Eid-ul-Fitr: Modi Wishes For People’s Health, Well-Being

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and prayed for the health and well-being of the people.

In a tweet, PM Modi said, “Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May the spirit of harmony and compassion be furthered in our society. I also pray for everyone’s wonderful health and well-being. Eid Mubarak!”
Meanwhile, the beautiful glimpses of people offering namaz nationwide emit positivity.

Visuals from Delhi were a sight to behold. People hugged each other after offering namaz at Delhi’s Jama Masjid on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

Speaking to ANI, a man who came to offer namaz said, “I extend my wishes to the entire country on the occasion of Eid. This is a very important occasion after 30 days of fasting. We are happy right now and special arrangements are made for the morning namaz. Delicious food items will be made in our houses today.”

“Eid-Ul-Fitr sends the message of peace, brotherhood, humanity and love. I wish all evils are removed from the country and happiness spreads everywhere. I wish the nation keeps moving forward and keeps prospering,” he added.

He stressed that the country comes first and that everyone is “Hindustani first (Indian first).

Another man, G R Siddique from Ghaziabad said, “Today is a very happy day. Namaz is being offered everywhere in India with love.”

Sending a message of brotherhood across communities, he said that Hindus and Muslims should spread the message across the globe.

The month of Ramzan was filled with purity and compassion for all and now the festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr is being celebrated across the country.

Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The festival is of great significance due to the moon sighting which has been part of Islamic culture for a long time. It is believed that Prophet Muhammad used to wait for news of sightings of the crescent moon as it narrated the beginning of a new month.

Ending the holy month of Ramzan and starting a new spiritual journey also marks the beginning of a new Islamic year.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the month-long Ramzan fasting and the beginning of Shawwal which is the tenth month per the Islamic calendar. Since the observance of the moon is essential for ending Ramzan month and celebrating Eid, it is celebrated in different parts on different days usually with a one-day difference. (ANI)

CM Stalin's family case

TN CM Stalin’s family made Rs 30,000 cr in one year, looted common man: BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday alleged that Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son-in-law Sabareesan and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin made Rs. 30,000 crores in one year.

“When the Finance minister of Stalin talked to a journalist he revealed that Stalin’s son-in-law Sabareesan and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin made Rs. 30,000 crores in one year. And their main concern is how and where to hide the money,” BJP spokesperson and former Rajya Sabha MP Syed Zafar Islam said.
The BJP National Spokesperson made the statement during a press address at BJP HQ on ‘DMK Files’ on Friday.

He added, “This is unprecedented that they have made this kind of money in a year, all this has been looted from the common man. The money which was supposed to be spent on the common man has been looted by the Tamil Nadu chief minister and a few of his trusted friends.”

V Sabareesan has set up two companies in the UK and these so-called companies are nothing but the means of illegally routing the ill-gotten wealth, he said.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief K Annamalai hit out at ally AIADMK for allegedly poaching BJP leaders.”Some four BJP leaders have joined, it is an unfortunate state in Tamil Nadu where Dravidian politicians who think they run big parties want to poach from BJP and grow their party. It is only showing BJP is growing,” Annamalai told ANI.

The development comes after a few BJP leaders, including former state secretary of BJP’s IT cell Dilip Kannan, joined the ranks of AIADMK. Annamalai further said, “Likewise, some 4-5 people from AIADMK have joined the press meet. It is an ongoing issue where people will join and people will leave. Whoever thinks that wherever they will get green pasture, they will go. We cannot stop them. The party will grow with committed workers.”Attacking ruling DMK and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Annamalai said, “CM Stalin should see the previous speeches given by his leaders about India and secession. We all know DMK by its blood is a divisive party and alleging BJP clearly shows that Stalinji has accepted BJP as the principal opposition party.”Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Police booked state BjP chief Annamalai in connection with alleged attacks on migrant laborers. The state’s Cyber Crime Division booked him under sections of inciting violence and promoting enmity between groups among others.(ANI)

Modi meeting for security of Indians in sudan

Modi Chairs High-Level Meeting To Review Security Of Indians In Sudan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security situation of Indians stranded in Sudan, where fighting between its army and a paramilitary force has left over 300 people dead.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra were among those who attended the meeting with the Prime Minister conducted through video conferencing.
Ambassador of India to Sudan B S Mubarak along with the envoys to Egypt and Riyadh also participated in today’s meeting.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar were present at the meeting.

Secretary (Consular, Passport, Visa & Overseas Indian Affairs), MEA, Dr Ausaf Sayeed were also part of the high-level meeting.

At present, an unspecified number of Indians are said to be stranded in Sudan amid the military and political crisis. Thousands of civilians have fled Sudan’s capital Khartoum after fighting escalated in the region.

According to reports, over 350 people, including an Indian have been killed in the fighting so far.

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar had on April 20 met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York and discussed the developments in Sudan.

“We had a very good meeting. Most of our meeting was on the Sudan situation. We also discussed the G20, and Ukraine conflict, but essentially it was about Sudan,” Jaishankar told ANI.

Jaishankar said that the Indian government is in continuous touch with its citizens stuck in Sudan.

“Our team in Delhi is in continuous touch with the Indians in Sudan, advising them, saying we know it’s very difficult for everybody but keep calm and don’t take unnecessary risk. I hope that the efforts will yield something very soon,” the EAM said.

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said the MEA is in contact with the Indian embassy in Sudan.

“This is an issue on which we are keeping a very close watch and the evolving situation there,” Bagchi said.

“Our mission in Khartoum is in contact the Indian community there through formal and informal channels. Our embassy has issued several advisories,” he added.

Fighting has been raging between forces loyal to Sudan’s army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, who commands the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The conflict began when a coup in 2021 between Sudan’s military leader and his deputy on the ruling council erupted derailing a plan for a transition to a civilian democracy after the fall of longtime dictator Omar al-Bashir in 2019. Elections were supposed to be held by the end of 2023. (ANI)

Yogi On Gyanvapi Mosque Row

Mafia Can’t Threaten Anyone In UP Now: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said the mafia cannot threaten anyone in the state under the present BJP government.

The CM’s remark comes days after jailed gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were gunned down in full media glare and amid heavy police presence in Prayagraj district.

The incident followed the death of Atiq’s fugitive son Asad in an exchange of fire with the UP Special Task Force (STF) in Jhansi district earlier.

CM Adityanath made the statement while addressing the MoU signing programme at Textile Park in state capital Lucknow on Tuesday.

Claiming that the state was infamous for riots earlier, the CM said, “Between 2012 and 2017, more than 700 riots took place in Uttar Pradesh. However, from 2017 till 2023, not a single riot has happened in UP and neither has curfew been imposed in the state.”

“Earlier, the state suffered from an identity crisis. However today, criminals and mafias are in a crisis. Now gangsters and mafia cannot threaten businessmen over phone. Uttar Pradesh today promises a better law and order situation,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to list on April 24 the plea seeking to constitute an Independent Expert Committee under the chairmanship of a Former Supreme Court judge to inquire into the killing of Atiq and Ashraf, amid police presence.

Atiq Ahmed’s killers had a long connection with the crime and in their desire to become “popular”, they executed the killings on April 15 while the gangster-turned-politician and his brother Ashraf were in the custody of Uttar Pradesh Police in Prayagraj, sources said on Monday.

Atiq and Ashraf were killed by three assailants, who posed as mediapersons, while the gangsters were being taken for medical checkups at Prayagraj medical college.

The killers, identified as Arun Maurya, Sunny Singh and Lavlesh Tiwari, “wanted to become gangsters” and hatched a plot to kill Atiq, sources said earlier.

The police said they were in the process of ascertaining if someone else was also involved in the plan to kill Atiq and Ashraf. All three youths were arrested by the police at the scene of the shooting.

Atiq was shot at least eight times, with bullet injuries found in his head, neck and chest, according to preliminary results of an autopsy conducted on his body after his sensational murder caught on camera outside a hospital in Prayagraj on April 15.

Sources said on Monday three bullets pierced the body of Ashraf, Atiq’s brother, during the shootout that took outside the hospital where the police had taken them for a routine medical check-up. The gangster siblings collapsed on the spot after being shot from near-point-blank range.

According to sources, the initial postmortem report said Atiq was shot 8 times while Ashraf took 5 bullets. “Of the eight bullets that Atiq took, one hit his head, one his neck, one each on his chest, stomach and waist,” sources said.

Both Atiq and Ashraf were buried on April 16 at the Kasari Masari burial ground in Prayagraj.

According to the initial post-mortem report, Ashraf was shot in his neck, back and waist, with the bullets piercing his body.

The Uttar Pradesh government ordered a judicial probe in the wake of the killings. Uttar Pradesh Police also announced the formation of two special investigating teams (SITs) to probe the killings. (ANI)

Veer Savarkar suits against Rahul

Veer Savarkar’s Descendant Files Defamation Suit Against Rahul

A fresh defamation complaint has been filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks against Veer Savarkar.

Satyaki Savarkar, the grandson of one of the siblings of poet and freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, filed a criminal defamation complaint against Rahul over his remarks against the saffron ideologue.
The Congress leader was disqualified from the Lok Sabha following his conviction in a criminal defamation case over a remark using the surname ‘Modi’.

Even as the grand old party jumped to his defence and moved court challenging his conviction for criminal defamation, the Congress leader landed in a fresh soup after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma threatened to file a defamation suit against Rahul over a social media post linking him to the Adani Group.

Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, Satyaki alleged that Rahul made uncharitable remarks against the saffron ideologue during his recent visit to the United Kingdom this year.

“Rahul Gandhi went to England last month and in one of the gatherings commented that Veer Savarkar wrote in his book that he, along with his 5-6 friends, beat a Muslim and Veer Savarkar enjoyed it. The remark is an insult because that incident is a figment of his imagination. We’ve been hearing a lot from Rahul Gandhi and some of his followers about so-called petitions and pensions. Those were actually sustenance allowance and clemency petitions. We have moved court,” Satyaki said.

“After a point, we felt enough was enough and this needs to stop. Hence, we moved court. Let the court decide now,” he added.

Rahul was earlier convicted and handed a suspended sentence by a Surat court, enabling him to move an appeal against the verdict.

Responding to Rahul’s post, the Assam CM said he will file a defamation case against him after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam on April 14.

“Whatever Rahul Gandhi has tweeted, it is a defamatory tweet. So once Prime Minister goes back from Assam we will respond to the tweet and definitely, there will be a defamation case in Guwahati,” he said.

He further added, “But not now, I don’t want to talk about politics now, because we want to celebrate Bihu”.

Rahul Gandhi, in a stinging tweet, posted a tweet with pictures of former Congress leaders, who either joined the BJP or ended decades-old ties with the grand old party, along with that of businessman Gautam Adani.

The pictures included Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, former MP Ghulam nabi Azad, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, leader Anil Antony and former CM Kiran Reddy.

Earlier, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh worker filed a defamation complaint against Rahul in a Haridwar court for describing the organisation as “Kauravas of the 21st century.”

The lawyer for RSS worker Kamal Bhadauria, said his client filed a complaint in court under Sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the Congress leader for making offensive remarks against the RSS.

The Congress leader, had on January 9 this year, on the sidelines of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Haryana, alleged that “Kauravas of the 21st century wear Khakhi half-pants and run ‘shakhas’, and standing with them are three of the richest people of the country”. (ANI)

United Kingdom's Asylum Policy

Pro-Khalistani Elements Misusing Asylum Policy: India to UK

India on Wednesday raised concerns on the misuse of the United Kingdom’s asylum status by pro-Khalistani elements to aid and abet terrorist activities in India and requested better cooperation with the UK.

India also requested better cooperation with the UK and increased monitoring of UK-based Pro-Khalistan extremists and to take appropriate proactive action.
During the 5th India-UK Home Affairs Dialogue held in New Delhi earlier today, India also pointed out its concerns over the breach of security of the Indian High Commission in London.

The Indian delegation was led by Union Home Secretary, Ajay Kumar Bhalla and the UK delegation was led by Permanent Secretary, Home Office, Sir Matthew Rycroft. The meeting was also attended by other senior officials of both countries.

Both sides reviewed the ongoing cooperation and identified further steps that can be taken to explore opportunities and synergies in advancing cooperation in counter-terrorism, cyber security and global supply chains, drug trafficking, migration, extradition, and anti-India activities in the UK including Pro-Khalistan Extremism among other issues.

“The Indian side specifically conveyed its concerns on the misuse of UK’s asylum status by the Pro-Khalistani elements to aid and abet terrorist activities in India and requested better cooperation with the UK and increased monitoring of UK-based Pro-Khalistan Extremists and take appropriate proactive action. India’s concerns over the breach of security of the Indian High Commission were also emphasized,” a statement issued from the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing satisfaction with the ongoing partnership and agreeing to deepen bilateral engagement and maintain the momentum for enhanced security cooperation between the two countries.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) last month summoned the UK deputy high commissioner after pro-Khalistan protestors took down the Indian flag at the high commission in London. The pro-Khalistan groups were protesting against the Punjab police’s crackdown on Sikh hardliner Amritpal Singh. (ANI)

This is India’s 13th Vande Bharat Express which will run between Secunderabad in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati.
The new semi-high speed train connects the IT city Hyderabad with Tirupati. This is the second Vande Bharat train to start from Telangana within three months.

Earlier in January, PM Modi had flagged off India’s eighth Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam.

The inauguration of the train on the new route comes one week after the Prime Minister flagged off the latest Vande Bharat on the Bhopal-New Delhi route.

The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express has stops at Nalgonda, Guntur, Ongole, and Nellore stations while it covers its 660 km journey between the cities.

The train will cut the commuting time between the two cities by almost three and a half hours. Besides, it takes less than a minute or 52 seconds for the train to touch at a speed of 100 kmph.

The new Vande Bharat Express is equipped with CCTV cameras, power backup, GPS-based information systems and vacuum toilets.

PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station.

The train will make travel seamless for those visiting the spiritual city of Tirupati from Hyderabad.

The Secunderabad to Tirupati Vande Bharat will depart at 6 am and reach the destination (Tirupati) at 2:30 pm. The train will cover the whole distance in 8 hours and 30 minutes, which is much less as compared to the 12 hours taken by most of the existing services.

It is pertinent to note that Vande Bharat Train is an indigenously manufactured, semi-high speed and self-propelled train set. The train is equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities. It will provide a faster, more comfortable and more convenient travel experience to rail users.

Vande Bharat 2.0 is equipped with more advancements and improved features such as reaching a speed of 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 52 seconds, whereas, the time to reach 160 kmph is 129 seconds and a maximum speed of up to 180 kilometres per hour.

The improved Vande Bharat Express will weigh 392 tons when compared to the previous version of 430 tons. It will also have a Wi-Fi content on-demand facility. Every coach has 32 screens providing passenger information and infotainment compared to 24 in the previous version.

With dust-free clean air cooling of the traction motor, travel will become more comfortable. A side recliner seat facility provided only to Executive Class passengers earlier will now be made available for all classes. Executive Coaches have the added feature of 180-degree rotating seats.

In the new design of Vande Bharat Express, a photo-catalytic ultraviolet air purification system is installed in the Roof-Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) for air purification. As recommended by Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, this system is designed and installed on both ends of RMPU to filter and clean the air free from germs, bacteria, viruses etc. coming through fresh air and return air.

The Vande Bharat Express 2.0 offers various superior and aircraft-like travelling experiences. It is equipped with advanced state-of-the-art safety features including an indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System – KAVACH. (ANI)
