India Hits Wider Targets In Op Sindoor: Expert On Pakistan Aggression

India was successful in striking a much wider range of targets and executing more successful missions than Pakistan in the aggression by Islamabad following Operation Sindoor, a London-based renowned security expert has said, noting that India’s response marked a shift in Indian government policy in terms of responding to terrorist attacks within India that it believes are linked to groups that operate in Pakistan.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Dr Walter Ladwig, Senior Lecturer, International Relations at King’s College London, a leading security expert said the Indian Air Force operated according to standard military procedures in the conflict and their ability to precisely strike a range of targets more or less precisely was quite impressive.

“I think India was successful in striking a much wider range of targets and executing more successful missions than the Pakistan side was which sort of explains why there’s so much more information, images and so forth in the open domain that would appear to corroborate the majority of the Indians claims versus Pakistanis,” he said.

He was asked about India presenting high-resolution evidence to support its assertions in this conflict, while Pakistan’s evidence appeared more limited and how he assesses this asymmetry in evidence presentation.

Asked about the current India-Pakistan crisis and what aspect stood out for him the most in the conflict, Dr Ladwig said that there’s a move by the Indian government to a policy stance of saying that a failure to prevent groups from having safe haven in Pakistan’s territory is enough to bring about a military response when it comes to terrorist activities.

“I think what stood out for me the most was first the shift in Indian government policy in terms of responding to terrorist attacks within India that it believes are linked to groups that operate in Pakistan. And whereas in the past we saw governments feel the need to sort of seek to assemble a dossier or provide evidence of linkages … Now, there’s a move to a policy stance of saying that a failure to prevent groups from having safe haven in your territory is enough to bring about a military response when it comes to terrorist activities,” he said.

“And then once the Indian Air Force operated according to standard military procedures and doctrines, the evidence that their ability to really precisely strike a range of targets more or less precisely, I think it was quite impressive,” he added.

Dr Walter Ladwig III is a Senior Lecturer, War Studies, at King’s College London. His research interests include Strategic studies, Military strategy, US foreign policy, defence politics, Indian defence policy, South Asian Security.

India launched precise strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan early on May 7 through Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed.India also effectively repelled the subsequent Pakistani aggression and pounded its airports.

The two countries have agreed to stop military action and firing following a call made by Pakistan’s DGMO to his Indian counterpart. (ANI)

India To Launch Global Campaign To Expose Pak’s Support For Terrorism

India is planning a large-scale diplomatic initiative aimed at exposing Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism on the global stage.

According to reliable sources, around 40 multi-party parliamentarians will form seven groups and travel to various regions of the world. The goal of this initiative is to inform the international community about Pakistan’s ongoing support to terrorism and highlighting India’s recently launched Operation Sindoor.

The tour is expected to span 10 days, commencing on May 23. The groups of parliamentarians are likely to visit several key world capitals, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and Japan.

This will be the first time that the Centre will depute MPs from multiple parties to present India’s stance on Kashmir and cross-border terrorism originating from Pakistan.

While the government has not officially announced the initiative, it is understood that the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and other agencies are currently preparing documents containing facts and instances to substantiate the allegations against Pakistan. An official from the MEA is expected to accompany the delegations.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju is leading the coordination efforts for this international tour, marking a significant step in India’s diplomatic outreach.

Several opposition MPs, including Manish Tewari, Shashi Tharoor, Priyanka Chaturvedi, and Sasmit Patra, have reportedly been approached to participate in the campaign.

JDU MP Sanjay Jha, former Minister of External Affairs Salman Khurshid, and BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi is also likely to participate.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. India’s precision strikes in Pakistan and PoJK on May 7 killed over 100 terrorists. (ANI)

The work he (Sharad Pawar) has done for the development of cricket as the President of BCCI, as the President of MCA, certainly has made a huge contribution to the stage on which we get to see cricket today and therefore, giving his name to the stand here is a very right decision that the MCA has taken. Jio Tops Data Internet, Call Setup Success Rate In TRAI Tests

Telecom regulator TRAI recently conducted independent drive tests across highways to assess the quality of service provided by cellular mobile telephone service providers for voice and data services.

The drive tests were conducted in March 2025.

In the voice services, the drive tests intended to assess call setup success rate, drop call rate (DCR), speech quality using MOS (mean opinion score), downlink and uplink packet (voice) drop rate, call silence rate, and coverage, according to data and report released by TRAI.

In the call setup success rate criteria, Jio and Vodafone were found to be efficient in most of those drive tests routes.

Jio stood out in the call setup time criteria in all drive test routes, meaning that the telecom operator connects voice calls in the shortest time.

In the call drop category, Airtel performed the best in the five out of seven routes. Airtel had the least call drop rates.

TRAI also analysed the call silence among the operators. Airtel was again the most efficient telecom operator.

Coming to data segment (download and upload), Jio was found to be the most high-speed data internet services provider. On the download side, Jio was the best service provider on all the routes. On the upload front, Jio was on top among these five routes, and Airtel in other two.

Notably, BSNL failed to outperform in any of the parameters vis-a-vis the rest of the telecom operators.

TRAI, through its appointed agency, conducted Independent Drive Tests (IDT) in Cities/ Highways/ Railway/ Coastal area of Nagpur city (Maharashtra LSA), Prayagraj city and railway route from Prayagraj to Kanpur (UP East LSA), Mumbai city and highway route from Mumbai to Pune Expressway, Railway route from Mumbai Central to Vasai Road and coastal area from the Gateway of India to Elephanta Caves (Mumbai and Maharashtra LSA), Ambala city (Haryana LSA), Chennai city and highway route from Chennai to Coimbatore and railway routes from Vijayawada to Chennai and Coimbatore to Chennai (Tamil Nadu LSA), Srinagar city (Jammu & Kashmir LSA) and Indore city (Madhya Pradesh LSA).

The performance of M/s Bharti Airtel Ltd., M/s BSNL/MTNL, M/s Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. and M/s Vodafone Idea Ltd., providing services in a Licensed Service Area (LSA) through various technologies (like 2G/ 3G/ 4G/ 5G) for voice and data, has been measured by conducting drive test.

The observations presented in drive test reports represent the performance of the service providers on the area/ route under test on the day/ time of conducting the drive test. (ANI)

‘Indians In Border Areas Are Prepared For Conflict But Pray For Peace’

Shubham Trikha, a national-level chess player and founder of Amritsar Chess Club, speaks about the resilience of people living in border areas, military conflicts, terror and peace. His views:

As someone living close to the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar, I can say the few days starting May 7 were nothing short of terrifying. For two to three days, the sound of bombings echoed across our skies. We could hear distant shelling, and the tension in the air was something you can’t describe unless you’ve lived through it. Families here were anxious people avoided stepping out unless absolutely necessary, schools were shut, and mobile networks were patchy. The fear of escalation loomed large.

Thankfully, the situation has calmed down now with a ceasefire in place. But even as peace returns on the surface, there’s an underlying awareness that anything can happen. The presence of the Indian Army and BSF (Border Security Force) is still strong here; they remain alert, and so do we. Life has resumed, but the sense of caution remains.

Now coming to the larger question: War or Peace? India’s decision to launch attacks on Pakistani terror bases, in my opinion, was justified. When terror repeatedly crosses our borders and claims innocent lives, a strong response becomes necessary. It was a message not just to Pakistan, but to those who think India won’t respond. Was it successful? Tactically, yes. Strategically, the message was delivered. But whether it stops terrorism permanently is a different matter.

Terrorism isn’t just a military issue. It’s rooted in ideology, funding, and political instability. So while surgical or air strikes may deter or disrupt, they won’t completely stop the “terror tap” unless Pakistan itself takes sincere steps to dismantle terror infrastructure on its soil.

What more can India do? India must continue to build strong global pressure on Pakistan diplomatically cutting off funding and support systems for these groups. Internally, we need better intelligence networks and border security technology. Education and counter-radicalization efforts also play a big role in the long run.

As for dialogue with Pakistan, yes, it’s important, but only when there’s trust and accountability. Dialogue without results only weakens our position and emboldens terror elements. There has to be concrete action on Pakistan’s part to prove they are serious about peace.

Being in this part of the country, you realize how fragile peace is. If it had turned into a full-blown war, the cost would’ve been immense not just in lives, but in livelihoods, in homes lost, in generations scarred. People here, especially children, still carry the psychological impact of what they heard and saw over those few days.

Peace is always the preferred path, but it must come with security, not at the cost of silence in the face of terrorism. We are prepared for anything but we always hope for peace.

Want To Meet Putin As Soon As We Can Set It Up: Trump

US President Donald Trump on Friday said he plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin “as soon as we can set it up,” suggesting that his personal involvement is essential to resolving the Russia-Ukraine war, CNN reported.

Speaking at the end of his West Asia tour, Trump underscored that current diplomatic efforts will likely stall unless he and Putin engage directly.

His remarks came just ahead of a scheduled meeting between Russian and Ukrainian officials in Turkey–the first in-person talks since the early stages of the conflict. Despite the significance of the event, the United States has downplayed the possibility of any real breakthrough, and Trump expressed similar doubts.

“Nothing” is going to happen on Ukraine until he and Putin meet, he said, positioning their meeting as a turning point in the stalled peace process, reported CNN.

“I think it’s time for us to just do it. I said, you know, they all said Putin was going and Zelenskyy was going. And I said, If I don’t go, I guarantee Putin is not going, and he didn’t go. I understand that – but we’re going to get it – we’re going to get it done. We’re going to get it done. 5,000 young people are being killed every single week on average, and we’re going to get it done,” Trump said, citing the human cost of the war.

When asked when the meeting could take place, Trump replied, “As soon as we can set it up. I was going to – I would actually leave here and go. I do want to see my beautiful grandson, and we’ll be doing that.” His daughter Tiffany Trump gave birth on Thursday, marking his 11th grandchild, CNN reported.

Trump also weighed in on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s absence from Thursday’s talks. “He didn’t show up because he heard Putin wasn’t going,” he said.

Trump added, “He wasn’t going if I wasn’t there and I don’t believe anything’s going to happen, whether you like it or not, until he and I get together.” (ANI)

Omar Abdullah India Pakistan

Omar Abdullah & Mehbooba Engage In War Of Words

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and People Democratic Party (PDP) engage in a war of words on X, on Friday. After Mufti questioned the CM’s stand on the Indus Treaty, Abdullah lashed out at her and accused her of trying to “please some people sitting across the border”.

He maintained his stand against the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), saying that it had been the “biggest historical betrayal” to the interests of people in Jammu and Kashmir. Abdullah argued that opposition to the “unfair treaty” does not characterise as “warmongering”, but rather about making corrections.

“Actually what is unfortunate is that with your blind lust to try to score cheap publicity points and please some people sitting across the border, you refuse to acknowledge that the IWT has been one of the biggest historic betrayals of the interests of the people of J&K. I have always opposed this treaty and I will continue to do so. Opposing a blatantly unfair treaty is in no way, shape, size or form warmongering, it’s about correcting a historic injustice that denied the people of J&K the right to use our water for ourselves,” Abdullah replied to Mufti on X.

Earlier, Mufti launched a scathing attack against Omar Abdullah over a call for the revival of the Tulbul Navigation project, labelling the demand as “irresponsible and dangerously provocative”.

She said that such statements were “dangerously provocative” given that both countries have moved away from the brink of a “full-fledged war”, with people of Jammu and Kashmir bearing the brunt of destruction.

“J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s call to revive the Tulbul Navigation Project amid ongoing tensions between India & Pakistan is deeply unfortunate. At a time when both countries have just stepped back from the brink of a full-fledged war – with Jammu and Kashmir bearing the brunt through the loss of innocent lives, widespread destruction and immense suffering such statements are not only irresponsible but also dangerously provocative,” Mehbooba, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, posted on X.

She said that people in J&K deserve peace and “weaponising” water, which is essential and life-giving, was “inhumane” and internationalises a bilateral issue.

“Our people deserve peace as much as anyone else in the country. Weaponising something as essential and life-giving as water is not only inhumane but also risks internationalising what should remain a bilateral matter,” Mehbooba added.

Abdullah had advocated for the revival of the Tulbul Navigation project, given that the IWT has been suspended following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. (ANI)

Op Sindoor Is Not Over.. Was Just A Trailer: Rajnath

Highlighting Indian Air Force’s (IAF) bravery during the Operation Sindoor, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday asserted that the operation is not over yet and whatever happened was just a “trailer”.

Addressing Air Warriors at Bhuj Air Force Station, Singh said, “We have kept Pakistan on probation. If its behavior improves, then okay, otherwise, it will be given strictest punishment. Operation Sindoor is not over yet. Whatever happened was just a trailer. When the right time comes, we will show the full picture to the world.”

The Defence Minister paid homage to those who lost lives during Operation sindoor and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured ones.

“Bhuj was witness to our victory against Pakistan in 1965 and 1971. and today again it has been witness to our victory against Pakistan. I feel proud to be present here,” Singh said.

Praising IAF for their execution during Operation Sindoor he said, “Whatever you did during Operation Sindoor, has made all Indians proud – whether they are in India or abroad. Just 23 minutes were enough for the Indian Air Force to crush terrorism being nurtured in Pakistan.”

“Only yesterday, I met our brave Army personnel in Srinagar. Today, I am meeting the air warriors here. Yesterday, I met our jawans in the northern region, and today I am here in the western part of the country meeting the air warriors and other security personnel. I feel the enthusiasm on seeing the high josh and energy on both fronts. I am assured that you secure India’s borders,” he added.

“Even Pakistan has accepted the power of BrahMos missile. There is an old saying in our country, “Din mein taare dekhna.” Made in India BrahMos missile showed ‘raat ke andhere mein din ka ujala’ to Pakistan,” Singh further said.

“It would not be incorrect for me to say that the duration people take to have breakfast, you used that duration to deal with enemies. You dropped missiles by going to the land of enemies. Its echo did not remain restricted just to the borders of India, the entire world heard it. That echo wasn’t just of missiles but also of your valour and the bravery of jawans of the Indian Armed Forces,” the Defence Minister added.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, in response to the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. (ANI)
