Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday received a rousing reception from citizens during his grand roadshow in Ahmedabad, as they enthusiastically celebrated the bravery, valour, and success of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a release from the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister for Jal Shakti, and BJP State President CR Patil, acknowledged the warm greetings extended by the public.

The vibrant atmosphere was enriched with evocative tableaux showcasing Indian military bravery and cultural heritage, along with patriotic songs, hoardings, and thematic lighting in the colours of the national flag. The Airport’s Iconic Road glittered with a dazzling tricolour illumination.

World Needs To Know How India Suffered Terror: Supriya Sule in Qatar

NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule, who is leading an all-party delegation in Doha, on Monday said that India’s global outreach program is centered on a peace mission and aims to inform the world about what the country has gone through in the past few weeks after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

“What India has been through in the last few weeks has been very unfortunate, and the world needs to know about it. Hence, this global outreach program,” Sule said while speaking to ANI.

She explained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the initiative, and seven groups were formed–each consisting of five Members of Parliament and experts from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)–to travel across different regions globally.

“This is an outreach program of peace, friendship, and what’s next for India and the globe. We are all very committed to a peaceful, harmonious and green world,” Sule said.

Highlighting the recent April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists, Sule said, “While India is very focused on this peace mission, we must put the facts on the table, which is that India has been very hurt by an unprecedented attack on India’s soul. This was the Pahalgam attack on April 22, which shook the entire country. Innocent Indians on vacation were shot most brutally in the terror attack.”

Adding further, she said, “We have enough evidence to prove that the entire module was being operated from our neighbourhood. The neighbourhood which we have nurtured, valued, respected, and always wanted good relations with, but unfortunately, these activities are connected to a group supported by the TRF, which is an outfit of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. There is enough evidence to show that Pakistan government has deep connections with all of them. What India has been through in the last few weeks has been very unfortunate, and the world needs to know about it. Hence, this global outreach program.”

“The MEA has done a wonderful job with this outreach program. We have had wonderful meetings, and they’ve committed that in the zero-tolerance against terrorism, Qatar is committed to India in this fight, so we are looking forward to taking this relationship of trust and faith,” Sule added.

Earlier in the day, Sule said that Qatar has assured their commitment against India’s zero tolerance approach against terrorism. The NCP MP stated that India and Qatar will oppose and not tolerate any terrorist attack on human lives. She further termed the visit as “successful” and said that the Qatar government was pretty “hospitable” towards the Indian delegation.

“Qatar government is committed to this long-term relationship that India and Qatar have had and they have promised us and reassured us that they are committed to zero tolerance against terrorism. In this entire journey, in all the meetings that we’ve had, the government has reassured us that they stand totally united and any terrorist attack anywhere in the world, Qatar and India stand united and we will oppose and we will not tolerate any terrorist attacks against any human lives, especially our innocent citizens”, Supriya Sule said.

“This trip has been extraordinarily successful and the Qatar government has been very hospitable towards us and in every discussion, they have reiterated the relationship of Qatar and India, the friendship, the trust, the bond, not just of the past, but for the next decades to come”, she added.

Earlier in the day, the all-party delegation led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule met Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar.

Sule conveyed India’s perspectives on the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Operation Sindoor and India’s consensus for zero-tolerance against terrorism.

In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Doha wrote, “Today morning the multi-party delegation met HE Dr. Mohamed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, MoS for Foreign Affairs and conveyed India’s perspectives on the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Operation Sindoor and India’s national consensus for zero-tolerance against terrorism.”

It added, “MoS Dr Al Khulaifi conveyed Qatar’s solidarity with India and policy of zero tolerance against terrorism for regional stability and prosperity.” (ANI)

India To Become Fourth-Largest Economy By 2025-26: NITI Aayog’s Virmani

NITI Aayog member Arvind Virmani on Monday expressed confidence that India will be the fourth-largest economy in the world by 2025-26, surpassing Japan, as forecasted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“Data will come in April (2026). Sometimes it comes a little earlier in February or March. But, we can only expect the international confirmation (in 2026),” Virmani told ANI.

“I am fairly confident that in 2025-26, our forecast will come right — my forecast and the IMF forecast (that India will become the fourth largest economy),” he added.

According to the IMF’s April edition of the World Economic Outlook, India’s nominal GDP for fiscal year 2026 is expected to reach around USD 4.187 trillion. This is marginally more than Japan’s likely GDP, which is estimated at USD 4.186 billion.

In September 2022, India had surpassed the UK to become the fifth-largest economy in the world.

India continues to be among the fastest-growing major economies and is expected to maintain this momentum over the coming years, according to multiple global agencies. Even as India is projected to overtake Japan in terms of the size of the economy, the per capita income in India still remains very low.

Overall, India has made quite a turnaround, climbing the ladder of economic growth. This can be gauged from the fact that from 11th in 2013-14, India has now positioned itself to become the fourth largest economy soon.

To realise the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ or a developed nation dream by 2047, India will need to achieve a growth rate of around 8 per cent at constant prices, on average, for about a decade or two, the Economic Survey document for 2024-25 tabled on January 31 asserted. (ANI)

Modi In Bhuj Urges Pakistanis To Fight Terrorism

In a message to people of Pakistan over their government’s support to cross-border terrorism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asked them what had they had gained with such an approach and said they will have to come forward to rid the country of “disease of terrorism”.

Addressing a gathering here, PM Modi said the government and military in Pakistan have made terrorism a business — a source of income at the cost of lives of people of the country and their future.

The Prime Minister urged people of Pakistan to recognize the reality of their situation. He cautioned that their government and military actively support terrorism, using it as a means to generate revenue.

He called upon the people of Pakistan to reflect on whether this path is truly in their best interests. He highlighted that power-driven agendas are putting Pakistani lives at risk and pushing their children’s future into darkness. The Prime Minister underscored that if Pakistan is to rid itself of the scourge of terrorism, its people must take a stand and contribute to its eradication.

PM Modi also contrasted Pakistan’s economy, which has been seeking IMF bailouts, with that of India which is on course to becoming the third largest economy in the world in the next few years.

“From the sacred land of Kutch, I also want to address the citizens of Pakistan: what have you really gained? Today, India stands as the fourth-largest economy in the world — and look at the condition you are living in. Ask yourselves — who destroyed your children’s future? It is terrorism,” he said.

PM Modi said Pakistan army runs its own agenda and children of Pakistan must know the truth.

He said it is up to the people of Pakistan to decide if the path chosen by their government “is the path you want for your future?

“Your army runs its own agenda. Your government and military have made terrorism a business — a source of income at the cost of your lives and your future. The children of Pakistan must know the truth — that their suffering is the result of a system that fuels terror instead of building a nation. Now, it is up to the people of Pakistan to decide: Is this the path you want for your future?” he asked.

Operation Sindoor was launched early on May 7 as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack by Pak-sponsored terrorists in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed. Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists.

India subsequently repelled aggression by Pakistan and pounded its airbases. India and Pakistan have agreed to stop military action following call made by Pakistan DGMO to his Indian counterpart.

“Pakistan made the mistake of attacking Kutch with drones, as Modi is from Gujarat. But they forgot — this is the land where, in 1971, our brave Nari Shakti built an airstrip in just 72 hours,” PM Modi said.

He said India targeted only the terrorist camps with precision under Opreration Sindoor but Pakistan resorted to aggression.

“Our retaliation was so strong that their airbases are still in ICU… It was the valour and bravery of our forces that Pakistan waved the white flag… We had already told them, our target was your terror infrastructure; all you had to do was stay quiet. Now that you made a mistake, you have to deal with the consequences,” he said. (ANI)

Dino Morea Questioned By Mumbai Police In Mithi River Desilting Case

Actor Dino Morea is being questioned by the EOW of Mumbai Police in connection with the Mithi river desilting case.

His name came up in the investigation for having connections with one of the arrested accused in the matter, according to Mumbai Police.

The Economic Offences (EOW) Wing of Mumbai Police had earlier this month arrested two alleged middlemen – Ketan Kadam and Jay Joshi – in connection with the Mithi river desilting case.

They were produced on the same day in the court and are now in judicial custody.

The two were among 13 people booked by EOW of Mumbai Police in connection with the alleged fraud.

Rivers pick up, carry and drop silt load as per their regime conditions, i.e. discharge in the river, river slope, morphology, nature of silt. Periodic surveys to assess the current capacity of water bodies are primarily undertaken by state governments. (ANI)
