In the pictures, the ‘Ram Leela’ actor wore a grey sweater as he posed looking away from the camera. As expected, the soon-to-be dad looked as handsome as ever.

Soon after Ranveer dropped the pictures, fans chimed in the comment section to wonder if this was Singh’s look for Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra Part 2.

Like Ranveer, Prasanth also assured fans that they would hope for an exciting collaboration in the future.

The Congress suffered a major setback on Tuesday as senior party leader Kiran Choudhry resigned from the primary membership of Congress saying that the party is being run as the “personal fiefdom” leaving no space for “sincere voices” like herself.

Her daughter Shruti Choudhry also resigned from the Congress on Tuesday.

“To spread the values ​​and ideology of the father of Haryana, Choudhary Bansi Lal in Haryana and honest development of the region and the state will always be my priority,” Kiran Choudhry said in a post on ‘X’ while sharing her resignation letter.

Choudhry further said that unfortunately, the Congress Party in Haryana has left no space for leaders like her who have been “stifled, humiliated and conspired against” in a most “well-orchestrated and systematic manner”.

“…it is most unfortunate that the Congress Party in Haryana is being run as the personal fiefdom leaving no space for sincere voices like mine, who have been stifled, humiliated and conspired against in a most well-orchestrated and systematic manner, thus, significantly hampering my diligent efforts to represent our people and uphold the values, I have always stood for,” Choudhry said in her resignation letter tendered to Congress president Malliakarjun Kharge.

Pointing out that she has been compelled to look ahead at a fresh start, Choudhry said, “I have been a loyal and steadfast Member of the Congress Party for the last 4 decades and have, over these years, devoted my life to the Party and the people whom I represent.”

“In Haryana, I also represent the rich legacy of Late Ch. Bansi Lal, the architect of Modern Haryana and my late husband Ch. Surender Singh,” the two-time former Cabinet Minister added.

Kiran Choudhry’s daughter Shruti Choudhry also resigned from the Congress on Tuesday.

“The Congress Party in Haryana has unfortunately become one-person-centric who has compromised the interest of the Party for his own selfish and petty interests and it is thus time for me to move on so that I may continue to uphold the interest of my people and the values that I stand for,” Shruti Choudhry said in her resignation letter.

In the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls, the Congress won five sears from Haryana, while the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party won five seats. (ANI)

In a major seizure linked with the Naxal Magadh Zone attempted revival case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday seized funds extorted from contractors and others in Bihar and Jharkhand which were used to finance the medical studies of a relative of some of the accused.

The money, amounting to Rs 1,13,70,500, has been seized under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in the case RC-05/2021/NIA/RNC) registered suo moto by the NIA on December 30, 2021.

NIA investigations have revealed that the amount had been directly transferred to the bank account of a medical college in Chennai, Tamil Nadu for the medical education of a relative of a senior naxal leader.

“The transfer was done through the bank accounts of close relatives of the accused persons, under the garb of a loan amount,” said the NIA.

The NIA stated that the niece of the FIR-named chargesheeted accused and Special Area Committee naxal member Pradyuman Sharma is the beneficiary of the extorted funds.

“She is also the sister of arrested chargesheeted accused Tarun Kumar and cousin of arrested chargesheeted accused Abhinav alias Gaurav alias Bittu,” the NIA added.

On January 20, 2023, NIA filed a chargesheet before its Special Court in Jharkhand’s Ranchi against two accused persons under various sections of Indian Penal Code and UA (P) Act. In June last year, it filed its first supplementary chargesheet in the case against one more accused, followed by a second supplementary chargesheet against two others in December 2023. (ANI)

Ministry of Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha said that this year the main Yoga event will be held in Srinagar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in it.

“The theme of this year is Yoga for Self and Society. The message is that we should do Yoga…And we should motivate the community…We shall make Yoga implemented at every aspect of our life,” Kotecha told ANI.

“This year the main celebration is happening at Srinagar. Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) will participate. In addition to this, the Jammu and Kashmir government is side by organising ( Yoga events) at all district headquarters at the same time,” Kotecha added.

Kotecha added: “The special thing is this year all the offices of the government of India is celebrating (Yoga). All state governments are celebrating. Everywhere it is being celebrated”.

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolising the union of body and consciousness.

Since 2015, the International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the world annually on June 21, following its adoption by the United Nations in 2014.

Several Yoga events are being organised at various places in India and even outside the country ahead of International Yoga Day.

Ahead of the International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon people to reiterate their commitment to making yoga an integral part of their lives.

PM Modi shared a set of videos showing various ‘Asanas’ on X, describing their benefits.

“As Yoga Day approaches, I am sharing a set of videos that will offer guidance on various Asanas and their benefits. I hope this inspires you all to practice Yoga regularly,” the Prime Minister posted on X.

He also asked people to encourage others to make it a part of theirs.

“As we approach this year’s Yoga Day, it is essential to reiterate our commitment to making Yoga an integral part of our lives and also encouraging others to make it a part of theirs. Veteran playback singer Alka Yagnik recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with a rare sensory neural nerve sensory loss.

Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, Alka explained why she has been absent and mentioned that an unexpected ‘major setback’ caught her off guard, and she is still trying to cope with it.

Sharing a picture of herself, Alka wrote a long note asking for everyone’s support and understanding. She also requested people to pray for her as she tries to readjust.

The caption of her post read, “To all my fans, friends, followers and well-wishers. A few weeks ago, as I walked out of a flight, I suddenly felt I was not able to hear anything. Having mustered some courage in the weeks following the episode, I want to break my silence now for all my friends and well-wishers who have been asking me why I’m missing in action (sic).”

“It has been diagnosed by my docs as a rare sensory neural nerve hearing loss, due to a viral attack…This sudden, major setback has caught me completely unaware. As I attempt to come to terms with it please keep me in your prayers (sic),” she added.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday told the Centre and National Testing Agency (NTA) that if there is any negligence in conducting the NEET-UG, 2024 exam, it should be thoroughly dealt with.

“If there is 0.001 per cent negligence on the part of anyone, it should be thoroughly dealt with. All these matters ought not to be treated as adversarial litigation,” observed a vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti.

The bench told counsels appearing for Centre and NTA that children have prepared for the exams and “we cannot forget their labour” for preparing for these exams.

It told the counsel of NTA that as an agency which is conducting the examination, it must “act fair”.

“If there is a mistake, say yes, this is a mistake, and this is the action we are going to take. At least that inspires confidence in your performance,” the top court told NTA while adding that it expects timely action from them.

Aspirants have raised the issue of leakage of the question paper, awarding compensatory marks and anomalies in the question of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2024.

The apex court, while hearing fresh petitions relating to alleged paper leaks and malpractices in the NEET-UG, 2024 exam on May 5 this year, issued notices and sought a response from NTA within two weeks.

It has tagged these pleas, along with several petitions pending before it and posted them for hearing on July 8.

Several petitions were filed in the apex court seeking direction to recall NEET-UG 2024 results and to conduct the examination afresh, alleging paper leakage and malpractices in the test held on May 5.

Last week, the NTA told the Supreme Court that the scorecards of 1563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates who got “grace marks” to compensate for the loss of time suffered while appearing for the exam will be cancelled and the students will have a chance to reappear for the exam.

“Exam will be conducted on June 23 and result will be declared before June 30,” NTA had told the apex court.

The apex court had already refused to stay the counselling of NEET-UG, 2024.

The NEET-UG examination, conducted by the NTA, is the pathway for admissions into MBBS, BDS and AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country. (ANI)

Heatwave to severe heat wave conditions are likely over many parts of Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi as people in various parts of the country continue to grapple with severe heat conditions, the India Meteorological Department said.

The IMD said that heat wave conditions are also likely over isolated places over Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Jharkhand.

“Heatwave to severe heat wave conditions are likely over many parts of Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi on 18th June 2024 and heat wave conditions are likely over isolated places over Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Bihar and Jharkhand,” IMD said in a post on X.

The temperature recorded in the national capital was 34.8 degrees Celsius at 08:30 am this morning, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum temperature reported over Ayanagar (Delhi) on Monday was 46.4 degrees Celsius.

The IMD on Monday also issued a red alert in Delhi and its bordering states as the heatwave conditions continue to prevail in the region.

The weather agency had also warned that severe heatwave conditions will continue in Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh till June 19.

“Western disturbance is expected over Bihar and Jharkhand from 18th or 19th June…South-westerly winds from the Arabian Sea may bring some moisture and associated relief over Punjab and Haryana from 18th or 19th June,” IMD scientist Soma Sen told ANI.

As the country endures the scorching summer heat, even the usually cool Himachal Pradesh is not spared, with the IMD issuing an orange alert for some parts of the state.

The IMD on Monday predicted heatwaves in Himachal Pradesh over the next two days. Orange alert has been issued for certain areas, while Yellow alert is issued in other parts of the state.

“There have been heatwave conditions in parts of the state during the past few days and is expected to continue during the next two days. In some parts of Una Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Sirmaur there are severe heatwaves. We have issued a Yellow alert and in some places, an Orange alert has been issued,” said Hemraj Verma, Scientist at IMD Himachal Pradesh.

“An orange alert has been issued for Mandi, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and Sirmaur. In most of the places, the temperatures are 6 to 8 degrees Celsius,” Verma stated.

The heat wave in the hills is causing concern among tourists who sought respite from the heat into the mountains.

Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla on June 13 recorded the highest temperature of the season, 30.6 degrees Celsius.

West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jharkhand, Haryana, and northeast Madhya Pradesh are also experiencing significant heatwave conditions.

Meanwhile, IMD also issued a forecast predicting extremely heavy rainfall over North East India.

“In the next 3-5 days, extremely heavy rainfall (above 20 cms) is expected over North East India mainly Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur. Heatwave conditions are expected in North India,” the IMD Scientist said.

“Red alert has been issued over Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. A thunderstorm-related orange alert has been issued for Madhya Pradesh,” she added. (ANI)
