Anushka In Bengaluru To Cheer For Virat In Vital IPL Match

Expecting to see Anushka Sharma walk the iconic Cannes red carpet tonight? You will have to wait a little longer as the ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ actress is currently in Bengaluru to be by the side of her husband and cricketer Virat Kohli’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore.

RCB face Gujarat Titans in a crucial IPL 2023 tie on Sunday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The fourth place in the playoffs is still up for grabs and the race is between RCB, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.

If Mumbai Indians lose against Sunrisers Hyderabad, then a win would be enough for RCB to qualify. If Mumbai Indians end up winning, and then RCB also wins, then it will come down to net run rate.

If Mumbai Indians win and RCB lose, then it would be Rohit Sharma and co, who would qualify for playoffs. If MI and RCB both lose, then it would be Rajasthan Royals who will qualify for the playoffs.

On an important match day, Anushka decided to be with Virat and cheer for him.

Earlier today, she was spotted taking a flight to Banglore from Mumbai international airport. Sporting a comfy athleisure look, Anushka smiled at the paps and posed for a few pics. She paired a white crop tee with black athleisure pants and a matching cap for her airport look.

After reaching the Silicon Valley of India, Anushka gave a glimpse of the Bengaluru rains.

During RCB vs SRH match on Thursday, Virat and Anushka imparted couple goals.

After Virat scored a century in the Royal Challengers Bangalore versus Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL match, he picked up the phone and video called Anushka from the field. Videos and photos of their interaction were circulated all over social media, as fans cheered for their favourite couple.

Virat and Anushka tied the knot in Tuscany, Italy on December 11, 2017. Three years after their wedding, the duo became parents to a beautiful daughter, Vamika, in January 2021.

Virat recently spoke about his first meeting during a conversation with cricketer AB de Villiers. Virat shared that when he learnt that he was going to shoot with Anushka for an ad, he “started shivering” because she was one of the “top actors” in India at the time.”I remember this was 2013, I was just named captain for the Zimbabwe tour. My manager came to me and told me that I was going to shoot with Anushka Sharma. As soon as I heard this, I was so nervous. Like, how am I going to do this? I was really nervous,” he said.

The batting superstar also remembered cracking an unamusing joke about her heels when they met for the shoot, but eventually hit it off after a few get-togethers.”Out of nervousness, I didn’t realise how tall she was. So the first thing I told her when I saw her heels was, ‘Didn’t you get anything higher to wear?’ and she was like ‘Excuse me?’ It was so bad, I was so nervous. But then I figured out that she was a normal person and when we got talking, I realised our backgrounds were so similar. From there on, we became friends and then gradually we started dating, it didn’t happen instantly,” he added. (ANI)

Chennai Super Kings

IPL 2023: CSK Thrash DC By 77 Runs To Qualify For Playoffs

David Warner’s fighting knock of 86 runs went in vain as Deepak Chahar and Maheesh Theekshana’s fiery spells helped Chennai Super Kings (CSK) claim a 77-run win over Delhi Capitals to qualify for playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

For DC, Warner played a lone fighting knock of 86 while other batters struggled to score runs against CSK’s aggressive bowling attack at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday. For CSK, Deepak Chahar bagged a three-wicket haul while Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana scalped two wickets each.
CSK dominated a dismal Delhi to qualify for the playoffs and gave themselves the best shot at the second spot. CSK ended their 14-match league campaign with 17 points.

Defending a target of 223, CSK bowlers gave their team an explosive start as the opening bowling pair breathed fire to dismantle DC’s innings early in the game. Tushar Deshpande drew first blood in the second over of the game. Deshpande dismissed Prithvi Shaw for 5.

Deepak Chahar then gave Delhi back-to-back two blows as he dismissed opener Philip Salt (3) and left-handed batter Rilee Rossouw for a duck.

DC captain David Warner, however, kept the scoreboard ticking for his team as he kept piling boundaries at regular intervals. Warner then brought up his crucial 50 in just 32 balls.

Experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja then brought CSK back into the game as he dismissed Yash Dhull for 13.

The left-handed batter Axar Patel then came out to bat. Warner then opened his hands and smoked seasoned all-rounder Jadeja for 23 runs with the help of four maximums and one boundary.

In the 14th over of the game, Deepak then again gave DC another blow as he dismissed Axar for 15 runs, leaving Delhi tottering at 109-5.

The right-handed batter Aman Hakim Khan then came out to bat. After 15 overs, Delhi needed 108 runs in 30 balls. Deshpande bagged his second wicket of the match as he removed Aman Hakim Khan for 7.

In the 19th over of the game, Warner’s fighting knock came to an end as he was removed by Matheesha Pathirana after scoring 86 runs.

In the last over, Maheesh Theekshana bagged back-to-back two wickets of Lalit Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav to help his team clinch a 77-run victory over Delhi Capitals.

With explosive fifties from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) posted a mammoth total of 223/3 against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday.

CSK openers gave an opening stand of 141 where Gaikwad played a brilliant knock of 79 off 50 balls followed by Conway’s blistering 87 off 52 balls. DC bowlers were disappointed with their performance as they bagged only three wickets. Khaleel Ahmed, Chetan Sakariya and Anrich Nortje took one wicket each.

Choosing to bat first, CSK got off to a solid start as in the presence of in-form batters Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway runs were brimming in the middle. With the run rate of 10 an over, both added 50 runs on the board in 5 overs.

After the end of the powerplay, CSK reached 52/2 without losing any wickets.

Ruturaj continued to impress with his batting, he clinched his fifty off 37 balls after hitting two consecutive sixes in the 10th over.

DC bowlers had no answers to the outstanding show displayed by the CSK batters. Gaikwad and Conway brought their remarkable 100-run partnership when Gaikwad hit a maximum in Kuldeep’s bowling in the 12th over. Gaikwad stuck two more sixes to Kuldeep, collecting 20 runs in his over.

Conway reached his fifty off 33 balls with style by hitting a six to Khaleel Ahmed over the deep mid-wicket in 13.1 over. DC finally got their first breakthrough after a long wait of 14.3 overs. Sakariya dismissed Gaikwad at 79 off 50 balls.

CSK were unaffected after losing Gaikwad as Conway was doing the job by collecting boundaries at regular interval of time. Shivam Dube and Conway added a quick 50 in just 17 balls.

With the dismissal of Shivam by Khaleel Ahmed in the 17.6 over, CSK skipper MS Dhoni stepped onto the crease with a loud cheer from the crowd.

Conway was dismissed by Nortje in the penultimate over after playing a brilliant knock of 87 off 52 balls.

In the last over, Dhoni faced the last three balls and posted a huge total of 223/3 in 20 overs.

Brief scores: Chennai Super Kings 223/3 (Devon Conway 87, Ruturaj Gaikwad 79, Chetan Sakariya 1-36) Vs Delhi Capitals 146/9 (David Warner 86, Axar Patel 15; Deepak Chahar 3-22). ANI)

RCB

IPL 2023: RCBs’ Collective Efforts Seal 112-Run Victory Against RR

Rajasthan Royals succumbed to the third-lowest score in the history of the Indian Premier League as Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers produced a breathtaking display with the ball to clinch the victory by 112 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

While chasing a target of 172, RR batters failed to deal with the intensity and aggression of the RCB bowlers. Mohammed Siraj set the tone of the game as he dismissed in-form batter Yashasvi Jaiswal for a two-ball duck.
Wayne Parnell came in to replace Josh Hazlewood and he didn’t disappoint with the ball as in the second over of the game he ended up dismissing RR’s backbone of the batting lineup.

Jos Buttler’s poor run with the bat continued as he followed the footsteps of his partner for a score of a two-ball duck. Sanju Samson and Joe Root tried to bring the hosts back into the game but they failed to achieve it.

RR skipper Samson played a half-committed shot which went straight into the hands of Anuj Rawat. After facing 10 balls, RR had lost their three batters for a score of 7. As Buttler and Samson became the victims of Parnell, the middle-order battlers were left with too much to do in the next 18 overs.

RR tried to string partnerships but RCB kept knocking on their door for more wickets. Former RCB player Devdutt Padikkal was next in line to return to the dugout as Michael Bracewell picked up the fourth wicket of the match. Siraj made a top-class effort to get to the ball and ensure that he took the catch cleanly.

With wickets falling like a house of cards, the English batter Root cracked under the pressure which was mounting up with every single ball. He became Parnell’s third victim after scoring 10(15).

One of the shining stars of this IPL Dhruv Jurel had the perfect opportunity to leave his mark by giving RR a chance to fight back against the odds. But Bracewell didn’t allow such a situation to unfold as he dismissed Jurel for a score of 1(7).

RR were on the brink of registering the lowest score in the history of IPL against the team which holds the unwanted record. The West Indian batter made sure to avoid such as he struck three consecutive sixes in Karna Sharma’s over.

Ravichandran Ashwin ended up losing his wicket in the 8th over as his bat was a few centimetres short of crossing the line.

After Ashwin’s departure, Hetmyer couldn’t keep up the momentum as he was dismissed by Glenn Maxwell for a score of 35(19).

After his dismissal, RR ended up losing both of their wickets in the 11th over of the game. They ended their innings with a score of 59/10.

Earlier, RCB’s in-form openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis came to bat, and they gave a solid start to the team. At the end of the powerplay, RCB were at 42/0. Faf du Plessis 23* off 199 balls and Virat Kohli 17 off 17 balls.

The duo added a 50-run partnership in 6.3 overs however, Virat dismissed quickly in the 7th over when Asif delivered a slower bowl. Virat scored 18 off 19 balls.

Glenn Maxwell then joined Faf in the middle, both together added 50 runs on the scoreboard off 38 balls. RCB brought their 100-run mark in 13.2 overs.

RCB skipper brought his seventh fifty in the season, smashing a half-century in 41 balls. But in the same over, Asif picked the scalp of Faf with a full-length delivery.

In the next over, Adam Zampa who has made his return to the team dismissed Mahipal Lomror who scored just one run facing two balls.

Maxwell clinched his fifty off 30 balls in the 16.5 over. Sandeep Sharma cleared Maxwell with a brilliant Yorker hitting the wickets in the 17.3 overs.

In the last over Anuj Rawat showed some class by hitting two consecutive sixes and one four providing RCB 171/5 in 20 overs.

Adam Zampa proved his place in the side, as he took two wickets by conceding just 25 runs. Asif also picked two scalps whereas Sandeep Sharma dismissed one batter.

Brief Scores: Rajasthan Royals 59/10 (Shimron Hetmyer 35(19), Wayne Parnell 3/10 and Michael Bracewell 2/16) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore and Royal Challengers Bangalore 171/5 (Faf du Plessis 55, Glenn Maxwell 54, Adam Zampa 2/25) vs Rajasthan Royals. (ANI)
