‘Thankful to CM Yogi That FIRs on Agnipath Protestors Will be Quashed’

Dhirendra Singh, Legislator from Jewar Assembly seat who demanded withdrawal of FIRs against misguided youth protesting Agnipath scheme, expresses his gratitude. His views:

There are moments in public life when one must rise above politics and listen to the heartbeat of the people. As a public representative, I firmly believe that trust is the greatest asset a leader can earn. Over the last few years, I have witnessed both the aspirations of our youth and the sacrifices of our farmers shaping the direction of Uttar Pradesh in remarkable ways.

When the Agnipath scheme was introduced by the Government of India, its intention was noble—to inspire young citizens to experience the honour of serving the nation. However, several youths were misled by forces determined to tarnish the government’s image. They were provoked into taking to the streets, and in the heat of the moment, public property was damaged. As a result, over 50 FIRs were registered across 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Deep down, I knew these young people were not criminals. They were confused, emotional, and caught in a moment shaped by misinformation. At a sensitive age where their careers should be taking flight, carrying the burden of an FIR could darken their entire future.

This is why I raised my voice in the State Assembly and demanded that these FIRs be withdrawn. I argued that forgiveness and understanding were more important than punishment. Today, with the honorable Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji agreeing to this demand, I feel proud—not for myself, but for the future that has been safeguarded for hundreds of families.

At the same time, our region has been witnessing a transformation unlike anything seen before. On 27 November 2025, Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu ji visited Jewar to review the preparations for the inauguration of the Noida International Airport. The Chief Minister personally inspected the progress and issued necessary directions to ensure that all pre-operational arrangements are completed with precision.

Standing there, I felt immense pride. The Noida International Airport is not merely an airport—it is a historic step that will open the doors to holistic development for the entire region. And if anyone deserves the greatest credit, it is our farmers. Their cooperation, sacrifice, and farsightedness laid the foundation for this dream. They parted with their land, not reluctantly, but with trust that this project would bring progress not only to their families but to generations yet to come.

Once the airport becomes operational, the region will experience an explosion of opportunities—employment, business, transport, education, tourism, and international investment. A new economic corridor will rise from Jewar, and its benefits will directly reach our youth and local families.

To me, this airport is more than infrastructure—it is a living symbol of the farmers’ faith, the Chief Minister’s unwavering commitment, and the collective dreams of the people of Jewar. The journey has not been easy, but every milestone reminds us that when people and leadership walk together, history is created.
