordinarily exorbitant, customized billionaire piece made of gold and studded with diamonds, one diamond studded gold bracelet and one i-phone 14 Pro on October 4, against one Indian national passenger who arrived at T-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi by Flight No. EK 516 from Dubai.
The detailed examination of the baggage and personal search of the passenger resulted in the recovery of seven wristwatches: Jacob and Co (model: BL115.30a), Piaget Limelight Stella (SI.No. 1250352 P11179), the Rolex Oyster perpetual date just (Sl. No. Z7J 12418), the Rolex Oyster perpetual date just (SI. No. 0C46G2 17), the Rolex Oyster perpetual date just (SI. No. ZV655573), the Rolex Oyster perpetual date just (Sl. No. 237Q 5385), the Rolex Oyster perpetual date just (Sl. No. 86 1R9269), one diamond studded gold bracelet and one iPhone 14 Pro 256 GB having a total value of Rs. 28,17,97,864.

The said recovered goods have been seized under section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962. The passenger has been placed under arrest in terms of Section 104 of the Customs Act, 1962 as the offense being non-bailable committed by him is covered under 135 of the Customs Act, 1962.

Chief Commissioner, Delhi Customs Zone Surjit Bhujabal said, “Alert customs officers at Delhi Airport have made this possible in spite of having such high passenger traffic. Indian Customs have always ensured maximum facilitation with minimal disturbance to genuine passengers simultaneously ensuring the safeguard of economic frontiers by curbing smuggling”.

Commissioner Airport Delhi Customs Zubair Riaz Kamili said, “In commercial/ luxury goods, it is the biggest seizure in value terms at the IGI Airport in one go. In value terms, it is equivalent to seizing around 60 kg of gold in one instance”. (ANI)
