Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan and his daughter Sara Ali Khan on Friday afternoon stepped out in the city for a lunch date.

Both looked their best in casuals. While Sara opted for a white crop top with a pair of blue jeans, her dad was seen dressed in a fitted grey t-shirt and blue denims.

Before entering the restaurant, Saif and Saif happily greeted the paps.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Saif is gearing up for the release of his Telugu debut ‘Devara: Part 1’. The film will be out in theatres on September 27.

Recently, at the trailer launch of the film in Mumbai, Saif shared his experience working on his first Telugu film.

“I remember my first shot speaking Telugu, and I had a bit of sweat running down my back. I felt nervous in a very different way. I come from the same country, but our states are different from one another. Going down there was a totally different experience,” he said.

Written and directed by Koratala Siva, ‘Devara’ also stars NTR Jr and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.

NTR Jr also expressed his excitement about the film’s release.

He said, “I am very nervous because this is my next film post ‘RRR’. Moreover, ‘RRR’ was with my co-actor Ram Charan but this is my solo release after six years so there is a lot of nervousness which is building but very happy to launch the trailer of ‘Devara’ in the city of Mumbai because the experience we had while promoting ‘RRR’ was just surreal. The acceptance of the North has shocked us all. I hope it’s repeated with ‘Devara’.”

Speaking of Sara’s upcoming projects, she will be seen sharing screen space with Aditya Roy Kapur in ‘Metro…In Dino’, which is directed by Anurag Basu.

The anthology film also features Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, and Konkona Sen Sharma in lead roles.

‘Metro…In Dino’ marks Aditya and Basu’s second collaboration. The duo first worked together in ‘Ludo’.

‘Metro In Dino,’ a film that apparently draws its title from the popular song ‘In Dino’ from ‘Life in a… Metro’, will showcase bittersweet tales of human relationships based in contemporary times.

Sharing more details about the film, Basu, in a press note shared by the film’s team, had earlier said, “Metro In Dino is a tale of the people and for the people! It has been a while since I am working on this one and I am glad to be collaborating with a powerhouse like Bhushan Kumar yet again who has always been like a pillar to me!”

“The storyline is very fresh and relevant as I look forward to collaborating with amazing artists who bring that essence of contemporary aura with them. As music plays a very important role in any film, I couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with my dear friend Pritam who has literally added life to the characters and story with his work,” he added.

Basu is known for his films like ‘Barfi’, ‘Life In a Metro’, ‘Ludo’, and ‘Jagga Jasoos’.

Sara is also set to share the screen with Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time in an upcoming action-comedy. The film will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment. They are uniting once again for their third theatrical collaboration. (ANI)

Singer Guru Randhawa on Friday released his new track ‘Rich Life’, which he created with international artiste Rick Ross.

The music video, set in the picturesque dunes of Dubai, showcases luxury and opulence, in line with the song’s theme of living a “rich life.”

On Collaborating with Rick Ross, Guru in a press note shared by the team representing the song, said, “An unforgettable journey working with incredible artists from the music industry – Rick Ross and DJ Shadow. The film, produced under Guru Randhawa’s own banner 751 Films and directed by Dheeraj Kedar Nath, promises to be a heartwarming and entertaining treat for the fans.

Speaking about her acting debut, Nimrit, in a press note shard by her team, said”It’s an absolute honor to make my debut in a Punjabi film, especially alongside Guru Randhawa, who is such an icon in the industry. ‘Shaunki Sardar’ is a beautiful story that celebrates the rich culture and spirit of Punjab, and I couldn’t have asked for a better project to begin this journey. The ‘Patola’ singer said, “I have watched so many movies and I felt like I can now take this responsibility to reach audience with something, which is promising, shows hardwork and efforts. And with the great script. When I decided to do acting, then I took some workshops. When we got Kuch Khatta Ho Jaay, me and Saiee did workshops. There is a similarity in singing, acting and dancing, that’s ‘Sur’. Now this role proposed to me in this film, nobody can do better than me, this particular role because now I have done it.” (ANI)

In a major setback for the Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction party’s OBC leader, Ishwar Balbudhe joined the Sharad Pawar-led opposition camp in Mumbai on Friday.

Ishwar Balbudhe joined the party in the presence of Maharashtra NCP President Jayant Patil and NCP-SCP leader Anil Deshmukh.

Earlier on September 10, National Congress Party (SCP) MLA Jayant Patil claimed that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is now controlled by his consultants ‘to a great extent’.

“Ajit Pawar is not the same anymore, I don’t know if his nature has changed or not but he has hired consultants for what to say in his speeches in front of the media, they have been given the responsibility by spending a lot of money. He (Ajit Pawar) speaks in the manner he is advised,” he said.

Last year in July, Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar led a vertical split in his party and joined hands with the National Democratic Alliance and took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Maharashtra legislative assembly elections will be held in 288 constituencies. The Election Commission of India has yet to announce the dates for the election.

The upcoming Maharashtra election will see a contest between the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, comprising the UBT Shiv Sena, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, and the Maha Yuti Alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction).

The recent Lok Sabha Election has given a boost to the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, with the Shiv Sena (UBT) winning nine seats, the Congress 13, and the NCP-SP winning eight, bringing the total tally of the alliance to 30.

On the other hand, the Mahayuti alliance suffered a major blow, with the BJP winning only nine seats, Shiv Sena winning seven and the NCP folding with one seat, bringing the total tally of the alliance to 17. (ANI)

The Delhi Police has imposed the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) on jailed notorious gangster Hashim Baba and eight other members of his gang for their continuous involvement in criminal activity, officials confirmed on Friday.

Hashim Baba has multiple cases registered against him, including allegations of involvement in a murder conspiracy, the extortion act, the arms act, and the passport act.

Hashim Baba has been lodged in Tihar jail since 2020.

The other miscreants on whom MCOCA is imposed are Rashid Cablewala, Sachin Golu, Sohail, and Shahrukh, who have allegedly been carrying out multiple criminal activities while being part of the Hashim gang for a long time.

The relevant MCOC Act provisions have been imposed related to certain criminal cases of 2013.

Yesterday, Delhi Delhi Special Police Cell and the Meerut Special Task Force (STF) in a joint operation in Uttar Pradesh arrested two sharp henchmen of the Hashim Baba gang in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old gym owner, Nadir Shah, who was shot dead in full public view in South Delhi on September 12.

As per the Delhi Special Police Cell, the suspects, identified as Anas Khan (18) and Asad Ameen (21) were shot in the leg during the encounter with the police.

Three pistols with nine live cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the accused, as per the Delhi Special Police Cell.

Additionally, Anas has been wanted in four criminal cases in Delhi, two of murder and two of attempt to murder.

The MCOC Act is meant to prevent organised and underworld criminal activities. (ANI)

Reacting to the allegations of usage of animal fat in the making of the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said on Friday that the Telegu Desam Party (TDP) is “politicising religious matters.”

Chandrababu Naidu had alleged that the previous YSR Congress-led government used animal fat in Laddus at Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati

“The tender process occurs every six months, and the qualification criteria has not changed for decades. Suppliers must provide an NABL certificate and a product quality certificate. TTD collects samples from the ghee, and only products that pass certification are used. TDP is politicizing religious matters. We have rejected the products in our regime 18 times,” Jaganmohan Reddy said.

Meanwhile, executive officer of Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam (TTD) Shamala Rao said that there had been apprehensions about the quality of the Prasadam and the under CM Naidu’s instructions a lab test of the same was ordered.

“When I took over as executive officer TTD, the CM expressed concern on the ghee procured and the quality of the laddu which is considered to be very sacred and offered as ‘Prasadam’ to Lord Venkateswara Swamy. Any deviation in the quality will cause doing ‘apavithram’ (doing something which is not sacred). He wanted me to take steps to ensure that the sanctity of this temple is restored including getting pure cow milk ghee. We started working on that… We found that we don’t have any internal lab to test adulteration in the ghee. There is no system to check the quality of ghee in outside labs also… The rates quoted by tenderers are unviable, they are so low that anyone can say that pure cow ghee cannot cost so less… We warned all suppliers, that they will be blacklisted if the ghee supplied doesn’t pass the lab test… We collected all samples and sent it to the best lab, it is government-controlled, and the reports have come and are shocking,”she said.

Earlier on Thursday, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh shared a video clip in which Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was seen saying that previously animal fat was used in consecrated sweets–‘Tirupati Prasadam’ instead of ‘Ghee’ at Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati.

In a post on X, Andhra Minister Nara Lokesh said that he was shocked by the findings and added, “The Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Tirumala is our most sacred temple. I am shocked to learn that the YS Jagan administration used animal fat instead of ghee in the Tirupati Prasadam.”

“Shame on YS Jagan and the YSR party government that couldn’t respect the religious sentiments of crores of devotees,” he added.

The charges of the AP CM have been denied by former TDP Chairman and YSRCP leader YV Subbareddy, who claimed that only organic ingredients were used in the preparation of Prasadam.

“All the ingredients used for Swami’s offerings from the last three years are all organic ingredients, including ghee. This is a very vile allegation that our government and our party, which have done so many programs while protecting the sanctity of Swami, are doing so many programs to mislead the people,” he said. Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah completed 400 wickets in international cricket, becoming the 10th bowler from his team to do so.

Bumrah reached this milestone during India’s first Test against Bangladesh at Chennai.

During the game, in Bangladesh’s first innings, Bumrah took 4/50 in 11 overs, with an economy rate of 4.50. He got the wickets of Shadman Islam, Mushfiqur Rahim, Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed.

Now, in 196 international matches, Bumrah has taken 401 wickets at an average of 21.01, with the best bowling figures of 6/19. He is the only sixth Indian pacer to reach this milestone.

In 37 Tests, Bumrah has taken 163 wickets at an average of 20.49, with the best figures of 6/27. He has 10 five-wicket hauls in the long format.

In 89 ODIs, Bumrah has taken 149 wickets at an average of 23.55, with the best figures of 6/19. He has two wicket hauls in the format.

In 70 T20Is, Bumrah has taken 89 wickets at an average of 17.74, with the best figures of 3/7.

The top three wicket takers for India in international cricket are: Anil Kumble (953 wickets), Ravichandran Ashwin (744 wickets), and Harbhajan Singh (707 wickets).

Coming to the match, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah in an assertive statement on Friday said that the government will uproot naxalism and the idea of naxalism from the country in a span of 1-1.5 years.

Home Minister Amit Shah during an interaction with the Naxal violence victims from Chhattisgarh, said “We will uproot Naxalism and the idea of Naxalism from this country and establish peace…The Narendra Modi government has been successful in ending Naxalism in the entire country except for 4 districts of Bastar. The date of 31.03.2026 has been fixed to bid final farewell to Naxalism from this country. I assure you that Naxalism will be ended before that.”

“I cannot retract the damage that has already been done, but I will try to ensure that innocent people don’t have to face any such issues,” he added.

Guaranteeing complete support from the Centre for improved infrastructure and resources in the area, Shah stated, “The Chhattisgarh government has requested help from the central government for the PM Awas Yojana and sanitation facilities. These services will be provided to you. The Home Ministry will manage health facilities linked to the Yojana, and a detailed plan will be created in partnership with the state government to tackle the Naxal issue.”

Shah encouraged those involved in Naxal activities to abandon their weapons and reintegrate into society. He stated that the government could soon launch a campaign to encourage this.

“Lay down your weapons and return to the mainstream–many in Kashmir have made that choice, and you can too. If not, we will initiate a campaign to encourage this change,” he said.

Notably, there have been continuous efforts by the government to end naxalism in India. In a recent operation, a Naxal was killed an encounter with security forces in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

According to the Sukma police, the encounter took place early in the morning in the jungles on a hill near Tumalpad village under Chintagufa police station limits when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxalite operation.

Moreover, four battalions of the Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) comprising 4000 CRPF personnel are set to be deployed in Bastar for anti-insurgency operations.

On August 24, during an inter-state coordination meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police of Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states suffering from left-wing extremism in the area, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that there was a 70 per cent reduction in the deaths of security personnel who were killed due to naxalism and that the fight has reached the end phase and by March 2026, the country will be completely free from naxalism.

“In the first 10 years, 6617 security personnel were killed and now there has been a 70 per cent reduction. Similarly, we have witnessed a 69 per cent reduction in the deaths of citizens. I believe that our fight has reached the end phase and by March 2026, we will be able to free the country completely from naxalism,” Shah said. (ANI)

As polling for assembly elections are approaching Haryana, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday, in a satirical video, took a jibe at the BJP-led Haryana Government and said that the state government has been sleeping for 10 years.

Kharge on his social media handle on X shared a satirical video, which showed that the public (primarily youth) of Haryana is trying to wake up the “sleeping” Haryana government, citing several issues including unemployment, inflation, kidnapping, murder, crime, and MSP, but instead of acting on the issues, the government remains impassive.

In a social media post on X, Mallikarjun Kharge, while sharing a video, wrote, “The BJP government in Haryana has been sleeping for 10 years. Now we will get relief from inflation, unemployment, farmer oppression and crime…! Bring Congress, save Haryana!”

In the shared video, the individuals said, “Get up; unemployment and inflation are increasing with speed of rocket. Haryana has become number 1 in the kidnapping, murder and ransom; it’s time to wake up. Farmers didn’t get MSP; rather, they got the ‘black- laws.’ This is Haryana’s 10-year-old government, which will keep sleeping, but you (the public) need to wake up. Congress Lao, Haryana Bachao!”

Meanwhile, after the Bharatiya Janata Party released its manifesto for Haryana Assembly polls, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Thursday that it’s a copy paste of their manifesto, and from 2014 to 2019, the BJP did nothing.

Hooda said, “It is a copy-paste of ours. We have said that theirs are all false promises. Look at our manifestos from 2005 and 2009; we fulfilled all our promises. Look at their manifestos from 2014 and 2019–they did nothing. They made false ‘ghoshna patra’. It is a bundle of lies.”

The Congress on Wednesday announced seven guarantees for Haryana assembly polls which will be part of its election manifesto, promising restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, two lakh jobs, caste survey, 300 units of free power and free medical treatment upto Rs 25 lakh.

Making the announcement about the guarantees, party chief Mallikarjun Kharge said here that guarantees pertain to women, social security, youth, the poor, and the farmers.

The Congress has promised Rs 2000 per month to women above the age of 18 as well as the availability of gas cylinders at Rs 500. As part of steps to strengthen social security, Kharge said old age pension, disability pension and widow pension will be Rs 6,000.

Even as the Centre has announced the Unified Pension Scheme as an option to the New Pension Scheme, the Congress has promised restoration of the Old Pension Scheme.

For the youth, the party has promised 2 lakh confirmed jobs and a drug-free Haryana. Under the promise of “happiness to every family”, the Congress has promised 300 units of free electricity and free treatment of up to Rs 25 lakh.

The farmers have been promised legal guarantee of a minimum support price and immediate compensation for crop loss. The party talked of ‘Rs 10 gaz plot’ for the poor and a two-room flat at a cost of Rs 3.5 lakh.

Talking of rights of backwards, the party has promised caste survey and increasing limit of creamy layer to Rs 10 lakh. Kharge expressed confidence that Congress will win Haryana polls slated for October 5.

Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5. Votes will be counted on October 8 along with that in Jammu and Kashmir. (ANI)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited an exhibition organised on the sidelines of National ‘PM Vishwakarma’ Programme in Maharashtra’s Wardha on Friday.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and MoS Education Jayant Chaudhary were present on the occasion.

The National ‘PM Vishwakarma’ Programme marks one year of progress under PM Vishwakarma. PM Modi is scheduled to address the event later in the day.

During the programme, Prime Minister will release certificates and loans to PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries. Symbolising the tangible support extended to artisans under this Scheme, he will also distribute credit under PM Vishwakarma to 18 beneficiaries under 18 trades. As a tribute to their legacy and enduring contribution to society, he will release a commemorative stamp dedicated to mark one year of progress under PM Vishwakarma.

Further, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park at Amravati, Maharashtra. The 1000 acre park is being developed by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) as the State Implementation Agency. Government of India had approved setting up of 7 PM MITRA Parks for the Textile industry. PM MITRA Parks are a major step forward in realising the vision of making India a global hub for textile manufacturing and exports.

Prime Minister will launch the “Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Center” scheme of Government of Maharashtra. Skill development training centres will be established in renowned colleges across the state to provide training to youth aged 15 to 45, enabling them to become self-reliant and access various employment opportunities. Around 1,50,000 youths across the state will receive free skill development training each year.

Prime Minister will also launch “Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme”. Under the scheme, early-stage support will be given to women-led startups in Maharashtra. Financial assistance up to Rs25 lakh will be provided. 25 per cent of the total provisions under this scheme will be reserved for women from backward classes and economically weaker sections as specified by the government.
