Shabana To Hoist Tricolour At The Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne

Veteran star Shabana Azmi will hoist the tricolour at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2023.

The act is to mark the 77th Independence Day of India.
“I am happy to be a part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and deeply honoured to have been chosen to hoist the Indian national flag on this momentous occasion. IFFM has consistently showcased the incredible diversity and creativity of Indian cinema, and it is heartwarming to be part of such a prestigious event that brings our cinema to global audiences. This platform is even more special given our film R Balki’s Ghoomer is making its world premiere at the festival. To be given an opportunity to hoist our national tricolour in presence of the amazing Indian community who live in Australia is truly an experience I am excited to be part of,” Azmi said.

Director of the festival, Mitu Bhowmick Lange, added, “We are thrilled to have the privilege of welcoming the legendary actor Shabana Azmi to hoist the Indian national flag at our Independence Day Celebrations. Shabana Azmi’s remarkable contributions to Indian cinema and her unwavering commitment to storytelling have left an indelible mark on the film fraternity. The 14th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will run from August 11 to August 29, showcasing an array of outstanding Indian films across various genres and also films from the Indian subcontinent. (ANI)

Dharmendra Shares Photo With Alia

Veteran actor Dharmendra shared a photo with Alia Bhatt from the sets of ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ on Friday.

Taking to Instagram, he dropped a picture and wrote, “Friends, Loving Aliaa is showing me glimpses of my romantic past. Rocky aur Rani ki prem kahani. “

Both can be seen smiling while looking at something on a tab. Alia wore a green suit. Dharmendra, on the other hand, can be seen in a brown sweater.

Helmed by Karan Johar, the film will hit the theatres on July 28.

Apart from Dharmendra and Alia, the film also stars actors Ranveer, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.

Recently, sharing the teaser’s link, Karan wrote, “Presenting to you the first glimpse of a piece of my heart – #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani! I’m thrilled and super excited to finally let it unfurl for you all to see…watch…and give love!!!

Earlier on Karan’s 51st birthday, the makers unveiled several film posters, increasing the fans’ excitement.

Last year, on his birthday, Karan announced that his next directorial is going to be an action film which he will commence shooting in April 2023, but no new update on the project was announced.

Meanwhile, Alia will also be seen in the upcoming Hollywood action thriller film ‘Heart of Stone’ alongside Gal Gadot. The film is set to stream on the OTT platform Netflix from August 11.

On the other hand, Dharmendra will be seen in director Anil Sharma’s ‘Apne 2’ along with her sons Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol and his grandson Karan Deol. The official release date of the film is still awaited. (ANI)
