North Iikely To Witness Cold Wave, Temp To Dip Further | Lokmarg

North Likely To Witness Cold Wave, Temp To Dip Further

Delhi-NCR is likely to witness dense fog for the next two to three days while Punjab, Haryana, and North Rajasthan may expect a decrease in temperature by 1-2 degrees along with cold wave conditions, Dr. Kuldeep Srivastava, Head of Regional Weather Forecasting Centre said on Thursday.

“If we talk about the weather in Delhi, then a thick blanket of fog is seen in the morning hours and visibility is dropped by around 100 meters. In the Palam observatory, today morning the visibility was till 100 meters, and later around 8 in the morning there is an improvement,” Dr. Kuldeep Srivastava said.
“In the next two days, there are chances of having dense fog in Delhi-NCR and the visibility will be around 100 meters. The temperature will remain between 6-7 degrees for the next 2-3 days,” Srivastava added.

The lowest temperature for today was recorded at 4.6 degrees in Rajasthan’s Bikaner, he said.

“We have fixed criteria for the formation of fog. A layer, availability of moisture along with less wind speed are the criterion. From Punjab up to Bihar and till Gigantic West Bengal and Northern parts of Rajasthan, the wind speed in the morning hours is less which is 2-3 km per hour along with sufficient availability of moisture, and during the day time, we have a clear sky,” he told ANI.

“There is no cold wave condition as of now in the plains, but in the coming few days from December 24 or December 25, we are expecting a decrease in temperature by 1-2 degrees in Punjab, Haryana, and North Rajasthan. So in a few places, cold waves will be felt. You can see currently we are feeling severe cold days. On a severely cold day, you can see the day’s maximum temperature stays 4.5 degrees less than the normal temperature. This situation will remain for the next 2 days in Punjab, Haryana, North West UP, and North Rajasthan. Now you can say that winter has started,” he further added. (ANI)

Judiciary, EC, ED, CBI Are Working Under Fear: Gehlot

Judiciary, EC, ED, CBI Are Working Under Fear: Gehlot

Targeting the Narendra Modi government at the Centre on Tuesday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot alleged that the judiciary, EC, ED, CBI and IT are working under fear.

“Until now they were under pressure but now they are scared of what would happen if they don’t obey orders from the top. They get orders about locations of raids before elections. They’re given a list,” the Rajasthan CM said.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over growing inflation and advised him to stop entertaining “friends” and start attending to the public who have been suffering due to the price rise.

Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and said in Hindi, “Big announcement by the Rajasthan government to give LPG gas cylinders for Rs 500, which is half the price set by the Central government. Prime Minister Ji, stop feeding dry fruits to friends, and serve the people suffering from inflation (‘mitro’ ko mewa khilana band kijie, mehangai se trast janta ki sewa kijie).”

The Congress leader is currently in Rajasthan amid his ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is observing its last day in the Congress-ruled state. The foot march will enter Haryana on Wednesday.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday announced a scheme for providing cylinders to the poor in the state at the reduced rate of Rs 500 each.

“The state government is continuously taking public welfare decisions to provide maximum relief to the poor. In this direction, the state government is now developing a scheme to provide LPG cylinders to the poor at a cheaper rate,” Gehlot tweeted. (ANI)

Man Pours Hot Oil On Debt Collectors In Rajasthan

Two employees of a private finance company have been admitted to a hospital in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, with burn injuries after a man poured hot oil on the “loan sharks”.

The incident took place near a private bank branch on Rani Sati Road in Jhunjhunu.

According to police, the accused Surendra Swami had taken a personal loan from the finance company and when the employees visited him for collection of EMI, he allegedly threw hot oil on Kuldeep and Naveen Kumar and fled the spot.

The accused is a resident of Khaitan Ka Mohalla of Ward No. 44.

On the day of the attack, Kuldeep and Naveen had reached his house to collect the installment but he was not at home. They called Swami, who asked them to come near a private bank on Rani Sati Road.

“There was a heated argument between the two sides when Swami filled a jug of hot oil from the wok of a nearby shop and poured it on the victims,” said ASI Narendra Singh of Kotwali Police Station.

The accused have been absconding since then. Kuldeep was released from hospital after being administered first aid while Naveen is still undergoing treatment. The Kotwali police have registered a case against Surendra Swami and have been on looking out for him. (ANI)

Gehlot Joins Bharat Jodo Yatra

Gehlot Joins Bharat Jodo Yatra, Calls It “Journey Of Every Class”

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot joined Congress party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, along with party MP Rahul Gandhi and others on Saturday.

The padayatra resumed from Rangpuria village in Bundi district, Rajasthan.
“Cleanliness warriors and sweepers are also joining the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. #BharatJodoYatra There is a journey of every class, there is a platform to raise the issues of every class,” tweeted CM Gehlot.

People were seen joining the march in large numbers holding banners and party flags.

Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began on September 7 from Kanyakumari, will cover a further distance of 2,355 km in its 3,570-km march. It will end in Kashmir next year. It is the longest march on foot by any Indian politician in the history of India, the Congress claimed earlier in a statement.

The Congress suffered a debacle in the assembly polls held earlier this year and the Yatra is seen as an attempt to rally the party rank and file for the upcoming electoral battles.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra has so far covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, and has now entered Rajasthan.

Earlier on December 8, Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge said that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has contributed to the party’s performance in the hill state, of Himachal Pradesh.

“We have won the Himachal elections. I want to thank the people, our workers, and our leaders as due to their efforts this result has come. I want to thank Priyanka Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra also helped us with this. Sonia Gandhi’s blessings are also with us,” Kharge told reporters. (ANI)

Bharat Jodo Yatra

Bharat Jodo Yatra: Rahul Breaks Into Tribal Dance With Gehlot, Kamalnath

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi matched steps and broke into an impromptu jig with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, and senior party leader Sachin Pilot after his ongoing ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ rolled into Rajasthan on Sunday evening.

Rahul and his fellow party colleagues joined in as local artists were presenting a tribal dance performance in Jhalawar.

A video of the impromptu dance performance surfaced on social media, showing Rahul, Gehlot, and Pilot holding hands and dancing with folk artists on the stage.

Later, speaking at the Jhalawar event, Rahul took a customary dig at the BJP and RSS, saying the Congress is a party of Mahatma Gandhi and not of (VR) Savarkar or (Nathuram) Godse.

“This is Mahatma Gandhi’s party, not Savarkar’s or Godse’s. We know how to work hard,” Rahul said.

Earlier on Sunday, before the Congress’ ongoing countrywide foot march reached Rajasthan, a poster war broke out between the loyalists of Gehlot and Pilot. This was after the CM’s followers tried to replace Pilot’s posters in the Jhalawar district.

The incident came took place on Saturday, just days after the party’s national general secretary KC Venugopal held a meeting with the two leaders, who haven’t been seeing eye-to-eye in the recent past.

In a press briefing that followed after, Gehlot and Pilot were seen holding hands as the party tried to project a show of unity amid the ongoing political tussle. Venugopal had claimed that the party was united in Rajasthan.

The press briefing came on the heels of Gehlot calling Pilot a ‘traitor’ who can never become the Rajasthan CM in an interview with a television channel.

The former Rajasthan deputy CM later hit back at Gehlot, calling his accusations ‘baseless’.

On December 3, Pilot released a video asking people to join the yatra when it enters the state. (ANI)
