Ban Adipurush: All India Cine Workers’ Body Writes To PM

Om Raut’s directorial ‘Adipurush’, which is a dramatic retelling of Ramayana, has been constantly under the scanner ever since the makers released the film. All India Cine Workers Association President Suresh ShyamLal Gupta on Tuesday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding an immediate ban on the film.

Suresh ShyamLal’s letter read, “All Indian Cine Workers Association Demands Ban on Screening the Movie Adipurush, This Movies screenplay and dialogues are clearly defaming the Image of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman. Adipurush Movie is Hurting religious Sentiments of Hindus and Sanatan Dharma.”
“Prabhu Shri Ram is a God for everyone in India not matter what religious faith one comes from, this Movie Depicts lord Ram and even Ravan who looks like a Character of a video game, with dialogues hurting every Indian in the country and across the Globe. We request Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji order to stop screening this Movie and immediately order a Ban of Adipurush Screening in the Theatres and OT platforms in the Future,” the letter stated.

He also demanded an FIR against Om Raut, writer Manoj Muntasir Shukla and the producers of the movie.

“We need FIR against the Director (Om Raut), Writer (Manoj Muntasir Shukla) & the Producers of the Movie who have hurt the Hindu Sentiments and Save the Image of our Bhagwan Shri Ram, Maa Sita & Ramsevak Bhaghwan Hanuman. Actor Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali khan shouldn’t have been part of such a disgraceful movie ever made in the history of Indian Cinema, Adipurush is a complete disaster of our faith in Shri Ram and Ramayan.”

From critics to reviewers, several people from across the country have expressed disappointment over the film’s certain dialogues. Some of which include ‘marega bete’, ‘bua ka bagicha hain kya’ and ‘jalegi tere baap ki’. In the wake of such flak, the makers of ‘Adipurush’ have decided to revamp the dialogues.

On Sunday evening, Nepali capital Kathmandu’s Mayor Balendra Shah enforced a ban on Indian movies following the ‘Adipurush’ dialogue controversy. In less than an hour of the KMC Mayor’s decision, the Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya also sent letters to three movie theatres to halt the screening of all Indian movies starting Monday morning.

With orders from the mayors of both Metropolitan cities, the halls in both places have taken off the screening of Indian movies from their schedule and replaced them with Hollywood and Nepali movies. (ANI)

Mamta on Dharna Near PM House

Can Sit On Dharna Near PM House: Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who on Wednesday sat on a dharna against the central government over alleged blocking of state money, said she would sit on a dharna near the Prime Minister’s residence in the national capital, if necessary.

She said the two-day dharna was staged to protest against the BJP-led central government’s alleged discriminatory attitude towards West Bengal. Mamata said she was sitting on dharna in her capacity as the TMC chief and not as the chief minister.
“I am working for people. I am fighting for the people whose money has been stopped for 100 days’ work. I am sitting for the rights of common people whose money has been blocked by the Centre. If required, Mamata can even sit on dharma near the PM’s house. I have the courage,” the Trinamool supremo said.

“You have blocked the money by invoking a so-called Section 27. But remember, people will vote you out with section 420 in 2024. You will not come to power,” she said.

Under BJP’s rule, she said the Opposition is harassed by the central agencies.

“A babu is saying that I will send CBI and ED to your house if you speak against me,” claimed the West Bengal Chief Minister.

Attacking the BJP further, Mamata said, “There were some good people in BJP. I used to respect Atal ji a lot. But nowadays the kind of material is there…A tubewell would not be made. You are taking money in the name of GST. I will ask all the opposition parties if there is no one who is tortured. They already have started calling women from home. I say why do you spare the small child. See in which level they have gone down…From Akhilesh, Uddhav, Arvind, Lalu and KCR all are thieves and only you are sadhu.”

She said all opposition parties should fight the BJP unitedly.

The Trinamool chief said the BJP’s “double engine government” has now become “Bhajpa washing machine”.

“The so-called double-engine government has failed. BJP has turned into a washing machine. Those who do not know how to respect women, are now giving lectures about the Constitution,” she said.

“One of the BJP’s goons was saying that they would come out armed on the streets during the Ram Navami procession. We would not stop any Ram Navami procession. But remember, Ramzan is going on…The law will take its own course if you try to incite violence in Muslim-dominated areas. There is every right to carry out processions and public meetings. But no one has the right to instigate riots,” the West Bengal CM added.

Mamata alleged further that the Centre has not released funds for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) project and other schemes for the state.

The protest was held ahead of the panchayat elections in the state. (ANI)

Investing In Infrastructure To Generate Jobs In U’khand: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said his government is heavily investing in infrastructure in Uttarakhand to make life easier for people living in far-flung areas, besides generating a range of job opportunities.

Prime Minister Modi made the remark during the virtual inauguration of the ‘Rozgar Mela’ for Uttarakhand on Monday.
“Be it workers for construction, engineering, or raw material businesses and small traders, job opportunities are growing. With a rise in demand in the transport sector, youth (in Uttarakhand) are getting fresh employment opportunities,” PM Modi said.

On the migration of people from Uttarakhand to urban centres, he said improved digital and road connectivity in the hill-state will provide them with job opportunities, including in the domestic tourism sector, in their own locality.

“We have to change the old thinking which said ‘pahar ka pani aur pahar ki jawani’ doesn’t serve the locals residing in the hills. We must change it,” he said, adding there have been continuous efforts by the government to send back youth to their villages while providing them with better employment avenues.

Prime Minister Modi, on October 22, last year, launched the first phase of the ‘Rozgar Mela’, where appointment letters were handed over to more than 75,000 new recruits.

It marked the beginning of the campaign to provide 10 lakh government jobs. Since then, PM Modi has addressed similar job fairs in several states, including Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, and Maharashtra.

The recruitments are done by central ministries and departments themselves, recruitment agencies like UPSC, SSC, and the Railway Recruitment Board. (ANI)

Modi Congratulates Agniveers On Being Pioneers Of Path-Breaking Scheme

Modi Congratulates Agniveers On Being Pioneers Of Path-Breaking Scheme

Addressing the first batch of Agniveers of the three Services, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated them on being the “pioneers of the path-breaking Agnipath Scheme.”

The prime minister highlighted that this transformative policy will be a game changer in strengthening our Armed Forces and making them future-ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
Under the Agnipath scheme, announced on June 14 last year, the three services are

recruiting youths between the age bracket of 17-and-half years and 21 years for four years with a provision to retain 25 percent of them for 15 more years. For 2022, the upper age limit was extended to 23 years.

Addressing, through video conferencing, the first batch who have commenced their basic training, PM Modi affirmed that the young Agniveers will make the Armed Forces more youthful and tech-savvy.

Hailing the potential of Agniveers, he said that their spirit is reflective of the bravery of the armed forces which has always kept the flag of the nation flying high.

He said that the experience they will acquire through this opportunity will be a source of pride for life.

Prime Minister said, “New India is filled with renewed vigor, and efforts are underway to modernize our armed forces as well as make them Aatmanirbhar.”

He said that in the 21st century, the way wars are fought is changing. Discussing the new fronts of contactless warfare and challenges of cyber warfare, he said technologically-advanced soldiers will play a key role in our armed forces.

“The current generation of youth especially have this potential, and so the Agniveers will play a leading role in our armed forces in the times to come,” he said.

The prime minister also spoke about how the Agnipath scheme will further empower women. He expressed happiness at how women Agniveers are adding pride to the Naval forces and said that he looks forward to seeing women Agniveers in all three forces.

He also recalled how women are leading armed forces on various fronts, citing examples of women soldiers posted in Siachen and women driving modern fighter planes.

Modi said that getting posted in different regions will give Agniveers an opportunity to get diverse experiences and that they should try to learn different languages and also about different cultures and ways of living.

“Teamwork and honing of leadership skills will add a new dimension to their personality. He exhorted Agniveers to remain curious about learning new things while simultaneously working on bettering their skills in the fields of their choice,” the PM said.

Hailing the potential of the youth and Agniveers, Prime Minister concluded by saying that they are the ones who are going to provide leadership to the nation in the 21st century. (ANI)

Son-In-Law Will Do Best For UK: Narayana Murthy On Rishi Sunak

NR Narayana Murthy, Infosys founder and father-in-law of next UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak congratulated his son-in-law as he exuded confidence that the first Indian-origin PM will do his best for the people of the United Kingdom.

An Oxford, and Stanford University alumnae, Sunak is famously married to Akshata Murthy, the daughter of billionaire Narayana Murthy.
“Congratulations to Rishi. We are proud of him and we wish him success. We are confident he will do his best for the people of the United Kingdom,” Infosys founder said in a statement.

On Monday, Britain’s Conservative Party announced Rishi Sunak as their leader. Thereby, Rishi Sunak is now set to become the first Asian-origin person to lead the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Rishi Sunak on Monday and said he is looking forward to working closely together on global issues.

“Warmest congratulations @RishiSunak! As you become UK PM, I look forward to working closely together on global issues, and implementing Roadmap 2030. Special Diwali wishes to the ‘living bridge’ of UK Indians, as we transform our historic ties into a modern partnership,” PM Modi tweeted.

Sunak’s change in fate was triggered by the resignation of Truss after her high-profile sacking and resignation in her cabinet, following a heavily criticized mini-budget that left the UK pound tumbling.

Following Truss’s short stint as British prime minister, Rishi Sunak and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson were seen as frontrunners for the UK PM bid.

But Boris Johnson ruled himself out of the Conservative party leadership race despite claiming he had the required support. The former UK PM said he had come to the conclusion that “this would simply not be the right thing to do” as “you can’t govern effectively unless you have a united party in Parliament.”

Sunak is born in Southampton to parents of Indian descent who migrated to Britain from East Africa.

Earlier in April, reports of Akshata’s non-domicile status and alleged tax evasion had created a furor. Sunak had said his wife has been paying all taxes. Her spokesperson had earlier said that Akshata Murthy “has always and will continue to pay UK taxes on all her UK income”. (ANI)

Pak PM's Close Aide

Former Pak PM’s Close Aide Attacked In London

Rashid Nasrullah, the personal secretary of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, was attacked in Ilford town in east London on Monday.

The Dawn newspaper reported that Nasrullah filed a complaint with the police alleging that he was attacked and beaten by three men. Nasrullah said that the attackers threatened to kill him if he did not withdraw his support for Sharif.
“Another day, bullying, another police report! Imran Niazi’s group of goons threatened to kill him with a knife while going to office! Imran Khan there is still time to stop, the fire you are setting will burn it all! There will be a lot of damage. As for the demand to retreat out of fear, this can only be done by death,” he said in a tweet posted on Monday.

This incident come a few days after Pakistan Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb was heckled by overseas Pakistanis at a coffee shop in London.

A video went viral on the Internet where overseas Pakistanis were seen circling Marriyum Aurangzeb. The overseas Pakistanis criticized the minister for going on foreign visits amid flood devastation in the country.

Media reports said that overseas Pakistanis followed Marriyum out on the streets, shouting ‘chorni, chorni (thief, thief)’. The video of the entire heckling incident went viral, showing that Aurangzeb did not react to the overseas nationals’ protest and kept herself busy on her mobile phone.

Several federal ministers came forward to Marriyum’s defence, saying that she handled the situation with “grace and composure”, Dawn reported.

Aurangzeb was reportedly harassed and bullied by former PM Imran Khan’s supporters in a shop, the report said.

A woman in the video was seen saying Aurangzeb “makes grand claims on television there but here she does not carry a dupatta on her head.”

This comes amid frequent reports of clashes and heckling between PML-N and PTI workers in London. Their exchanges can often become heated but this was one of the rare incidents of a physical assault, the Pakistan newspaper said.

Earlier in April, PTI activists reportedly attempted to attack Nawaz Sharif outside his office, but were thwarted by his bodyguards. (ANI)

BJP Trying To Make Sonia PM Through Backdoor: Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday attacked BJP in poll-bound Gujarat and alleged that the party is trying to make Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi as the “Prime Minister through the backdoor” and “successor” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kejriwal was responding to a question about BJP leaders stating that social activist Medha Patkar would be AAP’s chief ministerial candidate in the Gujarat assembly polls.
“I have heard that BJP will make Sonia Gandhi as the PM candidate after PM Modi. Ask them what they have to say on this. Ask them that Kejriwal has alleged that you are going to make Sonia Gandhi PM candidate and the successor to PM Modi at the national level. What do they have to say on this? The BJP is trying to make Sonia Gandhi the PM of the country through the backdoor. Ask them this question,” Kejriwal said.

The BJP has sought to make Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) founder Medha Patkar’s past ties with AAP a poll issue in Gujarat. Party leaders have said that Patkar opposed Narmada project and have talked of “renewed ties” between her and AAP.

Kejriwal alleged that the BJP “has not done anything” for the development of Gujarat and claimed it has “no programme for the next five years”.

Kejriwal also claimed that the Congress party is “finished” in Gujarat. “Congress is finished. You should stop taking their questions. People no more care about their questions,” Kejriwal said in response to a query.

The AAP leader has earlier urged the people not to “waste their votes” on Congress. After its victory in the held Punjab Assembly elections earlier this year, AAP is seeking to expand its footprint in other states.

Gujarat will face assembly polls later this year. (ANI)
