China Wants To Control Everything: Lobsang Sangay On India-China Thaw

Lobsang Sangay, former Tibetan Prime Minister in exile, warned that China wants to exert control over everything and its “tentacles are everywhere.”

He said the selection of the successor of the Dalai Lama has major geopolitical ramifications among all the neighbouring countries and around the world. “Chinese world order is what we experienced as Tibetans.”

Sangay warned that China only desires control, just as they are exerting control over the Dalai Lama issue.

“You think you can have relations, you can deal with the Chinese, but you have no idea what the Chinese system, the Chinese world order is. They want to control everything. They want to control the selection of Dalai Lama because they want to control, like they’re already doing in Xinjiang, they’re controlling all the imams. They say, no, you’re not the real imam. People accept you. Nope, this is the guy we like, you know. And they control Tibetan lamas. They control priests, you know, and bishops,” he said.

Sangay said that China might also try to exert control over other Buddhist offices across other nations. China may then also interfere in their internal affairs.

“[For China] This religion is poison. This religion is an enemy. Yet they want to control it. So that’s why I say it’s a very dangerous game. If you allow the Chinese government to control the office of the Dalai Lama, they might control the offices of other Buddhist leaders in Southeast Asia, let’s say in Sri Lanka, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. If China becomes number one, you know, the power in the world, they will not just interfere in your political affairs. They will interfere in economic affairs. They will interfere in spiritual matters as well,” he told ANI.

Sangay, while speaking to ANI, said that China does not respect Buddhism and rather is trying to dilute it.

“Yeah, it’s control. They just want to control the office. They don’t care about reincarnation, spirituality. They just want to control the office. And at the same time, they want to destroy the office. For example, even the fake Panchen Lama, he spent all his years in Beijing. He should be spending his time in a monastery in Tibet studying, right? When you spend all your years in Beijing, you lose your credibility,” he said.

“So they control the office of the Panchen Lama, but at the same time, they are trying to dilute and destroy the value of the Panchen Lama’s office,” he added.

He further jested in the hyperbole, “They will say, this is not the Shankaracharya. This Shankaracharya is what I like!”

Sangay further told ANI that this is what China did with the Vatican wherein on September 22, 2018, the Chinese government and the Vatican signed a historic agreement concerning the appointment of bishops in China. Described by the parties as a “provisional agreement”, the agreement’s text has not been disclosed.

“They are already doing with the Vatican, right? They had a deal with the Vatican whereby they would appoint the bishop, and the Vatican has endorsed it. And who’s to say they will appoint the next cardinal and thereby next time they will say, hey, Pope, selection of Pope. So this is the Chinese world order we should be aware of or we should be careful about. So Chinese world order is what we experienced as Tibetans. So that’s what we always say,” he said.

He further said that China’s insistence on choosing the Dalai Lama is a global issue.

“And soon cardinals in China, similarly they will tell all the neighbouring countries as well and say, not this, not that. So this is the Chinese world order. And their tentacles are everywhere and they want to control everything. So the selection of the Dalai Lama has major geopolitical ramifications among all the neighbouring countries and around the world,” he said.

China’s government asserts it will appoint the next Dalai Lama’s successor, stating a selection method involving the golden urn and central government approval, a claim the current Dalai Lama and Tibetans reject. The 14th Dalai Lama has indicated his successor will be born in the “free world,” outside of China. (ANI)

‘Bahut Pyara Hai’: Diljit Heaps Love On Aryan Khan

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has only good things to say about superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan.

Diljit, who had earlier sung the ‘Banda’ song in Shah Rukh’s film ‘Banda’, has now collaborated with Khan Jr on the ‘Tenu Ki Pata’ track from his upcoming directorial ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’.

On Friday, Shah Rukh shared a BTS video from the making of ‘Tenu Ki Pata’. In the clip, Diljit and Aryan could be seen laughing and having a fun conversation as they record the song.

“A heartfelt thanks and big jhappi to Diljit paaji….you are too kind and sweet. Hope Aryan didn’t trouble u too much. Love u @diljitdosanjh #TenuKiPata out now,” SRK captioned the clip, expressing his gratitude to Diljit.

Here, not only did SRK show his humility, but Diljit also reflected his humility through his response.

Replying to the tweet, the ‘G.O.A.T. ‘ hitmaker heaped praise on Aryan and also expressed his love for SRK.

“Sir Baut Pyar Ji Aryan V Baut Pyara Hai.. Pheli baar Jab Studio Mai Mila Mujhey Lagaa Jaise Aapse Mil Raha Hu Jo Bilkul hee Shocking thaa mere liye.. Ke Aryan Guitar bhi Play Kar leta Hai Aur Gaata Bhi Utna Hee Acha Hai Jab mai song Dub Kar Raha Thaa He Knows Every Single Note ganey ka.. God bless him RESPECT (Aryan is really very dear..The first time I met him in the studio, it felt like I was meeting you. It was completely shocking for me…That Aryan can also play the guitar and sings just as well. When I was dubbing the song, he knows every single noteof the song…God bless him,” Diljit said in Punjabi.

Picturised on the character of Manoj Pahwa inside Aryan’s stylised world, the high-octane track seamlessly blends bold beats, infectious rhythms, and an attitude that offers a glimpse into the chaos, ambition, and edge that define the narrative.

Singer Badshah also makes an appearance in the music video, clashing with Pahwa.

The song has been composed, arranged, and produced by Ujwal Gupta, with lyrics by Kumaar. While the makers have already released two songs, including ‘Badli Si Hawa Hai’ and ‘Tu Pehli Tu Aakhri’, the third single shows a shift in the vibe by blending Dosanjh’s Punjabi essence with modern production.

The trailer for the show was released recently, offering an insight into the raw world of Bollywood. Written and directed by Aryan Khan, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ will be released on September 18 on Netflix. (ANI)

Nepal To Hold Polls On March 5, Says Prez Ramchandra Paudel

Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel on Saturday announced that elections will be held within the next six months.

Following the Gen Z protest, which claimed the lives of 51 people, injured more than 1,300, and led to the escape of thousands of prisoners, as per Al Jazeera, Paudel asked for cooperation from people for the elections to be held on March 5.

“After a difficult and hard struggle, a peaceful solution has emerged in the extremely uncomfortable, hostile and frightening situation of the country. The constitution has been preserved, the parliamentary system has been preserved and the federal democratic republic has been established. The people have got the opportunity to move forward on the path of a more advanced democracy by holding the elections to the House of Representatives within 6 months,” the statement read.

“Therefore, I sincerely appeal to all parties to cooperate in the work of pleasing the people and holding the elections to be held on March 5 by making good use of the opportunity obtained with great tact,” the statement added.

Earlier in the day, Nepali citizens gathered outside Bouddhanath Stupa on Saturday evening to hold a candle march in memory of those who lost their lives during the recent anti-corruption protests across the country.

People from all walks of life, students, monks, activists, and local residents, lit candles and stood in silence to show solidarity with the victims.

Nepali Congress MP Abhishek Pratap Shah on Saturday filed an FIR against former Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in New Baneshwor Police through the Chief District Officer, Dilkumar Tamang of Kapilvastu.

This comes after massive GenZ protests following the social media ban and alleged corruption, which prompted Oli to resign. Nepal’s interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki arrived at the civil hospital on Saturday to meet the injured Gen Z protestors. A huge press pool and supporters were seen surrounding the PM’s convoy.

The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed that 51 people have died so far in the youth-led demonstrations that erupted across Nepal on September 8. Of these, 30 were killed by gunshots, while 21 died from burns, wounds, and other injuries.

Nepal Police co-spokesperson Ramesh Thapa said the dead included one Indian national and three police personnel.

At least 36 bodies have been kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, where post-mortem examinations began on Friday. The hospital has also started releasing the bodies of the protestors after completing autopsies.

The protests, led largely by young demonstrators in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal and Birgunj, began after the government imposed a ban on major social media platforms, citing concerns over tax revenue and cybersecurity.

But now, the country is shifting towards a state of normalcy after days of violent protest, as the nationwide curfew had been ended on Saturday, a day after the former Chief Justice, Sushila Karki, was sworn in as the interim Prime Minister.

With the restrictions lifted, public transportation resumed service this morning, and long-distance buses from Kathmandu to various parts of the country have also begun their journeys.

Earlier in the day, Nepal’s interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki arrived at the civil hospital on Saturday to meet the injured Gen Z protesters. A huge press pool and supporters were seen surrounding the PM’s convoy.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Sushila Karki for assuming charge as the interim Prime Minister of Nepal, expressing confidence that she will lead the neighbouring country toward peace and stability.

“Nepal is a close friend of Bharat. I hope the Interim PM will ensure stability,” the Prime Minister said in his address in Imphal. PM Modi also noted that Sushila Karki will be the first woman PM of Nepal, emphasising that it’s a good example of women’s empowerment.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Smt. Sushila ji on assuming charge as the Prime Minister of the interim government in Nepal. I am confident that she will pave the way for peace, stability and prosperity in Nepal. Sushila ji’s taking oath as the first woman Prime Minister of Nepal is a very good example of women’s empowerment,” PM Modi said.

He also praised the youths of Nepal for keeping the “democratic values supreme,” noting the efforts of Gen Z to restore normalcy after the protests.

“Today, I will praise every person in Nepal who has kept the democratic values supreme even in such an unstable environment…For the last few days, Nepal’s youth have been working hard to clean and paint the roads of Nepal. I have also seen their pictures on social media.” PM Modi said.

He added that Nepal’s youth “positive work”, such as cleaning and painting the roads, is a clear indication of Nepal’s new rise.

“Their positive thinking and positive work are not only inspiring but also a clear indication of Nepal’s new rise. I wish Nepal all the best for its bright future,” PM Modi said.

Sushila Karki was sworn in as the interim Prime Minister of Nepal on Friday after a widespread Gen Z protest, due to frustration over political stagnation, corruption, and economic disparity, triggered by the ban of social media platforms in the country. (ANI)

Delhi’s Taj Palace Hotel Receives Hoax Bomb Threat Email

A bomb threat email was received by a hotel in the national capital on Saturday, which was later declared to be a hoax threat by the Delhi Police.

According to officials, Delhi’s Taj Palace Hotel received a bomb threat via email today. After receiving the information, the Delhi Police started investigating the matter.

However, nothing suspicious was found during the search. Officials later confirmed that the threat was a hoax.

Delhi Police said, “Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi received a bomb threat mail. Nothing was found; it has been declared a hoax”.

Spokesperson of the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi, said, “After a thorough security check, the government authorities have stated that the incident was a hoax. The safety and security of our guests and employees is of paramount importance to us, and we continue to remain vigilant.”

Further investigation into the origin of the email is underway.

Earlier on Friday, a major security scare gripped the Delhi High Court after an email threat warning of a bomb in and around the court premises led to panic and disruption of proceedings.

As the alert spread, all benches of the High Court rose immediately, and lawyers, litigants, and staff were evacuated from the premises. The sudden evacuation created scenes of chaos, with people rushing out of the court complex in fear.

Security forces, including Delhi Police and bomb disposal squads, swiftly cordoned off the area. Fire-fighter vehicles and ambulances were deployed on-site as a precautionary measure, while teams with sniffer dogs conducted a thorough search of the premises.

So far, no suspicious object has been recovered. Officials confirmed that an investigation is underway to trace the origin of the threatening email and identify those behind it.

Delhi Police sources confirmed on Friday that a warning regarding a bomb threat to the High Court was issued by an unidentified person or persons via email.

The threat email mentioned the Delhi High Court and was addressed to the staff of the High Court with the subject line, “Pakistan Tamil Nadu collude for Holy Friday blasts. 3 bombs planted in judge room/court premises. Evacuate by 2 pm.”

According to sources, the letter claimed involvement of Pakistan while warning about the placement of three bombs at the court premises. The sender’s email ID was identified as “kanimozhi.thevidiya@outlook.com”.

“The assets within the Police have been sown since 2017, for this Holy Friday. As a sample, today’s blast in your Delhi High Court will clear the doubt of previous bluffs. Judge Chamber will detonate shortly after Mid-Day Islamic Prayers,” the letter read, making controversial claims. (ANI)

Kerala Amebic Meningoencephalitis: 17 Dead Out Of 66 Infected”

Kerala Health Department has revised figures on Amebic Meningoencephalitis cases and deaths in the state. As per the latest update, so far 66 people have been infected in 2025, of whom 17 have died, according to the Directorate of Health Services (DHS).

Earlier, the Department had stated that only two deaths were confirmed as caused by the disease, while 14 were suspected. The clarification now confirms 17 fatalities. On September 12, two new cases were reported, raising this month’s total to 19 cases and seven deaths.

This correction also revises an earlier statement from September 10, when the department said that 60 cases had been reported this year, with 42 suspected to be Amebic Meningoencephalitis.

Meanwhile, leptospirosis (rat fever) continues to be the state’s deadliest infectious disease in 2025, claiming 139 lives so far, including 13 this month alone. Hepatitis A has caused 58 deaths, dengue fever 33 deaths, seasonal fevers 38 deaths, and rabies 23 deaths this year.

Kerala’s health authorities are on high alert due to multiple cases of Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM), a rare and often fatal brain infection caused by the Naegleria fowleri amoeba, commonly known as the “brain-eating amoeba.”

Kerala has reported multiple deaths and a cluster of Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM) cases across districts in August and September 2025, according to official sources.

“Given past reports from the state and high fatality associated with the disease, continuous vigilance, enhanced surveillance, environmental sampling, and strict IEC measures are essential. NCDC and the State Health Department are monitoring the situation closely, with laboratory confirmation and epidemiological investigations underway,” official sources said on Friday.

As Public Health Response, “Testing of febrile and symptomatic individuals across affected districts. Alert issued to Kozhikode Medical College and district hospitals.”

“Awareness campaigns in communities regarding risks of fresh water exposure. Environmental measures: Instructions issued for cleaning and chlorination of wells and public water sources.”

Sources said further, “Fever survey is ongoing in affected localities. Sample collection from CSF, nasal swabs, and water sources is being tested. The preventive measures (Advised to Public) are to avoid swimming/bathing in ponds, rivers, or stagnant water. Ensure proper chlorination of swimming pools and water parks. Use nose clips or cover the nose when exposed to fresh water. Clean and chlorinate household wells regularly. Seek immediate medical care for any neurological or meningeal symptoms following water exposure.” (ANI)

Pak Air Defence Couldn’t Stop A Single Indian Missile: Lt Gen Dhillon On Op Sindoor

Lt Gen KJS Dhillon (Retd) on Saturday shared his insights on India’s Operation Sindoor, highlighting key aspects of the operation, emphasising India’s strategic victory.

In an interview with ANI, Dhillon said that India struck 11 Pakistani airbases with precision on May 10, with none of India’s missiles intercepted by Pakistan’s air defence.

“…On 10th May, when we struck 11 airbases with precision, not a single missile of ours could be intercepted by Pakistani air defence – that is victory. When not a single aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force could fly out and intercept our projectiles – that is victory,” Dhillon told ANI.

He said that Pakistan’s Air Force couldn’t intercept Indian projectiles, and their DGMO begged for a ceasefire, contacting India’s DGMO at 3:35 PM on May 10, adding that Pakistan sought mediation from countries like America and Saudi Arabia for a ceasefire, contrasting India’s stance against third-party mediation.

“When Pakistan DGMO calls up our DGMO at 3.35 and 10th May and requests, literally begging for a ceasefire – that is victory. When they go running to America or to Saudi Arabia, asking for mediation and a ceasefire – that is victory. When we say that we don’t want a third-party mediation as a policy – that is victory,” said Lt Gen KJS Dhillon (Retd).

At least 26 people were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, following which India launched Operation Sindoor. India conducted precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), and also repelled Pakistani aggression and pounded its airbases.

Lt Gen KJS Dhillon (Retd) also said that Pakistan’s army chief, Asim Munir, hid himself in a bunker during Operation Sindoor and elevated himself to the position of a field marshal to avoid public scrutiny.

“The only Army chief who went into a bunker during the operations and the only Army chief who elevated himself to a field marshal just to avoid public scrutiny. Also, the only army chief to be accompanying the head of state to the SCO meeting,” the retired army official said in an exclusive interview with ANI.

Pakistani army chief Munir was elevated to the rank of a field Marshal on May 20, 13 days after India struck terror bases in Pakistan and 10 days after an agreement on cessation of hostilities was reached. Munir is the second person to be elevated to this rank, after former president Ayub Khan, and the first Army chief of independent Pakistan.

Lt Gen Dhillon added, “Only the army chief to be called by the American president for lunch. So much for democracy, so much for sporting the democratic structure. Pakistan Army is the only Army in the world which has never won a war, the only war in the world after WWII had 93,000 surrenders.”

Lt Gen Dhillon, who served as the Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DG DIA) and Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Intelligence) under the Chief of Defence Staff from March 2020 to January 2022, is currently the chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi. Omar Abdullah On Detention Of AAP MLA Mehraj Under PSA

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday criticised the use of the Public Safety Act (PSA) against AAP MLA Mehraj Malik, calling it a misuse of the law.

He said that while there may have been complaints against Malik, using such a harsh law against an elected representative was excessive.

Speaking to the reporters, Omar Abdullah said, “Law and order and policing are not part of the elected government’s responsibility… Whatever complaints might have been there about the conduct of the MLA, the law that has been used to detain him is absolutely a misuse of the law and an excessive use of force against an elected representative…”

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Mehraj Malik, representing Doda constituency of Jammu and Kashmir, was booked under provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978 (PSA) on September 8 on grounds of his activities being prejudicial to the maintenance of public order.

The Public Safety Act, a preventive detention law, allows authorities in Jammu & Kashmir to detain individuals without trial for up to two years in certain cases.

Prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Surakaksha Sanhita (BNSS) continues to be imposed in Bhalessa in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Friday, following AAP MLA Mehraj Malik’s arrest.

A day earlier, National Conference (NC) MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi reacted to the detention of AAP MLA Mehraj Malik under sections of the Public Safety Act (PSA), and said that “this law is used against terrorists or for political intimidation.”

“PSA has not been imposed on one person or an MLA; PSA has been imposed on democracy. The law of the land has been reduced to a joke under the BJP regime. You can understand the condition of democracy if an elected MLA can be detained on vague accusations under the PSA. Even if he was at fault, cases could have been registered under other laws. This law is used against terrorists or for political intimidation…, ” Mehdi said. (ANI)
