Rahul Yatra Reaches Dhanbad

RSS-BJP Want To Spread Hatred In Society: Rahul

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are spreading hatred in society by making each religion, caste or language turn against another so that they can distract the people.

“BJP-RSS are spreading hatred and violence in society by making one religion fight against another, one caste against another and one language against another, so that they can distract you. They aim to snatch your wealth and keep it with them,” the Congress MP said.

Rahul Gandhi resumed the second leg of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam by re-entering the state from the Rajgarh-Hollongi (Assam-Arunachal Pradesh) border on Sunday, the eighth day of his journey.

Highlighting issues of unemployment and farmers not getting right prices for their crops, Rahul Gandhi said, “We met lakhs of people in ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. The youth raised issues of unemployment and farmers told us about not getting right prices for their crops. Now to hear your voice once again, we have started the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’.”

“The youths here spend lakhs of rupees to go to school and college, but then come to know that they cannot get employment in Assam. Farmers do not get the right price for their crops, small shopkeepers were ruined due to demonetization and GST. The entire government of the country is run for selected industrialists,” he added.

Hitting out at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Rahul Gandhi alleged, “Who is the most corrupt Chief Minister of India? The people of Assam and the entire country know that the answer is Himanta Biswa Sarma.”

“Those who are threatening us should know that this is not the journey of Rahul Gandhi, it is the journey of the people of Assam. Rahul Gandhi and the people of Assam are not afraid of the Chief Minister, they can do whatever they want,” he added.

The Yatra re-entered Assam on Sunday after spending a night in Arunachal Pradesh. The first leg of the journey in Assam was from Thursday to Saturday afternoon, after which it crossed over to Arunachal Pradesh.

The Congress leader met with an all-party delegation over a cup of tea during the Yatra in Assam’s Rajgarh.

Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by offering flowers on his statue during the Yatra. He also paid tributes to the statues of freedom fighters Swahid Kanaklata and Mukund Kakati.

The police stopped the convoy of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra for some time in Assam’s Biswanath district on Sunday. However, after a discussion between the police and party workers, the Yatra resumed.

Earlier on Saturday, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is making all efforts to prevent the party’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra program in Guwahati.

“On January 23, as per our schedule, we will be staying at Guwahati. We are trying our best to carry on with our Yatra as planned. Assam Chief Minister is trying his best not to allow our event in Guwahati. Several obstacles are being posed in front of us…We have written two letters to the Chief Minister,” Jairam Ramesh said speaking at a press conference at Assam’s Lakhimpur on Saturday along with Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhupen Kumar Borah.

On the party’s efforts to clear the way ahead of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’s scheduled plan at Guwahati on Tuesday, Ramesh said, “Our Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia has gone to Guwahati for ongoing talks with the police and the Chief Minister’s office about our program on January 23…Rahul Gandhi will interact with youths, about unemployment and the education system in Guwahati and will address a press conference.” (ANI)

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Rahul Gandhi India China

Rahul Trusts Chinese Map Not MEA, Say: Joshi

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Wednesday said that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has more faith in what China states rather than in his own country’s foreign ministry and defence ministry personnel.

While talking to ANI, Joshi slammed the Congress party and said that the latter did not have faith neither in India nor in its institutions.

“I think Rahul Gandhi can’t understand that the Ministry of External Affairs has already rejected claims on what China did, the map they issued,” the union minister said.

“What happened – if China encroached upon our land – this happened during the tenure of Jawaharlal Nehru. He is not aware of history. So, he keeps saying these things. I express my sympathies to Rahul Gandhi. He trusts the Chinese map but not what our MEA or Defence force officers deputed there,” Joshi said.

“The Nehru-Gandhi family has always trusted China more. It is their problem because they do not believe in India, they do not believe in the Supreme Court, they do not believe in Election Commission, in the Defence officials or any other institution of India. They only believe in China or Pakistan. That is their problem what can we reply to that?” Joshi said.

Earlier today Rahul Gandhi demanded a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi after China released its so-called “standard map” staking claim over Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin.

“I have been saying for years that what the PM said, that not one inch of land was lost in Ladakh, is a lie. The entire Ladakh knows that China has transgressed. This map issue is very serious. They have taken away the land. PM should say something about it,” Rahul Gandhi said in Delhi ahead of his departure to Karnataka.

On August 28 China released the 2023 edition of its ‘standard map’ showing Arunachal Pradesh, which China claims as South Tibet and Aksai Chin occupied by it in the 1962 war as part of its territory. Taiwan and the disputed South China Sea are also included within the Chinese territory in the new map.

India on Tuesday lodged a strong protest against China rejecting claims made by Beijing and said they have no basis to claim India’s territory.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that such steps from the Chinese side would only complicate the resolution of the boundary question.

In response to media queries, the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Arindam Bagchi said: “We have today lodged a strong protest through diplomatic channels with the Chinese side on the so-called 2023 “standard map” of China that lays claim to India’s territory.”

“We reject these claims as they have no basis. Such steps by the Chinese side only complicate the resolution of the boundary question,” he added.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also stated that it is an “old habit” of China to stake claim on territories that do not belong to them. In an interview with a television channel, the foreign minister dismissed Beijing’s “absurd claims” and said “putting out a map does not mean anything.”

“China has put out maps with territories (that are) not theirs. (It is an) old habit. Just by putting out maps with parts of India… this doesn’t change in anything,” Jaishankar said, adding, “Our government is very clear about what our territories are. Making absurd claims does not make other people’s territories yours.”

Congress leader Pawan Khera also slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Centre and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a “clean chit” to China.

However, this is not the first time that Beijing has employed such tactics.

In April this year, China had unilaterally “renamed” as many as 11 Indian locations, which included names of mountain peaks, rivers and residential areas.

Previously in 2017 and 2021, China’s Civil Affair Ministry had renamed other Indian locations triggering another political confrontation. New Delhi called out China’s expansionist plans then. (ANI)

If PM Wants To Douse Fire In Manipur, He Can Do In 2-3 Days: Rahul

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Manipur, saying that the PM can solve the problem of the northeastern state in two-three days but he wants “the fire should keep burning”.

While addressing a public gathering in Rajasthan’s Mangarh, Rahul Gandhi hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that the ideology of the party has “murdered” Bharat Mata (India) in Manipur.

“In Manipur, there is fire. People are being killed, children are being killed; women are being raped. I told Parliament that Bharat Mata was killed in Manipur. BJP’s ideology has murdered Bharat Mata in Manipur. If the PM wants, he can douse the fire in Manipur in 2-3 days. But PM wants the fire to keep burning. It’s been three months, and it seems like Manipur is not a part of India. The PM has not spoken a single word about Manipur. I went there. MPs of the Opposition alliance went there but the PM did not go there,” the Congress leader said.

Rahul was addressing the rally on the occasion of the International Day of World’s Indigenous People (Tribal Day).

He was there to pay homage to the unsung tribal heroes who sacrificied their lives during the freedom struggle.

Mangarh Hill holds special importance for the Bhil community and other tribes of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. During the freedom struggle, Britishers opened fire at more than 1.5 lakh Bhils and other tribes who engaged in a long stand-off with them at Mangarh Hill on 17th November 1913 under the leadership of Shri Govind Guru.

It led to the Mangarh massacre and approximately 1500 tribals were martyred.

While addressing the gathering, Rahul Gandhi said that people of the modern world should learn how to establish relation with nature from tribes.

“How to have a relation with jal, jungle and jameen, people of the modern world should learn from tribal communities. BJP has now coined a term for tribals- Vanwasi. They want to take your (tribes’) lands and give it to Adani,” the Wayanad MP said.

This was his first visit to any state after being reinstated as MP after the Supreme Court stayed his conviction in the Modi surname case.

The Rajasthan Pradesh Committee leaders including its in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa have been camping in Mangarh Dham and Banswara for the last couple of days. (ANI)

‘Mera Ghar Poora Hindustan Hai’: Rahul On Delhi Bungalow

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, whose parliamentary membership has been restored has reportedly got back possession of his official bungalow in the national capital.

“Mera ghar poora Hindustan hai,” (the whole country is my home), the Congress leader responded to reporters who asked him about the development on Tuesday.

Gandhi visited the All India Congress Committee headquarters here to take part in a meeting with leaders of the Assam unit of the party.

Rahul arrived at the AICC Headquarters for a meeting with the leaders of Assam Congress.

Rahul Gandhi was on Monday reinstated as a Member of Parliament after the Lok Sabha secretariat issued a new order that effectively withdrew a previous order that had led to his disqualification after being convicted in the ‘Modi surname’ case.

The Wayanad MP had vacated his 12 Tughlaq Lane bungalow on April 12 this year, after his disqualification as a member of the Parliament.

The move to vacate the bungalow had come a day after Surat Session’s Court pronounced an order on April 20 on his interim application for a stay on his conviction in the defamation case.

Gandhi has since then moved into former Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s 10 Janpath Road residence.  (ANI)

Rahul Arrives In Parliament After His LS M’ship Reinstated

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi arrived in Parliament on Monday after the Lok Sabha secretariat revoked his suspension from the House today.

Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) alliance leaders raised ‘Rahul Gandhi Zindabad’ slogans as they welcomed him to Parliament.

Upon reaching Parliament House, the Congress leader paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

He also updated his account bio on X (formerly known as Twitter) from ‘Dis’Qualified MP’ to ‘Member of Parliament’.

Congress leaders were also seen distributing sweets outside the Parliament.

Earlier today Lok Sabha Secretariat Gandhi’s membership after Supreme Court had on August 4 stayed his conviction in the ‘Modi’ surname remark case.

The apex court issued notices to the Gujarat government and the complainant in July on an appeal of the Congress leader challenging the Gujarat High Court order.

The Gujarat High Court, had, in its order earlier, declined to stay his conviction in the criminal defamation case in which Rahul was sentenced to two years in jail by the Surat court over the ‘Modi surname’ remark.

After his conviction in the case, Gandhi was disqualified as MP from Kerala’s Wayanad on March 24. (ANI)
