Anurag Thakur

Will Win All 80 Seats UP: Anurag

Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday exuded confidence over BJP’s victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and asserted that this time the party will win all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and set a new record.

Thakur emphasized the BJP’s historical success in Uttar Pradesh and asserted that the BJP would not only sweep all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh but also secure over 400 seats nationwide, thereby reinstating PM Modi as the Prime Minister of India.

“Earlier too, the BJP has won from Uttar Pradesh and I have full confidence that the party will emerge victorious this time too. This time BJP will win all 80 seats from Uttar Pradesh, and the party will secure 400 plus (char sau paar) seats all over the country and PM Modi will be the Prime Minister once again,” Anurag Thakur said.

Highlighting the fading influence of the Nehru-Gandhi family in Uttar Pradesh, Thakur said, “The big state like UP had given votes to four generations of Nehru-Gandhi family, and today no one is listening to them in UP. Nehru-Gandhi family has bid farewell to UP, so it’s natural to be frustrated and disappointed”.

In a veiled jibe at the INDIA bloc, Anurag Thakur said, “Overall the alliance is a ‘Thugbandhan’. Congress and its allies are habitual of criticising religious places. Sometimes insulting Lord Rama, sometimes talking about crushing Sanatana Dharma and sometimes talking about dividing North and South. What kind of thinking does Congress and its allies have?, he said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched an attack on the Congress party’s dynastic politics and said that unlike the opposition alliance, which believes in putting “family first,” he puts the country first and everything that he does is for the welfare of the nation.

Addressing a public gathering in Sangareddy in Telangana, the Prime Minister said, “they (dynastic family) say that they have ideological differences with me. They believe in ‘Family First’, and I believe in ‘Nation First’. For them, their family is everything; for me, my country is everything. They sacrifice the Nation for the welfare of their family; I have sacrificed myself for the welfare of the Nation,” PM Modi had said. (ANI)

Dr. Harsh Vardhan

Denied BJP Ticket, Harsh Vardhan Quits Politics

Day after being replaced from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha seat, which he held since 2014, with Praveen Khandelwal, senior BJP leader and former Union Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, announced on Sunday that he was quitting active politics.

“After over thirty years of a glorious electoral career, during which I won all the five assembly and two parliamentary elections that I fought with exemplary margins, and held a multitude of prestigious positions in the party organisation and the governments at the state and centre I finally bow out to return to my roots,” the senior BJP leader ppsted from his official X handle on Sunday.

On his future endeavours, Dr Vardhan said he wanted to devote more time to his work against tobacco consumption, substance abuse, and climate change. Also a medical professional, he also hinted at a return to his ENT clinic at Krishna Nagar.

“I shall continue to pursue my work against tobacco and substance abuse, against climate change and teaching simple and sustainable lifestyles. A big shout out for all those who stood by me like a rock while I clocked many firsts and led a fulfilled political life. I move on, I really can’t wait. I have promises to keep .. and miles to go before I sleep !! I have a dream .. and I know your blessings shall always remain with me. My ENT clinic at Krishna Nagar too awaits my return,” he posted further.

He said ‘service to mankind’ was his motto when he pursued MBBS at GSVM Medical College, adding that he forayed into active politics 50 years ago afrer being convinced by the then leadership of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the BJP ideological mentor, to take the plunge.

He said politics, for him, meant an opportunity to “fight our three main enemies–poverty, disease and ignorance”.

“Service to mankind was my motto when I joined MBBS in GSVM Medical College, Kanpur fifty years back with a desire to help the poor and needy. A swayamsewak at heart, I have always been an ardent admirer of Deen Dayal Upadhyay ji’s Antodaya philosophy of striving to serve the last man in the queue. It was at the insistence of the then RSS leadership that I jumped into the electoral fray. They could convince me only because for me politics meant opportunity to fight our three main enemies – poverty, disease and ignorance,” the BJP leader posted further.

“Without remorse, I must say that it has been a marvelous innings during which my passion to serve the common man was quenched. I served as Delhi Health Minister as well as twice Union Health Minister, a subject close to my heart. I had the rare opportunity bestowed upon me to be able to first work towards creating a polio-free Bharat and then to take care of the health of millions of our countrymen grappling with the dreaded Covid-19 during its first and second phases,” he added.

He said he was among to have been granted the “privilege to defend their people in hours of gravest danger”, adding that he can proudly proclaim that he didn’t “shirk responsibility but welcomed it”.

“In the long history of mankind, only a few have been granted the privilege to defend their people in hours of gravest danger! And I can proudly claim that I didn’t shirk responsibility but welcomed it. My gratitude to Ma Bharati, my reverence to my fellow citizens and my obeisance to the values enshrined in our Constitution. And yes, that was the biggest privilege that Bhagwan Shri Ram bestowed upon me, the privilege of being able to save human lives !!,” he said.

Coming out in praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the former Union Minister said he was honoured to have worked alongside “one of India’s most impactful prime ministers in recent history”.

Affirming the country wants to bring PM Modi back for a third straight term in office, the BJP veteran said, “I would like to thank all my party karyakartas, my fans and supporters amongst the common citizens as well as my party leaders .. all of whom have contributed to this remarkable journey spanning over three decades. I must acknowledge that I consider it a great privilege to have worked closely with the most dynamic Prime Minister in India’s history, Shri Narendra Modi ji. The country wishes him a heroic return to power again.” (ANI)

Giriraj Singh

No One Has Right To Take Law Into Hands: Giriraj On Haldwani Violence

In the wake of violence in Uttarakhand’s Haldwani on Friday, Union Minister Giriraj Singh stated that no individual has the right to take the law into their own hands, regardless of the circumstances.

Singh expressed confidence in the Uttarakhand government’s ability to handle any such transgressions effectively.

“No one has the right to take the law into their own hands. Be it religious circumstances or any other reason, The Uttarakhand government is able, and if anyone takes the law into their hands, they will handle it perfectly,” the union minister told ANI.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level meeting with officials today to review the situation in Banbhoolpura, Haldwani after violence broke out following an anti-encroachment drive.

During the meeting, CM Dhami gave orders to take strict action against the rioters and miscreants.

Security has been heightened in the area.

Nainital District Magistrate Vandana Singh termed the incident unfortunate and assured that the accused will be identified and strict action will be taken against them.

Singh emphasized that the incident was not communal and urged everyone to refrain from making it a communal or sensitive issue. She clarified that no particular community was involved in the retaliation.

“The police station has been completely damaged by the mob…This is an unfortunate incident. The accused will be identified and strict action will be taken. This (incident) was not communal. I request everybody to not make it communal or sensitive. Any particular community did not retaliate…This was an effort to challenge the state machinery, the state government, and the law and order situation. A briefing will be done again in the evening,” she said.

Refuting claims that a madrasa was demolished in the anti-encroachment drive, the District Magistrate specified that it was an empty property.

“It was an empty property that has two structures, which are not registered as religious structures or have been given any such recognition. Some call the structure a madrasa,” she said.

The Magistrate said the demolition drive started peacefully but stones were pelted at the Municipal Corporation’s team. The DM said the attack on the forces was planned.

“The demolition drive started peacefully; the force was deployed for prevention…Stones were pelted on our municipal corporation’s team…It was planned that the day the demolition drive will be conducted, the forces would be attacked…The first mob with stones was dispersed and the second mob that came in had petrol bombs. This was unprovoked and our team did not use any force…” she said.

“You can see (in the video) that the police force and the administration are not provoking or harming anybody,” she added.

The DM said, after the HC’s order, action was taken against encroachment at various places adding that this was not an isolated activity and was not targeted at a particular asset.

“After the HC’s order, action has been taken against encroachment at various places in Haldwani…Everyone was given notice and time for hearing…Some did approach the HC some were given time while some were not given time. Where time was not given demolition drive was conducted by PWD & Municipal Corporation. This was not an isolated activity and was not targeted to a particular asset,” she said.

“We decided to continue the demolition drive because there was no stay on the assets…A legal process to remove the encroachment is being carried out at various places and so it was done here too…Our teams and resources moved and nobody was provoked or harmed…No actions were taken (by Police and administration) to cause harm to life and property…The demolition drive began peacefully…Despite the entire process being carried out properly, a large mob, within half an hour attacked our municipal cooperation team,” she said.

Further, the DM claimed that efforts were made (by the mob) to terrorize the area. Our priority was to protect the police station and then ensure that no loss of life or property occurred in Gandhi Nagar

“Maximum force was used for the protest of the police station…As soon as they (the mob) were dispersed from the police station, they headed to the Gandhi Nagar area…People from all communities and religions stay there…Efforts were made (by the mob) to terrorize the area…Our priority was to protect the police station and then ensure that no loss of life or property occurred in Gandhi Nagar…Our efforts were directed to protect the main city of Haldwani,” she said.

The DM said tear gas and water cannons were used only to safeguard the police station.

“Later, the police station was surrounded by the mob and those inside the police station were not allowed to come out. They were first pelted with stones and then attacked by petrol bombs. The vehicles outside the station were set on fire, & due to the smoke, there was suffocation due to the smoke. Tear gas and water cannons were used only to safeguard the police station,” she said.

“According to official information till now, two people have died,” DM Singh said.

Two people died and over 100 police personnel were injured after violence erupted in Haldwani’s Banbhoolpura area on Thursday during an anti-encroachment drive.

Following the unrest, the state government has issued a high alert for the entire state. Meanwhile, the district administration has ordered the suspension of internet services and the closure of all schools and colleges. (ANI)

Rajeev Chandrasekhar Artificial Intelligence

Most Countries Agreeing What India Was Saying On AI Regulation: Chandrasekhar

Union Minister of State for Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Wednesday said most countries are now coming out and saying what India has always been saying on regulating Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies.

India’s stance has been that the internet and every other emerging technology should be deployed in a “safe and trusted” manner.

The Union minister today met Viscount Camrose, UK’s Minister of AI and Intellectual Property and Hiroshi Yoshida, Japan’s Vice Minister of Policy Coordination, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

After the meeting, Minister Rajeev said they spoke about what governments are looking, how governments of like-minded countries are looking at regulating AI, what are the issues of safety and trust that governments are looking at, and what are the governments’ role in enabling the growth of AI.

“So think it was a very interesting conversation. And what India has been saying for now several months and years about making sure that the Internet and indeed every emerging technology is deployed in a safe and trusted manner is a thought that most countries are now coming around to and agreeing with,” Rajeev Chandrasekhar told reporters.

Meanwhile, Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence summit, running from December 12 to 14, is being hosted here in the national capital, where influential minds from various sectors have gathered to discuss and collaborative the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI).

Since its inception in June 2020, India has made significant contributions to this Summit by actively engaging in various initiatives to foster the development, deployment, and adoption of open, safe, secure, and accountable AI.

The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence is an international initiative established to guide the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence in a manner that respects human rights and the shared democratic values of its members.

Ahead of the summit, PM Modi asserted that Artificial Intelligence (AI) was one area where its applications were expanding at an exponential rate.

“This revolutionary technology is now in the hands of a new generation – young, brilliant minds who are swiftly enriching its vast potential. India, as one of the youngest nations with a vibrant start-up ecosystem and a talented workforce, is poised to be an active contributor to the evolution of AI as the world leaps into a not-so-distant future” the PM had said in his LinkedIn post.

“In the last 9-10 years, India and its citizens have leap-frogged with the help of technology. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that India achieved, in a matter of few years, what took other countries a generation. This was possible through the fast-paced penetration of mobiles along with internet connectivity and scalable models for digital inclusion” the PM further wrote.

Later speaking at the summit on Wednesday, PM Modi raised concerns over deep fake and other cons of artificial intelligence.

PM Modi said that the deep fake challenge is for the entire world as it could be used to create ‘deepfakes’ to purposefully spread false information or have malicious intent behind their use.

If AI enables arms to reach the hands of terror groups, then it could have a devastating effect, and the world needs to think about it, the Prime Minister said. (ANI)

The central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called a meeting of chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of BJP-ruled states on June 11 in New Delhi, said a party source.

According to the party sources, the agenda of the meeting is likely on upcoming assembly elections and 2024 Lok Sabha and Union Minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda and BL Santosh along with state organisation secretaries will be present in the meeting.

On Wednesday JP Nadda held a special ‘Tiffin Meeting’ with party workers in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar, and instructed party workers to remain grounded and find different ways to win the hearts of people.

“At the tiffin meet BJP chief JP Nadda gave an important mantra to party new and old workers and said to party workers that they have to remain grounded and find different ways to win people’s hearts,” a BJP source told ANI.

On the occasion, JP Nadda urged the party workers to remain self-disciplined and be united with each other. “BJP chief told workers that self-discipline is very required for all of us to leave arrogance, and make sure your accountability is there. Don’t be small-hearted, stop showing off to others and be united with each other,” the party source said.

Union Minister Asks Nitish To Sack Anti-National Minister

Union Minister Asks Nitish To Sack Anti-National Minister

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, on Friday demanded that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sack RJD leader and state minister Surendra Yadav for his ‘objectionable’ remark on Army jawans.

The RJD leader on Thursday said, “Exactly 8.5 yrs from today, our army would be seen as
Hijdon ki Fauj
(an army of ennuchs). This is because our serving jawans will have retired by then and the training of the Agniveers will still be going on. Whoever came up with this idea (of recruiting jawans through the ‘Agnipath’ scheme) should be hanged.”
Hitting back at the Bihar minister over his remark, on Friday, Rai told ANI, “Surendra Yadav’s statement, as a cabinet minister, is highly objectionable. Our Army is renowned for its bravery. It is regrettable and highly objectionable for a sitting minister to say that our Army will be turn into a force of ennuchs.”

“That Surendra Yadav continues to be a minister even after making such a crass and objectionable remark is a direct insult to our Army and jawans by the Nitish Kumar government. It only goes to show the anti-national character of the RJDand JDU (ruling allies in Bihar),” Rai said.

“Nitish-ji and Tejashwi-ji should know that our Army has always been known for its bravery and sacrifice and the country will not tolerate any insult to our armed forces. I want to ask to Nitish-ji if he has any sense of nationalism or patriotism left in him. If yes, he should immediately sack this anti-national minister, who has denigrated the Army with his statement,” Rai added.

“I also want to tell Tejashwi Yadav (RJD chief and Bihar deputy CM) that Surendra Yadav may be a big leader of his party, but he should be expelled for such an objectionable statement against the Army. And if he doesn’t, the RJD’s character will stand exposed before our countrymen as well as our jawans,” he added.

The RJD leader and state minister had further said, “When they (Agniveers) turn 25 26 and receive marriage proposals, what will they say? I am a retired soldier. Who will marry them then?”

“Whoever came up with this scheme, should be hanged. He deserves no lesser punishment,” Yadav added.

Under the Agnipath scheme launched on June 14 last year, the three services will recruit ‘Agniveers’, in the age group of 17.5 and 21 years, for four years with a provision to retain 25 per cent of them for a further 15 years.

However, for recruitment of ‘Agnivers’ in 2022, the upper age limit was extended to 23 years. (ANI)

Smriti Slams Billionaire Investor George Soros

Smriti Slams Billionaire Investor George Soros

Hitting back at George Soros over his speech at the Munich Security Conference, Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani on Friday slammed the billionaire investor saying the man who broke the Bank of England and a man, who is designated as an economic war criminal, has now expressed his desire to break the Indian democracy.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP’s Delhi headquarters on Friday, the Union minister said, “George Soros, who hedges bets against many countries, has now made known his ill intentions in the democratic processes of India.”
She added that Soros wants a government that is pliable to his needs for making his nefarious plans successful.

“It is evident from his statements that he has pronounced funding over one billion dollars to target leaders like PM Modi. This is significant,” The Minister said during the conference.

She said, “Those who support Soros need to know that democracy has prevailed in India and continues to do so and as a party worker of the BJP, I can say that these designs to weaken Indian democracy will be met by the might of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Soros at the Munich Security Conference on Thursday said Prime Minister Modi would be weakened by the stock woes of business tycoon and alleged close ally Gautam Adani, “opening the door” to a democratic revival in the country.

The 92-year-old billionaire philanthropist said in a speech on Thursday that Modi would “have to answer questions” from foreign investors and Parliament on allegations of fraud and stock manipulation at Adani’s industrial empire, noting that PM Modi had been “silent” on the topic.

Adani Group has come under fierce scrutiny since US short-seller Hindenburg Research accused the company of engaging in “brazen stock manipulation and accounting fraud” over decades. (ANI)
