Govt Ready To Discuss, Only Request Is House Should Run Well: Rijiju

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju asserted that the union government is “ready to discuss any topic” while calling for a peaceful session of Parliament.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday after the all-party meeting in Delhi, Rijiju said several topics were raised requesting for discussion in Parliament as winter session is scheduled to kick off tomorrow.

“A total of 42 leaders from 30 political parties were present in the meeting. There are many topics. Everyone has asked for discussion on some topics but we want that there should be a good discussion in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The government is ready to discuss any topic. Our only request is that the House should run well and there should be no ruckus. Every member wants to participate in the discussion but the House should run well. To run the winter session well, everyone’s cooperation is needed and everyone’s participation is necessary,” Kiren Rijiju said.

Rijiju said that though the winter session is scheduled to commence tomorrow there will be no session on November 26 in view of the Constitution Day celebrations. On completion of 75 years, Constitution Day will be celebrated in the Constitution House with the members of both the Houses, the Union Minister added.

“The session will start tomorrow. The day after tomorrow there will be no Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha because the 75th year of the adoption of the Constitution will be completed on 26th November. So on completion of 75 years, Constitution Day will be celebrated in the Constitution House with the members of both the Houses. President Droupadi Murmu will address there and along with that, we are going to release some important documents. Many things related to the Constitution are going to be published in it,” he said.

“Many people do not know what processes were done before the making of the Constitution. The book is not an ordinary book. The pictures inside the book, the descriptions that have been given and the basic idea, we all have to make an effort to take it to the public. Since 2015, it was decided under the leadership of PM Modi that Constitution Day should be celebrated in this country, and since then Constitution Day has been celebrated continuously,” Rijiju said.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said that the party urged to hold discussion on Adani indictment by the United States (US) Justice Department in a bribery case during the winter session of Parliament.

“Today, a meeting of all the joint parties was held. Congress, while putting forth its side, has requested and expressed the desire to discuss (the Adani indictment matter) first. The court in America has taken cognizance that a major industrial house Adani Group is controlling the industry and the government as well. A bribe worth Rs 2300 crores has been given. We have expressed our desire that this should be discussed first,” Tiwari told reporters after the meeting.

Tiwari, Congress MP in Rajya Sabha, said that they also raised the issue of ongoing tension in Manipur expressing concern over the same. “Chief Minister (Biren Singh) will not be removed and the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) will not visit. This is why Manipur’s condition is like this,” he added.

“We have also raised the issue of Manipur. We will not remove the Chief Minister and the PM will not visit. Due to this Manipur’s condition is like this. Rapes, murders are happening and there is no law and order in Manipur,” the Congress leader said.

Tiwari further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give a statement in the Parliament to clarify talks about disengagement on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

“There has been talk of disengagement on LAC, a statement should be given in Parliament on this. The issue of withdrawal of the forces should be taken up in the Parliament. Unemployment and pollution are also issues. All records have been broken. All these issues are related to the interests of the country. I am also worried that the pollution situation in Northern India is becoming more and more serious,” Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari said.

The all-party meeting was attended by all floor leaders of political parties in both the houses of the Parliament.

The all-party meeting in the national capital began at 11 am in the Main Committee Room, at Parliament House Annexe in the national capital. The meeting was presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Peace Restored: Sambhal SP On Stone Pelting Incident

Sambhal Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishan Kumar who on Sunday morning arrived to take stock of the incident of stone pelting at an ASI team surveying a Mugha-era mosque in Sambhal assured that the law and order situation has been brought under control and that peace was restored in the area.

The survey of the mosque was successfully completed despite the chaos, the official said asserting that stringent action will be taken against the accused after their identification.

The Superintendant of Police also said that some of the vehicles of sub-inspectors of police parked near the premises of Jama Masjid were set on fire and several properties in the area suffered damages during the stone pelting incident.

“As per the orders of the Court, the survey of Jama Masjid in Sambhal district was conducted. Some people gathered to protest against the survey and started pelting stones at the time when the survey was being conducted. Police have responded to this and some of the vehicles of sub-inspectors parked near the premises of Jama Masjid have been set on fire. The law and order is under control now. Peace and order prevails everywhere,”the police superintendent told ANI.

Further he added, “Duties are being imposed again and the survey has been completed successfully. Videography has been done with drones and with the help of CCTV cameras, all these people will be identified and action is taken against them.”

Meanwhile, Senior advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain spoke to ANI about the survey and said that in compliance with the Court’s order issued on November 19, the second-day survey was conducted on Sunday by the Advocate Commissioner.

He confirmed that all features were examined, and the videography and photography as directed by the Court were completed. Jain added that the survey has now concluded, and the report will be submitted to the court by November 29.

“In compliance with the order of the court passed on November 19, the second day’s survey was conducted by Advocate Commissioner today from 7:30 am to 10 am. During this survey, all features were studied. Videography and photography directed by the Court have been complied with and now this survey has been completed. State Minister Jaiveer Singh condemned the stone pelting in Sambhal today, terming it as “hooliganism” and “disrespect” of the court’s order.

“People of the particular religion are considering themselves above the Constitution, law and judiciary. The government under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath will make everyone abide by the law. Such hooliganism and disrespect of the court’s order is not going to work. No one should be allowed to do such kind of acts in the name of their religion,” said Singh.

Earlier in the day, DGP of Uttar Pradesh Prashant Kumar said that a survey was being conducted in Sambhal on the orders of the court.

This survey was part of a legal process following a petition filed by senior advocate Vishnu Shanker Jain, who claimed the mosque was originally a temple.

A similar survey was previously conducted on November 19, with local police and members of the mosque’s management committee present to oversee the process. (ANI)

The Most Confusing Election Ever In Maharashtra

‘This Was The Most Confusing Election Ever Witnessed By Maharashtra Voter’

Rahul Gaur, a casting director in Mumbai, says politicians in the state have been switching sides faster than a voter can keep track. His views:

As a voter in Maharashtra, I never felt as confused about an election as I did this time. The electoral contest was in a complete mess, with so many parties, factions, and alliances pulling in different directions. It’s hard to tell who stood for what and whom. The clear lines between ideologies that once helped us decide were replaced by alliances that felt more like deals of convenience than partnerships based on values or beliefs.

On one side, there was the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which includes the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s faction of Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s faction of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). On the other side was the Maha Yuti, led by the BJP and Eknath Shinde’s faction of Shiv Sena group and Ajit Pawar’s faction of NCP. Mind you, there are not just two Shiv Senas—one led by Uddhav Thackeray and the other by Eknath Shinde—but also two NCPs—one led by Sharad Pawar and the other by his nephew, Ajit. Pray what could get more confusing that mumbo jumbo?

I am sure other voters must have experienced the same confusion about who was following which ideology. Or did anyone even have an ideology anymore? Clearly, politicians are switching sides faster than we can keep track. Alliances are supposed to be about shared principles, but now they seem like power plays. The two factions of Shiv Sena both claim to represent Balasaheb Thackeray’s legacy, but their actions say otherwise. Similarly, the split in NCP left us wondering which side is sticking to the party’s original goals and which one is chasing political power. As a voter, this was frustrating.

Indian electorate wants to make informed decisions, but the choices in Maharashtra aren’t clear anymore. Instead of focusing on real issues like jobs, education, and healthcare, we’re caught in a maze of alliances and breakups. It feels like we were voting for a reality show like Bigg Boss instead of electing a government.

In the past, many of us supported parties because of their values or leaders. But things have changed. Voters today are more flexible—we look at performance, promises, and who we think will actually deliver. This is why governments in Maharashtra have changed so often. People aren’t tied to one party or ideology anymore, and they’re willing to hold politicians accountable.

But this time, the election felt different. With so many players in the game, it was hard to predict what would happen. The alliances were so tangled that it seems like everyone was connected to everyone else in some way. Even when the NDA has emerged the clear winner, you cannot say the political machinations and crossing over or horse trading will stop hereto.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to trust. Whom can we trust to work for the people and not just for power? It’s a tough decision, and the mess of alliances and factions didn’t help. For now, we can only hope that the new government will lead Maharashtra in the right direction. But honestly, it was never this hard to decide.
