Election BJP Gandhi-Abdullah Alliance Amit Shah

This Election Is Between BJP And Gandhi-Abdullah Alliance: Shah

Ahead of the crucial Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir which are being held after a gap of 10 years Union Home Minister Amit Shah drew the battle lines and said that this election is between the BJP and the alliance between Congress and the National Conference.

Speaking at an election rally in Kishtwar on Sunday Amit Shah said, “The upcoming elections are between two forces. On one hand, you have the BJP which walks on the ideals of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra and Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee. It’s clear to us that J&K was and will always be an integral part of India. When we fought against the idea of ‘2 Vidhaan and 2 Pradhan’ for the country, the Congress Party, under the leadership of Nehru, opposed our campaign. Farooq Ji used to say that even if Modi Ji becomes Prime Minister 10 times, he cannot remove Article 370. Mehbooba ji used to say that if Article 370 is removed, there will be bloodshed. But our Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed Article 370 and established one flag, one leader and one constitution in the country.”

He further asserted that till the time BJP is there no one would be able to remove Article 370.

“This election is between those who have abrogated Article 370 and those who brought Article 370. I wish to ask the Gurjars and Pahadis in the last 70 years what has Article 370 given to you? Due to Article 370 the Gurjars, Pahadis, Dalits or women of Jammu and Kashmir did not get the benefits of reservation. PM Modi gave reservation to Paharis, OBCs and Dalits without touching the reservation of the Gurjars. For 70 years they ruled Jammu and Kashmir but why panchayat polls were not held? PM Modi within 10 years conducted Gram panchayat, block panchayat and district panchayat polls,” the Union Home Minister said.

PM Modi has strengthened the democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.

Amit Shah said, “Modi Ji strengthened democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. I want to ask Farooq Abdullah that your three generations ruled, but did the people of Jammu and Kashmir ever get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh? Modi ji provided free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to everyone, from the valley to the plains and the second Rs 5 lakh would be given the senior citizens above the age of 70 years. Abdullah’s family ruled Jammu and Kashmir for three generations. Did anyone get 5 kg rice free during their rule? PM Modi has given rice to every house.”

The Home Minister questioned the Abdullah family and asked them if they had done anything to bring water to every house like the BJP government had done under the scheme “Har Ghar me Nal se Jal”.

“If the BJP government is formed then we are committed for the development of Jammu region, Rajouri and Poonch. They (Abdullah-Gandhi) say that if they come to power then all those who are in jail on charges of terrorism will be freed. Once the Abdullah, Gandhi and Muftis are defeated we will completely eradicate terrorism from the valley. Congress put Sheikh Abdullah in jail for anti-national activities, if Rahul Gandhi has the courage he should keep the white paper in front of the country which was given to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly then. The same Congress which blamed Abdullah family for terrorism and kept Omar Abdullah’s father in jail are now forming alliance to win polls,” Amit Shah said.

Congress and the National Conference have formed an alliance for the assembly polls. Assembly polls will be held in Jammu and Kashmir in three phases on September 18, September 25 and November 1. Votes will be counted on October 8. (ANI)

“Although the administration is trying its level best to put the wolf under cage, it is escaping every time. We wish it is caught as soon as possible,” Mohammad Umar said.

Delhi CM

Delhi CM Has Faith In His People: Saurabh Bharadwaj

Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will tender his resignation on Tuesday following which the laegislative party meeting will be held to elect a leader.

“Whoever will get elected will present the claim to the President through the Lieutenant Governor. The MLAs are with us. So obviously that person will be called and will take oath. I think this whole process should be completed within a week…” Bharadwaj said at a press conference here today.

AAP supremo Kejriwal on Sunday announced his decision to step down and not sit on the CM’s chair until people of Delhi declared him “honest.” He also sought for preponement of polls in the national capital to November this year from the scheduled February next year.

“It has never happened in history that a sitting Chief Minister, after coming out of jail, is himself announcing that if you consider me honest, then vote for me… This will be the first election in the country, in which a Chief Minister is saying that this election will be fought in the name of honesty and that too, when the central government of the country, along with all the agencies, be it ED, CBI, Income Tax, all the agencies, are after the Chief Minister and no effort has been left to defame him,” Bharadwaj said.

The AAP leader said, “Despite what the Bharatiya Janata Party has done in the past two years, the Chief Minister still has faith in people and his honesty… The people of Delhi are eager for elections to be held so that they can vote and make Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister again…”

Bharadwaj said that this would be the first time in history that a CM is saying that the elections would be fought on the plank of honesty.

“The people have also been saying that it was a good thing that the CM did not resign in jail but came out of the jail and resigned. otherwise BJP would have said that he resigned due to their pressure.” Bharadwaj said.

Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit on Monday criticised Kejriwal’s resignation announcement, calling the decision more about business than politics.

Meanwhile, the AAP has convened a meeting this evening. (ANI)

A letter has been sent to the junior doctors stating, “This is the fifth and final time we are reaching out to you for a meeting between the Honourable Chief Minister and your delegates. In line with our discussion from the day before, we are once again inviting you to a meeting with the Honourable Chief Minister at her Kalighat residence for a discussion with an open mind.”

“We demanded the live streaming to let the public know about what was happening inside the meeting. We don’t know what their problem is… We demand live streaming of the meeting…Our five demands are very justified…The public is supporting us because we are apolitical and we have not bent down to the pressures of the government…We are ready to compromise, but if they don’t listen to our demands, then there is no point in calling us for a meeting,” said a protesting doctor.

As the junior doctors continue their protest at Swasthya Bhawan, in the Salt Lake area, Tala Police Station incharge Abhijit Mondal has been taken for medical examination from the CBI Office in Kolkata.

Iltija Mufti

My Duty To Make J&K People Feel Safe, Secure: Iltija Mufti

PDP candidate from the Bijbehara assembly constituency of Jammu and Kashmir, and Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter, Iltija Mufti, said that it is her responsibility to make people feel safe, secure, and dignified after the insecurities inflicted by the centre.

Iltija who is the third generation of the Mufti family to enter active politics says that the people in J&K feel anxious that they will be deprived of their land and jobs, but it is her responsibility to cater to their aspirations.

In an interview with ANI, Iltija Mufti said, “My responsibility is that I become a ray of hope for the people. People for five years are not left with any hope. The youths here are unemployed, and prices are rising. So it is my responsibility to give them hope and security. People must feel safe, secure, and dignified. They have been inflicted with the insecurity of getting deprived of their lands and jobs.”

On being asked if people think that the abrogation of Article 370 was because of PDP, she said, “People here love PDP. It is a wrong and generic statement.”

“He is stressed right now. He is contesting from two constituencies. Don’t take him seriously. He is very nervous right now,” Iltija Mufti said.

While the PDP has promised the restoration of statehood in its election manifesto, Iltija Mufti has put the onus of this on the BJP lead central government.

“You need to ask the BJP. They also said that 10 lakhs will be deposited in everybody’s bank accounts. Nobody received it,” she said.
