Congress Gets Zero Marks For Governance in Rajasthan: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attacked the ruling Congress in Rajasthan and said people have made up their minds to oust it in the assembly polls later this year.

Addressing ‘Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha’ here, PM Modi referred to the  Parliament passing the Women’s Reservation Bill and said it was done because of the support of people to the BJP exercised through voting.

“The people of Rajasthan have sounded the bugle against the bad governance of Congress. Congress deserves to get zero marks for the way they ran the government here. The people of Rajasthan have decided to remove the Gehlot government and bring back BJP,” he said.

“For many years, women had been waiting for 33% reservation in Lok Sabha and state assemblies. I have not done this but the power of your vote achieved it,” he added.

The Prime Minister greeted people gathered near the venue of the ‘Parivartan Sankalp’ rally in Jaipur in Rajasthan.

The Prime Minister reached Jaipur after addressing a rally in Bhopal. Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are among five states which will go to the polls later this year.

Before addressing the gathering in Jaipur, PM Modi paid floral tributes to BJP ideologue  Deendayal Upadhyay on his birth anniversary.

In 2018 the Congress won 99 seats while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member Rajasthan assembly. The Congress led by Ashok Gehlot formed the government with the support of independents and the BSP. (ANI)

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi

Why Is Modi Scared Of Caste Census?: Rahul

Repeating what he said in the Lok Sabha during his intervention on the Women’s Reservation Bill that there are only three OBC bureaucrats working for the government of India, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi why is he scared of the caste census.

“The Government of India is being run by secretaries and cabinet secretaries. Only 3 out of 90 secretaries in the government of India are OBCs. The caste census will be an x-ray of India. With it, we will be able to find how many people belong to SC, ST, Dalit, and general categories,” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at a public meeting in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur

Asking why PM Modi is scared of the caste census, he said that I asked PM Modi to publically share the data from the Census conducted by Congress.

“Why is PM Modi scared of caste census? Why did they not release the caste census report conducted by Congress? Rahul Gandhi in Chhattisgarh,” he said.

Hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Adani issue, he said that the PM has a remote control, but he presses it ‘secretly’.

“When we press the remote (during launching events of schemes), the poor get the benefit of the schemes while when the BJP does it, Adani gets ports, airports, railways contracts, and infrastructure projects, and the public sector gets privatised. There are two remotes we press the remote in front of you but when BJP presses the public sector becomes secretly,” he added.

He further said that in previous elections, we made promises regarding strengthening the foundation of Chhattisgarh which were fulfilled by us.

“We fulfilled all our promises including farmers’ loan waiver, half of the electricity bill on which PM Modi said Congress party cannot fulfil these promises and we have witnessed that we fulfilled all those promises,” he added.

The 2023 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held later this year to elect all 90 members of the House. Congress managed to win 68 seats while BJP was able to ensure victory on 15 seats in the 2018 Assembly elections.

Earlier in the day speaking at a rally in Bhopal, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at the Congress and former President Rahul Gandhi by taking a jibe at Rahul’s interactions with selective groups.

“There is no value for the life of the poor for the Congress leaders born with silver spoons in their mouth. For them, the poor’s life is adventure tourism. For them, the houses and colonies of poor people have become the locations for video shootings. They have done this in the past too. BJP government is showing the developed and grand face of the country to the world” the Prime Minister said.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will go to the polls along with Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram later this year. In both central Indian states there is a clear fight between the Congress and the BJP. (ANI)

AIADMK BJP

AIADMK Ends Ties With BJP After Tumultuous Relations

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) passed a unanimous resolution breaking all ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from Monday.

“The state leadership of the BJP has been continuously making unnecessary remarks about our former leaders, our general secretary EPS (K Palaniswami) and our cadres for the past year. In today’s meeting, this resolution was passed unanimously that AIADMK will break all ties with BJP and NDA alliance,” AIADMK leader KP Munuswamy said.

Munuswamy alleged that the state BJP has been intentionally attacking former Chief Minister Jayalalitha and Annadurai.

“The state leadership of BJP in the NDA alliance has been purposely attacking the AIADMK Party, former CM and leaders Annadurai and Jayalalitha. BJP State leadership also criticised AIADMK conference which was held at Madurai on August 20. This hurts cadres of AIADMK,” Munuswamy said.

AIADMK Party Secretaries, District Secretaries, Parliament Members and Assembly Members held a meeting at the party headquarters in Chennai on Monday.

The relationship between the AIADMK and the BJP had hit a low since the last few months.

On September 18, AIADMK announced that the BJP is no longer their ally alleging that BJP State President Annamalai was crossing the “alliance dharma” lines. AIADMK leaders also heavily criticised Annamalai for his remarks on Annadurai and Periyar.

Both the AIADMK and the BJP frequently engaged in war of words with one another on social media. Leaders from both parties refused to comment on the alliance in public.

On September 22, AIADMK top leaders C V Shanmugam, Thambidurai, SP Velumani, Thangamani, KP Munusamy, Natham Viswanathan met BJP leaders at Delhi.

Both parties refused to comment on the developments of the meeting. However, sources suggested that the AIADMK meeting in Delhi was not fruitful. (ANI)

Cong Busy Glorifying One Family: Modi In MP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made a scathing attack on Congress in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, saying the party “has been busy glorifying only one family,” nourishing “corrupt system” and if gets a chance to come into power, it will be a huge loss for the state.

Addressing Karyakarta Mahakumbh in Bhopal, the Prime Minister slammed Congress on a range of issues and said the opposition party “neither has the ability to see nor understand the national interest”.

He said Congress does not want to change and does not want the country to change.

“Congress cannot digest the development work in India…They don’t want the country to develop. They are never proud of the country’s achievements because neither they want to change and neither want the country to change or develop. Congress will make Madhya Pradesh a ‘Bimaru Rajya’ if it gets a chance (to come into power here). They opposed digital payment but the world is impressed by UPI mode,” he said.

“Congress has been busy glorifying only one family. Congress has been busy nourishing the corrupt system in India. Congress is like rusty iron, which gets corroded if kept in the rain. Now Congress neither has the ability to see nor understand the national interest,” he added.

The Prime Minister said that coming years are crucial for Madhya Pradesh.

“If during this crucial time, Congress, a dynasty party, a party full of corruption, gets a chance (to come into power), this will be a huge loss for the state,” he said.

The Prime Minister said BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has completed almost 20 years and youth are lucky they have “not witnessed the bad governance of the Congress government”.

“This means the youth, who will be voting for the first time in the upcoming elections, have only seen the BJP government. The present youth of Madhya Pradesh are lucky that they have not witnessed the bad governance of the Congress government… Congress turned the state into ‘Bimaru Rajya’… BJP has tried to take the state to a new level with new energy… Youth here have seen the development work and good governance of the BJP government,” the Prime Minister said.

He said that the ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ shows the energy of BJP workers.

‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ says a lot of things. This shows what is there in the minds of people here. This shows the energy of the workers of the BJP… Madhya Pradesh is the heart of the country. People of the state have always supported BJP,” he said.

PM Modi said Congress had given slogan of ‘Garibi Hatao’ fifty years ago but failed to deliver.

“The life of the poor does not matter to their (Congress) leaders, born with silver spoons in their mouth… For them, the life of the poor is adventure tourism… For Congress leaders, poor persons’ colonies have become location for video shootings. They have done this in the past too. BJP government is showing the developed and grand face of the country to the world,” he said.

He alleged that Congress and other opposition parties tried to prevent Droupadi Murmu from becoming the President.

“These (Congress) are the same people who tried their best to stop the country’s first tribal woman President Droupadi Murmu from becoming the President. These are the same people who have repeatedly tried to humiliate her. These people are the same people who had stopped the entry of daughters in the front lines of the country’s armed forces,” he said.

Madhya Pradesh is among five states which will face assembly polls later this year. (ANI)

Danish Ali Suspended From BSP

BJP Building A Narrative To Get Me Lynched: BSP MP Danish Ali

After BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla claiming that BSP MP Danish Ali was using derogatory remarks for Prime Minister Narendra Modi that triggered the MP Ramesh Bidhuri to use unparliamentary words against Ali, the Bahujan Samaj Party MP has said that the letter by the BJP leader is an effort to create a narrative for his ‘lynching’.

Danish Ali while speaking to the media here also asked Nishikant Dubey to produce the video proof for what he is alleging the BSP MP.

“I request the (Lok Sabha) speaker that this should be inquired because this is one more matter of breach of privilege. I demand action be taken against Nishikant Dubey for what he has written… If what Nishikant Dubey is saying is true, there must be a video of the same…,” Danish Ali said.

Danish further claimed that he was only raising his voice so the derogatory remarks against the PM by Bidhuri could be stopped.

“He (Bidhuri) was saying the wrong words for the PM and for reference, was comparing the PM with an animal which I even cannot name in front of the media. I only objected to this. Is it true that all the BJP MPs were sitting and laughing there? They did my verbal lynching in the House… Now they are trying to lynch me outside…” he added.

However, facing a backlash over his tirade against BSP MP Danish Ali on the floor of the Lok Sabha during a discussion on the country’s successful lunar landing mission — Chandrayaan-3, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri on Sunday sidestepped a direct query on his remarks.

When asked about several Opposition members including the BSP MP writing to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla calling for his dismissal from the Lower House as well as the BJP, Bidhuri on Sunday said, “No comments.”

Meanwhile, amid all-round condemnation of Bidhuri, including criticism from within the BJP, a number of BJP MPs have written to Speaker Birla to say that Danish was using derogatory words for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the time that triggered Bidhuri.

According to the letters by the BJP leaders, the remarks by Danish Ali were not captured in the microphone and were therefore not audible to everyone in the House. Dubey is among the MPs who have written such a letter.

In his letter to Speaker Birla, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Saturday, raised several instances of “unsavoury remarks” made by Opposition leaders and sought to constitute an “inquiry committee to investigate the utterances” during the discussion on Chandrayaan-3’s success.

Dubey also claimed “When Danish Ali was busy instigating Bidhuri with his intemperate comments, he made a highly objectionable and derogatory remark against PM Narendra Modi. In his desperation to denigrate the ruling dispensation and the PM’s achievement on landing Chandrayaan 3 on the moon, he screamed across the isle without the microphone but could be clearly heard saying that “Neech ko neech nehi kahenge toh kya kahenge.”

“This statement made by Ali, was more than enough for any patriotic public representative to “lose his calm” and it led to Bidhuri responding to him like he did,” said the BJP MP who also claimed that Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Ray questioned the existence of Ram and Pushpak Viman and DMK claimed there is no God. Bidhuri Ducks Queries On Communal Slur In Lok Sabha

Facing a backlash over his tirade against BSP MP Danish Ali on the floor of the Lok Sabha during a discussion on the country’s successful lunar landing mission — Chandrayaan-3, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri on Sunday sidestepped a direct query on his remarks.

To a question on his remarks, which saw the BSP MP writing to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several Opposition members calling for his dismissal from the Lower House as well as the BJP, Budhuri on Sunday said, “No comments.”

He added that Speaker Birla was “looking into the matter”.

Meanwhile, weighing in on the controversy around Bidhuri’s remarks, fellow BJP leader and MP Ravi Kishan said no member should be allowed to get away with such comments in a “temple of democracy”.

“No elected member of the Parliament, which is a temple of democracy, should be allowed to make such comments. His remarks were unpardonable. I have many Muslim friends, some of whom are associated with show business. We have appeared in films together over the years. What Ramesh Bidhuri said about Danish Ali in Parliament was not at all in good taste. I don’t condone his statement,” Kishan, a Lok Sabha member from Gorakhpur, told ANI.

He, however, added that the Speaker acts on his fellow party MP over his remarks directed at the BSP leader, similar action should follow against the latter as well.

“If the Speaker acts against Ramesh Vidhuri, then similar action should follow against Danish Ali as well. Twice when I stood up in the House twice to speak, he made indecent comments about me. I have no qualms in saying that whatever Bidhuri-ji said has lowered the dignity of the Parliament. But Danish Ali shouldn’t just be seen as a victim here but also as an accused. He used filthy language about PM Modi when he rose to address the House. We have been members of Parliament for 4 to 5 years. Whenever someone from the BJP stands up to speak in Parliament, they (Opposition members) provoke and heckle us a lot.”

“I have personally been at the receiving end of Danish Ali’s offensive remarks. My only contention is that if action has to be taken against Vidhuri-ji, similar action should follow against Danish Ali as well. Footage of his (offensive) remarks in Parliament should be taken out and a committee should be put together to go over it,” Kishan added.

Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met Danish Ali after he wrote to the Speaker about Bidhuri’s rant against him.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Rahul said, “
Nafrat ke Bazaar mein Mohabbat ki Dukan
(We are running a shop of love in the market of hate).”

The BJP, meanwhile, issued a show cause notice to Bidhuri on the instruction of party president JP Nadda for his use of unparliamentary language against BSP’s Danish Ali. (ANI)

PM To Flag Off 2 Vande Trains From Bengal As ‘Durga Pujo Gift’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate a total of nine Vande Bharat express trains through video conferencing on September 24, of which two will be specifically for West Bengal– one, connecting Patna to Howrah and the other, connecting Ranchi to Howrah. Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Eastern Railway, Kaushik Mitra has described this move as a “Durga Pujo gift” to Bengal.

“There are already three Vande Bharat trains in West Bengal- Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Junction, Puri-Howrah and New Jalpaiguri Junction-Guwahati. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has allotted another two Vande Bharats for West Bengal- Patna-Howrah and Ranch Howrah. People of West Bengal will be thrilled and take this as a Durgapuja gift from Narendra Modi,” the Eastern Railway CPRO said speaking to ANI on Friday.

The Vande Bharat Express trains will cover Bengal from the Chittaranjan area to Howrah, the CPRO said adding that both the trains will be inaugurated on the 24th and will reach Howrah station at around 10 pm.

On the new-age facilities that will be provided on board the Vande Bharat trains, Mitra said, “The inclination of the chairs has been increased from 17 degrees to 19 degrees. The cushion seating has been improved. We have also changed the colours of the seats from blue to reddish. We have improved the basins and lighting facilities in the washrooms. We have also introduced wheelchair facilities for the specially-abled passengers from the compartment.”

Speaking on passenger feedback about the Vande Bharat trains, the Eastern Railway CPRO said, “Based on the experiences and feedback we have received from passengers, Vande Bharats are more user-friendly, more sophisticated and more comfortable.”

Mitra further said that the Vande Bharat trains will now be the fastest train travelling on this route and will even be faster than the present Rajdhani Express. While the Rajdhani Express takes 7 hours 45 minutes to reach Howrah from Patna, the Vande Bharat express will take only 6 and a half hours.

“Earlier from Patna to Howrah, the fastest train travelling on this route was Rajdhani Express which used to take 7 hours 45 minutes. With this Vande Bharat Express, it will take only 6 and a half hours,” the CPRO said.

The CPRO said that Asansol being an economic hub in West Bengal, the Vande Bharats will help passengers travelling from these regions to Howrah and to Patna in a short span.

“Asansol is an economic hub. Many steel plants are there, many cement factories are growing up there. People from Patna or Asansol can come to Kolkata or reach Patna in a short span,” he said.

Mitra said that several railway stations have been developed as Amrit Bharat stations with modern facilities. “Many stations have been identified as Amrit Bharat stations. A huge amount has been spent on stations like Asansol, Andal and Bardhaman,” he said. (ANI)
