Three main accused, including a minor, have been arrested after five members of a family were allegedly burnt alive on July 6 in Titgaon village of Bihar’s Purnia district, in a suspected case of witchcraft-related violence.

Purnia District Magistrate Anshul Kumar visited the village following the incident. He told ANI, “This incident happened on 6th July. At night, five people were beaten up and burned alive. Yesterday, the police and administration recovered all the bodies. The post-mortem has been done, and the last rites have been performed. A case has been registered against around 23 named accused. An FIR has also been registered against 150-200 unidentified people. The police have caught the main accused… In regard to this case, 3 people have been caught, of whom one is a minor.”

Pankaj Kumar Sharma, SDPO Sadar Purnia, said, “We received information at 5 am from one Sonu (16) that, in the name of black magic and witchcraft, members of the Oraon community killed five members of his family. Police reached the spot and recovered all five charred bodies. Three people have been arrested. Others remain unidentified, and the investigation is ongoing. People from the entire village were involved.”

A resident told ANI, “It looks like many people from the village were involved in this. Currently, the village is deserted; people have fled from here. We want justice.”

Lalit Kumar, whose father, mother, brother, sister-in-law and grandmother were allegedly killed, said he could not believe what had happened. He said his brother had called him at night to say the family members were being burnt alive, but he was unable to return that night.

“My brother called me and told me that the family members were being burnt, and where I was, I could not come from there. When I came in the morning, I came to know and I could not believe that it was true. There were five people – my father, mother, brother, sister-in-law and grandmother. The people of the village together burnt them,” Lalit told ANI.

In a separate incident that occurred on the same day, two children were killed during a clash between two groups in Dumrawan village, Nalanda district.

Commenting on the recent surge in violence, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan said on Monday that law and order in Bihar had “completely collapsed”, raising concerns over the murders in Nalanda. (ANI)

Star cricketer Virat Kohli, along with his wife and actress Anushka Sharma, were spotted at the centre court of the ongoing tennis tournament, Wimbledon, on July 7. The couple was there to witness Novak Djokovic’s thrilling round of 16 win against Australia’s Alex de Minaur in the Wimbledon 2025 Championships.

Virat and Anushka arrived as spectators for the match between one of the greats of tennis, Novak Djokovic, and rising star Alex de Minaur.

In photos going viral on the internet, Virat and Anushka were seen sitting in the stands alongside other spectators. The Indian cricketer donned a brown blazer for the outing while Anushka looked elegant and classy in a white blazer.

The thrilling tennis match ended in another wing for Novak, a step forward for the Tennis legend to clinch another Wimbledon title to his name.

Kohli took to Instagram to share his excitement, posting a heartfelt story for Djokovic.

Last year, the Indian ODI cricket team captain Rohit Sharma also attended the Wimbledon tournament to watch the semifinal clash between Daniil Medvedev.

Kohli, who recently retired from Test cricket, was in London following his triumph with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in June 2025.

Coming to the match between Novak and Alex, the seven-time champion secured his berth in the final eight with 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in a contest that lasted for three hours and nineteen minutes.

Last year, De Minaur had to withdraw before his quarter-final clash against Djokovic at SW19 due to a hip injury he sustained in his fourth-round win against Arthur Fils.

De Minaur had dropped just one set en route to the Round of 16, but his run ended on a frustrating note. He steamrolled past Djokovic in the opening set, but the 26-year-old couldn’t convert the break-point opportunities to turn around his fate. The limited errors from Djokovic kept things in his favour in the second and third sets.

In the fourth set, he rallied from 1-4 to earn a spot in the quarter-finals.

After sealing his 101st victory, the 24-time Grand Slam champion is three victories away from a record-extending 25th title. If Djokovic wins Wimbledon, the 38-year-old will go level with Roger Federer’s tally of eight titles on the grass-court major. (ANI)

Superstar Jr NTR has penned a heartfelt note as he wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming action-packed movie ‘War 2’.

On Monday, Jr NTR wrote a heartwarming note and shared it on his Instagram Stories.

Jr NTR informed his fans that he had wrapped the shoot and praised Hrithik Roshan.

He wrote, “And It’s a wrap for #War2! So much to take back from this one… It’s always a blast being on set with @hrithikroshan Sir. His energy is something I have always admired. There is so much I have learned from him on this journey of War 2.”

The poster showed Kiara in all black, pairing an open long trench coat with leather pants. She exuded bossy vibes as she held a gun while aiming at a distance.

When the teaser of ‘War 2’ was released, fans of Kiara were enthralled after they witnessed the never-before-seen bold look of their favourite actress in the movie.

However, some of her fans were a little disappointed, speculating a non-significant role of Kiara in the film, as per the teaser.

Meanwhile, YRF’s blockbuster Spy Universe’s most anticipated action spectacle of the year ‘WAR 2’ will debut in IMAX theatres across major International markets, North America, the Middle East, the UK & Europe, Australasia, Africa and South East Asia, alongside its Domestic release in India on August 14.

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday during the CM’s visit to Delhi and requested support to set up a film studio in the state with international standards.

The ‘Singham’ actor discussed the possibility of building a full-fledged studio equipped with facilities like animation, VFX, AI, and other modern tools for film production. He also expressed his interest in establishing a skill training centre to bring in experts and train workers needed in the film industry.

Meanwhile, Ajay recently announced the release date of the film ‘Son of Sardar 2’ on the work front, calling it “a return of Sardaar.”

Taking to his Instagram handle, Ajay Devgn shared the first poster of his upcoming film. The poster featured him wearing a turban while standing on two tankers. The movie is set to release in theatres on July 25. The makers have not revealed further details about the movie yet.

The first instalment of ‘Son of Sardaar’ was directed by Ashwani Dhir. It featured Devgn alongside Sonakshi Sinha and tells the story of Jassi, a man who returns to his ancestral village in Punjab and becomes embroiled in a family feud.

The actor was last seen in the film ‘Raid 2’. He shared the screen with Riteish Deshmukh in the movie. It was released in theatres on May 1. Raid 2′ was produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. (ANI)

Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has said that Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is a Pakistani agent, and Pakistan’s Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) funds him.

In an interview with ANI, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa talked about the government’s initiatives for the welfare of the Sikh community.

He also spoke about the Delhi government’s decision to seek a pause on CAQM directives for no fuel to end-of-life vehicles.

Answering a query, he said Pannun capitalises on media reporting some of his remarks, and nobody really cares for what he says.

“Gurpatwant Singh Pannun shouts and some TV channels play it. When he speaks in Canada, even a sparrow does not feel afraid. When the media reports his remarks, he feels like a hero and gets some funds. He is Pakistani agent and ISI funds him,” Sirsa said.

Sirsa also talked about a protest against Indian government during his visit to US as a office-bearer of Gurdwara Prabhandhak Committee and said he had been informed that Pakistan Embassy pays people to protest. He said when he confronted protesters bout their grouse, they started running away. “Such people create hatred as their shops run from it,” he said.

Pannun has been declared a ‘designated individual terrorist’ by the Centre and is wanted in India on terror charges.

Answering queries, Sirsa dismissed claims that BJP does not get votes of his community in a significant manner.

“During Delhi Elections, in my constituency 36% voters are Sikh and I received 85% votes, I won with a margin of more than 18,000 votes. Other parties also want this propaganda that Sikhs don’t vote for BJP,” Sirsa said.

He also slammed Congress over the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

He said atrocities were also committed against women and said the then Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, who was convicted for the riots, had been given “Z plus security”.

He said the government is acting firmly against Rohingyas and other illegal immigrants.

“Hum ukhaad ukhaad kar fenk rahe hain inhe…I will not let them live in my region. This country belongs to the Indians, and only Indians are allowed to live here. If someone wants to visit India as a guest, they are welcome here. But if someone poses a danger to our people…we will not let them stay here. If Arvind Kejriwal wants, he can keep them in his house,” he said.

Answering another query, Sirsa referred to probes against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and some other AAP leaders and said they will face “consequences of their misdeeds” before he next elections.

“We never made fake allegations, because of this, the case was registered in ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau)…An FIR has been lodged against Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain. Yesterday also, Satyendar Jain was with the ED in a case related to the Delhi Jal Board…I would like to confirm that we will conclude the trials of all pending cases within the next 5 years…Before the next elections, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain and corrupt people will face the consequences of their misdeeds,” he said. Actor Vishnu Vishal and badminton star Jwala Gutta have finally revealed the name of their baby girl, who was born on April 22 of this year.

The couple named their daughter Mira, and it was none other than Bollywood star Aamir Khan who chose the name.

On Sunday, both Vishnu and Jwala took to Instagram to share adorable photos from the intimate naming ceremony. In the pictures, Aamir Khan can be seen attending the celebration and posing with the family.

Along with the pictures, Jwala wrote, “Our ‘Mira’! Couldn’t have asked for more!! This journey would have been impossible without you, Aamir!! We love you. P.S. Thank you for the beautiful and thoughtful name!!!!”

Vishnu’s caption added, “Introducing our MIRA… A big hug to #AamirKhan sir for coming all the way to Hyderabad to name our baby. MIRA represents unconditional love and peace. The journey with Aamir sir to this point has been a magical one…”

Vishnu Vishal and Jwala Gutta got married in April 2021 in a private ceremony in Hyderabad, after dating for a few years.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has been busy with his work commitments. He recently returned to the big screen with ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ and is being praised for his role in the film. It is a sequel to the blockbuster movie ‘Taare Zameen Par.’ In the sports drama, Aamir plays the role of a basketball coach who is tasked with training a group of neurodivergent children. The film, directed by Prasanna, hit theatres on June 20.

Uttar Pradesh Minister AK Sharma on Monday lashed out at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, accusing him of defaming Hindu religious events like the Kanwar Yatra and Mahakumbh for political gains and engaging in vote-bank politics in the guise of criticism.

Sharma’s remarks came as the state prepares for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, which begins on July 10.

Speaking to ANI, Minister Sharma said, “This one month is like a celebration throughout the country. We are ensuring that there are no potholes on the roads, especially in cities along the Kanwar route. We are ensuring that all manholes and drains are properly covered to prevent any unforeseen accidents at night. Arrangements for separate restrooms for men and women have been made along the Kanwar route.”

He further added, “Arrangements for meals of Kanwar Yatris are also being made. We are making sure the facilities are better than last year’s. Streetlights are being installed throughout the Kanwar route. One thing we have learnt from Muharram tazia processions is that we will ask Kanwar yatris to not make very high DJ setups to avoid coming in contact with high-tension power lines.”

When asked about the opposition’s reaction, Sharma launched a direct attack on Akhilesh Yadav.”The opposition only wants to play politics. I myself want to ask him (Akhilesh Yadav) that you were in power for a long time, how many times or where did you make arrangements for Kanwar pilgrims?” Sharma questioned.

Minister Sharma further told ANI, “The Kanwar Yatra is a symbolic act of Shiva worship for devotees. Making such unnecessary remarks does not suit Akhilesh Yadav or his party, despite their tendency to seize every opportunity. When the Mahakumbh was organised, statements were made then, too. They (the Opposition) have nothing to do with any festival. They only engage in vote-bank politics. It’s fine to point out flaws in arrangements, but do not question our festivals.”

Referring to past controversies, he added, “When the Mahakumbh was organised, they raised objections. Akhilesh Yadav left no opportunity to defame the Mahakumbh and Sanatan Dharma.”

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe at the state administration, suggesting that top officials should personally ensure food and health arrangements for Kanwar pilgrims.

“They should, the Commissioner, DM and SP should be deployed to make food arrangements for the Kanwar yatris. CO and SDM ko lagao unke pair dabane ke liye (CO, SDM should be deployed to provide them with ease). This will perhaps give them relief. This is our Vedic custom. The government should issue an order that says that DM, SP will make food and health arrangements for the Kanwar yatris and CO, SDM unke pair vair daba kar sewa karenge,” Yadav, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, told reporters.

In the Kanwar Yatra procession, Kanwariyas collect water from a river and carry it hundreds of kilometres to offer it to the shrines of Lord Shiva. Devotees across the country perform worship, fasting and pilgrimage dedicated to the Lord Shiva. (ANI)

The makers of Rishab Shetty’s highly anticipated film ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ have released a poster of the movie on the occasion of the actor’s 42nd birthday.

Taking to their Instagram handle, Hombale Films (the official production banner of the film) shared a poster featuring Rishab Shetty, who is seen holding a battle axe in one hand and a shield in the other.

Shetty has donned tribal warrior gear in the poster, hinting at the breathtaking visuals in the movie.

Rishab also won the prestigious National Award for Best Actor for ‘Kantara’. Written and directed by Shetty, ‘Kantara’ became a pan-India hit in 2022.

On receiving a National Award for the film, he told ANI earlier, “This has been possible because of my entire team. I am just the face of the film, it is all because of their hard work. The production house, the DOP, the technicians, it is all because of them.”

He also expressed gratitude towards his fans and said, “I want to thank the people of Karnataka. I want to thank the National Awards panel for recognising this film. The people have made this film a hit, I am very happy. I want to dedicate this win to the people of Karnataka.”

Critically acclaimed director Imtiaz Ali celebrated his mother’s 75th birthday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Sunday.

Taking to his Instagram handle, the ‘Rockstar’ director shared videos and photos of his mother’s birthday celebration.

In the videos, Imtiaz’s mother was seen cutting a cake and posing for photos at the popular tourist spots in Pahalgam.

“Gratitude and love as mom turns 75! in Pahalgam, Kashmir,” wrote Imtiaz Ali.

The fans applauded Imtiaz’s decision to promote Pahalgam by celebrating his mother’s birthday in Kashmir after the terror attack earlier this year.

An Instagram user thanked the filmmaker for promoting Pahalgam.

He wrote, “As a proud Kashmiri, I sincerely thank you for promoting Pahalgam once again after the heartbreaking event that none of us ever wished for. Raja Bhoj International Airport, located in Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal, received a bomb threat through an email, which turned out to be a hoax call, a police official said.

The police received the information about the threatening mail from the airport authority on Sunday, July 6, following which they conducted a complete check of the airport premises, but nothing suspicious was found, the officer added.

Nonetheless, the police are investigating the matter to trace the origin of the mail and the sender.

Speaking to ANI, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Addl DCP) Malkeet Singh said, “Yesterday (July 6), we got information from the Airport authority regarding an email received to them that read about planting a bomb, but it did not mention where exactly it was placed. An investigation in relation to the matter is underway, and a thorough check of the airport premises was performed from the security point of view. So far, no IED (Improvised Explosive Device) or bomb has been found.”

The officer also mentioned that an email was received earlier as well, in which legal action was followed, but nothing was found.

“We investigate the origin of the email and try to find information about the sender, whether it is any prankster or any organisation, whoever it is, legal action will be taken against those found responsible,” he added. (ANI)
