Udhayanidhi Claims BJP Twisting His Statement On Sanatan Dharma

Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Thursday issued a letter clarifying his statements on ‘Sanatan Dharma’ and questioned the BJP leaders for twisting his speech as ‘inciting genocide’ and said that they are using it as a weapon to protect themselves.

Stalin alleged that the BJP-led central government was twisting his speech delivered on September 2, and accused the centre for doing ‘nothing’ in the last nine years of their governance.

“For the last 9 years, all your (BJP) promises are empty promises. What have you exactly done for our welfare?” is a question currently being raised in unison by the entire country against an unarmed, fascist BJP government,” he said in his letter.

“It is in this background that the BJP leaders have twisted my speech at the TNPWAA conference as ‘inciting genocide’. They consider it a weapon to protect themselves. What is surprising is the Ministers of the Union government like Thiru. Amit Shah and Chief Minister of states ruled by the BJP demanding action against me based on fake news,” he added.

“I am one of the political heirs of Perarignar Anna, the founder of the DMK. Everyone knows that we are not enemies of any religion,” he said in his letter.

Udhyanidhi condemned the statements of Ayodhya Seer Paramhans Acharya for announcing a bounty of 10 crores for beheading his head and said that the saints in this era are in need of advertisement.

“In this era, saints are in need of a lot of advertisements. One such saint has announced a bounty of 10 crores for my head. I am surprised that saint has 10 crores. Many have given police and judicial complaints against me,” he said.

Further, he requested the DMK cadres to not get involved in work that is a waste of time such as burning the effigy of the saint.

“I heard DMK cadres in various places giving complaints against the saint who announced a bounty for my head and also protesting against that Saint by burning the effigy of the saint. I request cadres to avoid such activities. We have a lot of work to do for the benefit of people.  With the guidance of the DMK President and by getting advice from the DMK headship and with the help of the legal department I will face all the cases against legally,” he said.

Meanwhile a delegation of Tamil Nadu BJP leaders led by state chief K Annamalai met Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi and submitted a petition to him calling for cases to registered against Stalin junior for alleged hate speech.

Speaking to reporters BJP leader Karu Nagarajan said ” If Udhayanidhi Stalin says he is to eradicate Sanatanam it means that he is calling for eradicating Hinduism. We gave the petition to the Governor requesting to sack Udhayanidhi Stalin from the cabinet for his remarks on Sanatanam. We also requested Governor R N Ravi to sack HR & CE Minister Sekar Babu as he also participated in the same program. (ANI)

Udhayanidhi Stalin Sanatan

Cong Distances Itself From Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Sanatan ant

Seeking to steer the Congress away from the statement of DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, equating Sanatan Dharma with “mosquitoes, dengue, malaria and corona”, the party’s Maharashtra chief Nana Patole on Sunday said the partner in the DMK-led ruling coalition in Tamil Nadu doesn’t believe in hurting any religious sentiments.

Addressing a conference in Chennai on Saturday, Udhayanidhi, the minister for Sports and Youth Affairs in the Tamil Nadu government, railed against Sanatan Dharma, saying, “Few things cannot be opposed, they should only be abolished. We can’t oppose Dengue, mosquitoes, Malaria, or Corona, we have to eradicate them. In the same way, we have to eradicate Sanatana (Sanatan Dharma). Rather than merely opposing Sanatana, it should be eradicated.”

Speaking to ANI on Sunday, Patole invoked Dalit icon BR Ambedkar’s ‘Sarva Dharma Sama Bhava’ (all religions are the same) remark, saying, “Our stand is clear. The Congress neither comments nor believes in hurting anyone’s religious sentiments.”

“We can’t take the onus for someone else’s statement. But our position has been clearly articulated,” the Congress leader added.

Significantly, the Congress and the DMK are also partners in the Opposition alliance — Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

In a scathing retort to the DMK leader over his remarks, the BJP’s state chief K Annamalai took to his official handle on X to post, “The only resolve that the Gopalapuram Family has is to accumulate wealth beyond the State GDP. Thiru @Udhaystalin, you, your father, or his or your idealogue have a bought-out idea from Christian missionaries & the idea of those missionaries was to cultivate * like you to parrot their malicious ideology.”

Taking a further swipe at Udhayanidhi, he posted, “Tamil Nadu is a land of spiritualism. The best you can do is to hold a Mic in an event like this & rant out your frustration!”

“Echoing his sentiments, the BJP’s IT cell head, Amit Malviya, said the DMK minister was calling for “genocide of 80 per cent of the population of Bharat”.

“Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamilnadu CM MK Stalin, and a minister in the DMK Govt has linked Sanatana Dharma to malaria and dengue… He is of the opinion that it must be eradicated and not merely opposed. In short, he is calling for genocide of 80% population of Bharat, who follow Sanatan Dharma,” Malviya posted on X.

Also linking the minister’s remarks to the third meeting of the Opposition alliance in Mumbai, Malviya said the partners in the bloc should clarify if this was the refrain they agreed to at the huddle.”(The) DMK is a prominent member of the Opposition block and a long-standing ally of the Congress. Is this what was agreed in the Mumbai meet?” the BJP leader added. (ANI)

Coimbatore Car Blast Case: NIA Arrests 13th Accused

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the 13th accused linked with the 2022 ISIS-inspired Coimbatore car bomb blast incident, the agency said on Friday.

Since the NIA re-registered the First Information Report (FIR) on October 27 last year, Mohammed Azarudeen alias Azar is the 13th person to be arrested in the case.

Interestingly, the NIA said, Azarudeen is already in Jail at the Viyyur high-security prison in Kerala’s Thrissur in another case.

As per the anti-terror agency, Azarudeen was arrested and chargesheeted earlier in the Tamil Nadu ISIS module case (RC-02/2019/NIA/KOC) and was subsequently sent to judicial custody.

“Investigations have revealed that Azarudeen had previously taken secret ‘bayan’ classes along with the accused in the Coimbatore blast case, including Jamesha Mubeen, the vehicle’s driver who was killed in the explosion. It was at these classes that all the accused were indoctrinated with ISIS ideology and motivated to commit violent acts of terror,” said the NIA.

K’taka’s Farmers Continue To Protest Over Cauvery Water

The farmers associations in Karnataka will on Thursday stage a fresh protest near Krishna Raja Sagar(KRS) reservoir in Mandya district against the release of 5,000 cusecs (cubic feet per second) of Cauvery water to the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. The Farmers will also stage a protest in front of the Mandya district collector’s office today.

Complying with the direction of Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA), Karnataka on Wednesday started releasing water from its reservoirs to Tamil Nadu.

CWMA on Tuesday had directed Karnataka to ensure 5,000 cusecs of Cauvery water at Billigundulu on the Tamil Nadu- Karnataka boundary every day up to September 12.

CWMA’s direction came after the Cauvery Water Regulation Committe (CWRC) recommended Karnataka release 5,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Though Karnataka made a protest at CWRC’s recommendation CWMA upheld it.

After the Karnataka government started complying with CWMA’s direction farmers started protesting saying that the Cauvery basin was facing severe drought and water storage in the reservoirs was barely enough to meet the drinking water needs of the region.

Farmers in Mandya on Wednesday staged a protest late at night against the CWMA’s decision.

Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the Tamil Nadu government’s plea seeking direction to Karnataka to release 24,000 cusecs of water daily starting from August 14 to the end of the month- from the reservoirs in Karnataka on Friday.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister  DK Shivakumar is expected to leave for Delhi on Thursday to discuss the Cauvery case with Karnataka’s legal team.

“I’m going to Delhi to to meet our legal team. The hearing (on TN’s plea on Cauvery water) will be coming on Friday. All ready our department officials argued very well after Tamil Nadu demanded 24-25 TMC. we said we can give 3 thousand cusecs,” DK Shivakumar had said on Wednesday.

Earlier Tamil Nadu Water resources minister Durai Murugan said that the CWMA was not acting in a proper manner.

“In relation to this issue, we will emphasize the need of the Tamil Nadu government side in the court. There is a definition of how to distribute Cauvery water when there is a lot of water, but there is no definition of how to distribute the water when there is a shortage of water” he said (ANI)

Can’t Give Water For Fifteen Days To TN: K’ataka Mini Patil

Amid the tussle between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu over Cauvery water, Karnataka Minister MB Patil has said that it is very difficult for Karnataka to give water for fifteen days to Tamil Nadu.

“Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) has directed us to give 5,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu for fifteen days. We do not have water, it’s an order that is very difficult for us to implement so we have taken the legal route. We want a distressed formula on this long pending issue. A formula which is based on scientific and practical approach and unless and until there is a formula, it will be an embarrassment situation for all of us,” MB Patil told ANI.

This comes a day after the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) passed an interim order asking Karnataka to release 5,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu daily for the next 15 days till September 2.

“It is at the cost of our drinking water and our farmers to give water for fifteen days,” MB Patil added.

The Supreme Court on Friday refrained from passing any order on the Tamil Nadu government’s plea on the release of Cauvery water, saying it doesn’t possess any expertise on this issue and sought a report from the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) on the quantum of release made by Karnataka.

Tamil Nadu government has approached the top court seeking direction to Karnataka to release 24,000 cusecs of water daily per day from the reservoirs in Karnataka.

The Karnataka government on Thursday filed an affidavit opposing Tamil Nadu’s application saying that the application is based on an assumption that this year is the normal rainwater year.

On Monday Karnataka CM Siddaramiah instructed the Water Resources Department officials to prioritise the welfare of Karnataka farmers from the Cauvery water.

“We cannot give 83 tmc of water as it will empty out reservoirs and cause problems for drinking water,” he said.

On Wednesday several farmers gathered at Srirangapattana, Mandya to protest against the state government and CWRA which had ordered to release five thousand cusecs to Tamilnadu.

Krishnegowda. Farmers associations President told ANI “We are requesting government to please stop releasing water to Tamil Nadu. Even though management authority knows the situation they have asked us to released water. Its like they are writing the death note of farmers of Cauvery belt farmers of Karnataka. We don’t have water even for drinking. How is Karnataka releasing water to Tamil Nadu. We are requesting farmers not to take extreme step at this point of time because they’re in distress without rain. We being Farmers association are demanding that the authority visit and see the situation, can they bring rain?. Look at the situation and give verdict.”

The Cauvery water issue has been a controversial issue between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for decades and they have been locked in a battle over the sharing of water from the Cauvery River, which is a major source of irrigation and drinking water for millions of people in the region. (ANI)

Annamalai on 2024 Election

Modi Will Return To Power in 2024 With Bigger Mandate: Annamalai

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai on Sunday exuded confidence on his party’s prospects in next year’s Lok Sabha elections, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will form a government with a bigger mandate in 2024.

Speaking to ANI, he said Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a fruitful visit to Tamil Nadu, as he took a lot of time out of his busy schedule to boost the party’s organisations in the state and addressed a public meeting in Vellore to encourage the cadre.
“…for 2024, we are very clear that PM Modi is going to come to power for a third time with a bigger mandate…We are very clear that Tamil Nadu will contribute in a big way to our victory as the state has reaped the benefits of development in the last 9 years under PM Modi and no other leader has truly represented our culture like he has. I keep saying that PM Modi is a Tamilian…nobody has taken an interest in the Tamil language and culture like he has He has revived the beauty of Tamil culture…,” said Annamalai.

Earlier, on Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Tamil Nadu on a two-visit to four states and also addressed a public rally in Vellore.

Reacting to reports of Amit Shah “pitching for a Tamil PM in future”, he said, “…That was purely addressed to the workers of our party. The HM was very clear, he traced his own journey from 1982 as a booth president to our national president to a Home Minister now. He also traced the life of our PM…He said, from booth president to Prime Minister, all of you will keep climbing up the ranks. That is the beauty of this party.”

Hitting out at the previous Congress-led UPA regime at Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh later on Sunday, Union Home Minister said the “Manmohan government” did not have the courage to address the country’s internal security concerns, adding that the present dispensation, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has worked to make the country more secure.

Addressing a public meeting in Vishakhapatnam, organised to mark the completion of 9 years of the BJP-led central government under PM Modi, the Union Home Minister said, “During the UPA government, ‘Alia, Malia, Jamalia’ (any Tom, Dick and Harry) would cross over into India and unleash terror on our people. The Manmohan government did not have the courage to do anything against them. In its 9 years in power, the government under the leadership of PM Modi worked to ensure the internal security of the country.”

He said that within ten days of the Uri and Pulwama terror attacks, India, under the leadership of PM Modi, conducted a surgical strike and a precision air strike to give a befitting reply to the attackers across the border.

Shah was on a two-day visit to Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh that started on Saturday.

Shah’s event is part of the party’s month-long campaign covering all Lok Sabha constituencies to mark the completion of nine years of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (ANI)

CM Stalin's family case

TN CM Stalin’s family made Rs 30,000 cr in one year, looted common man: BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday alleged that Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son-in-law Sabareesan and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin made Rs. 30,000 crores in one year.

“When the Finance minister of Stalin talked to a journalist he revealed that Stalin’s son-in-law Sabareesan and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin made Rs. 30,000 crores in one year. And their main concern is how and where to hide the money,” BJP spokesperson and former Rajya Sabha MP Syed Zafar Islam said.
The BJP National Spokesperson made the statement during a press address at BJP HQ on ‘DMK Files’ on Friday.

He added, “This is unprecedented that they have made this kind of money in a year, all this has been looted from the common man. The money which was supposed to be spent on the common man has been looted by the Tamil Nadu chief minister and a few of his trusted friends.”

V Sabareesan has set up two companies in the UK and these so-called companies are nothing but the means of illegally routing the ill-gotten wealth, he said.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief K Annamalai hit out at ally AIADMK for allegedly poaching BJP leaders.”Some four BJP leaders have joined, it is an unfortunate state in Tamil Nadu where Dravidian politicians who think they run big parties want to poach from BJP and grow their party. It is only showing BJP is growing,” Annamalai told ANI.

The development comes after a few BJP leaders, including former state secretary of BJP’s IT cell Dilip Kannan, joined the ranks of AIADMK. Annamalai further said, “Likewise, some 4-5 people from AIADMK have joined the press meet. It is an ongoing issue where people will join and people will leave. Whoever thinks that wherever they will get green pasture, they will go. We cannot stop them. The party will grow with committed workers.”Attacking ruling DMK and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Annamalai said, “CM Stalin should see the previous speeches given by his leaders about India and secession. We all know DMK by its blood is a divisive party and alleging BJP clearly shows that Stalinji has accepted BJP as the principal opposition party.”Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Police booked state BjP chief Annamalai in connection with alleged attacks on migrant laborers. The state’s Cyber Crime Division booked him under sections of inciting violence and promoting enmity between groups among others.(ANI)
