INDIA Bloc On Verge Of Breaking Due To Obstinate Attitude Of Cong: Tyagi

INDIA Bloc On Verge Of Breaking Due To Obstinate Attitude Of Cong: Tyagi

Janata Dal-United (JDU) leader KC Tyagi on Saturday held Congress responsible for cracks in the INDIA bloc and said that the alliance is now tattered and is headed towards its decline.

“The effort and intention with which Nitish Kumar had formed the INDIA alliance is on the verge of breaking due to the irresponsible and obstinate attitude of Congress,” he said.

“There is a big possibility of Akali Dal and BJP coming together in Punjab and the possibility of a fight between Congress and AAP. Similarly, Akhilesh Yadav is also unhappy with the attitude of the Congress Party and has also suggested that they should behave more responsibly. The worst situation is in West Bengal where Congress leaders want to hand over TMC’s elected government to President’s rule. Chief Minister Mamata has further increased the controversy by not allowing Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The INDIA alliance that we had is now tattered and is headed towards its decline,” Tyagi said.

Meanwhile, amid a political crisis in Bihar, BJP leader and Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey participated in the foundation laying ceremony of development works with CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday at Bihar’s Buxar and said that whatever will happen, will happen according to “God’s wish”.

“Whatever is God’s wish, will happen. The first time around, I only brought him (Nitish Kumar) here, and today also I have brought him,” he said.

in Delhi, BJP National President JP Nadda arrived at the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan is also present in the meeting.

“Everything will be known in some time,” Chirag Paswan said.

BJP Bihar Core Committee meeting is also underway in Bihar’s Patna.

Meanwhile, amid speculations that Nitish Kumar is poised to side with the BJP again, Union Minister Giriraj Singh referred to the Bihar Chief Minister as a “restless soul” while emphatically stating that the BJP will form the new government in the state in 2025.

“We will form a government in Bihar in 2025. People of Bihar will vote for BJP in Lok Sabha in 2024, and in Bihar in 2025. I am just observing what’s going on in the state…” Singh said.

Nitish Kumar, after parting ways with the BJP in 2022, took on the initiative of uniting all opposition forces to jointly take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling party in the national election. (ANI)

In 2000, Nitish became Chief Minister of the state for the first time after campaigning against RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s ‘Jungle Raaj’. Till now, he has held the chief ministerial post eight times.

In 2013, Nitish broke ranks with the NDA after a 17-year alliance following the announcement of Narendra Modi as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate. He expressed his displeasure to the BJP over Modi’s selection as the PM face, and after the BJP decided to not change its decision, Kumar left the alliance.

Manoj Patil Ends Fast As M’rashtra Govt Accepts All Demands

Amid a huge crowd of supporters, Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil ended his fast on Saturday in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde after the state government accepted all demands.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil together offered garlands to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Navi Mumbai.

Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil addressed the gathering and said, “This struggle was for reservation for Marathas. We came here to give 54 lakh Kunbi certificates. We have been struggling for the past four months. My generation had struggled to get this reservation. More than 300 people killed themselves during the struggle.”

Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil expressed pride in his community for following his words.

“Even though my physical condition doesn’t support fasting, I feel proud of people from my community who followed my words.”

Manoj Jarange Patil was earlier told not to enter Mumbai, over which he expressed disappointment, questioning, “Why was that?”

Manoj Jarange Patil pointed out the conspiracy to spread hatred between OBC and Marathas and took a dig at Chaggan Bhujbal.

“We still won’t allow any rift between OBC and Marathas, but they are trying to spread rift between us which won’t happen. There is lots of love between OBC and Marathas. We are united. You (Chaggan Bhujbal) are a big leader. Don’t try to spread hatred between communities.”

Manoj Jarange Patil warned of future action in case there is a problem with the ordinance.

“If any problem happens over this ordinance, I will be the first person to be at Azad Maidan.”

The Maratha community, under the leadership of Jarange Patil has been seeking reservation in education and jobs under the OBC category.

Patil, who began a fresh agitation in Vashi, Navi Mumbai on Friday, had outlined several demands, including Kunbi certificates for all Marathas, free education from kindergarten to postgraduate level, and reservation of seats for Marathas in government job recruitments. Following this the government issued the Ordinance accepting these demands. (ANI)

Uptick In Domestic Tourism is Fuelled by Nationalistic Pride

‘Uptick In Domestic Tourism is Fuelled by Nationalistic Pride’

Sushreeta Mohapatra, a content writer with Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, speaks about the latest Maldives vs Lakshadweep row. Her views

An upshot of the recent diplomatic fracas between India and Maldives over the Indian Prime Minister’s social media posts on the beauty of Lakshadweep has been the increasing interest among Indian tourists in visiting Indian destinations. But for how long will the wave sustain, and will it even translate into action?

Remember the days when the lockdown norms were eased and all you could see on your social media feeds were pictures of celebrities posing in exotic foreign locales? Nearly three years down the line, the penchant of Indian tourists for foreign locales is once again in the spotlight. Which begs the question – are we doing our country a disservice by choosing others for that dream vacation? Perhaps it is not as simple as it appears.

Nowadays, rather unfortunately, most people choose their vacation destinations not for the sights but for the likes they will bring. The simple joy in exploring new places has given way to the itch for sharing ‘Instagramworthy’ pictures. And let’s face it – travelling outside India for a vacation is seen more as a social status benchmark than anything else. Forget the luxury traveller – even the middle class is off to a foreign vacation at the first chance they can afford.

And with budget tours, cheap airfare, and ease of paperwork, who wouldn’t want to? The ‘have money, will travel’ motto which seems to drive most people, particularly the youth, to plan a vacation can easily be revised to read ‘have money, will travel abroad!’ That a vacation in some of these foreign locales burns a smaller hole in the pocket than one in a popular destination in India only complicates matters.

Following an appeal to the citizens by the Prime Minister during his 2019 Independence Day address to explore more Indian destinations, in 2020, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, launched the Dekho Apna Desh Scheme. The scheme was meant to encourage Indians to see more of their own country, to explore its “diverse and rich cultural heritage.”

Numbers speak encouragingly of the effort, portraying an over 11% increase in the number of annual domestic tourists in 2021. But here’s the catch – in the same period, the destinations which saw the most influx of domestic tourists continued to be the well-known ones, the Taj Mahal taking the top spot in terms of popularity. Are Indians less adventurous then, when it comes to seeking out new vacation destinations?

Not really. Indians travel their own country in far larger numbers than the recent news filtering down from social media seems to suggest. That the spotlight has been put on the lesser-explored destinations such as Lakshadweep and NorthEast India is less a reflection of actual travel trends and more of the continued ignorance of social media users. And let us not forget that some of these exotic Indian destinations have been accepting limited numbers of tourists, and for good reason.

To put the blame on the hospitality industry then would be misguided. After all, some of the best luxury hospitality enterprises offer spectacular experiences in scenic, remote locales within India, and they do have their takers.

In the end, only time, and people, will tell if ‘local’ tourist destinations will gain greater popularity at the expense of foreign vacations. For now, there is a wave that is fuelling the interest in exploring India, riding high on nationalistic pride, and if the seventh most beautiful country in the world (as ranked by a leading business magazine) can make the most of it, it only bodes well for everyone.

Will March Towards Mumbai, If Demands Not Met: Manoj Patil

Maratha Reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil on Friday warned Maharashtra government to issue a Government Resolution regarding Maratha quota adding that if demands are not met by tonight then protestors will march towards Mumbai on Saturday morning.

Reiterating his demands in Navi Mumbai, Jarange Patil urged the Maharashtra Government to withdraw all the cases registered by the police regarding the demand for Maratha reservation in the state.

“Let us wait here till tonight. Then the government should issue an ordinance and give it to us, this is important. We are giving time to the government till 11 am tomorrow, after that we will leave for Mumbai. If we go there we will not return,” Jarange Patil said.

Earlier, Maratha Reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil said on Thursday that their rally towards Mumbai will be peaceful, but no return will be made from the state capital without reservation.

“We are now left with one last stop, which is at Vashi. After Vashi, we will go towards Mumbai peacefully, but we will not come back without reservation. From today on, our number will increase and all the Maratha people from all over Maharashtra will gather in Mumbai. The people of Mumbai are also with us,” Patil said.

Also, the Supreme Court posted for hearing on January 24 a curative petition filed by the Maharashtra government challenging its May 5, 2021 judgment, which had held the Maratha reservation law unconstitutional.

The curative petition is the last chance available to the people or parties in the case after the review petition is dismissed.

On May 5, 2021, the Supreme Court struck down reservations for the Maratha community in colleges, higher educational institutions, and jobs, after noting that there was no valid ground to breach 50 per cent reservation while granting Maratha reservation. (ANI)
