Adani Group on hidenbrug report

Centre to SC: Ukraine Returnees To Be Offered Single Chance To Clear MBBS

The central government on Tuesday informed the Supreme Court that students who returned to India from Ukraine will be offered a single chance to clear the MBBS Final, both Part I and Part II Examinations without enrolling in any existing medical colleges.

“The students may be offered a single chance to clear the MBBS Final, both Part I and Part II Examinations (Both Theory and Practical) as per existing NMC Syllabus and guidelines without being enrolled in any of the existing Indian Medical Colleges. They can give and clear the examination within a period of one year. Part I, followed by Part II, after one year. Part II will be allowed only after Part I is cleared,” the centre informed the court.
ASG Aishwarya Bhati, appearing for the centre, apprised these facts to the bench of Justices B R Gavai and Vikram Nath.

The centre informed SC that students can give and clear the examination within a period of one year. Part I, followed by Part II after one year. Part II will be allowed only after Part I is cleared

The government also informed the apex court that theory examination could be conducted centrally and physically, on the pattern of the Indian MBBS examination and practical could be conducted by some designated government medical colleges, assigned the responsibility.

Centre apprised the SC that after clearing these two examinations, they would have to complete two years of compulsory rotatory internship, the first year of which will be free and the second year paid as has been decided by NMC for previous cases.

It also informed SC that the committee has emphasised that this option be strictly a one-time option and not become a basis for similar decisions in future and shall be applicable for present matters only.

The Central Government also apprised the top court about the committee, which deliberated on the issues as directed by the Supreme Court on three occasions January 11, February 2 and March 2.

At the meeting held on February 2 and March 2, the representative from the various states and Union Territories along with the NMC also joined the meeting via virtual conference and expressed their views on the issues raised.

The States voiced their reservation about the quality of education and training the FMGs might have and hence had reservations about accommodating them in colleges mid-way during the course. The committee, in compliance with the order of the top Court, has recommended with regard to addressing the issue of students pursuing medical education abroad in Ukraine/China and have returned in their penultimate year and studied online classes after return, the centre said.

After hearing the submission made by the Centre, the Supreme court disposed of a batch of petitions filed by medical students who returned back to India from Ukraine.

The Court had earlier asked the Union Government to constitute a committee of experts to find out solutions for the students’ situations. The court remarked that these students can be a national asset when the country is facing a dearth of doctors.

The court was also considering a batch of petitions filed by the students, who completed the courses online and secured completion certificates from foreign universities but could not complete clinical training.

The court had observed that these students could not undergo their clinical training in their foreign universities due to unforeseen events and they cannot go back to their universities because they have subsequently completed their courses.

Earlier the top court had suggested the central government to develop a transparent system and a portal to issue the grievances of the evacuated medical students from Ukraine and seek permission to continue medical studies in India.

The Centre had submitted before the Supreme Court that in consultation with the National Medical Commission (NMC), it has taken proactive measures to assist returnee students from Ukraine but added that transferring these students to colleges in India would seriously hamper the standards of medical education in the country.

In the affidavit, the Centre had said the Government of India in consultation with the NMC, the apex medical education regulatory body in the Country, has taken proactive measures to assist returnee students from Ukraine while balancing the need to maintain the required standard of medical education in the country.

The affidavit was filed by the Centre on a batch of pleas filed by Indian students who have been evacuated from Ukraine and seeking permission to continue medical studies in India. (ANI)

Amritpal in delhi

Denim Jacket, Mask; Amritpal Spotted In Delhi

Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh, who is on the run for more than a week after escaping from Punjab, has been spotted roaming on the streets of Delhi, as shown in a CCTV footage.

According to sources, the CCTV footage is from March 21, three days after the Punjab police launched a massive manhunt to arrest the Khalistani preacher.
In the CCTV footage confirmed by police, the separatist leader could be seen wearing a denim jacket, and jeans with sunglasses on, and covering his face with a mask to hide his identity.

His associate, Papalpreet Singh, could also be seen walking with him carrying a backpack, said sources.

On Tuesday, the Department of Immigration, Nepal government alerted its offices, particularly those at airports to prevent Singh who could flee to a third country using Nepali territory either on his own passport or a fake passport, the Himalayan Times reported.

DG Jhalak Ram Adhikari told The Himalayan Times that Indian Embassy had written to his office seeking his office’s help in stopping Khalistan separatist Amritpal Singh from fleeing to a third country.

The Punjab government has launched a massive manhunt against the separatist leader Amritpal, who has been hiding since March 18. Indian Embassy has provided the photograph of the Punjabi fugitive and all details about him. The embassy also has flagged Nepali authorities that Amritpal Singh could flee to a third country using his own passport or a fake passport.

Adhikari said that all passengers who wanted to go abroad using Nepal’s airport would be screened at the airport so that Amritpal who is under the surveillance of the Department of Immigration can not flee.

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Sunday sent a letter to the Department of Immigration requesting them to not let pro-Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh travel to a third country.

“As per the request from Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, we have included him on the ‘watch list’, Director of Nepal’s Department of Immigration Jhalakram Adhikari told ANI over the phone.

At first, the embassy had requested the Nepal government to enlist him on a watch list and shared the details along with photos with the department, the official added.

“They have warned us that he might use a fake passport to enter Nepal and attempt to fly out. He might be hiding somewhere here in Nepal as well. No one is sure about Amritpal whereabouts. But as per the request we have informed all the concerned departments and authorities,” Adhikari added.

Asked about the letters, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu did not respond. On March 25, Punjab Police appealed to people not to believe rumours and fake news of the arrest of radical preacher and pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh, which is being circulated on social media.

Speaking at a press briefing on Saturday, Bathinda SSP Gulneet Khurana said, “We urge people not to believe the fake reports of the arrest of Amritpal Singh that are being widely circulated on social media.”

On March 18, Punjab Police launched an operation against Amritpal Singh and his aides. The crackdown came almost over three weeks after Amritpal’s supporters clashed with uniformed personnel at the Ajnala police station on February 23, on the outskirts of Amritsar, demanding the release of one of his close aides, Lovepreet Toofan. Priyanka Chopra Sona New York

Was Pushed Into A Corner, Had Beef With People: Priyanka On B’wood Exit

Actor and Global Icon Priyanka Chopra is currently busy promoting her upcoming Hollywood series ‘Citadel’.

Recently, the actor opened up about the reason why she left Bollywood and started looking for a career in the US.
During a conversation with Dax Shepherd on his podcast ‘Armchair Expert’, Priyanka Chopra revealed why she started looking for work in the US and said, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry. I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, and I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break. This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave the movies I didn’t want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require grovelling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it.”

The ‘Fashion’ actor marked her singing debut with the song ‘In My City’ in the year 2012 which also featured American rapper Will.i.am.

The song was a hit and Priyanka garnered a lot of appreciation for her singing.

Post that, she released another big hit song ‘Exotic’ alongside American rapper Pitbull in the year 2013 and a cover version of the song ‘I Can’t make you love me’ in 2014.

“So when this music thing came I was like ‘fu** it I am going to America’,” she further said in the podcast.

The action-packed show revolves around two elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka) of the global spy agency Citadel.

Sharing details about the show, Priyanka said, “The story is closely interwoven with the stunts. What’s so exciting about these huge action pieces was that they are infused with drama and storytelling. We get to see a lot about these characters, how they physically interact, not just great action sequences but there’s drama at the heart of each one of them, so there’s a story sort of interwoven in all the stunts. And that was just very cool and new for me.”

She also has Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ in her kitty. The film also stars Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. (ANI)

Will Abide By: Rahul On Notice To Vacate Bungalow

Amid the Congress outrage over the notice given to Rahul Gandhi to vacate the government bungalow after his disqualification as a Lok Sabha member of parliament, the former MP on Tuesday said that he will abide by the direction.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat on March 27 gave notice to Rahul Gandhi to vacate the government bungalow following his disqualification as MP from Lok Sabha after he was convicted in a 2019 defamation case by Surat court for a ‘Modi surname’ remark. The allotment of the government bungalow will be canceled with effect from April 24.
In a letter to Deputy Secretary, MS Branch, Lok Sabha Secretariat dated March 28, Rahul Gandhi said that he owes the happy memories of his time spent at the bungalow to the mandate of the people.

“As an elected Member of Lok Sabha over last four terms, it is the mandate of the people to which I owe the happy memories of my time spent here. Without prejudice to my rights, I will, of course, abide by the details contained in your letter,” Rahul Gandhi wrote.

Congress workers have held protests in different parts of the country following the disqualification of the fomer Wayanad MP.

Meanwhile, earlier today, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said that Rahul Gandhi can come him or Sonia Gandhi.

“They will make all attempts to weaken him (Rahul Gandhi) but if he vacates the bungalow, he’ll go live with his mother or he can come to me and I’ll vacate one,” Kharge told ANI.

“I condemn the attitude of the government to scare, threaten and humiliate him. This isn’t the way. Sometimes, we’ve been without a bungalow for three to four months. I received my bungalow after six months. People do this to humiliate others. I condemn such an attitude,” he added. (ANI)
