IndiGo Makes Emergency Landing At Nagpur Airport After Bomb Threat

An IndiGo flight 6E 2706, which was travelling from Muscat to Delhi with a layover at Kochi, made an emergency landing at Nagpur airport on Tuesday after a bomb threat was received.

According to Lohit Matani, DCP Nagpur, all passengers have been safely deboarded, and an investigation is currently underway. Preliminary checks have not found anything suspicious so far, officials said.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.

Similarly, on Monday, officials informed that Lufthansa flight LH752, which was flying from Frankfurt to Hyderabad, was forced to return to Germany after a bomb threat was received. A committee has been formed to assess the threat as per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

According to official sources, the Hyderabad-bound Lufthansa flight took off from Frankfurt on June 15 and was supposed to reach its destination early this morning. However, after an email was received at Hyderabad airport about targeting the flight with a bomb at 6:01 PM on June 15, out of an abundance of caution, the flight was advised to return.

“A bomb threat assessment committee was formed, and all procedures were followed as per SOP. In the interest of safety, the airline was advised to divert back to the origin or the nearest suitable airport,” said an official source.

Earlier, Lufthansa airline told ANI, “We did not receive a permit to land in Hyderabad, and that’s why the aircraft took a U-turn and returned.”

Meanwhile, a Lufthansa spokesperson said that the flight was diverted out of an abundance of caution, and that the passengers were provided accommodation as they departed for Hyderabad.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Lufthansa flight LH752 from Frankfurt to Hyderabad returned to its point of departure after authorities were made aware of a bomb threat posted on social media,” the spokesperson said, adding further, “The safety of our passengers and crew is Lufthansa’s highest priority. Affected passengers were provided with accommodation in Frankfurt and will be continuing their journey to Hyderabad today.”

The Hyderabad airport said earlier that the flight was diverted as it had still not entered Indian airspace, as the threat was received.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.

In a similar incident on June 13, a Delhi-bound Air India flight coming from Thailand’s Phuket received a bomb threat and made an emergency landing on the island, according to airport authorities. The Air India flight AI 379 took off from Phuket at 9.30 and was on its way to New Delhi before it was diverted. (ANI)

Overseas Pakistanis In US Protest Against COAS Asim Munir

Overseas Pakistanis protested against Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir during his visit to the US. People shouted slogans “Pakistanio ke Qatil” and “Islamabad ke Qatil” while Munir was being welcomed at an event in the US.

Videos of the protest against Munir have surfaced on social media. Nazia Imtiaz Hussain, a X user who identifies herself as Executive Director of The Alliance Organisation, said that they are protesting against “criminal dictator of Pakistan” and criticised those who “showed up in support of fascism.”

While sharing the video on X, Hussain wrote, “We’re here to protest the criminal dictator of Pakistan. Shame on every bootlicker who showed up in support of fascism–you didn’t just betray democracy, you spit on the suffering of millions.”

PTI USA also re-shared the videos where the people were holding a protest against General Munir. Pakistani-Americans held a protest against Munir outside the Four Seasons Hotel.

While sharing the video of the protest on X, PTI stated, “Pakistani-Americans in Washington, DC are protesting outside the Four Seasons hotel, reminding General Asim Munir of the crimes he’s committed against the people of Pakistan.”

The video showed a screen which had Asim Munir’s photo along with the message which read, “Mass Murderer Asim Munir”, “Democracy dies when guns speak”, and Asim Munir, your time is up. Pakistan will rise.”

Earlier in May, the Pakistani federal cabinet approved the promotion of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir to Field Marshal despite military and strategic failures during the conflict with India. The Pakistan government cited his leadership during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and the confrontation with India, labelled Marka-i-Haq, as grounds for the honour, Dawn reported.

Despite the military setbacks, Pakistan’s government projected the outcome as a “historic victory,” praising General Munir’s leadership during the conflict. General Asim Munir became only the second army officer in Pakistan’s history to be elevated to Field Marshal.

Ayub Khan, Pakistan’s president from 1958 to 1969, holds the distinction of being the country’s first Field Marshal. Notably, his promotion to this highest military rank was self-appointed, following his coup and assumption of the presidency in 1958. (ANI)

Israel: Iran’s Senior-Most Military Official Ali Shadmani Killed

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Tuesday claimed that it has killed Iran’s senior-most military official and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s closest military advisor, Ali Shadmani, in an air force strike in Tehran.

In a post on X, IDF stated, “For the second time in 5 days, the IDF has eliminated Iran’s War-Time Chief of Staff, the regime’s top military commander. Ali Shadmani, Iran’s senior-most military official and Khamenei’s closest military advisor, was killed in an IAF strike in central Tehran, following precise intelligence.”

The IDF has said that Israel’s war against Iranian proxies continues on all fronts. According to the IDF, Israeli troops carried out a targeted operation to locate and map out large-scale underground Hamas infrastructure in Khan Yunis.

“Our war against Iranian proxies is on all fronts: Over the past two weeks, our troops conducted a targeted operation to locate and map out large-scale underground Hamas infrastructure in the area of the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, where the body of Mohammed Sinwar was found. We sealed the tunnel by pouring approximately 250 cubic meters of concrete into it. The operation in the area was carried out with precision and care to avoid damaging the hospital building,” the IDF posted on X.

The conflict between Israel and Iran entered the fifth day on Tuesday, with both sides trading missile strikes. Civilians in key areas face waves of attacks. At least 224 people have been killed in Iran since the hostilities started, while 24 people have been killed in Israel, CNN reported.

While speaking to ABC News on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that targeting Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would not escalate but end the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, which started last week.

When asked about reports that US President Donald Trump rejected an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader, concerned that it would escalate the conflict, Netanyahu responded, “It’s not going to escalate the conflict, it’s going to end the conflict.”

He said, “We’ve had half a century of conflict spread by this regime that terrorises everyone in the Middle East; has bombed the Aramco oil fields in Saudi Arabia; is spreading terrorism and subversion and sabotage everywhere.”

Netanyahu accused Iran of intending to have a forever war and blamed it for bringing Israel to the “brink of nuclear war.”

Netanyahu stated, “The ‘forever war’ is what Iran wants, and they’re bringing us to the brink of nuclear war. In fact, what Israel is doing is preventing this, bringing an end to this aggression, and we can only do so by standing up to the forces of evil.”

When asked whether Israel would target Iran’s Supreme Leader, he said that Israel was “doing what we need to do.”

Refusing to share details regarding Israel’s plan, he said, “I’m not going to get into the details, but we’ve targeted their top nuclear scientists.” Speaking to ABC News, he said, “It’s basically Hitler’s nuclear team.”

Last week, Israel launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear sites, in a military operation named “Operation Rising Lion,” in response to which Iran fired ballistic missiles at Israeli cities. (ANI)

‘Everyone Should Immediately Evacuate Tehran!’: Trump Slams Iran For Ignoring Nuclear Deal

Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, US President Donald Trump on Monday (local time) urged civilians to “immediately evacuate Tehran,” shortly after which the White House announced he would be departing the G7 summit early to “attend to many important matters.”

In a series of posts on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump strongly reiterated his long-held stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, warning of serious consequences.

“Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again!” Trump wrote, urging immediate action as tensions rise. “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” he added.

In a follow-up post, Trump tied his firm stance on Iran’s nuclear program to his broader political message, stating, “AMERICA FIRST means many GREAT things, including the fact that, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

Israel has been conducting strikes in Tehran since Thursday night, but the US has so far declined to join the operation. Shortly after Trump’s post, Iranian media reported explosions and heavy air defense fire in Tehran. It’s unclear if there was any relation between Trump’s post and that attack.

Tehran is home to around 10 million people, with around 17 million in the metropolitan area. Trump’s evacuation warning came around 2am local time.

The Israeli military has said it has complete control of the skies over Tehran. It signaled Monday that it’s expanding its targets beyond strictly military or nuclear sites, including by bombing Iranian state TV.

Israel issued several evacuation orders for civilians in Tehran, in areas where hundreds of thousands of people live. One of those evacuation orders focused on the neighborhood where Iran’s state TV is located.

It’s not clear how many civilians have managed to evacuate, or whether such a mass exodus is even possible on such a short timetable.

Less than two hours before his Truth Social post, Trump said at the G7 summit in Canada that the U.S. was talking to the Iranians by phone and even suggested it will be “better to talk in person.”

Trump expressed hope that Iran would make a deal. “I think a deal will be signed. I think Iran is foolish not to sign one,” he said.

Iran has called on the United States to intervene and help bring an end to the aerial attacks, which have escalated over the past few days.

Earlier in the day, Trump said a diplomatic deal with Iran to end the conflict could happen soon after he leaves the G7 summit. “I think Iran is basically at the negotiating table and wants to make a deal. As soon as I leave here, we’re going to be doing something,” he said at the summit. (ANI)

Air India Mumbai-Ahmedabad Flight Cancelled After Crew Duty Time Expired Amid Delay

Air India’s flight AI2493 from Mumbai to Ahmedabad was cancelled on Monday after facing delays caused by operational issues, eventually leading to the expiry of the crew’s duty time, according to sources.

The flight, which was supposed to be operated by an Airbus A321-211 aircraft (VT-PPL), was first delayed due to an unspecified operational issue.

During this delay, the assigned crew reached the limit of their Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), a rule that restricts the number of hours airline crew members can work for safety reasons.

Meanwhile, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Ranchi was diverted back to the national capital shortly after taking off on Monday due to a suspected technical issue.

The Boeing 737 Max 8 plane was scheduled to land at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport at 6:20 PM.

After the inspection and clearance, the aircraft continued its normal operations, according to an Air India spokesperson.

“One of our flights returned to Delhi after takeoff due to a suspected technical issue. Post inspections and clearance, the aircraft continued scheduled operations. We regret the inconvenience,” Athe ir India Express Spokesperson said.

Earlier in the day, an Air India flight, which was supposed to land in Delhi, was diverted back to Hong Kong after the pilot suspected a technical issue mid-air, according to sources.

The AI 315 flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, had departed from Hong Kong to Delhi. According to the flight tracking site, Flight Radar 24, the Air India flight was supposed to reach Delhi by 12.20 PM.

Sources said that the passengers deboarded safely and the plane is undergoing a safety check. (ANI)

‘Great Reset Moment For India And Canada’: Indian diaspora Applauds PM Modi’s Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Canada has been welcomed as a significant turning point in India-Canada relations, with members of the Indian diaspora calling it a “great reset moment” for trade, national security, and people-to-people ties.

Ritesh Malik, Chair of the Canada India Foundation, said, “This is very, very significant, particularly considering what was happening between the two countries last 1.5 to 2 years. I think it’s a great reset moment for Canada and India. With Prime Minister Trudeau, we never thought a relationship is going to be normal, back to normal again. We thought it’s in deep freeze for long, but with new leadership in Canada now, I think Prime Minister Mark Carney did the right thing by inviting one of the most respected and loved leaders all over the world.”

He added, “India has shown tremendous geopolitical significance and respect all over the world. So his coming and accepting the invite of Mark Carney, I think it’s a great step from both the countries–Mark Carney by inviting Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Modi by accepting the invite.”

Commenting on the state of bilateral trade, Malik said, “To be very honest with you, currently we feel that India-Canada bilateral trade is grossly underperforming. I mean, like when in 2015 Prime Minister Modi came to Canada, he made a very simple but very profound statement in his speech. He said, ‘India has market. Canada has supply.’ That sums up everything of bilateral potential between the two countries.”

He added, “Canada is one of the richest countries when it comes to resources, minerals, and whatnot. India needs that with the growing population. So I think this is a great relationship. Both are democracies, you know, both are great countries. If positioned right and worked right, there is enormous, unlimited, untapped potential of trade between Canada and India.”

Malik also emphasized that trust is the foundation for progress. “Just like any other business relationship, the first and foremost requirement is mutual respect, trust, and relationship. So we need to work on that. As long as both countries are willing to work together–with a lot of trust between each other, trust like friends, trust like partners–I think both countries have tremendous potential together, and it will benefit people on both sides.”

He added, “We in Canada, we are a small country with only 40 million people. India–1.4 billion people, one of the biggest economies, fastest-growing economies in the world. I think it will only benefit us. It is in the larger interest of Canada to have a great working relationship with India.”

Identifying key sectors for future cooperation, Malik stated, “Natural gas, agriculture–you know, India with major thrust on Make in India, Canada, after whatever is happening with the US tariffs and whatnot, is looking for alternate markets. I mean, there is no better market than India. So there are many sectors which have untapped potential between Canada and India.”

On the issue of foreign interference, Malik remarked, “Foreign interference by certain fringe elements in Canada is being weaponized against the Indo-Canadian community. Like even during these current past elections, a lot of good candidates were shot down by both parties just because, you know, they speak for India.”

He added, “There is foreign interference of India in Canada, but that is in the form of yoga, Ayurveda, all the good things Indians and India bring to Canada… That is what makes Canada rich. That is what makes Canada diverse. That is what makes it a multicultural country where, you know, everybody aspires to.”

Calling for seriousness on both sides, he said, “This foreign interference is being grossly misused and weaponized by certain elements against people who wish well for Canada, who wish well for India. They want both countries to work together, realise the true potential. That is the only interference they want.”

On national security concerns, Malik stated, “There are certain ideologies which have been promoted, which have been encouraged, which have also got patronage from certain political parties in Canada, which has hurt the relationship. It is in the larger interest of the world today to work against extremism, terrorism.”

He added, “It’s not related to any specific country as such. Humanity bears the consequences of, you know, all these acts. So I think it is in the larger interest of every country, and every country should work collectively.”

He further stated, “Terrorism has no boundaries. I mean, ideology has no boundaries… You can stop people from coming into a country or have borders in place, but ideology travels on social media these days. So that is a very critical issue which needs to be addressed by everybody.”

Malik also called for global action. “G7 is a great opportunity for all world leaders… They should take this seriously and not see that as an isolated problem of a particular country like India or some other country. I mean this is affecting all of us.”

Raman Khatra, a businessman based in Canada since 1998, also welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit, highlighting trade and people-to-people ties.

“I think between India and Canada through this experience, I am looking at a huge opportunity–one, trade, and the other I think not only trade but people’s tourism and many other things that can go into India–like agricultural projects, pulses, metals, oil and some of our companies that want to invest in India, not nano-technology,” said Khatra.

He added, “So, if both our leadership rates are positive, then there is a huge opportunity. Something will happen.”

On the improving relationship, he said, “I think there is economic uncertainty all over the world and where many immigrants like us come from India, there is a need for workers in house construction in Canada as well. We think we will benefit from both sides if both countries strengthen the economic tie among themselves. And if you have room to double or triple the trade, it will be good.”

His remarks come as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Canada ahead of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis on June 16-17. This marks Modi’s sixth consecutive appearance at the summit, underscoring India’s growing global influence and lending further momentum to the renewed focus on India-Canada relations.

The G7 Summit is an international forum held annually for the leaders of the G7 member states of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Canada and the European Union (EU). (ANI)

Trump To Exit G7 Summit Early Citing Middle East Tensions, Confirms White House

President Donald Trump is expected to depart the G7 Summit early and return to Washington tonight, CNN reported.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted on social media about the president’s plan to cut short his attendance at the summit in Kananaskis, Canada.

“President Trump had a great day at the G7, even signing a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State,” Leavitt wrote on X.

Trump had been scheduled to depart Canada on Tuesday after a news conference. Soon before the White House announced his early departure, Trump posted on Truth Social that “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” as the conflict between Iran and Israel escalates.

Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, US President Donald Trump on Monday (local time) urged civilians to “immediately evacuate Tehran,” shortly after which the White House announced he would be departing the G7 summit early to “attend to many important matters.”

“I think Iran is basically at the negotiating table and wants to make a deal. As soon as I leave here, we’re going to be doing something,” he said at the summit.

The summit had already generated a degree of division in the few hours Trump attended. He signaled his intention to not sign a joint statement drafted by G7 leaders calling for de-escalation between Israel and Iran, according to a person familiar with the matter, though officials preparing the document held out hope that he could eventually be convinced to add his name, reported CNN.

The G7 summit in the Canadian Rockies has been marked by a significant divide between US President Donald Trump and his counterparts over a joint statement on the Middle East. Trump has declined to sign the statement, which affirms Israel’s right to defend itself and opposes Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Trump believes Iran wants to de-escalate the conflict and is open to talks. He issued a two-month ultimatum to Iran this spring, and on the 61st day, Israel launched strikes on Iran’s nuclear program and military leaders, reported CNN.

European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, had been working to finalize a consensus on the Middle East situation. However, Trump’s veto would prevent a show of unity among the G7 leaders. (ANI)
