No Difference In AAP & BJP; Their Mother Is RSS: Owaisi

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi

Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday equated Aam Aadmi Party with Bharatiya Janata Party claiming both parties are ideologically aligned and linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Speaking to the media, Owaisi described BJP as a product of the RSS and referred to AAP as a “lab-grown” creation from its formative years.

“There is no difference between (BJP and AAP). Both are ideologically alike. RSS is their mother. RSS created Jan Sangh and later BJP was formed in 1980. The other was grown in 2012-13 in a big institute and it is lab-grown,” he said.

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections 2025, the battle between the AAP, BJP and Congress has become intense, with all three parties levelling allegations on each other.

The assembly elections in Delhi are due in February and the dates for the same are expected to be announced in a few days.

Aam Aadmi Party has already announced candidates for all the 70 seats for the upcoming assembly polls.

The BJP has released its first list of 29 candidates on Saturday with Parvesh Verma to contest from the New Delhi assembly seat against AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal.

Former Lok Sabha MP Parvesh Verma will contest against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Congress’s Sandip Dixit from the New Delhi seat in a three-cornered contest.

Dushyant Gautam from Karol Bagh, Dushyant Gautam is also holding the BJP national general secretary position.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa from Rajouri Garden, Kailash Gehlot from Bijwasan, Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhi Nagar.

BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri will contest against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi from Kalkaji.

Parvesh Verma has been asked to strengthen the BJP organisation in New Delhi. Earlier he told ANI that he is ready to fight against Arvind Kejriwal.

Aam Aadmi Party had won 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 assembly elections. In the assembly elections held in 2015, it came to power with full majority by winning 67 out of 70 seats. (ANI)
