Trump Criticizes Taylor Swift After Her Endorsement Of Harris

Former US President Donald Trump slammed singer Taylor Swift, days after she endorsed his presidential rival and Vice President, Kamala Harris.

In a strongly worded post, Trump said he “hates” the pop star.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” he said on Truth Social on Sunday.

Last week, Taylor Swift came in support of Vice President Kamala Harris, the day she sparred off Trump in a presidential debate organised by ABC News.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Swift said.

On Wednesday, she took to Instagram and penned a lengthy note.

The note stated, “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”

Harris was nominated as the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden quit the presidential race amid mounting concerns over his age, particularly after his poor show in the debate with Donald Trump in June.

She is the first female, first Black, and first Asian American vice president. If elected president, the 59-year-old Harris would become the first woman in history to become the US president. The vice president is only the second woman ever nominated for the presidency by a major political party.

Heaping praises on Harris, Swift called her a “warrior” and a “steady-handed, gifted leader”. She also said the country can accomplish much more if led by ‘calm’ than being led by “chaos,” in a veiled reference to former President Trump.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” the singer added.

She concluded her post by calling herself a “childless cat lady,” alluding to a phrase previously used by Sen JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, to criticize Democrats.

Kamala Harris is of Indian origin. Her mother was Indian and her father is Jamaican; both immigrated to the United States. She was born in Oakland, California, and attended a historically black university, Howard University, in Washington. (ANI)

Pulwama AIP Candidate Joins National Conference, Backs NC-Congress Alliance For J-K Polls

Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) candidate from Pulwama Assembly seat, Mohammad Iqbal Sofi, on Monday joined National Conference in the presence of National Conference leader Omar Abdullah.

After joining NC, Mohammad Iqbal Sofi urged the people to support the NC-Congress alliance in the assembly polls.

“I was contesting candidate of AIP from Pulwama. I received this information that AIP is forming an alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI). Voting will be conducted on September 18 and yesterday, we got this news suddenly through social media…I believe that NC will win all the seats…I cannot withdraw my candidature so I request everyone to support the candidate of the NC-Congress alliance,” Sofi said.

Sofi also praised the National Conference.

Omar Abdullah said that the reality of AIP chief Engineer Rashid is coming out in front of the people.

“It is good that the reality of Engineer Rashid and his party is coming out in front of the people. The person who joined NC today was a candidate from AIP. But Engineer Rashid left his candidates and supported someone else…Here are two candidates, from Pulwama and Kulgam, who were ditched by Engineer Rashid at the end moment.”

Earlier, Omar Abdullah said that he is hoping that a good portion of the votes will go to the National Conference candidates.

“We are hoping that when the voting takes place the day after tomorrow, a good portion of the votes will go to the National Conference candidates, and they will be successful here,” he said.

Referring to Sheikh Abdul Rashid, commonly referred as Engineer Rashid, Omar Abdullah said his strings “are connected somewhere else”.

“He gets the signal from somewhere else. They dance on that signal. It is obvious that they have been fielded to target the National Conference. There is no problem, we can face it.”

Last week, a special NIA court in Delhi granted bail to Rashid, MP, who is an accused in the terror funding case, and allowed him to campaign in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held on September 18, September 25, and October 1. Votes will be counted on October 8.

These are the first assembly polls to be held in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. (ANI)

This Election Is Between BJP And Gandhi-Abdullah Alliance: Shah

Ahead of the crucial Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir which are being held after a gap of 10 years Union Home Minister Amit Shah drew the battle lines and said that this election is between the BJP and the alliance between Congress and the National Conference.

Speaking at an election rally in Kishtwar on Sunday Amit Shah said, “The upcoming elections are between two forces. On one hand, you have the BJP which walks on the ideals of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra and Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee. It’s clear to us that J&K was and will always be an integral part of India. When we fought against the idea of ‘2 Vidhaan and 2 Pradhan’ for the country, the Congress Party, under the leadership of Nehru, opposed our campaign. Farooq Ji used to say that even if Modi Ji becomes Prime Minister 10 times, he cannot remove Article 370. Mehbooba ji used to say that if Article 370 is removed, there will be bloodshed. But our Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed Article 370 and established one flag, one leader and one constitution in the country.”

He further asserted that till the time BJP is there no one would be able to remove Article 370.

“This election is between those who have abrogated Article 370 and those who brought Article 370. I wish to ask the Gurjars and Pahadis in the last 70 years what has Article 370 given to you? Due to Article 370 the Gurjars, Pahadis, Dalits or women of Jammu and Kashmir did not get the benefits of reservation. PM Modi gave reservation to Paharis, OBCs and Dalits without touching the reservation of the Gurjars. For 70 years they ruled Jammu and Kashmir but why panchayat polls were not held? PM Modi within 10 years conducted Gram panchayat, block panchayat and district panchayat polls,” the Union Home Minister said.

PM Modi has strengthened the democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.

Amit Shah said, “Modi Ji strengthened democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. I want to ask Farooq Abdullah that your three generations ruled, but did the people of Jammu and Kashmir ever get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh? Modi ji provided free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to everyone, from the valley to the plains and the second Rs 5 lakh would be given the senior citizens above the age of 70 years. Abdullah’s family ruled Jammu and Kashmir for three generations. Did anyone get 5 kg rice free during their rule? PM Modi has given rice to every house.”

The Home Minister questioned the Abdullah family and asked them if they had done anything to bring water to every house like the BJP government had done under the scheme “Har Ghar me Nal se Jal”.

“If the BJP government is formed then we are committed for the development of Jammu region, Rajouri and Poonch. They (Abdullah-Gandhi) say that if they come to power then all those who are in jail on charges of terrorism will be freed. Once the Abdullah, Gandhi and Muftis are defeated we will completely eradicate terrorism from the valley. Congress put Sheikh Abdullah in jail for anti-national activities, if Rahul Gandhi has the courage he should keep the white paper in front of the country which was given to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly then. The same Congress which blamed Abdullah family for terrorism and kept Omar Abdullah’s father in jail are now forming alliance to win polls,” Amit Shah said.

Congress and the National Conference have formed an alliance for the assembly polls. Assembly polls will be held in Jammu and Kashmir in three phases on September 18, September 25 and November 1. Votes will be counted on October 8. (ANI)

“It would provide formal acknowledgement of the atrocities we’ve suffered, aligning with India’s commitments under international law, including the Genocide Convention, which India has ratified,” it added.

The Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora highlighted the Supreme Court’s recommendation of establishing of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and proposed setting up of a high-powered Sarla Bhat Tribunal to investigate the “horrible atrocities committed against our community”, as well as to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“We urge you to treat this appeal with the utmost urgency and seriousness and we remain open to a constructive dialogue on how best to implement these measures. Shanghai Faces Strongest Typhoon In 70 Yrs; Flights, Trains Suspended

China’s Shanghai province faced severe disruptions Monday morning as Typhoon Bebinca, the strongest storm to directly hit the city in over seven decades, leading to widespread shutdowns, CNN reported.

The Chinese financial hub, home to 25 million residents, was brought to a standstill as flights, trains, and highways were suspended during a national holiday period.

Typhoon Bebinca made landfall in an industrial area southeast of the city around 7:30 am (local time). The Joint Typhoon Warning Centre (JTWC) reported that the storm brought maximum wind speeds of 130 kilometres per hour (80 mph), equivalent to a Category 1 hurricane on the Atlantic scale.

Chinese state media confirmed it was the most powerful storm to strike Shanghai since 1949.

Notably, the timing of Typhoon Bebinca caused significant disruption during the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, a three-day national holiday, as reported by CNN. Holiday makers found their travel plans thrown into dismay as authorities worked to minimise the storm’s impact.

Since 8 pm Sunday, all flights at Shanghai’s two major international airports were grounded. Most train and ferry services were halted, further complicating transportation in and out of the city.

Additionally, several highways and bridges in Shanghai were closed as a precautionary measure against the typhoon’s destructive winds and heavy rains. (ANI)

Bahraich: 11-Year-Old Boy Attacked By Wolf, Search Ongoing For Sixth ‘Killer’ Wolf

“My son was severely wounded in the attack and admitted to a hospital, “Umar added.

Mohammad Umar says that the wolf menace is continuing in the village for the past several days.

“Earlier also many people have become the targets of wolf in the village. The administration is trying its level best to catch the man-eater but has not been successful in its mission,” Mohammad Umar said.

“People are afraid to venture out in the night in the village. We are assisting the local administration in taming the wild animal and cage it,” he added.

The villagers claim the wolf has been escaping the forest authorities and hope that it gets captured soon.

“Although the administration is trying its level best to put the wolf under cage, it is escaping every time. We wish it is caught as soon as possible,” Mohammad Umar said.

Earlier, on Sunday Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Bahraich district to meet the families affected by the wolf attack and assured the locals that the administration will work under ‘Operation Bhediya’ on the issue until the district becomes danger-free.

Addressing a gathering Chief Minister Yogi said, “There have been some casualties due to the attacks from the wolves. There have been some deaths due to the terror of wolves for the last two months, and some children have also been injured. When I was informed about this for the first time, I immediately instructed the administration to run a campaign.”

“There is a forest department team whose priority is to rescue the animal, but there are also shoot-at-sight orders as a last resort amid a growing number of wolf attacks in the Bahraich district,” added the CM.

Meanwhile, forest department officials are making all efforts to capture the sixth “killer” wolf under the ‘Operation Bhediya’ campaign that was launched in the state to capture a pack of six wolves that have killed nine people and injured 50 people since July this year.

The Uttar Pradesh Forest Department captured the fifth ‘killer’ wolf on September 10, while one wolf remains elusive. The wolves had been behind several attacks on villagers in Bahraich, and the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department took the wolf to a rescue shelter. (ANI)

As the Chief Minister of Gujarat, PM Modi played a pivotal role in advancing renewable energy. Under his guidance, Gujarat emerged as the frontrunner in green energy sectors. Upon becoming the Prime Minister of India, he made it a global mission to create a cleaner and more sustainable world,” Joshi said.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel said that under the leadership of PM Modi, Gujarat emerged as the leading state in the renewable energy sector and added that the state’s renewable energy policy and green hydrogen policy reflect the state government’s commitment to a green future.

“The installed capacity of renewable energy in Gujarat is over 50,000 megawatts, with renewable energy contributing 54 per cent to the state’s energy capacity. Gujarat leads the country in solar power installation,” he said.

He further stressed the mission to produce 3 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum) of green hydrogen, positioning Gujarat at the forefront of the green hydrogen revolution in India. “Today, the state of Gujarat is emerging as a prime destination for investment in the green energy sector,” he added.
