Israeli Military Warns Iranians To Evacuate Homes

The Israel Defence Forces’ Farsi language social media account tweeted its first message to Iranians, warning them to evacuate their homes on Sunday morning.

The Press Service of Israel has learned that the measure is intended to increase pressure on Tehran in addition to avoiding collateral damage to civilians.

“Defence Minister Yisrael Katz’s directive to evacuate residents in Tehran is part of a pre-approved plan to exert pressure on the regime by evacuating the population – in response to the shooting on the Israeli home front,” a security source told TPS-IL.

The IDF’s Farsi account instructed Iranians, “All persons who are currently or in the near future present in or around military weapons production factories and their support institutions should immediately leave these areas and not return until further notice.”

The tweet added, “Your presence next to this infrastructure puts your life at risk.”

Katz said in a statement, “The IDF will attack the sites and continue to peel the skin of the Iranian snake in Tehran and everywhere else from nuclear capabilities and weapons systems. The Iranian dictator is turning Tehran into Beirut and the residents of Tehran into hostages for the survival of his regime.”

Israel launched preemptive strikes against Iranian nuclear sites on Friday, citing intelligence that Tehran had reached “a point of no return” in its pursuit of nuclear weapons. According to Israeli defence officials, Iran has developed the capacity to rapidly enrich uranium and assemble nuclear bombs, with sufficient fissile material for up to 15 weapons.

Israeli intelligence also exposed a covert program to complete all components of a nuclear device. The strikes mark a dramatic escalation in what officials describe as a broader Iranian strategy combining nuclear development, missile proliferation, and proxy warfare aimed at Israel’s destruction. AI-171 Crash: Single-Window System For Issuing Death Certificates

Gujarat State administration had arranged for the death certificates of those who died in the recent Air India plane crash to be issued directly at the hospital, sparing grieving families the need to visit multiple offices, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Banchha Nidhi Pani said on Sunday.

Further, Pani said, that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, which is probing the crash of the AI-171 flight bound for London that crashed in a residential area in Meghaninagar including the BJ Medical college complex, on June 12 shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad international airport, has successfully retrieved the aircraft’s black box.

“….the black box had to be recovered. The black box is either in the front or in the back. Fortunately, in this case, the tail end (of the plane) was not destroyed, and it was stuck in the first building. The AAIB team requested that cranes, labourers, and engineers be provided to recover the black box. After this, the Black box was recovered…” the Ahmedabad Municipal commissioner said.

“After that, we ensured that people should not go to offices for death certificates. A single-window system was created, and the death certificates were issued then and there,” he said.

On Thursday, the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff. There were 242 people on board, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members.

Of the passengers, 241 died in the crash. The lone survivor, identified as Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a British national of Indian origin, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment.

“101 fire vehicles were there, more than 100 ambulances, including 35 ambulances from private trusts. Around 46 different earthmover equipment, including JCB, excavators, and Cranes, were there. The entire operation was carried out in a swift, coordinated and quick manner. We found that the wing of the aircraft was obstructing the movement of ambulances in the internal area…We took a decision to remove this obstruction. For a green corridor for the ambulances, this wing had to be removed… The operation had to be continued in the evening, so the light arrangement had to be done. There were more than 100 LEDs, flood lights, with 5 DG sets, so that there should not be any problem as far as lighting arrangement is concerned…” the Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner said.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) on Friday confirmed the recovery of the Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR), commonly referred to as the black box, from the rooftop of a building at the site of the Air India Flight AI-171 crash in Ahmedabad.

The AACB has launched a full-scale investigation into the crash, with over 40 staff from the Gujarat State Government joining efforts to support the Ministry of Civil Aviation teams on the ground.

The black box, a critical piece of evidence, will be analysed to determine the cause of the tragic crash that claimed the lives of 241 people onboard, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The investigation is underway, and the recovered DFDR is expected to provide vital insights into the events leading up to the disaster.

Meanwhile, Air India said on Saturday that it will provide an interim payment of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of the deceased and to the survivor of the plane crash in Ahmedabad to help address immediate financial needs in addition to the Rs one crore support already announced by Tata Sons.

Air India said it stands in solidarity with the families of the passengers who tragically lost their lives in the recent accident. (ANI)

Trump Says Putin Wished Him Happy Birthday, Both Agree To End Israel-Iran War

US President Donald Trump on Saturday (local time) revealed that he received a call from Russian President Vladimir Putin on his 79th birthday and and talked about the war between Israel and Iran, which both leaders agreed “should end.”

The conversation occurred before Trump is set to mark hi 79th birthday in the evening by attending a military parade on the streets of Washington DC to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US Army.

Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, “President Putin called this morning to very nicely wish me a Happy Birthday, but to more importantly, talk about Iran, a country he knows very well.”

The phone call, which lasted around an hour, primarily focused on the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Trump mentioned that Putin is well-versed in Iranian affairs and shared his concerns about the conflict.

“The call lasted approximately 1 hour. He feels, as do I, this war in Israel-Iran should end, to which I explained, his war should also end,” said Trump.

Trump emphasised that the situation in the region is “very alarming” and urged Putin to end Russia’s involvement in the Ukraine.

Trump said he and Putin spent “much less time” talking about Russia’s war in Ukraine during the approximately one-hour call. He said that topic “will be for next week.”

The leaders also touched on a potential prisoner swap, with large numbers of prisoners being exchanged immediately from both sides.

“We talked at length. Much less time was spent talking about Russia/Ukraine, but that will be for next week. He is doing the planned prisoner swaps – large numbers of prisoners are being exchanged, immediately, from both sides,” added Trump.

Although the majority of the conversation centered around the Middle East, Trump did bring up the Ukraine conflict, stating that they would discuss it further the following week. Putin reportedly briefed Trump on his recent talks with Iranian and Israeli leaders, reiterating Russia’s proposal for mutually acceptable solutions on the Iranian nuclear issue.

The conversation marks the fifth call between the two leaders since Trump took office and signalled a shift in US policy toward Russia, a significant departure from the stance held by his predecessor, Joe Biden.

While Biden rallied international support to condemn Russia’s 2022 invasion, Trump has cultivated a friendly relationship with Vladimir Putin, often praising the Russian leader’s strategic thinking.

Trump’s stance has raised eyebrows, particularly his tendency to blame both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the ongoing war.

Trump has criticised Zelenskyy’s handling of the conflict, even labeling him a “dictator” due to postponed elections in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed the call between Trump and Putin. He said, “Vladimir Putin condemned Israel’s military operation against Iran and expressed serious concern about a possible escalation of the conflict, which would have unpredictable consequences for the entire situation in the Middle East.”

According to Ushakov, Trump described events in the Middle East as “very alarming.” The two leaders also said they do not rule out a return to the negotiating track on Iran’s nuclear program, Ushakov said.

On Friday, June 13 Israel launched a large-scale strike on Iranian territory, targeting nuclear sites, Iran launched three retaliatory waves of missiles at targets in Israel.

Projectiles were seen in the skies above Jerusalem late Saturday as Iran and Israel launched another round of missiles at each other, according to CNN.

Israel has launched a wave of strikes targeting different areas of Iran, according to the Israeli military and Iranian media.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson Effie Defrin said that the Israeli Air Force’s (IAF) “ongoing operation” has lasted nearly 40 hours and targeted over 150 objectives.

“IAF aircraft are completing a wave of strikes against military and strategic assets, nuclear program sites, and high-ranking figures in Iran’s terror leadership. These are significant targets at the very heart of Iran and its terrorist proxies,” Defrin said.

The IDF confirmed that they are currently striking military targets in Tehran.

Air defenses were activated in several Iranian cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, and Mashhad, Iran’s state-owned Press TV reported.

Iranian state media also posted videos purportedly of air defenses intercepting projectiles in Zanjan and Khorramabad.

Iran has launched a new barrage of projectiles towards Israel, state media outlet IRNA reported late Saturday.

The Iranian outlet said that this latest volley includes both missiles and drones. (ANI)

Gaza on the lips of campus protestors

India Abstains From UN Vote On Gaza; Priyanka Calls It ‘Shameful’

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi on Saturday criticised the Union government for abstaining from the United Nations motion for the protection of civilians and upholding legal and humanitarian obligations in Gaza, calling the move “shameful”.

Gandhi, in a post on X, said that there is no justification for this move, adding that the true global leadership demands the courage to defend justice.

The Wayanad MP said that India is not only standing silently as Benjamin Netanyahu “annihilates” an entire nation, but it is also “cheering” on as his government attacks Iran and assassinates its leadership in “flagrant” violation of its sovereignty and complete contravention of all international norms.

“It is shameful and disappointing that our government has chosen to abstain on the UN motion for the protection of civilians and upholding legal and humanitarian obligations in Gaza,” the Congress leader said on X.

Stressing the deaths of women and children in Gaza, she said, “60,000 people, mostly women and children, have been killed already; an entire population is being confined and starved to death, and we are refusing to take a stand.”

“This is a tragic reversal of our anti-colonial legacy. In fact, not only are we standing silent as Mr Netanyahu annihilates an entire nation, but we are also cheering on as his government attacks Iran and assassinates its leadership in flagrant violation of its sovereignty and complete contravention of all international norms,” the Congress Lok Sabha MP added.

“How can we, as a nation, just abandon the principles of our constitution and the values of our freedom struggle that led the way for an international arena based on peace and humanity?” she questioned, saying there is no justification for it.

“True global leadership demands the courage to defend justice; India has shown this courage unfailingly in the past. “In a world that is increasingly divisive, we must reclaim our voice for humanity and stand fearlessly for truth and non-violence,” Gandhi added.

Earlier, during the winter parliament session last year, Priyanka Gandhi was seen carrying a bag which had “Palestine” written on it and several emblems embedded in it, including a watermelon, a symbol which is often associated with Palestinian solidarity.

On Friday, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a permanent resolution demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

A total of 149 countries voted in favour of a ceasefire in Gaza in the UNGA; meanwhile, 19 countries abstained and 12 nations voted against the resolution. (ANI)

Addressing a press briefing on Saturday, Naidu said, “The last two days have been very difficult, especially for the ministry and everyone else. The incident that happened in Ahmedabad has shaken the entire nation. My deepest condolences to the family members who have lost their loved ones in the incident. I have also personally lost my father to a road accident, so to a certain extent, I can understand the pain and anguish the family members are feeling.”

“It was a moment of shock right after we got to know about the incident, but even in that disbelief, I personally rushed to the site to oversee what needed to be done and what support was needed. Once we rushed to the site, the government of Gujarat had already been working on the ground trying to rescue,” he added.

The Minister said that the recovery of the Black Box from the debris was critical to the investigative process.

” The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, which was formed specifically to look into the incidents, accidents that happen around aircraft, was immediately mobilised. One important update from the technical investigation which is happening through the AAIB is the recovery of the black box yesterday around 5 pm from the site, the AAIB team believes that this decoding of the black box is going to give an in depth insight into what would have happened during the process of the crash or moments before the crash itself. We are also eagerly waiting for what the results or the report are going to be once the AAIB goes through its full investigation…”

Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, said, “On 12th June, around 2 PM, we received the information that the plane going from Ahmedabad to Gatwick, London, had crashed. We immediately got detailed information about this through ATC Ahmedabad. This was an AIC 171 and there were a total of 242 people on board, including 230 passengers, 2 pilots and 10 crew members. This plane took off at 1:39 pm and within a few seconds, after reaching a height of about 650 feet, it started sinking, i.e., it started losing height. At 1:39 pm, the pilot informed Ahmedabad ATC that it was a May Day, i.e., a full emergency.

“According to ATC, when it tried to contact the plane, it did not receive any response. Exactly after 1 minute, this plane crashed in Medhaninagar, which is located at a distance of about 2 km from the airport. The captain of the plane was Sumit Sabharwal, and the first officer was Clive Sundar. As far as the entire history of the plane is concerned, before this accident, the plane had completed the Paris-Delhi-Ahmedabad sector without any accident. ‘Due to the accident, the runway was closed at 2:30 pm, and after completing all the protocols, the runway of Ahmedabad was opened for limited flights from 5 PM,’ he added. The AI-171 Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 aeroplane bound for London’s Gatwick had crashed shortly after it took off from the Ahmedabad International Airport on Thursday. The airline said only one out of the 242 people on board the aircraft survived the crash.

Earlier, the government constituted a high-level multidisciplinary committee for examining the causes leading to the crash of Air India Flight AI-171.

The Committee will examine the existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued to prevent and handle such occurrences and suggest comprehensive guidelines for dealing with such instances in the future,” an order issued by the Civil Aviation Ministry read.

Earlier in the day, officials from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) arrived in Ahmedabad, where the London-bound Air India flight crashed. The AAIB, a division under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is responsible for probing aircraft accidents in India and has launched a formal investigation into the matter. (ANI)

ICC Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Netanyahu To Iranians: Unite For Freedom From Evil Regime

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on the people of Iran to unite and stand up for their freedom from what he described as an “evil and oppressive regime.”

While addressing the people of Iran on Saturday, Netanyahu stated that the goal of Israel’s ongoing military campaign, ‘Operation Rising Lion,’ is to eliminate the nuclear and ballistic missile threat faced by Israel.

He said, “Tonight I wish to speak to you, the proud people of Iran. We’re in the midst of one of the greatest military operations in history, Operation Rising Lion. The Islamic regime, which has oppressed you for nearly 50 years, threatens to destroy my country, the State of Israel. The objective of Israel’s military operation is to remove this threat, both the nuclear threat and the ballistic missile threat to Israel.”

He emphasised that Israel has eliminated top military commanders, senior nuclear scientists and hit a large portion of Iran’s ballistic missile arsenal. Netanyahu also stated that Iran and Israel have been great friends since the days of Cyrus.

“And as we achieve our objectives, we’re also clearing the path for you to achieve your objective, which is freedom. In the past 24 hours, we’ve taken out top military commanders, senior nuclear scientists, the Islamic regime’s most significant enrichment facility, and a large portion of its ballistic missile arsenal. More is on the way. The regime doesn’t know what hit them. They don’t know what will hit them. The nations of Iran and Israel have been great since the days of Cyrus the Great,” he added.

Calling on the people of Iran to stand against “evil and oppressive regime,” Netanyahu said, “The time has come for you to unite, Iran, your flag and your historic legacy, by standing up for your freedom from an evil and an oppressive regime. It has never been weaker. This is your opportunity to stand up and let your voices be heard. Woman, Life, Freedom – Zan, Zendegi, Azadi.”

He reiterated that Israel’s conflict is not with the Iranian people. “As I said yesterday and many times before, Israel’s fight is not with you. It’s not with you, the brave people of Iran, whom we respect and admire. Our fight is with our common enemy, a murderous regime that both oppresses you and impoverishes you. Brave people of Iran, your light will defeat the darkness. I am with you. The people of Israel are with you,” he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the launch of a large-scale military campaign, Operation Rising Lion, aimed at dismantling what he described as an existential threat posed by Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programmes. Netanyahu said Israel had struck multiple high-value Iranian targets in a decisive first strike.

“Moments ago, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military operation to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival,” he said, adding that the mission would continue “for as many days as it takes to remove this threat.”

The Israeli leader accused Iran of pursuing a nuclear weapons programme in defiance of global warnings, pointing to enriched uranium stockpiles capable of producing multiple nuclear bombs.

“In recent years, Iran has produced enough highly enriched uranium for nine atom bombs. Nine,” he noted, warning that Tehran had taken “steps to weaponise this enriched uranium” and could develop a nuclear weapon within months.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday said that Iran’s armed forces were ready to face Israel. Khamenei said that all the officials in the country are on the side of the armed forces.

In a series of posts on X, he said, “The Zionist regime has made a big mistake, a grave error, and committed a reckless act. By God’s grace, the consequences of this will bring that regime to ruin. The Iranian nation won’t permit the blood of its valued martyrs to go unavenged, nor will it ignore the violation of its airspace. Our Armed Forces are ready, and the country’s officials and all the people are behind the Armed Forces.”

He said that Iran will show no mercy to Israel. He stated, “Today, we must give a strong response to the evil, despicable, terrorist Zionist identity. God willing, we will respond with strength and will show no mercy to them. Life will definitely become bitter for the Zionists. The Zionist regime will not escape safely from the heinous crime they’ve committed.”

Khamenei said that their armed forces will act fiercely against Israel. “This is a certainty that the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces will deal heavy blows to this evil Zionist enemy. The Iranian people are with us. They support the Armed Forces, and the Islamic Republic will triumph over the Zionist regime, by the will of God. Let the dear Iranian nation know this, be certain and assured that every effort will be made in this regard,” he stated in a series of posts. (ANI)
