FBI Arrests Cindy Rodriguez Singh From India For murdering Her 6-Year-Old Son

A coordinated operation between the US law enforcement and Indian authorities led to the arrest of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s one of the Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, in India for the murder of her six-year-old son.

FBI, in coordination with Indian authorities and INTERPOL, arrested Cindy Rodriguez Singh in India. She has been transported to the United States. The FBI will hand her over to the Texas authorities, Fox News reported.

FBI Director confirming the same noted that she was on FBI’ ‘Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitive’ list. Singh faces charges in Texas for allegedly murdering her son, Noel Alvarez, authorities said.

Singh was wanted on state charges of killing her six-year-old son. She will face charges of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution and Capital Murder of a person under 10 years of age, Kash Patel said in a post on X.”FBI has arrested another Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitive: Cindy Rodriguez Singh. Singh is wanted on state charges of killing her six-year-old son. She will face charges of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution and Capital Murder of a person under 10 years of age,” FBI Director Patel said.

According to Kash Patel, Singh lied to authorities about her son’s whereabouts in March 2023 and fled to India.

“In March of 2023, authorities in Everman, Texas conducted a welfare search for Singh’s child after he had not been seen since October 2022. Singh allegedly lied to authorities about his whereabouts, and then two days later, boarded a flight to India — and we believe has not been back to the United States since,” Kash Patel said.

Patel said that Singh was charged in October 2023 in the District Court of Tarrant County, Fort Worth, Texas, and in November, authorities issued a federal arrest warrant for the charge of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.

Kash Patel lauded the efforts of the FBI and Indian law enforcement authorities that led to the arrest.

“This is the 4th “10 Most Wanted” fugitive arrested in the last 7 months. That’s a credit to tremendous field work, law enforcement partners, intelligence operatives, and an administration who is letting good cops do their jobs. Thanks to our local partners in Texas, where this case originated, The Justice Department, as well as partners in India for the coordinating. Dallas and New York FBI did tremendous work,” Patel said.

Cindy Rodriguez Singh had a reward of up to USD 25,000 for information leading to her arrest.

Notably, Rodriguez Singh has ties to India and Mexico. She was wanted for allegedly killing her 6-year-old son, who hasn’t been seen alive since October 2022. (ANI)

Yamuna River Flows Close To Danger Mark In Delhi

The Yamuna River in the national capital is flowing close to the danger level.

Visual from Loha Pul on Thursday showed the water close to the 205 m mark.

The opening of all 18 gates of Hathinikund Barrage was opened after 1.78 lakh cusec of water came into the river due to heavy rainfall, resulting in a rise in the water level of the river.

Continuous change in water level over the past few weeks has kept the administration on its toes.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the residential area at Yamuna Bazaar, where water from the overflowing Yamuna River had entered and assured that there is no flood-like situation in Delhi and the water level will drop within one to two days.

After assessing the affected area, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “The situation is under control. The water level was close to 206 m in the morning, but it has not crossed this mark yet. The water should recede in a day or two. We are providing food and water, as well as a medical facility here. There is no flood situation in Delhi.”

She said that the administration has made arrangements in school for those who want to go to a safer location, providing them with a place to stay and food, as well as all the necessary help in the affected area.

The Yamuna River was flowing close to the danger mark, and it was due to this that the water entered the residential areas near the riverbank. CM Gupta visited the affected area to analyse the situation and talk to the people living in the area.

The Yamuna River is flowing close to the danger mark after all 18 gates of Hathinikund Barrage in Haryana’s Yamunanagar were opened on Sunday due to rising water level after continuous rain.

The visuals of the river at Delhi’s ITO showed that the water has neared the danger mark. This raised concern among the authorities.

Earlier, all the 18 gates of Hathinikund Barrage were opened after 1.78 lakh cusec of water came into the river due to heavy rainfall, resulting in a rise in the water level.

Vijay Garg, Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department, said, “1.78 lakh cusec of water has come into the river after the recent rainfall. This is the highest water level of this season.”

The water level in rivers is increasing due to continuous rainfall, and flood-like situations are being witnessed in several regions. (ANI)

Israel To Call Up 60,000 Reservists As It Plans Gaza City Ops

Israel will call up 60,000 reservists in the coming weeks as it pushes forward with a plan to seize Gaza City, the military said, even as mediators pursue efforts to secure a ceasefire in the 22-month war, as reported by Al Jazeera.

The military said on Wednesday that Defence Minister Israel Katz approved plans to begin operations in some of Gaza’s most densely populated areas, and that it would call up 60,000 reservists and lengthen the service of an additional 20,000 reservists.

The announcement comes as human rights groups warn that a humanitarian crisis could worsen in Gaza, where most residents have been displaced multiple times, neighbourhoods lie in ruins, and starvation deaths continue to rise amid the threat of widescale famine.

An Israeli military official told journalists that the new phase of combat would involve “a gradual precise and targeted operation in and around Gaza City,” including some areas where forces had not previously operated. The official added that the military had already begun operating in the neighbourhoods of Zeitoun and Jabalia as part of the initial stages.

Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from central Gaza, said residents are bracing for the worst as Israel pursues its plan to seize Gaza’s largest city, in an operation that could displace hundreds of thousands of people to concentration zones in the south of the territory.

Abu Azzoum said Israeli artillery has flattened rows of homes in eastern Gaza City as attacks intensified across densely populated areas. “Last night was completely sleepless as Israeli drones and warplanes filled the skies, attacking and destroying homes and makeshift camps,” he said.

He also described how a father in al-Mawasi, an Israeli-designated so-called safe zone in southern Gaza, lost his children in an overnight strike. “He told us his children were sleeping peacefully when the Israeli missile tore through the tent and ripped their bodies apart,” Al Jazeera reported.

At least 35 Palestinians, including 10 people seeking aid, were killed in Israeli attacks on Wednesday, according to medical sources.

Israel’s plan to escalate its assault coincides with renewed mediation efforts led by Qatar and Egypt, with backing from the United States. The latest framework calls for a 60-day truce, a staggered exchange of captives and Palestinian prisoners, and expanded aid access.

While Qatar said the proposal was “almost identical” to a version Israel had previously accepted, Egypt stressed that “the ball is now in its (Israel’s) court.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not publicly commented on the proposal. Last week, he insisted any deal must ensure “all the hostages are released at once and according to our conditions for ending the war.”

Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi said his movement “opened the door wide to the possibility of reaching an agreement, but the question remains whether Netanyahu will once again close it, as he has done in the past.”

The truce push comes amid mounting international criticism of Israel’s conduct in the war and growing domestic pressure on Netanyahu.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has said at least 62,064 Palestinians have been killed since Israel’s war on Gaza started on October 7, 2023, most of them civilians. The United Nations regards the ministry’s figures as credible.

Al Jazeera reported that the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate amid ongoing attacks. (ANI)

Delhi HC rejects Jacqueline Fernandez’s plea against ED’s chargesheet

The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed the petition moved by Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with the Rs 200 crore money laundering case.

Jacqueline had challenged the charge sheet filed against her in the Rs 200 crores money laundering case. In this case, Sukesh Chandrasekhar is also an accused.

Justice Anish Dayal dismissed the petition after hearing counsels at length. The detailed order of judgment is to be uploaded by the High Court.

The High Court had reserved the order on actor Jacqueline Fernandez’s petition challenging the Enforcement Directorate’s complaint under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The case revolves around allegations of her receiving lavish gifts from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Senior Advocate Sidharth Aggarwal, along with Advocate Prashant Patil and Shakti Pandey, represented Jacqueline Fernandez, while Special Counsel Zoheb Hossain appeared on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

During arguments, Aggarwal had contended that if the ED claims that money was distributed among 15 individuals, then by that logic, everyone involved, whether a grocery vendor, court officials, or lawyers, could be deemed guilty of money laundering.

He had questioned the premise that any financial transaction involving a criminal automatically constitutes money laundering, suggesting that such an interpretation would create undue fear.

Aggarwal had further argued that the ED’s case hinges on Fernandez’s awareness of Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s criminal background, as reported in a 2021 newspaper article.

He asserted that merely being a celebrity does not imply prior knowledge of tainted funds. “Businessmen often have multiple cases against them,” he stated, adding that Fernandez was introduced to Chandrashekhar as a business tycoon. “Today, I am paying the price of being a celebrity,” Aggarwal concluded.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) argued that its investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, is separate and distinct from police investigations into scheduled offences. It had emphasised that individuals accused of money laundering may differ from those charged in the predicate offence, given the distinct nature of the crime.

ED had opposed Jacqueline’s plea and submitted that she continued to enjoy Sukesh’s gifts despite knowing his criminal antecedents. The petition to quash the case is an attempt to stall proceedings.

Advocates for Jacqueline had submitted that being in the public eye and being labelled as a money launderer is problematic.

“My prayer is not to quash the complaint completely, it’s only to quash the present applicant (Jacqueline). Sukesh is sitting in jail and carrying out extortion and fraud from there. EOW comes to me, records my statement, and finds that what I have to say is relevant to their investigation. Ed has filed four complaints, but the investigation is still going on, and the trial cannot start,” said Senior Advocate Siddharth Aggarwal.

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez had filed a petition seeking the quashing of the ECIR (equivalent to an FIR) and the supplementary chargesheet filed by the ED in connection with the Rs 200 crore money laundering case.

Jacqueline, through a plea, stated that the evidence filed by the Directorate of Enforcement would prove that the Petitioner is an innocent victim of Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s maliciously targeted attack. “There is absolutely no indication that she had any involvement whatsoever in aiding him to launder his purportedly ill-got wealth. Hence, she cannot be prosecuted for the offences under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002,” the plea stated. (ANI)

Neeraj To Skip Brussels Diamond League

The current javelin throw world champion and Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra will skip the Brussels Diamond League, reported the Olympics.com on Wednesday.

The competition will take place in Belgium on Friday. With Neeraj having sealed his spot for the Zurich Diamond League final on August 27-28 with 15 points from his past two Diamond League appearances this season, Neeraj can take this time to freshen himself up for his world title defence.

The men’s javelin throw final, which will decide the 2025 Diamond League champion, will be held on August 28. Neeraj is a 2022 Diamond League champion and a runner-up in 2023 and 2024. He is yet to announce his participation for the final in Zurich, though.

Brussels meet would be the fourth and final Diamond League event scheduled for this year, with men’s javelin throw category in it. Neeraj has opted to skip this one, just like he opted out of the Silesia Diamond League earlier this month.

Neeraj finished runner-up in the 2024 Diamond League final with his best throw of 87.86 m, losing to Grenada’s Anderson Peters by barest of the margins of one centimetre.

The Indian superstar has enjoyed a spectacular start to the 2025 season.

Chopra took the top honours in the inaugural edition of the Neeraj Chopra Classic, a competition named after him at Sri Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium in Bengaluru last month. The reigning javelin throw champion stood triumphant with 86.18m.

Neeraj kickstarted with a win at the Potch Invitational in Potchefstroom, South Africa, in April and followed it up with a very special second-place finish at Doha Diamond League, where he crossed the 90-metre mark for the first time ever, with a throw of 90.23 m.

He also went on to secure a second spot in the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Poland later that month and resumed his winning ways with back-to-back titles at Paris Diamond League and Ostrava Golden Spike this month, with best efforts of 88.16 m and 85.29 m. Most recently came his NC Classic triumph in front of his home crowd.

Neeraj will defend his world title in the World Athletics Championships scheduled for Tokyo from September 13-21. During the previous edition, Neeraj had finished ahead of Nadeem to win the gold, becoming the first-ever Indian to land a gold at the marquee event. (ANI)

Is Second War Between Iran & Israel In The Works?

The situation is tense again after the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel in June. The US and Israel are threatening to attack Iran’s nuclear programme, while Tehran has announced to continue uranium enrichment.

Meanwhile, threats of war and counter-statements are coming from both sides, but a senior army officer close to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has claimed that the US is unable to attack Iran due to its economic and military limitations.

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said in an interview with Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen channel that, “If the US feels that it cannot defeat Iran through war and wants to negotiate for a real solution, then we will respond positively. But if the talks are an excuse to prepare for war, then it is useless for us.” Larijani’s statement on the one hand shows the possibility of a diplomatic solution, while on the other hand it also raises questions about America’s intentions.

On their part, France, the United Kingdom and Germany have warned Iran that if it does not resume nuclear talks and produce concrete results by the end of August, UN sanctions may be reimposed. After the military attacks launched by Israel in June and the US bombing of three Iranian nuclear installations on the ninth day, the Trump administration had claimed that Iran’s nuclear programme was over. However, Iran has repeatedly said that its nuclear programme is for civilian use only and it has no intention of making a bomb.

But in reality, at present, amid the stalling of nuclear talks and fears of military tensions, both sides are engaged in war preparations. Iran has insisted on strengthening its military preparations, while Israel and the US are constantly threatening military action.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei warned at a press conference in Tehran on Monday (August 18), that Israel’s expansionism, if left unchecked, could drag the Middles East region into “endless wars.

Baghaei sounded the alarm while slamming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent claims about realising the so-called “Greater Israel” vision, which Netanyahu described as including occupied Palestinian territories and parts of neighbouring Arab states.

This “Greater Israel” idea has laid bare Israel’s domineering and expansionist nature, Baghaei said. Baghaei said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) deputy director general’s visit to Iran earlier this month aimed to establish guidelines for Iran-IAEA interactions after Israeli and US attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities in June. He added that more talks between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog are due to take place in the coming days.

Meanwhile, The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the top most military body in Iran, controlling both the Iranian Army and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) has sternly warned the United States and the Zionist regime against any renewed aggression against the Islamic Republic, stressing that such folly will be met with a crushing response much stronger than that of the 12-day imposed war in June.

The top Iranian military body released a statement on Saturday (August 16), as it commemorated the release anniversary of the prisoners of war from Iraq.

The statement was followed by a warning by top military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader on Sunday (August 17), that another war with Israel or the United States was likely, dismissing the current ceasefire as just another phase in the conflict.

“We are not in a ceasefire; we are in a stage of war. No protocol, regulation, or agreement has been written between us and the US or Israel,” said IRGC General Yahya Rahim Safavi. “I think another war may happen, and after that, there may be no more wars.”

Safavi’s comments are the latest in a series of combative remarks from military leaders on both sides, with Israel’s army chief vowing readiness for further strikes and Iran’s General Staff warning of “a far stronger response” to any future attacks by US or Israel.

As Tensions heat-up a middle eastern expert says that he believes that an all-out war could begin again by the end of August. There’s a catch, however — Israel won’t be able to sustain such a military venture without the US fully backing its efforts, according to Trita Parsi, the executive vice president of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft.

While both Israel and Iran keep their weapons stores “under wraps,” Parsi said that Western intelligence assessments indicated that Iran “still has 1,600 missiles that can reach Israel.”

Israel, on the other hand, was already “running low on interceptors,” including Arrow 3 interceptors. “The exact levels are unknown, but much indicates that Israel could not have continued the war much longer (unless the US entered it fully),” Parsi told the Express US.

Nevertheless, Israel seems to be relying on US aid, he said. In an article for Foreign Policy, which was also sent to the Express US, Parsi wrote, “Israel is likely to launch another war with Iran before December — perhaps even as early as late August.”

Iran is already anticipating another Israeli attack against it, Parsi said, and is “preparing.” In the first 12-day war, he said the Middle Eastern country “played the long game, pacing its missile attacks as it anticipated a prolonged conflict.”

That means two things — the first is that Iran has enough missiles to fight a war of attrition, and the second is that it’s likely to change its strategy in the case of a second war.

“In the next round, however, Iran is likely to strike decisively from the outset, aiming to dispel any notion that it can be subdued under Israeli military dominance,” Parsi wrote.

“As a result, the coming war will likely be far bloodier than the first,” he added. And that poses a serious issue for the US, he said, should the country join the conflict.

The expert went on to say that Israel’s war back in June, was “never solely about Iran’s nuclear programme.” Instead, it was about “shifting the balance of power in the Middle East.”

“For more than two decades, Israel has pushed the United States to take military action against Iran to weaken it and restore a favourable regional balance — one that Israel cannot achieve on its own,” Parsi wrote.

“In this context, Israel’s strikes had three main objectives beyond weakening Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. It sought to draw the United States into direct military conflict with Iran, to decapitate the Iranian regime, and to turn the country into the next Syria or Lebanon — countries that Israel can bomb with impunity and without any US involvement,” he continued.

Only one of those goals was realised, however, Parsi said. The US was drawn into the conflict, but Iran’s regime was not incapacitated. And neither was its nuclear programme, he added.

Overall, the chances of another round of war between Iran and Israel seems rather slim, as Israel is currently focussed on getting Gaza free of Gazans, to annex more unauthorised territory, an action against which no strong international condemnation or counter has come so far. Meanwhile, US President Trump is preoccupied with his tariff wars and political and economic situation back home and seems least interested to start another war, which may ultimately prove to be his nemesis.

Lok Sabha Passes Bill To Outlaw Online Gambling-Betting

Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, aiming to promote e-sports and online social games, while outlawing online money gaming.

The Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha earlier today.

The Bill was brought in to encourage e-sports and online social games while prohibiting harmful online money gaming services, advertisements, and financial transactions related to them. The Bill seeks to completely ban on offering, operating, or facilitating online money games, irrespective of whether based on skill, chance, or both.

“When it comes to society, middle-class people, or a segment of industry. When it comes to society and the government revenue, our prime minister has always chosen the society. Never have we compromised on the interest of the society,” Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said, requesting the House, particularly the Opposition members, to unanimously pass the Bill in the Lok Sabha. Opposition members continued raising their slogans, as the Bill was passed by voice vote.

“Online gaming has three segments. First is e-sports which needs strategic thinking, team building, enhances cultural exchange…Second segment is online social games, be it Solitaire, Chess, Sudoku. They are educative and entertaining. They are widely played,” Vaishnaw further said.

“There is a third segment, online money game, which is a cause of concern in the society. There are people, there are families who got addicted to online money games. They lose their hard-earned money. Algorithms are sometimes such that it is different to know with whom you are playing. Algorithms are opaque.”

“Many families have been devastated, many died by suicide,” the minister said. Online money game is seriously affecting families, terror being financed, money being laundered.

There will be no punishment for those playing online money games; it is only the service providers, advertisers, promoters, and those who financially support such games will face the consequences, said sources.

“No punishment for those playing online games. No punishment to victims. Only punishment for service providers, advertisers, promoters and who support financially to such games,” a source said on Wednesday.

Through this legislation, the government aims to promote e-sports and give them legal recognition.

This bill will help in providing legal support to e-sports. Earlier, there was no legal backing for e-sports, sources said.

“We have interacted with the 3rd segment of the online gaming industry. We tried to impose GST also, but the challenge continued. We had no option but to choose society for the welfare of people,” a source said.

For the promotion of e-sports, which has been recognised as a legitimate form of competitive sport in India, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will establish a dedicated framework. Online social games will also be promoted by the government.

It is the online money game, according to sources, that is a big problem for society. Several reports of suicide, violent attacks and other challenges were reported, the sources added. “Fraud and cheating are happening through these games and several families are ruined.”

The government believes that the harms of addiction, financial losses, and even extreme consequences such as suicides associated with online money gaming can be prevented by prohibition of such activities.

There are reports of money laundering and terror financing, the sources added.

Failing to fulfil the law, once enacted, can attract imprisonment up to 3 years and/or fine up to Rs 1 crore for offering or facilitating online money gaming. For advertising money games, and imprisonment up to 2 years and/or fine up to Rs 50 lakh may be attracted. for financial transactions related to money games, imprisonment up to 3 years and/or fine up to Rs 1 crore is being provided.

Any repeat offences may attract enhanced penalties, including imprisonment of 3-5 years and fines up to Rs 2 crore. Offences under key sections to be cognizable and non-bailable.

The central government may authorise officers to investigate, search, and seize digital or physical property linked to offences, and officers would be empowered to enter, search, and arrest without warrant in certain cases of suspected offences. (ANI)

Pakistan: Heavy Rains Lash Karachi, Death Toll Rises To Eight

Rain resumed in parts of Karachi on Wednesday afternoon as roads inundated by Tuesday’s heavy downpour continued to challenge residents. The death toll from rain-related incidents since yesterday rose to eight, while Sindh and Balochistan prepared for further showers in the coming days, Dawn reported.

Tuesday’s rainfall severely strained Karachi’s infrastructure, causing stormwater drains and sewers to burst and disrupting industrial operations. Several areas faced prolonged power and internet outages, prompting the provincial administration to announce a public holiday in the city today.

Rainfall was reported shortly after 2:30pm in Saddar, Malir, Malir Cantonment, Scheme 33, Gulistan-i-Jauhar Block 2, and near I.I. Chundrigar Road, Kala Pull Road, and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical College (JPMC). The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued an alert at 3 pm, warning of thunderstorms and strong winds at most locations in Karachi and nearby areas over the next two to four hours, with heavy showers forecast at some points.

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, in a post on X, urged citizens to remain indoors. “It is expected to rain again from 2pm onwards. I would request people to avoid movement and if it starts to rain, please stay put where you are whether it is your office or residence,” he said.

The Sindh government had directed all public and private educational institutions to remain closed today, following Wahab’s rain emergency declaration. However, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah rebutted a “fake” notification about school closures for Thursday and Friday, clarifying no such orders had been issued.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting on Karachi’s rain situation, stating on X: “More rain expected, municipal and emergency teams are on alert. Continuous efforts underway for drainage and rescue operations.” He added that 26 de-watering pumps were deployed citywide to “ease flooding.”

Floodwater remained accumulated on multiple roads, including near I.I. Chundrigar Road. While Karachi Traffic Police reported 10 bypasses and three main roads closed due to flooding, Wahab shared videos on social media showing routes clear for vehicles, including Sher Shah Suri Road and Submarine Underpass. He advised avoiding Shaheed-i-Millat Road, suggesting Stadium Road or Shahrah-i-Quaideen as alternatives.

Addressing a press conference, Wahab said: “Climate change is a reality. If you want to make someone a target of criticism and say whatever you want, you can. But, you can see how huge a challenge climate change is for any government, state, or administration around the world,” Dawn reported. He added that Pakistan faced “different challenges” compared to developed countries and highlighted that Karachi experienced two rain spells on Tuesday, with the second lasting from 1:15pm to 6pm, followed by intermittent showers until 8pm.

Wahab noted that Manghopir received 235mm of rain in 12 hours, while Karachi’s nullahs have a capacity of only 40mm, leading to spillover. He stressed that a nullah in the Nursery area was fully functional.

According to Dawn, Edhi Marine Service recovered the bodies of Abbas Mohsin, 50, from Gurumandir nullah, and Yasir, 19, in DHA Phase 5 after electrocution. Rescue 1122 reported several people rescued from Sukhan Nadi and 30 individuals evacuated from a call centre in PECHS Block 6. Among the six deaths reported on Tuesday were four members of a family in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, a child in Orangi Town, and a young man in DHA Phase 7.

K-Electric spokesperson Imran Rana said efforts were underway to restore power after rainwater receded, with supply reinstated across multiple areas including North Nazimabad, Malir Cantt, Orangi Town, DHA Phase 5, and Clifton, Dawn reported.

Tuesday’s rains also disrupted traffic and flight operations at Jinnah International Airport, with several flights delayed, cancelled, or diverted. The PMD forecast further torrential rains in Sindh, parts of Balochistan, and other regions, warning of potential urban flooding in low-lying areas including Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Tharparkar, and Hyderabad.
