First Time, An All-Women Tri-Services Contingent Taking Part In Parade: Major Gen Mehta

Major General Sumit Mehta on Tuesday said that in the Republic Day Parade, for the first time, an all-women tri-services contingent will take part which will include women troops of the Army’s military police along with women from the other two services.

The 75th Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path to be women-centric; ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka’ are the main themes.

“Republic Day parade to start from 10:30 am on January 26 from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path. The parade commander would be Delhi Area Commander Lt Gen Bhavnish Kumar. For the first time, an all-women tri-services contingent will take part in the parade which will include women troops of the Army’s military police along with women from the other two services,” he said.

“Three of the two living Param Vir Chakra awardees including Captain Yogendra Yadav and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar would be taking part in the Republic Day parade,” he added.

Major General Mehta further said that the French contingent which includes Indian and Nepali origin members, will also march during the parade. A French refuel aircraft along with two French Rafale aircraft will fly over them.

“A variety of new generation vehicles including Terrain Vehicles, Light Specialist Vehicles, and Special Mobility Vehicles would be taking part. The ALH Dhruv Rudra and LCH Prachand will be taking part in the flypast. The Indian Air Force flypast will include 51 planes including fighters, helicopters and transport aircraft. This will have 15 women in the planes,” he said.

The main attractions will include the Aahvan by blowing of Shankhs (Conch shells),

French President Emmanuel Macron will be the Chief guest at the Republic Day festivities. This is the sixth time, a French president has been the chief guest at the Republic Day parade, it is also the second time the French contingent taking part in the parade.

This year women participation is very high. Around 13,000 Special Guests have also been invited to witness the parade this year. The objective is to provide an opportunity to the people from all walks of life to take part in the national festival, in line with the Government’s vision of Jan Bhagidari. (ANI)

1st Prize In R-Day: Dhami Announces Rs 50K To Each U’khand Tableau Artist

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a reward money of Rs 50,000 each to the artists of Uttarakhand tableau which was awarded the top prize at this year’s Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path.

Uttarakhand’s ‘Manskhand’ tableau showcased religious places and the progressive developments of the state during the 74th Republic Day parade on January 26.
Dhami announced an amount of Rs 50,000 to each artist involved in the making of the tableau.

“The rich folk culture and religious heritage of the state has been recognized in the country and the world by Uttarakhand’s tableau getting the first position on the occasion of Republic Day,” the CM said.

According to an official statement, the chief minister announced the award when the team leader of the tableau, Joint Director Information KS Chauhan, along with the artists of the tableau met Dhammi at his residence on Wednesday.

“The Chief Minister told about the honour for the state on Uttarakhand getting the first prize for the Manaskhand tableau,” the statement said.

Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari also presented the top prize trophy at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office at his residence.

The tableau on Manaskhand was proposed after the guidance of Chief Minister Dhami, it said.

On the lines of Shri Kedarnath and Shri Badrinath, work is being done on the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission scheme for the mythological temples of Kumaon on the instructions of the Chief Minister, it added.

Earlier, speaking to ANI, DG Information Uttarakhand, Banshidhar Tiwari said, “It is a matter of great pride for Uttarakhand, that among the 27 tableaux which participated on Republic Day, the Manskhand tableau of Uttarakhand got the first position.”

“The work for tableau construction started on December 31. It used to go from 4 am to 12 at midnight. Also, the artists had to go with the team leader at 4 am for the duty path rehearsal in the harsh winter,” he added. (ANI)

CAPF Tableau Bags Popular Choice Category, CRPF Best Marching Contingent

The Ministry of Home Affairs’ Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) tableau was on Monday declared best among central ministries and departments in the popular choice category at this year’s Republic Day Parade while the CRPF has been adjudged the best marching contingent.

The tableau displayed the multidimensional role and valour of CAPF women personnel performing challenging duties.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been declared as the best marching contingent among the CAPFs and other auxiliary forces.

“Ministry of Home Affairs CAPFs tableau in Republic Day Parade 2023 declared the Best Tableau among Central Ministries/Departments in the Popular Choice category. The tableau displayed the multidimensional role and valour of CAPF Women personnel performing challenging duties,” Press Information Bureau (PIB) tweeted following the results declared by the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

“Double delight for CRPF as the @crpfindia Marching contingent on Republic Day Parade 2023 declared ‘Best Marching Contingent among CAPFs and other auxiliary forces’ by both Panel of Judges and Popular Choice,” the PIB mentioned in another tweet.

Three panels of judges were appointed for assessing the performance of marching contingents from three services, marching contingents from CAPF and other auxiliary forces and tableaux from various states and Union Territories and ministries or departments, an MoD statement said.

The declaration was made on the basis of the assessment of the panels. (ANI)
