Jammu Kashmir Starts Biometrics Attendance In Schools

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Department of School Education introduced a ‘Biometric Attendance System’ to ensure attendance by employees. Although it has not been implemented 100 per cent, there has been a significant improvement in the attendance of teachers in government schools since the introduction of this system.

This Beach Model Higher Secondary School Savjian has become the first government school in Jammu and Kashmir, where apart from teachers, the biometric attendance of students has also been started.

ocated in a remote area of Savajian in the border district of Poonch in Jammu province, this school has always been in the headlines for taking a unique initiative.
There are 276 students studying in this school from ninth to twelfth standard. Students are also showing great interest in attending biometric machines and they welcomed the move.

School Principal Anwar Khan while talking to Milap News Network said that Savjian Model Higher Secondary School is the first such institution in Jammu and Kashmir, which has started a biometric attendance system. He said, “Teachers have been bound during school hours due to biometric attendance, similarly children must be bound so that the education system and quality can be improved”.

According to Principal Anwar Khan, there are many benefits of biometric attendance, when we have to send the attendance of students up, we used to calculate the number of days of attendance and absence of each individual from the registered and send it, now one click. But the entire PDF file will come out and we will know which child came and how many times. This attendance file will also be sent to the parents in PDF format so that they also know when their children attended school.

In this school, not only the attendance but also to improve the education system, a good laboratory, and library has been established. Tri-curricular activities, quizzes, seminars, and debate competitions are also organized continuously, in the sports department, many children of the school also performed prominently in interzonal and interdistrict competitions.

Yesterday District Magistrate Poonch Yasin Chaudhary also visited this school and appreciated the facilities available there. He also asked many questions of the students, for which he praised the school management for their satisfactory answers. It should be noted that Principal Anwar Khan is not only from Poonch but also among the best teachers in Jammu and Kashmir, he has been DIET Poonch for many years. And have also been imparting training to teachers and lecturers in state-level workshops, and orientation programs. (ANI)

UP Govt Schools Self Defence Training For girls

UP Govt Schools To Impart Self-Defence Training To Girls

To ensure the safety and well-being of girls and their physical and mental self-dependency, the Yogi Adityanath government will impart self-defence training to girl students under the ‘Rani Laxmibai Self-Defence Training Programme’.

The programme as a part of the Mission Shakti launched alongside the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ on Saturday.

Under the training program, about 2 lakh girl students studying in more than 45,000 state-run schools will be specially trained for self-defence. The complete schedule of this six-day program has been provided.

The girls will also be made aware of things like eve teasing, cyberbullying, and acid attacks through various group discussions. Apart from this, the girl students will also be made physically aware of their health through sports, said the official statement.

The state government will conduct the campaign in collaboration with the central government with the aim of making the girl students enrolled in Council and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas run under the Basic Education Department mentally and physically strong. Under the scheme, girls of 11 to 14 years will be given self-defence training. Along with self-defence, girl students will be trained to be mentally balanced and empowered against any unexpected incident.

A session of one-hour duration will be conducted every working day by instructors posted in the schools. In the session, training related to self-defence along with exercise, yoga, and cleanliness has been included. Initially, a six-day training program will be organized at the district level for instructors/teachers.

Under this module, 1,200 physical teachers will be given special weekly training in a batch of 50-50. Its duration will be 6-8 hours daily (Monday-Saturday).

Under primary coverage, girl students of classes 6, 7 and 8 (11-14 years of age) will be trained in 45,000 government schools run in all 75 districts. After the training of the trainers, they will also be provided with an evaluation and certificate. Residential schools of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya for girls will be included in the training.

As per the training module, one instructor and one assistant will be appointed for 50 trainees. Women and Child Security Wing 1090 has been roped in as a consultant agency for the project.

The ‘Rani Laxmibai Self-Defence Training’ module has been prepared with the help of experts from various fields. It has been prepared with the advice of experts from Self Defence Instructors, Legal Counsel, the Women and Child Security Wing, UP Police, the Education Department, UPDesco, UNICEF.

In the module, a detailed action plan of six days has been given including necessary activities related to training of trainers, discussions, audio-video, sports, necessary laws and helpline numbers for women and girls, evaluation of participants and various case studies. After getting the training, teachers and instructors will go to the schools and train the girls through all these activities recorded in the module, added the statement. (ANI)

Telangana Provides Mid-Day Meal Scheme To Govt School

The state government of Telangana through its, Mid-day meal program supplies free lunches on working days for children in primary and upper primary classes in government schools of the state. The midday meal scheme is a school meal program in Telangana designed to better the nutritional standing of school-aged children.

The government boys Towli chowki headmaster Mohammad Siraj said, “Every day we get thin rice by 9 am in the morning and a lot of students eat rice every day here. We also get the boiled egg four times a month. Curries are also very tasty. So we urge the government of Telangana to continue this work. A very good government is helping us. Around 214 children got admission to our school. The government of Telangana has provided all the facilities. I’m very grateful to CM KCR as he runs the schools and governance well”.
A Lecturer from GPS in Towlichowki Usha Kumar said, “The State Government of Telangana is running the mid-day meal program and it’s a useful program for children who are economically weaker. It’s a wonderful boon for them, every day they are provided with Rice, dal, Sambar, and eggs. It’s a blessing for children. Veg fried rice is served on the weekends. They also get Bananas also. The students feel healthy and can concentrate on the subjects”.

A Student at GPS towlichowki Zoya Fathima said that they get Dal, Rice, and curry also. Every day we get good curries and we thank KCR.

Another student Toufique said that we get Rice, Dal, and Eggs and we thank the Telangana government for the Mid-day meals. (ANI)
