Mathura: Teen Dead, Several Injured After Getting Electrocuted At Event

A teenager died from electrocution and several others were injured in the Kosikala police station area of Mathura on Wednesday morning.

According to local sources, a religious preacher, Khatu Shyam Baba, was holding a session for his followers when an iron barricade got electrified and one teenager, seated in close proximity, received severe electric shocks and died at the scene. 

More than half-a-dozen people were injured in the incident, sources informed further.

“All the injured persons were admitted to a nearby hospital. Some of them were discharged after receiving first-aid while the rest are still undergoing treatment at the hospital. We learned that the incident took place at 1.30 am on Wednesday morning when local artistes were singing bhajans (devotional songs) on stage and the devotees were sitting rapt in the audience,” the local SP said.

“The current from the generator electrified the iron barricade and bedlam broke after the teenager was electrocuted to death. The electricity supply in the area was stopped and injured rushed to a nearby hospital,” the officer added.

The SP confirmed that the generator set was the source of the electrocution incident.

“The family members of the deceased lodged a complaint. A case was registered and an investigation is underway,” the officer said.

The SP said the oeganiser had sought necessary permissions before holding the event, adding that it was accident that occured due to negligence. (ANI)

Rakhi Files Complaint Against Husband Adil

Actor and ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Rakhi Sawant, on Tuesday, filed an FIR against her husband Adil Durrani, alleging he has taken money and jewellery from her.

While talking to media outside Mumbai’s Oshiwara police station, Rakhi claimed, “He came to beat me at home in the morning, I immediately called the police. He frequently visits my home and gives threats. Even today he came to beat me at home, and I was scared. He said that you defamed me in the media.”
Police have filed an FIR under IPC Sec 406 and 420 against Adil Durrani and have summoned him for interrogation.

Rakhi, last month, revealed that she had married Adil in 2022. Taking to Instagram, she shared a photograph of their purported marriage certificate which shows that the wedding took place on May 29, 2022.

Meanwhile, Rakhi also posted an Instagram reel video where she is seen garlanding Adil and reshared a video of her with Adil and what seems to be a Qazi officiating a ceremony.

Since Rakhi broke the news of her wedding on social media, several reports surfaced claiming that Adil has denied getting married to Rakhi.

Photos of the duo have been doing the rounds on the Internet.

Few days after that, Adil took to his Instagram account and confirmed his marriage with Rakhi. (ANI)

Partha Bengal SSC Scam

ED Files Complaint Against 8 Including Partha, Arpita

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has filed a prosecution complaint against eight accused including Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee in the Teachers Recruitment Scam in West Bengal before the PMLA Special Court, Calcutta.

According to ED officials, six entities were used for money laundering. Partha and Arpita used M/s Echhay Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Ananta Texfab Pvt Ltd, Symbiosis Merchants Pvt Ltd, Sentry Engineering Pvt Ltd, Viewmore Highrise Pvt Ltd and APA Utility Services to launder the money.
Special Court took cognizance of the Prosecution Complaint on Monday after finding that a prime-facie case has been made against the 8 accused persons.

ED had earlier arrested Partha Chatterjee, the then Minister, Government of West Bengal and his close associate Arpita Mukherjee on July 23. The accused are presently in Judicial Custody and will be produced again before the Special Court on September 28.

ED has already seized cash amounting to a total of Rs. 49.80 Crore gold and jewellery valued at more than Rs. 5.08 Crore and provisionally attached properties worth Rs. 48.22 Crore thus the total seizure in the case stands at Rs. 103.10 Crore. (ANI)
