During the meetings, the Home Minister reviewed the measures taken for restoring peace in Manipur which has witnessed violent clashes between two ethnic communities. He then directed strict action against the perpetrators of violence and assured complete support and help of the central government for ensuring lasting peace.

Shah had then assured that the government would take all measures to protect various communities in the state, urged discussion with all factions and spread the message of peace and assured that justice would be done.

Why Does Cong Hate Indian Traditions So Much?: Shah On Sengol

Training his guns at the grand old party, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the ‘Sengol’ given to former Prime Minister Pandit Nehru was banished to a museum as a ‘walking stick’.

Shah in a series of tweets questioned and asked why Congress hates Indian traditions and culture.
“Why does the Congress party hate Indian traditions and culture so much? A sacred Sengol was given to Pandit Nehru by a holy Saivite Mutt from Tamil Nadu to symbolize India’s freedom but it was banished to a museum as a ‘walking stick’,” Tweeted Shah.

He further said that Congress needs to reflect on its behaviour as the Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam, a holy Saivite Mutt, spoke about the importance of the Sengol at the time of India’s freedom.

“Now, Congress has heaped another shameful insult. The Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam, a holy Saivite Mutt, itself spoke about the importance of the Sengol at the time of India’s freedom. Congress is calling Adheenam’s history BOGUS! Congress needs to reflect on their behaviour,” read his tweet.

While, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that there is no documented evidence of Mountbatten, Rajaji and Nehru describing this sceptre as a symbol of the transfer of British power to India.

“All claims to this effect are plain and simple — BOGUS. Wholly and completely manufactured in the minds of a few and dispersed into WhatsApp, and now to the drum-beaters in the media. Two of the finest Rajaji scholars with impeccable credentials have expressed surprise,” read his tweet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a decision to adopt the Sengol as a national symbol of the Amrit Kaal. The new building of Parliament will witness the very same event, with Adheenam (Priests) repeating the ceremony and vesting the PM with the Sengol.

The same Sengol from 1947 will be installed by the Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha, prominently close to the Speaker’s podium. It will be displayed for the nation to see and will be taken out on special occasions.

Meanwhile, BJP National President JP Nadda said, “What connects most parties which are boycotting the inauguration of the new Parliament building?”

Nadda further said, “The answer is simple- they are dynasty-run political parties, whose monarchic methods are at loggerheads with the principles of republicanism and democracy in our Constitution. Those parties which are boycotting the Parliament’s inauguration lack any commitment to democracy because their sole aim is to perpetuate a select group of dynasties.”

“These dynastic parties, particularly the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, are unable to digest the simple fact that the people of India have placed their faith in a man hailing from a humble background. Elitist mindsets of dynasts are preventing them from logical thinking,” read his tweet.

“The people of India are seeing how these parties are putting politics above the nation. These parties will be punished yet again by the people for their partisan politics!,” read his tweet.

This comes after at least 21 opposition parties have decided to boycott the PM’s decision to preside over the inauguration ceremony instead of President Droupadi Murmu.

The opposition said that the inauguration of the building without President Droupadi Murmu “insults the high office of the President, and violates the letter and spirit of the Constitution”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla are slated to dedicate to the nation the new Parliament building on May 28. (ANI)

Modi Will Become PM For Third Time In Next Election: Shah

Hitting out at Congress and some other opposition parties over their decision to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament building, Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday termed the move as “cheap politics” and said people had elected Narendra Modi as Prime Minister with huge majority twice and he will become the PM for the third time by winning over 300 seats in 2024 polls.

Speaking at an event here, Amit Shah said that PM Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building in the year of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on May 28 but Congress and other opposition parties had decided to boycott the event.
“The attitude of Congress party is negative. Congress and its partners are giving an example of cheap politics and resorting to boycott,” the minister said.

Lashing out at Congress and opposition parties, Amit Shah said they are making an excuse that President should inaugurate the new Parliament building. He cited several examples from opposition-ruled states where Governor was not invited to “bhoomi pujan” functions concerning state assemblies.

He said the then Chhattisgarh Governor was not invited when the bhoomi pujan of new state assembly was done and Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had been invited.

Amit Shah also cited similar instances during the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand, the Congress government led by Tarun Gogoi in Assam and the previous Congress government in Manipur. He also mentioned Tamil Nadu.

“When you do, all is fine. And when the BJP does it, you boycott it,” he said.

“The people of the country gave a two-thirds mandate and made Modiji PM. The people give their verdict, it is not dependent on the wishes of Congress. This is democracy. The people gave mandate for PM Modi but Congress and its royal family is not prepared to accept the verdict for nine years,” Amit Shah said.

He said the opposition creates a ruckus when PM Modi speaks in Parliament and does not allow him to speak and resorts to boycott.

“Nothing will happen with your boycott. The blessings of the people are with Narendra Modiji. The entire country wants that in the building of New India, there is a new temple of democracy. There is a discussion on the building of New India in new Parliament,” he said.

“What you are doing, 130 crore people of the country are watching. In the next elections, when you go to seek mandate…you have lost the status of opposition, next time you will not win this much seats. PM Modi will become Prime Minister for the third time winning over 300 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” he added. (ANI)

PM Fulfilled Dreams Of Lord Ram Devotees: Shah

Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday hit out at Congress while highlighting the achievements of the Bharatiya Janata Party and said that the double-engine government in Karnataka has worked for the benefit of the people.

The final leg of campaigning for the May 10 Assembly elections have intensified in the State.
Addressing an election rally in Belagavi, Amit Shah said PM Modi fulfilled the dreams of Lord Ram devotees by constructing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

“BJP has worked for the farmers here. We have given several benefits to the farmers. Congress insulted Savarkar. But BJP developed the Marathas and respected them…PM Modi fulfilled the dreams of Lord Ram devotees by constructing the Ram temple in Ayodhya”.

Shah said that the Congress party insulted Lord Bajrang Bali.

Congress faced a major backlash from Hindu organisations after it announced a ban on Bajrang Dal in its manifesto for the Karnataka assembly elections.

“We believe that law and Constitution are sacrosanct and cannot be violated by individuals and Organisations like Bajrang Dal, PFI or others promoting enmity or hatred, whether among majority or minority communities,” read the Congress manifesto.

Shah said that no one has trust in Rahul Gandhi’s guarantees, adding they (Congress) were defeated in states like Tripura, Assam, and Nagaland.

“It’s BJP who banned Popular Front of India,” Shah said. Previously this April, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said each vote to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will protect the State from the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI).

Notably, the PFI and its many affiliates were declared ‘unlawful association’ by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in September last year after its involvement in violent activities came to light during investigations carried out by various state police units and national agencies.

“The BJP gave ration to the public, gave water facilities and health facilities. The double-engine government has worked for the benefit of the people,” Shah said.

Karnataka will go to Assembly polls on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13. (ANI)

As a result of this agreement, over 168 cadres of DNLA are joining the mainstream by laying down their arms. The pact will bring a complete end to the insurgency in the Dima Hasao district of Assam.
Under the agreement, Dimasa Welfare Council will be set up by the Government of Assam to protect, preserve and promote a social, cultural, and linguistic identity to meet political, economic and educational aspirations and will ensure speedy and focused development of the Dimasa people residing outside the jurisdiction of the Autonomous Council.

Along with this, the agreement also provides for the appointment of a Commission under Paragraph 14 of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India to examine the demand for the inclusion of additional villages contiguous to the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) with the Council.

The agreement also provides for necessary measures to be taken by the Government of India and the Government of Assam to rehabilitate the surrendered armed cadres of DNLA. To this effect, a Special Development package of Rs 500 crore each, will also be provided by the Government of India and Government of Assam over a period of five years, for the all-round development of NCHAC as well as Dimasa people residing in other parts of the State.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and senior officers from Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government of Assam were present on the occasion.

Soon after the pact was signed, Amit Shah said, “This agreement is another significant milestone towards making North-East insurgency-free by 2024 and fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a peaceful and prosperous North East”.

He said that this agreement will put a complete end to the insurgency and with this, there are no more armed groups in Assam today.

Shah added, “PM Modi has put forward the vision of a terror-free, violence-free and developed Northeast before the country and the Ministry of Home Affairs is moving forward in this direction”.

“Under the agreement, the representatives of DNLA have agreed to abjure violence, surrender all arms and ammunition, disband their armed organization, vacate all camps occupied by DNLA cadres and join the peaceful democratic process as established by the law,” he said.

No Khalistani Wave In Punjab: Amit Shah Praises State Govt

Even as the hunt to nab absconding Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh continues, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that there is no Khalistan wave in Punjab and the Centre is keeping a close watch on the situation.

The Home Minister pointed out that the Punjab government had done good work and that the Centre had cooperated.
“There is no wave (of Khalistan). Many times, some people try, but the governments have done their job. The Punjab government has done a good job, the Centre has supported. We are monitoring the situation closely,” Shah said while speaking at a media conclave in Bengaluru.

Asked about Amritpal Singh’s arrest and that he has been absconding for a long, the Union Minister said, “It may happen some time. Earlier he used to roam freely, but now he cannot carry on with his activities,” he said.

The Union Home Minister also said that the BJP government led by PM Narendra Modi will not tolerate any attack on the Indian High Commissions and that strict action will be taken in accordance with Indian laws.

Amit Shah was referring to the attack on the Indian High Commission in London last month and the consulate in UK and San Francisco.

“We have made the NIA so capable that they can probe if there is any conspiracy against India on foreign soil. Delhi Police registered a case and launched a probe and a report from the Indian High Commission was also received. Based on that, we have handed the probe to the NIA,” the home minister said in the media conclave held in Bengaluru.

On March 19 this year, protesters holding Khalistan banners staged a demonstration outside the High Commission in London. One of the protestors climbed up its balcony and pulled down the Indian national flag of India. The protest was being held to denounce the recent police action in Punjab.

In a video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, a protestor is seen on the balcony attempting to bring down the Indian flag. At the end of the video, another man is seen reaching the balcony and wresting the Tricolour back from the Khalistan supporter.

Khalistan supporters also allegedly attacked Indian Consulate in San Francisco (SFO). Videos of supporters breaking the doors and barging into the office surfaced on social media.

Meanwhile, speaking at the media conclave in Bengaluru today, the Home Minister further pointed out that the Popular Front of India is also an important issue in Karnataka which goes to Assembly polls on May 10, and said that people feel secure after the Centre’s clampdown against the now-banned outfit.

“PFI is an important issue as well. Congress kept PFI safe and supported it in Karnataka. The BJP government has put a ban on PFI and clamped against the propagating separatist organisation in South India. If there is one state which will benefit the most, it is Karnataka,” he said.

Asked if people would cast their votes for the BJP on the issue of the PFI ban, the Home Minister said that it is not an issue, the security of the people is.

“PFI might not be the issue, security could be. The way violence was being unleashed under PFI…Our worker Praveen was killed in daylight. The strictness with which we have worked (against PFI), there is definitely an appreciation in the people of Karnataka. They are feeling secure,” he said.

The Union Home Ministry had in September last year declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its affiliates an ‘Unlawful Association’

It had said that PFI and its associates or affiliates or fronts have been found to be involved in serious offences, including terrorism and its financing, targeted gruesome killings, disregarding the constitutional set-up of the country, disturbing public order etc. which are prejudicial to the integrity, security and sovereignty of the country.

The Home Ministry said it found it necessary to curb the nefarious activities of the organization. It declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) along with its associates or affiliates or fronts including Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imams Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala as “unlawful association” under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday reviewed cyber security infrastructure and functioning of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) here in the national capital, and appealed to spread awareness to curb the menace of cybercrime.

Announcing that the “analytical report on modus operandi of top 50 cyber-attacks has been prepared”, the Home Minister, while interacting with the media persons after the review, said the Ministry of Home Affairs is making comprehensive, integrated and all-out efforts to create awareness among masses about various aspects of cyber security and cybercrime.

Shah said that I4C is organizing Cyber Jagarukta Diwas on the first Wednesday of every month and that the I4C is reaching out to all the states in the country to play an active and pivotal role in this initiative and help promote cyber hygiene.

The Home Minister urged the media to join hands with the Union Home Ministry in spreading awareness about all the initiatives taken by it in curbing the menace of cybercrime.

Shah said more than 20 lakh cyber crime complaints have been registered on the cybercrime portal so far. “On this basis, more than 40,000 FIRs have been registered. In addition to that more than 13 crore hits registered on this portal since its launch in January 2020,” said the Minister.

He also said that 99.99 per cent of police stations (16,597) in the country have been connected with CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems) and they are now registering 100 per cent of First Information Reports directly on CCTNS.

As per statistics of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the CCTNS national database so far contains 28.98 crore police records.

They Want To Convert J-K Into Hindu-Majority State: Farooq Abdullah

They Want To Convert J-K Into Hindu-Majority State: Farooq Abdullah

Reacting to Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir, JKNC MP Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that they (the government) will give a truncated statehood after elections.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir will come up after assembly polls and that a call on the timing of elections will be taken by the Election Commission.
“I had clearly stated that statehood will be restored in Jammu and Kashmir after elections. Process of preparation of voters’ list is nearing completion in the UT. Now, the Election Commission has to take a call on elections,” Shah, in an exclusive interview with ANI, released on Tuesday, said.

To which Jammu and Kashmir’s former CM said that he thinks they (the government) don’t want to give statehood. “They will give truncated statehood after elections,” he added.

Abdullah also alleged that the motive behind the delimitation exercise, completed in UT, is to turn J-K into a Hindu majority state.

“They think that we are fools, but we are not. We know what their intention is, if this was not their intention, they would not have done delimitation as well, as the way they did. They want that it should be converted into a Hindu-majority state,” he added.

Earlier, in an interview with ANI, Shah also said that Article 370 pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir, which was abrogated by the BJP-led government in 2019, had harmed the country.

He said the way development is taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorism is gradually ending.

“See all the figures, there is a lot of change in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He went on to add that removing Article 370 has been on the agenda of BJP and Jan Sangh. He also referred India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in the context of Article 370.

“Since 1950, it was on our agenda to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Today, the way Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing development and decrease in terrorism shows that changes that are coming,” he said.

Shah said those slamming the BJP should answer in whose tenure terrorism grew in Jammu and Kashmir.

“As far as elections are concerned, do they not remember the local body polls, these were held under our rule, these did not take place for 70 years. Three families were holding sway in Jammu and Kashmir and they are making noise…Farooq Abdullah had gone to England. In whose tenure, terrorism grew, who allowed it to grow, there should be an answer,” he said. (ANI)
