The song has been choreographed by Ahmed Khan.

Last month, Salman shared an intriguing teaser for his high-octane film. The one-minute-and-21-second-long teaser introduced Salman’s character, named Sanjay, who is affectionately called Sikandar by his grandmother. Salman showcased his full, massy avatar in the teaser, packed with high-octane action sequences and punchy, ‘paisa-vasool’ dialogues. “Kayde mein raho, fayde mein rahoge” and “Insaaf nahi, hisab karne aaya hun” are some of the one-liners that Salman delivered with his trademark swag.

Meanwhile, the team has officially wrapped up the shooting for Sikandar. The final schedule took place in Mumbai, with Salman, Rashmika, director A.R. Murugadoss, and producer Sajid Nadiadwala in attendance. The film was shot over 90 days across multiple locations, including Mumbai and Hyderabad.

The film is directed by A.R. Murugadoss, renowned for his Tamil and Hindi blockbusters like Ghajini and Thuppakki. Sajid Nadiadwala has produced the project, marking Salman Khan’s reunion with him after their 2014 blockbuster, Kick.

The release of Sikandar on March 30, 2025, is indeed an auspicious occasion, as the nation will be celebrating festivals like Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, marking the beginning of a new year in Maharashtra and South India.

Backed by the visionary Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film is set to release on March 30, 2025. (ANI)

Security Heightened At Haryana – Punjab Shambhu Border Amid Farmers Protest

Security has been heightened at the Haryana – Punjab Shambhu Border as Haryana Police on Thursday morning removed concrete barricades erected at the border to restrict farmers’ movement further from where they were sitting on a protest over various demands.

The police officials used bulldozers to remove concrete barricades erected at the Haryana – Punjab Shambhu Border.

On Wednesday, Punjab police removed the farmers from the protesting site late in the evening. The farmers were sitting on a protest over various demands.

After the Punjab Police’s action on the protesting farmers, Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police Nanak Singh had stated that the entire road would be cleared and opened for traffic.

Speaking to ANI, SSP Singh highlighted that they did not use any force as protesting farmers cooperated with them.

“Farmers had been protesting at the Shambhu Border for a long time. Today, in the presence of Duty Magistrates, Police cleared the area after they were given proper warning. A few people showed a willingness to go home. So, they were sent home on a bus. In addition, the structures and vehicles here are being moved. The entire road will be cleared and opened for traffic,” he said.

“Haryana Police will also begin their action. Once it opens from their side, the movement on the highway will resume. We did not need to use any force because there was no resistance. Farmers cooperated well and they sat in buses by themselves,” the SSP said.

Police also removed temporary structures erected by farmers at the protest site.

Several farmer leaders including farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal who is on an indefinite fast and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarvan Singh Pandher were detained by the Police.

Reacting to it, farmer leader and national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), Rakesh Tikait condemned the Punjab government’s action.

“In the ongoing agitation on the border of Punjab, on one hand the government is negotiating with the farmer organizations and on the other hand it is arresting them. We strongly condemn the action of the Punjab government and all the farmer organizations are ready for every struggle,” Tikait posted on X.

Former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi claimed that farmers are being attacked as part of a conspiracy.

“Not just Punjab but the entire farming community is facing a big attack today. A meeting was held today (in Chandigarh) in which it was decided that the next round of talks would be held on May 4 but they (farmers) were attacked from behind and deceived. The road has been blocked by the government, not by the farmers. They (farmers) want to come to Delhi,” Channi said.

BJP leader Fatehjung Singh Bajwa emphasized that his party is standing with the farmers and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann “played with farmers”.

“The central government has sent its team of ministers to hold talks with the farmers but the businessmen of Ludhiana West said that they wouldn’t vote for them (AAP) as all the roads are closed. To ensure the Rajya Sabha seat for Arvind Kejriwal and win the Ludhiana West by-election, they have detained Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Sarvan Singh Pandher. BJP is with the farmers of Punjab but Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal played with farmers,” Bajwa told ANI.

Defending his government’s action, Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the action was taken as they want to open Shambhu and Khanauri borders.

Speaking to ANI, Cheema asserted that the farmers should stage a protest in Delhi or somewhere else as their demands are against the Central government.

“The AAP government and the people of Punjab stood with the farmers when they protested against the three black laws. The demands of the farmers are against the central government. It has been more than a year and the Shambhu and Khanauri borders are closed. The traders, youth of Punjab are very upset. When the traders will do business, the youth will get employment and they will stay away from drugs,” he said.

“Today’s action has been taken because we want the youth of Punjab to get employment. We want to open Shambhu and Khanauri borders. The demands of the farmers are against the central government and they should stage a protest in Delhi or somewhere else but should not block the roads of Punjab,” Harpal Cheema said. (ANI)

Siddaramaiah MUDA

Siddaramaiah’s Chopper Rides Cost Taxpayers Over ₹31 Cr

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s love for helicopter travel has raised eyebrows. His chopper bills revealed a staggering expense of Rs 12.65 crore in 2023-24 and Rs 19.35 crore in 2024-25, up to January 15, 2025.

What’s more surprising is that he opted for helicopter rides to nearby locations like Mysuru, which is only a 1.5-hour drive from Bengaluru.

As per documents tabled by the government in the house, Rs10.85 lakh was spent on a chopper ride to Mysuru, which takes 1.5 hours by road.

In a question asked by the JDS MLC TN Javarayigowda in the legislative council to provide details on the jets and flights booked by the CM, the CMO stated Siddaramaiah took chopper to even locations like Mysuru, which is barely 1.5 hr from Bengaluru.

The documents tabled by the government in the house show that Siddaramaiah booked charter flights to cities like Delhi and Chennai, which are well-connected by commercial airlines.

One such instance was a charter flight to Delhi, which cost Rs 44.40 lakh, whereas a business class ticket for a round trip would have cost approximately Rs 70,000.

BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar took a dig at CM Siddaramaiah and argued that the state’s priorities are misplaced, with allegedly ample funds allocated for the Chief Minister’s private jets and land acquisition, while development, farmer welfare, and infrastructure projects face funding shortages.

“Wah @siddaramaiahavare wah! @RahulGandhi ‘s “paradigm change” governance in full flow in Karnataka – No money for development, No money for farmers, No money for Infra but plenty of money for CMs pvt jets and plenty of land to be grabbed,” Chandrasekhar said in a post on X.

Earlier in the day, a delegation of Karnataka BJP met Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot at Raj Bhavan and handed over a memorandum against the state government’s Bills. (ANI)

Protesting Farmers Removed From Shambhu Border, Several Leaders Detained

Punjab Police on Wednesday removed farmers from the Punjab-Haryana Shambhu Border who were sitting on a protest over various demands.

Police also removed temporary structures erected by farmers at the protest site.

Several farmer leaders including farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal who is on an indefinite fast and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarvan Singh Pandher were detained by the Police.

Reacting to this, Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the action was taken as they want to open Shambhu and Khanauri borders.

Reacting to this, Congress MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said that the Centre and AAP government in Punjab want to isolate the farmers.

“The farmers are being constantly deceived. Farmers were told to end their hunger strike and then we will hold talks with them. The central government always tries to isolate farmers, especially of Punjab. After the meeting between farmers and the central delegation concluded, Punjab Police detained the farmer leaders. The central government and AAP government want to isolate the farmers of Punjab. This is very wrong,” Warring told ANI.

Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa slammed the Punjab CM.

“Bhagwant Mann sir! There is enmity between excess and God” and God is watching the excesses you are committing on the farmers, you have been blinded by the arrogance of power. Come to your senses, use this attitude not with the farmers but with the central government which is forcing them to endure all this on the roads,” Randhawa posted on X.

Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal claimed that Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has lost his mental balance.

“Jagjit Singh Dallewal who was on an indefinite hunger strike has also been detained by the police. During the elections, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann promised that he would fulfil all the demands of the farmers, but after the formation of the government, he is just lying to the farmers. No one is safe in Punjab,” Harsimrat said.

Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu also lashed out at Punjab CM and condemned the action by the police.

“I condemn this action of the Punjab government. They voted for you (AAP government) and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann should be ashamed. They (AAP government) did not want a solution to be found through talks between the central government and the farmers. You detained farmers just to win the Ludhiana West by-election. People of Punjab will not allow Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to enter any village,” Bittu said in a self-made video.

Earlier today, as part of the central government’s outreach to farmers, three Union Ministers and Punjab Cabinet Ministers met with the farmers in Chandigarh amid their protest over several demands.

The next meeting between the government and the farmers has been scheduled for May 4.

After meeting with farmers’ leaders, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized that the discussion was very positive.

“The meeting took place in a very positive atmosphere and the discussions were very positive. The next date for the meeting is May 4,” Chouhan said. (ANI)

‘Mahabodhi Shrine Must Be Freed From Brahmin Control And Handed Over To Buddhists’

Advocate Moti Ram Meghwal, a Dalit rights activist, illustrates the emotional and eternal value of the Buddhist shrine and the struggle for its liberation. His views:

The Mahabodhi Temple at Bodh Gaya stands as the holiest site for Buddhists worldwide. This sacred location marks the exact spot where Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment and became the Buddha over 2,500 years ago. It has been the epicentre of Buddhist devotion, pilgrimage, and monastic learning for centuries. Despite repeated destruction, appropriation, and neglect, Mahabodhi has survived, thanks to the unwavering faith and efforts of Buddhists from across the world.

Today, however, the temple remains under Brahmin control, and protests to return it to Buddhist hands are gaining momentum, demanding the revocation of the Bodh Gaya Temple Act of 1949, which unfairly grants Brahmins authority over a fundamentally Buddhist site.

Mahabodhi has been a purely Buddhist legacy. Historical and archaeological evidence overwhelmingly proves that the Mahabodhi complex has always been a Buddhist site, with no trace of Hindu ownership at any point in history.

The strongest evidence comes from the inscriptions and accounts of Emperor Asoka, who erected a temple at this site around 250 BCE. Asoka’s inscriptions, written in the Brahmi script, explicitly describe his patronage of Buddhism and his veneration of the Bodhi Tree, under which Buddha attained enlightenment. The remnants of Asoka’s diamond throne (Vajrasana)—the spot where Buddha sat in deep meditation—still exist, reaffirming the Buddhist origins of the site.

Chinese pilgrims like Fa Hian (5th century CE) and Hiuen Tsang (7th century CE) provided detailed accounts of Mahabodhi, describing its grandeur as a Buddhist vihara (monastery) surrounded by stupas, adorned with Buddhist relics, and maintained exclusively by Buddhist monks. No reference to Hindu worship or Brahminical rituals is found in these early records. The architectural features, inscriptions, and votive stupas discovered in excavations further prove that Mahabodhi was an uninterrupted center of Buddhist practice for centuries.

Historically, there have been multiple attempts to erase and appropriate Mahabodhi by vested interests. The first recorded attack on Mahabodhi came from Raja Shashanka in the 7th century CE, a Shaivite Brahminical king, who cut down the sacred Bodhi Tree in an attempt to eliminate Buddhism from the region. However, Buddhist rulers like Purna Varma restored the tree and protected it with walls. By the 11th and 12th centuries, the temple saw extensive repairs and restorations under the Buddhist rulers of Bengal and Burma, proving that it remained under Buddhist control during this period.

Unlike Nalanda, as suggested by historian DN Jha, there is no historical evidence that Mahabodhi was subjected to destruction. Jha argues that the decline of Buddhism in the region was not solely due to Turkic invasions but also to hostility from Brahmins, who viewed Buddhism as a threat to their dominance. After the fall of Nalanda, Buddhist presence in the region weakened significantly, paving the way for the gradual appropriation of Mahabodhi by local Hindu landlords.

Over time, these landlords falsely claimed ownership and introduced Brahminical elements into the site. As Buddhism declined in India, Mahabodhi was slowly assimilated into Hindu traditions, leading to the present-day struggle over its rightful ownership.

By the 19th century, Burmese Buddhists attempted to restore the temple, but by this time, local Brahmins had already occupied it, performing Hindu rituals and falsely claiming ownership. The British, instead of restoring the site to Buddhists, allowed the Brahmins to remain in control. This injustice led to the great Buddhist revival movements of Anagarika Dharmapala, who campaigned tirelessly to reclaim Mahabodhi for Buddhists, but without full success.

Our current struggle is to reclaim the Buddhist heritage. Despite being a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a beacon of Buddhist heritage, Mahabodhi remains under partial Brahmin control due to the Bodh Gaya Temple Act of 1949. This act, passed by the Bihar government, mandates that the temple’s management committee must always have a Hindu majority, even though the site is exclusively Buddhist.

This blatant legalized appropriation has sparked ongoing protests by Buddhists worldwide, demanding that the Indian government revoke the act and return the temple to Buddhist administration.

The Mahabodhi Temple is not just a monument; it is the spiritual heart of Buddhism. The evidence is irrefutable—this site was built by Buddhists, for Buddhists, and has been a sacred place of Buddhist pilgrimage for over two millennia. The continued Hindu occupation of the temple is a historical and ethical violation.

As Buddhist monks and activists continue to protest for their rightful claim, the world must recognize this grave injustice and support the movement to restore Mahabodhi to the Buddhist community. The Bodh Gaya Temple Act of 1949 must be repealed, and Mahabodhi must be governed by those to whom it truly belongs—the followers of the Buddha.

Anti-Corruption Bureau Books Jain For Role In CCTV Project

The anti-corruption branch (ACB) of the Delhi government on Wednesday registered a case against AAP leader m Aami Party (AAP) leader and former MLA Satyendar Jain levelling allegations of corruption and bribery in connection with the Rs 571 crore CCTV project for the national capital.

According to Madhur Verma, Joint Commissioner of Police (CP) and Head of ACB, the liquidated damages worth Rs 16 crore were allegedly arbitrarily waived by receiving a bribe of Rs 7 crore.

An FIR was registered against former Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Jain under section 17 A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, after receiving previous approval from the competent authority.

ACB said, “Bribery of Rs 7 crore was allegedly arranged to be paid to Satyendra Jain to waive off the Rs 16 crore penalty for delays in CCTV installation.”

Despite previous delays, Bharat Electronic Limited (BEL) received additional orders for another 1.4 lakh cameras under the project.

The bribe was allegedly paid through contractors who benefited from the additional orders.

According to officials, the project was allegedly carried out in a “shoddy manner”, with many cameras being dysfunctional even at the time of project handover. Moreover, payments were artificially inflated to accommodate the bribes involving different vendors.

ACB has already examined a BEL officer, who confirmed the allegations and provided a detailed complaint.

Documents from PWD and BEL are being scrutinized for further evidence.

Approval under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act was granted, allowing prosecution.

The FIR has been filed under Sections 7/13 (1)(a) of the POC Act and Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Over a month ago, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) requested the President’s approval to prosecute former Delhi Minister Satyendra Kumar Jain under Section 218 of Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, sources said.

According to sources, the request was made based on evidence gathered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The agency’s findings reportedly provide sufficient grounds for legal proceedings against Jain. (ANI)
