Kriti Gorges On Halwa, Puri On Ashtami

Indian festivals are incomplete without scrumptious meals and sweets. As Chaitra Navratri culminated with Durga Ashtami today, devotees across the country prepared bhog on this day.

A quintessential Ashtami bhog thali includes halwa, puri and kale chane. Actress Kriti Sanon and her family also celebrated Durga Ashtami and prepared this delicious prasad.
Taking to Instagram, Kriti wished everyone “Happy Ashtami” and shared a picture of thali filled with special Ashtami prasad.

‘Kabir Singh’ Nikita Dutta also gave us a sneak peek into her special Ashtami bhog.

She dropped pictures in which In she is seen holding a plate of her Ashtami meal and said that it “keeps her motivated” during Navratri.

“Happy ashtami..Here is some customary poori-chana-halwa. This meal is what keeps me motivated to fast for 7 days. Jai mata di,” she wrote.

On Ashtami, worshippers also conduct a ritual known as Kanya Pujan. It is performed to show gratitude towards Goddes Durga and her nine incarnations. The girls — recognised as Maa Durga’s avatars– are worshipped and given satvik bhog, which includes halwa, chole, puri, and fruits.

For this year, Chaitra Navratri started on March 22 and will end on March 30. The nine avatars of Maa Durga that are worshipped during this time are Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri. The rituals observed during Chaitra Navratri are also observed during Shardiya Navratri – celebrated during September or October. (ANI)

Tisca Joins Sara, Karisma Starrer ‘Murder Mubarak’

Actor Tisca Chopra is the new addition to the star cast of producer Dinesh Vijan’s upcoming film ‘Murder Mubarak’.

Taking to Instagram, on Tuesday, Tisca shared announced the news with a picture which she captioned, “And it starts .. a new story, a new life to live and many new friends ..Wish us luck lobsters.”

In the picture, the ‘Taare Zameen Par’ actor could be seen holding the clapboard of the film.

Helmed by Homi Adajania, the film stars Sara Ali Khan and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles.

Soon after Tisca shared the picture, fans swamped the comment section with red heart emoticons and congratulatory messages for the actor.

“Best of luck Tisca jee,” a user wrote.

Another user wrote, “Good luck Tisca. Looking forward”

“Very nice. All the best,” a fan wrote.

Tisca’s post indicates that the film also stars Kunal Kemmu, Pankaj Tripathi, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Kapoor and Vijay Varma in pivotal roles.

The official release date of ‘Murder Mubarak’ is still awaited.

Meanwhile, Tisca was recently seen in the thriller series ‘Dahan’, which premiered on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar and gathered a positive response from the audience.

Sara, on the other hand, will be also seen in director Laxman Utekar’s next untitled romantic drama film alongside actor Vicky Kaushal. She also has ‘Gaslight’ with Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh, and Karan Johar’s next ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ in which she will play a brave freedom fighter in a fictional tale set against the backdrop of the Quit India Movement in 1942.

Talking about Karisma Kapoor’s work front she will be seen in the upcoming drama series ‘Brown’, directed by Abhinay Deo. Backed by Zee Studios, the noir show is based on the book the City of Death by Abheek Barua. Brown revolves around Rita Brown, an alcoholic cop, who forms an unlikely alliance with a widower with survivor’s guilt to solve the murder of a young girl. (ANI)

Bollywood actor Ananya Panday is all set to star in the upcoming series ‘Call Me Bae’.

Taking to Instagram, Ananya treated fans with a new project announcement.
In the video, Varun Dhawan and Ananya can be seen having a fun banter and discussing about fashion.

In the series, Ananya will be playing a fashion expert. On this journey, she overcomes stereotypes, negotiates around prejudices and discovers who she really is.

On the work front, Ananya recently wrapped the shoot of Vikramaditya Motwane’s untitled cyber crime-thriller.

Ecstatic about the project, Ananya had earlier said, “When Vikramaditya Motwane approached me with this story, I just knew I had to be part of it. As a filmmaker, he has been on my wish list for as long as I can remember and I feel really lucky to be working with him this early in my career.”

She also has Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ opposite actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav.

Helmed by the debutant director Arjun Varain, the official release date of the film is still awaited.

Apart from that, she also has a comedy film ‘Dream Girl 2’ along with Ayushmann Khurrana.

Atif Aslam-Sarah Become Parents To A Baby Girl

Singer Atif Aslam and his wife Sarah Bharwana have been blessed with a baby girl.

On Thursday, the ‘Dil Diyan Gallan’ hitmaker took to Instagram and shared the good news with his fans and followers. The couple has named their daughter Halima.
Sharing a picture of the newborn in a pink outfit wrapped in a matching blanket, Atif wrote, “Finally the wait is over. The new queen of my heart has arrived..Both baby and sarah are fine Alhamdulilah. Please do remember us in your prayers Ramadan Mubarak from Halima Atif Aslam 23/03/2023 #ramadan.”

As soon as Atif dropped the post about the arrival of the baby girl, netizens chimed in the comment section and congratulated the couple.

“Sending love…Congratulations,” singer Stebin Ben commented.

“MashAllah, congratulations,” a social media user commented.

In the picture, Atif put an eye mask sticker on the baby’s face. She also wore a light green ribbon and was seemingly sleeping.

Sarah and Atif got married in Lahore on March 29, 2013. They are also parents to two sons Abdul Ahad and Aryaan Aslam.

As actress Alia Bhatt is celebrating her 30th birthday on Wednesday, her loved ones have made sure to pour their heart out via heartfelt birthday messages on social media.

Alia’s mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor also dropped a sweet birthday post for her.

Sushmita Slays Ramp Walk After Suffering Heart Attack

A week after she suffered a heart attack, actor Sushmita Sen stunned her fans by walking the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week.

Sushmita turned showstopper for designer Anushree Reddy and looked stunning in a yellow embellished lehenga.

She wore a yellow-silver heavy worked lehenga that she teamed it up with a net dupatta which is draped beautifully around her body.

She opted for a dewy makeup look and completed her look with green bindi and matching earrings-necklace set.

Sushmita walked the ramp with a flower bouquet and all smiles as she greeted everyone present there with her signature style.

While walking the ramp, she had a fun banter with the audience sitting in front of her.

She even danced on the beats of ‘Tu Jhoom’ track and how happy she is to be there showed on her face.

During a media interaction, when the actor was asked how is she feeling? To which she, responded, “I am feeling actually better than I look also. Touchwood, its been beautiful turn around time from that moment to today. One thing I know for sure bahut kuchh karane baaki hai (there’s a lot to do). I mean that itself is a beautiful feeling and this keeps me going.”

Last week, the Aarya star shocked everyone by revealing that she had suffered a heart attack.

“Keep your heart happy and courageous, and it’ll stand by you when you need it the most Shona” (Wise words by my father Subir Sen). I suffered a heart attack a couple of days back…Angioplasty done…stent in place…and most importantly, my cardiologist reconfirmed ‘I do have a big heart,'” she wrote in her post.

“Lots of people to thank for their timely aid and constructive action…will do so in another post. This post is just to keep you (my well wishers and loved ones) informed of the good news …that all is well and I am ready for some life again,” she added.

A few days later, she went live on Instagram and informed that she had 95 per cent blockage in main artery.

On the work front, Sushmita is all set to play the role of transgender activist Gauri Sawant in a new web series titled ‘Taali’.

And now Sushmita is gearing up for ‘Aarya 3’ along with her, Sikander Kher has also kept the audience engaged with his stellar performance.

The first two seasons of the show got impeccable responses from critics and viewers alike, with Sushmita Sen helming the show and Sikandar playing a pivotal lead in the front for which he earned several awards earlier this year.

Govinda On Satish Kaushik: You Will Always Be Missed

Remembering actor-director Satish Kaushik, Govinda took to Instagram and posted an emotional note. Govinda shared a couple of stills from the movies, he has worked with the veteran actor.

Sharing the stills, he wrote, “Ek mitra… Ek kalakar… ek saathi… Dukh kaise bayaan karu. Apki kami hamesha khalegi hamein….bahut dukh hua. Gone to soon. RIP.”

Govinda and Satish has worked in many films like ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’, ‘Deewana Mastana’, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, ‘Pardesi Babu’, ‘Aunty No. 1’, ‘Haseena Maan Jaayegi’, ‘Kyo Kii… Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta’ and others.

Satish Kaushik passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Thursday and was cremated at Mumbai’s Oshiwara crematorium later in the evening.

His mortal remains were flown to his home in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon after the post-mortem at Delhi’s Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital.

The last rites of the actor were performed at a crematorium in Mumbai. Anupam Kher, Sham Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor were among the Bollywood celebs visiting Kaushik’s Mumbai residence to pay their last respects to the departed actor.

Over the years, Satish established himself as one of the most sought-after character actors in Bollywood, often playing supporting roles integral to the plot. He was also known for his work as a writer and director, having directed films such as ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’ and ‘Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain’.

Satish started his career as a stage actor, featuring in plays across Delhi before moving to Mumbai to pursue his dream of a career in Bollywood. (ANI)
