Aditya Starrer ‘Gumraah’ Starts Slow At Box Office

Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer ‘Gumraah’ (remake of Telugu hit ‘Thadam’) did not open at the theatres on a promising note.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to post the box office numbers. He wrote, “#Gumraah puts up a lacklustre total on Day 1, despite holiday [#GoodFriday]… Fri Rs 1.10 cr. #India biz. Needs a miraculous turnaround on Day 2 and 3 to salvage the show.”

Gumraah’, helmed by debutant Vardan Ketkar, is an official remake of the Telugu film ‘Thadam’ (2019).

The film showcased Aditya in a double role along with Mrunal Thakur as a cop. The film is a murder mystery that has left the police and the characters in the movie perplexed on multiple occasions.

Opening up about his character, Aditya shared, “It was quite challenging to essay the double role. I also wanted to push myself and challenge myself…so it was interesting to be a part of Gumraah. It’s a different film. I hope the audience will like it. ” (ANI)

One Cr In UP Will Be Provided Employment In Next Three Years: Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday laid the foundation stone of a mini stadium at Bholaram Maskara Inter College in Sahjanwa.

“Laying the foundation stone of a mini rural stadium equipped with a multi-sports complex, an athletics track, the audience gallery and the ground to be built at the cost of Rs 10.43 crore at Bholaram Maskara Inter College at Sahjanwa, Gorakhpur, CM Yogi said that the investments to be made in Sahjanwa assembly constituency of Gorakhpur and other places will also enable the youths to get jobs near their homes,” the official statement said.
While addressing the public, CM Yogi said that the stadium will help nurture sporting talents in the rural areas of Sahjanwa and Gorakhpur.

“Prime Minister Modi gave the slogan of ‘Khelo India Khelo’ in 2014. Today, the slogan has become a reality. India is winning medals in Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games. Uttar Pradesh is also winning medals in these mega sporting events, with commendable work done by the UP Youth Welfare Department and Basic Education Department,” he said.

He also said that a total of one crore youth will get employment in the next three years.

“CM Yogi also said that one crore youths of the state will be provided employment in the next three years through the investment proposals received at the recently held Global Investors Summit in the State,” it said.

“CM Yogi further stated that Sahjanwa will have two stadiums, one at Bholaram Maskara Inter College and the other at Atal Residential School. CM Yogi also said that Sahjanwa has witnessed rapid development in recent times with the construction of a railway overbridge and connectivity with a four-lane road,” it mentioned.

On the occasion UP CM Yogi Adityanath also announced that government will distribute two crore tablets to college students.

“The government will also distribute two crore tablets and smartphones to students across the state in degree colleges to encourage them. Besides, several new technical and other institutes are being built to prepare the state’s youth for the job market. A polytechnic institute will be built here also. Besides, Atal Residential School being built here will be inaugurated soon,” it mentioned.

CM Yogi further stated that Government is aggressively pursuing its development agenda and the drive to deal sternly with anti-social elements threatening the state’s security.

“Businessmen and industrialists must have the freedom and security to run their businesses and plants because on the one hand, they promote the growth of the state and on the other they provide employment to its youth,” he said.

Shinde-Led Shiv Sainiks To Visit Ayodhya Temple Tomorrow

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with Shiv Sena MPs and MLAs, on Saturday flew down to Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, from where they will visit the State’s temple town on Sunday.

The Shiv Sainiks were welcomed by Yogi government ministers at the Lucknow Airport amid fanfare.
“This is not a political visit, I keep visiting Ayodhya but this is the first time I’ve come here as a CM. All party leaders wanted to take blessings from Lord Ram. I want to thank Yogi ji and his ministers who were present here to welcome us,” Shinde told ANI.

The Chief Minister will now take a rest at the Government Guest House in Lucknow, from where he will visit Ayodhya tomorrow and perform ‘aarti’ on the banks of the Saryu river, according to an itinerary circulated among media persons.

“Sadhus have organised programs in Ayodhya and we will participate in them. In the past, Sadhus were killed in Palghar, but now we will protect our Sadhus. A program is organised in Palghar too, I will attend that as well. In BJP and Shivsena govt, law and order will be maintained,” Shinde had earlier in the day told reporters in Mumbai.

The itinerary further stated that CM Shinde on Sunday will depart to Shri Ram Katha Helipad Park, Ayodhya and then will go to the hotel by car.

“CM will depart from the hotel to Ram Mandir by car. He will also visit the ongoing construction site of Ram Mandir,” it added.

The Shiv Sena leaders, onboard the flight, chanted Jai Shree Ram, Jai Shivaji, and Shiv Sena Zindabad slogans before setting off from Mumbai.

This is Shinde’s first visit to Ayodhya after being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in June last year.

While addressing the press conference in Mumbai earlier, Shinde said, “We will be going to Ayodhya for Lord Ram’s blessings on April 9 and it’s a matter of belief and sentiments, we will perform Aarti… I still remember that Dharmveer Anand Dhigana had sent silver brick with Karsevark so we have old bonding with Ram Lalla… we will be visiting the temple also.”

“We (Shiv Sena BJP) wanted to go to Ayodhya after getting the Bow and Arrow symbol. We will also meet UP CM Yogi Aditynath. We will perform Aarti at the Sarayu River,” he had added. (ANI)

Ramban Police said that while going from Jammu to Srinagar by road, the Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju’s car met with a minor accident.
“No injuries happened to anyone and Honourable Minister was driven safely to destination,” police added.

‘Balika Vadhu’ fame Neha Marda is the new mom in town.

She and her husband Ayushman Agarwal welcomed a baby girl on April 7. The good news was shared by her publicist on social media.
“Blessed with a baby girl. Congratulations @nehamarda and #ayushmanagarwal,” a post read on her publicist’s Instagram account.

The publicist also shared an adorable picture of Neha holding the little one in her arms.

Hours before welcoming the daughter, Neha shared a picture from the hospital bed and opened up about her pregnancy complications. She had been admitted to the hospital after she ran into some complications with her pregnancy in the final trimester.

“Waiting for a speedy recovery at this last phase of her pregnancy journey ..She has all faith on that one power. Shri Shivay Namstyuvhyam,” Neha wrote.

Neha announced her pregnancy in November 2022 with a post that she captioned, “This is such a beautiful “US” which I can’t express . We were never desperate for “U “but today I feel we needed “YOU”. YOU are necessity and priority. YOU are love, life and universe. Thanku for completing us (red heart and folded hands emojis).”

On Saturday, Kriti took to Instagram and shared the update with her fans and followers. The duo has finished shooting the film.

Kartik also reposted the statement on his official Instagram account which said that the title will be changed to avoid hurting sentiments, even if that’s purely unintentional.

Producers of the film and the creative team also are in complete support of this decision. We will be announcing a new title for our love story in the due course of our journey. Elections In Pak Less Likely After Anti-Terror Ops Announced

Amid a debate in political circles over the conduct of elections in Punjab in mid-May, the top civil and military leadership on Friday vowed to re-launch the National Action Plan (NAP) within 15 days to crush militants, Dawn reported.

Without directly blaming the previous PTI government for the resurgence of terrorism in tribal districts along the border with Afghanistan, top civil and military leadership agreed to initiate new multi-pronged and comprehensive operations and combined efforts on the diplomatic, security, economic and social fronts for the elimination of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
A committee formed for the purpose would present its recommendations within two weeks to implement the policy and draw its parameters, Dawn reported.

The decisions were made at the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber, Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, chief ministers of four provinces and federal cabinet members attended the meeting.

The NSC’s decision to launch a massive operation may further shrink the chances of elections in Punjab, two days after the government had categorically refused to implement the court order regarding May 14 polls, Dawn reported.

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, while talking to Dawn, said that holding elections in Punjab was not on the agenda of the NSC meeting and that’s why the issue was not discussed in the civil and military leadership’s huddle. She, however, confirmed that a fresh NAP-like operation against militancy would start within 15 days.

Earlier, two similar plans had been launched in the country, one in 2002 and the second in 2014, Dawn reported.

An official press release issued by the PM Office said, “NSC approved a multi-pronged comprehensive operation with the support of the government and the nation to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country with a new resolve, determination and valor”.

“The committee proclaimed that the recent wave of terrorism was the result of the soft corner and the absence of a well-thought-out policy against the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which was declared a terrorist organization but against the public expectations and wishes, under the previous policy terrorists were allowed to return without any hindrance. In the name of confidence building, dangerous terrorists of the TTP were released from jails,” Dawn reported.

“It was noted that due to the return of the dangerous terrorists and support of different terrorist organisations to them from Afghanistan, peace and stability, which was the result of innumerable sacrifices and continuous efforts, was affected,” the official announcement said. (ANI)

Business Confidence Drops In Pakistan

As many as 72 per cent of businesses in Pakistan are troubled by default risks while 90 per cent are not supportive of the country’s economic direction, according to a recent Gallup survey, reported The Nation.

The report further read that this is a worrying sign for Pakistan’s economy, as businesses are the backbone of any nation’s economy.
The ongoing political disputes in the nation are the primary cause of this gloomy economic picture. Investor confidence has decreased as a result of the ongoing disputes between the government and the opposition, which have caused an unpredictable economic environment. Companies are reluctant to make investments in such a setting for concern that their money may not be secure in the long run, according to the survey.

Consumer spending has already decreased as a result of the pandemic in recent years, which has had a negative impact on businesses, especially small and medium-sized ones (SMEs). The energy crisis and the restriction on the import of raw materials have also caused issues for large-scale industries also, as per a report published in The Nation.

According to the Gallup survey, businesses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh are the most negatively impacted, with 70 per cent of respondents indicating difficult times for their economic prospects, compared to 64 per cent of respondents in Punjab. In these areas, businesses are having a particularly difficult time surviving due to a lack of government support and a difficult business climate.

The government must act immediately to address the concerns of corporate fears and boost investor confidence in the economy. The government must put its attention on fostering a stable political climate and enacting laws that will benefit enterprises, especially SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises), which are the foundation of the national economy, The Nation reported.
