BJP welcomes Ajay Maken

BJP MP Welcomes Maken Quitting As Cong Rajasthan Incharge

A day after senior Congress leader and former Union minister Ajay Maken stepped down as the party’s Rajasthan in-charge, BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena welcomed his decision and said he would have been stuck between two raging bulls had he remained in the post.

Maken’s move came amid a continuing and bitter tussle between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot.
The tussle came to a head again in the lead-up to the polls to elect the Congress national president, as Gehlot, who has initially seen a frontrunner for the post, pulled out in the face of a rebellion by his loyalist MLAs who wanted him to continue as CM.

Maken had earlier written to octogenarian Dalit leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who was recently elected the party’s first non-Gandhi national president in 24 years, expressing his unwillingness to continue in his post as the Congress’ Rajasthan in-charge.

Speaking to ANI after presiding over a function in Dausa, Meena said, “If Maken hadn’t taken this step, he would have been stuck in the fight between two raging bulls.”

The BJP Rajya Sabha MP added that with the next Assembly elections in the state not too far away, the infighting in the party (between Gehlot and Pilot) will only get more intense in the coming days. (ANI)

Akhilesh Writes To EC About Tampering Voters List In UP

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav alleged that a large number of supporters of Samajwadi Party voters were “wrongly removed” from the voter list in the 2022 assembly elections in which the party lost to BJP earlier this year.

In a six-page letter to the Election Commission Akhilesh Yadav demanded an inquiry on the alleged cases of tampering with voter lists.

Akhilesh Yadav sent the documents including the proof of those names and the reply to the complaints made to the Chief Electoral Officer, Lucknow, and the Chief Election Commissioner, New Delhi in this regard.

“A demand was made to investigate the information received from workers, supporters, citizens, and media reports about depriving voters of voting, but no investigation was done,” read the letter from the SP chief.

He has also demanded the inclusion of a representative of the Samajwadi Party at the time of the investigation. (ANI)

Chhattisgarh: Cong Creates Hatred Towards Hinduism, says BJP

After the video of a Congress mayor in Chhattisgarh criticising Hindu deities at an event went viral on the internet, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said on Wednesday that the Congress’ only intention is to spread hatred towards Hinduism.

Trivedi was addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
“Today, a video from Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh came to the fore, in which Congress’ Mayor is seen making derogatory remarks about Hindu deities,” the BJP spokesperson said, adding that Congress’ only intention is to spread hatred towards Hinduism and humiliate them.

A video has surfaced on social media, in which an anti-Hindu oath is being administered at an event. According to reports, a state-level Buddhism conference was organized in the Mohra ward of Rajnandgaon. People at large are seen taking an oath not to believe in Hindu gods and goddesses.

After the purported video filled with blasphemous statements, the BJP is now asking for detailed clarification over the incident from the Congress party.

Recently, the former working president of the party’s Karnataka unit Satish Jarkiholi’s statement against Hindus went viral. The BJP spokesperson said, “Two days ago the former working president of Congress party in Karnataka used a derogatory word for the word Hindu. It needs to be investigated what mantra Rahul Gandhi is whispering in the ears of people in his Bharat Jodo Yatra.”

“I feel the general public is discerning whatever is happening in the country. The Prime Minister said that the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ will dissolve all the poison in it. The so-called Param Shiv Bhakt Hindu, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should come up and speak on the matter,” Sudhanshu Trivedi said in the press briefing. (ANI)

Morbi Tragedy Brought Shame To Gujarat: Chidambaram

Veteran Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday said the bridge collapse in Morbi has painted a bad picture of Gujarat and the most shocking part was that no one from the government apologized for the tragedy.

“Morbi bridge collapse has brought shame to the fair name of Gujarat…The most shocking development is that no one, on behalf of the govt, has apologized for the tragedy. No one has resigned from taking responsibility,” Chidambaram told reporters.
At least 135 people were killed and over 100 injured after a cable suspension bridge in Morbi town collapsed on October 30, plunging people into the Machchhu river.m

Further, when asked about prospects of emerging parties (such as AAP) contesting elections in Gujarat, Chidambaram said no one would vote for the party after seeing Delhi’s deteriorating air quality.

“If you’ve lived in Delhi as long as I’ve lived and if you believe the air in Delhi (is poor), you’ll not vote for Arvind Kejriwal in Gujarat,” said Chidambaram. (ANI)

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

Bjp To Finalise Tickets For Gujarat Polls On Wednesday

The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold a meeting of its Central Election Committee (CEC) on Wednesday evening in a bid to finalise the first list of candidates for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly polls.

This meeting will take place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and BJP state president CR Patil and other members of the CEC and the state unit.
The meeting is scheduled at the party headquarters in Delhi.

“An initial round of the meeting has taken place at the state headquarters in Gandhinagar over three days during which a shortlist of candidates has already been prepared which will be brought for consideration and finalisation to the CEC,” a source told ANI.

“Ahead of the meeting of the CEC, the BJP Gujarat core group will also have a separate meeting with JP Nadda and Amit Shah,” another source told ANI.

Another source told ANI, “Since all the central and state leadership may be present during this meeting. It is also likely that a separate discussion will take place with the top brass on planning the campaigning for the upcoming polls especially with PM Narendra Modi having instructed them to target the highest poll numbers ever.”

Gujarat has been a BJP bastion for decades together. BJP is seeking its sixth term in office.

Before becoming the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was Gujarat’s longest serving Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014.

On November 3, the election commission of India announced the election dates for Gujarat.

Polling will take place on two dates in two phases on December 1 and December 5 respectively.

In the first phase, polling will be held for 89 seats while the second phase will see voting for 93 seats. The term of the 182-member state Assembly ends on February 18, 2023.

The state of Gujarat has seen a traditional face-off between the ruling BJP and its traditional rival Congress party. However in the upcoming elections a new entrant, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is being keenly watched in the poll fray. (ANI)

Bypolls 2022 BJP in Gopalganj

Bypolls 2022: RJD Wins Mokama, BJP In Gopalganj, Gola Gokarannath

With a margin of 16,741 votes, Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Neelam Devi has successfully managed to register her victory at the Mokama assembly by-election in Bihar.

Mokama, which has always been a stronghold of Neelam Devi’s husband Anant Singh since 2005, had seen a major contest between BJP and RJD as it was the first election that took place after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar parted his ways with BJP and joined hands with RJD and Congress to form a Grand Alliance government, here.
The disqualification of Anant Singh in the gopalganj

Arms Act case had necessitated the by-elections here for which the BJP had fielded Sonam Devi as its candidate who garnered a total of 62,939 votes.

Notably, Neelam Devi won the seat with 79,646 votes.

Earlier in the day, Neelam Devi had said that her victory was certain and this election has merely been a “formality”.

“My victory was certain. I had already said there is nobody else in my contest. It was just a formality. Mokama is the land of Parshuram, people won’t get lured. Vidhayak Ji (Anant Singh) had served the people. They are giving the result now,” RJD’s Neelam Devi said.

Meanwhile, in the Gopalganj constituency of the state, RJD’s Mohan Prasad Gupta was defeated by BJP candidate Kusum Devi with a margin of 1,794 votes despite taking an early lead and witnessing a neck-and-neck fight here.

Kusum Devi said that she will carry forward the incomplete development works here.

“The entire Gopalganj district is with me. Victory for everyone is my victory. I will carry forward the development work that did not get completed. I was blessed by everyone,” BJP’s Kusum Devi said after winning the Gopalganj by-election.

Notably, this was the first face-off between BJP and Mahagathbandhan ever since it was formed in Bihar as Nitish Kumar took oath for the eighth time here by joining hands with JDU, Congress, and other political parties in the state.

National General Secretary (Org) BL Santosh congratulated the BJP for registering victory in Bihar’s Gopalganj and Gola Gokarannath in Uttar Pradesh.

He called the win a “huge victory” of BJP leaders here.

“Huge wins for @BJP4India candidates Sri Aman Giri in Gol Gorakhnath, UP & Smt Kusum Devi in Gopalganj, Bihar. Congratulations Team @BJP4UP & Team @BJP4Bihar. Victory is specially sweet in Bihar where BJP was up against united ruling coalition,” his tweet read.

BJP candidate Aman Giri registered his victory in the Gola Gokarannath seat in Uttar Pradesh defeating Samajwadi Party’s Vinay Tiwari.

The BJP was seeking to retain the Gola Gokarannath seat in Uttar Pradesh, which fell vacant after the death of BJP MLA Arvind Giri in September.

With the BSP and the Congress keeping away from the by-polls, the fight was between the BJP’s Aman Giri and the SP candidate and former Gola Gokarannath MLA Vinay Tiwari.

The Uttar Pradesh BJP congratulated Aman Giri and wished him a successful tenure ahead.

“Many congratulations and best wishes to Shri Aman Giri on his victory in Gola Gokarnath by-election. We wish you a successful tenure,” the UP BJP said in a Hindi tweet. (ANI)

Mamata Arrested

Mamata May Be Arrested Soon: Sukanta Majumdar

West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar made huge revelations against the Mamata Banerjee-led government and claimed that the TMC supremo may be arrested soon.

“Mamata Banerjee may be arrested by December. 41 TMC people’s names are with top leadership. The government will fall in December,” said Majumdar.
BJP leader and film star Mithun Chakraborty had also claimed to be in touch with TMC MLAs.

“I am in touch with 21 MLAs of Mamata Banerjee’s party, I said this earlier and again, I stand by my point. I request you just wait for the time,” added Mithun Chakraborty.

West Bengal BJP Vice President Dilip Ghosh called out Mamata Banerjee’s inauguration of Durga Puja during “Pitru Paksha”.

“Mamata Banerjee is destroying the sanctity of Durga Puja by inaugurating the puja in Pitru Paksha, all the works of Mamata Banerjee are wrong, that is why there was a mistake in chanting the mantra while worshipping Goddess Durga,” said Ghosh.

Earlier, the Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari said that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) won’t last even for the next six months in the state.

His remarks came after the ruling party put up posters claiming that a “new and reformed TMC” come in the next six months.

“Enforcement Directorate(ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are doing their job. This party (TMC) will not last for even six months, December is their deadline,” LoP Suvendu Adhikari had said in Purba Medinipur.

Meanwhile, Mousumi Das, district Vice President of Mahila Morcha Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) was allegedly attacked by “Trinamool Congress-backed” goons at her residence in the Malatipur area of Malda on September 23.

However, Shuvomoay Basu, spokesperson of Trinamool Congress (TMC), Malda, refuted the allegation. He said, “We have faith in the police investigation. They will find out the reason behind the attack if it has happened.”

Bengal BJP leaders have often complained of attacks on party cadres and claimed that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated. (ANI)

Time For Cong Workers To Spill Blood To Save Govt Against BJP: Khachariyawas

Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot loyalist and state cabinet Minister Pratap Khachariyawas on Monday said that the Congress workers are attempting to save their party and have to be prepared to “spill blood on the roads” against the BJP which he alleged, wants to “topple” the state government.

The remarks of the Congress leader came amid the ongoing political crisis in the state.
Speaking to ANI, Khachariyawas said, “The BJP wants to topple the Rajasthan government. I have told Ashok Gehlot that it is important to save the government, you have to perform witchcraft. The BJP will eye Rajasthan to divert attention from inflation. They did it in Maharashtra. If we don’t respond with courage, there will be fights on the streets. The Congress workers will have to spill blood on the roads. I had said it earlier to Gehlot that the BJP is prepared and there is a conspiracy underway against the government.”

He claimed that the central agencies will hit the streets of Rajasthan.

“The ED and CBI will hit the streets of Rajasthan. Congress workers will have to hit the roads, then I will also come. We will have an equal fight. If the BJP uses stick, we will respond. If they fire at us, we will respond. But if MLAs want to save government against BJP’s conspiracy then they should be heard,” he said.

The leader, however, denied any factionalism in the Congress party and said that all MLAs have the right to express their opinion.

“There is no factionalism in Congress. Every MLA has the right to put forth his view on democracy. If the MLAs united at the residence of the parliamentary affairs minister and said something, they did not commit any crime. They were the same MLAs who saved the government on the call of Sonia Gandhi. There is no opposition of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot,” the Congress leader said.

Responding to Ajay Maken’s statement on issuing notices to rebel MLAs for their “undisciplined move”, Khachariyawas said, “If any notice is issued, we will respond to it.”

Earlier today, Congress leader and observer for Rajasthan, Ajay Maken dubbed the “unofficial” meeting conducted by state minister Shanti Dhariwal with the rebel MLAs of the Ashok Gehlot camp an “indisciplined move”, while also stating that the party has never allowed “conditional resolutions” to take place, as against the demands by the group.

Maken said that Shanti Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi and Pratap Singh met them as the representatives of the MLAs and put three conditions which also included not holding a one-on-one meeting with the observers.

A legislative party meeting was scheduled on Sunday evening at the residence of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the presence of the observers, which was attended by Sachin Pilot and his camp MLAs, however, the Gehlot loyalists had held a meeting with Cabinet Minister Shanti Dhariwal at his residence, following which over 90 MLAs had submitted their resignations to Speaker CP Joshi.

Pilot, is being seen as the successor of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who is all set to contest the Congress president election scheduled on October 17. The Rajasthan deputy chief minister late last night conducted a second round of meeting with the AICC observers.

The Gehlot loyalists want someone from their own camp to be chosen as the next Chief Minister, instead of Pilot, who, according to them, had revolted against his own party back in 2020. (ANI)

Kejriwal On 8 Cong MLAs Joining BJP: It’s Congress’ Fault

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday reacted to the eight Congress MLAs joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in Goa and alleged it was the former’s fault for not being able to save its MLAs in the country.

“BJP is breaking MLAs by giving crores of rupees to them across the country in the name of Operation Lotus, this is wrong. But the fault is also of Congress,” Kejriwal said addressing a press conference in the national capital.
“They could not break our MLAs in Delhi-Punjab because we expose them, but Congress has failed to save its MLAs,” he added.

His remarks came hours after eight Goa Congress MLAs including former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Goa on Wednesday.

Delilah Lobo, Rajesh Phaldesai, Kedar Naik, Sankalp Amonkar, Aleixo Sequeira and Rudolf Fernandes also joined the party after meeting with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the Goa Assembly complex during the day.

Taking a jibe at the Centre, Kejriwal further asked where the crores of money are coming to them. He accused BJP of ‘siphoning off’ the public’s money and said it has resulted in an increase in the inflation rate.

“Where are the thousands of crores to buy the MLAs coming from? This is the money of the government, which is being siphoned off, thus increasing inflation,” said Kejriwal mentioning that the “BJP tried its Operation Lotus in every state including Punjab.”

Days ago on September 4, Gujarat Youth Congress President Vishwanathsinh Vaghela resigned from his post which is considered to be a major jolt for the party.

On September 2, party leader Rajinder Prasad, who is also the son of late Master Beli Ram Sharma from Nowshera, Rajouri, resigned from all posts and the primary membership of the party. Prasad blamed the ‘coterie’ system for being a reason for the ‘demise’ of the party.

In recent months, Rajinder Prasad and several high-profile leaders have quit Congress. The exit of veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad from the Congress, months before the upcoming Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls, as well as the general elections in two years’ time, dealt a huge blow to party.

Jaiveer Shergill, who is a lawyer by profession and was one of the prominent ones among young Congress leaders, on August 24, tendered his resignation claiming that the vision of the decision-makers no longer was in sync with the aspirations of the youth.

Earlier this year in May, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal, a prominent face of the G-23 group of dissenting leaders, resigned from the party and filed nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections as an independent candidate backed by the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Former Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar too parted ways with the Congress in May this year.

Former Union Law Minister Ashwani Kumar in February also resigned from Congress after a long association of 46 years with the party.

Back in May, Gujarat Patidar leader Hardik Patel had quit the party after he felt that he was being “ignored”. (ANI)

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal

BJP Trying To Make Sonia PM Through Backdoor: Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday attacked BJP in poll-bound Gujarat and alleged that the party is trying to make Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi as the “Prime Minister through the backdoor” and “successor” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kejriwal was responding to a question about BJP leaders stating that social activist Medha Patkar would be AAP’s chief ministerial candidate in the Gujarat assembly polls.
“I have heard that BJP will make Sonia Gandhi as the PM candidate after PM Modi. Ask them what they have to say on this. Ask them that Kejriwal has alleged that you are going to make Sonia Gandhi PM candidate and the successor to PM Modi at the national level. What do they have to say on this? The BJP is trying to make Sonia Gandhi the PM of the country through the backdoor. Ask them this question,” Kejriwal said.

The BJP has sought to make Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) founder Medha Patkar’s past ties with AAP a poll issue in Gujarat. Party leaders have said that Patkar opposed Narmada project and have talked of “renewed ties” between her and AAP.

Kejriwal alleged that the BJP “has not done anything” for the development of Gujarat and claimed it has “no programme for the next five years”.

Kejriwal also claimed that the Congress party is “finished” in Gujarat. “Congress is finished. You should stop taking their questions. People no more care about their questions,” Kejriwal said in response to a query.

The AAP leader has earlier urged the people not to “waste their votes” on Congress. After its victory in the held Punjab Assembly elections earlier this year, AAP is seeking to expand its footprint in other states.

Gujarat will face assembly polls later this year. (ANI)
