Delhi: Yamuna Continues To Flow Above Danger Mark

The Yamuna River continues to flow above the level mark of 205.33 metres on Sunday morning, following incessant rainfall.

The warning mark of the Yamuna for the city is 204.5 metres, while the danger mark is 205.33 metres.

Evacuation of people starts at 206 metres.

Drone visuals from Loha Pul and Mayur Vihar showed that the Yamuna River is flowing above the danger level following incessant rainfall.

Anticipating the possible flood situation, people residing in the low-lying areas have been shifted to safer locations as a preventive measure.

Earlier on Friday, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra took stock of the rescue and relief operations at the flood-affected areas near the Old Yamuna bridge in the national capital.

Speaking with the reporters, the Karawal Nagar MLA also highlighted the government’s efforts to rescue the trapped animals in the flood. Mishra said that over 300 cows are being shifted to the cowsheds.

“These cows were brought here from the cowshed; they were trapped in the flood. Currently, there are 300 cows here, and tonight, as well as tomorrow, all these cows will be shifted to the cowshed,” Kapil Mishra said.

“Our government officials, SDM, and doctors are present here. I am personally taking the report, and we are looking after all the arrangements for the flood-affected people who have come here. There are some more animals that are trapped, so they will be rescued,” he added.

On Friday, Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma urged people not to create unnecessary panic among citizens as he visited the Civil Lines area of Delhi amid the heavy rainfall in the national capital over the past few days.

Speaking to the reporters, Parvesh Verma said, “There is not a drop of water in the Civil Lines area. The service road adjoining the ring road is 8 to 10 feet below the road level, and rainwater is being pumped out. It is not right to say that Delhi is submerged in the Yamuna River.”

Earlier, Delhi’s Monastery Market, Yamuna Bazaar, Vasudev Ghat and nearby residential areas were inundated amid a rise in the water levels of the Yamuna River. Machines were installed in the areas around Vasudev Ghat to pump out the floodwater.

Anticipating the possible flood situation, people residing in the low-lying areas were shifted to relief camps set up near Mayur Vihar Phase-1 as a preventive measure. Due to heavy rain, the Yamuna water level had recorded an all-time high of 208.66 metres on Wednesday. (ANI)

Gurugram’s real estate boom appears to be cooling off, with demand softening in high-ticket segments, though interest remains strong in the Rs 2-4 crore range.

A report by Antique Stock Broking Limited highlights that developers are increasingly offering steep discounts to serious buyers. Reputed developers, however, are unlikely to face much challenge, the report added.

Meanwhile, in Noida, demand remains steady as the market continues to grapple with a supply shortage, the report added.

The report further added that buoyed by strong balance sheets and a focus on boosting pre-sales, competition for project acquisitions is intense. Many players vying for opportunities and pushing up valuations–particularly for redevelopment projects in MMR and those in Gurugram.

While this is likely to put pressure on profit margins, companies with a healthy pipeline of ongoing projects over the next few years could find themselves in a favourable position, the report added.

Outside the north region, July and August real estate absorption in Bengaluru was very encouraging, contrary to expectations of muted absorption on the back of IT job lay-offs.

The Conversion from footfalls were healthy. Ticket sizes below Rs 20 million are in the comfort zone.

Whereas, units with higher ticket sizes greater than Rs 20 million are also witnessing healthy absorption, but with some inducements, such as relaxed payment plans, etc., are the order of the day. Pune too has been witnessing strong absorption in Hinjewadi and Hadapsar micro-markets, the report added.

The report further added that macroeconomic factors like interest rates are falling (the current repo rate is 5.5 per cent, with another 25 bps cut expected). Low inflation (1.55 per cent in July), income tax relief for earnings up to Rs 12 lakh per year, a good monsoon, and a strong first-quarter GDP growth of 7.8 per cent have all been positive signs, especially for the real estate sector. However, trade uncertainties with the US and layoffs in IT companies pose some risks, the report added. (ANI)

BJP’s Altaf Thakur Condemns Vandalism At Srinagar’s Hazratbal Shrine

BJP leader Altaf Thakur on Saturday condemned the vandalisation of a stone plaque at the Hazratbal shrine in Jammu and Kashmir’s (J-K) Srinagar, calling it a “well-thought-out conspiracy” against the nation’s identity.

“Since yesterday, an attempt has been made to create a controversy. The Ashoka symbol is the symbol of our country, and we will not allow anyone to break this symbol. It is the identity of an Indian. Even if we go for Hajj, this symbol is there on the passport. This symbol is there on your Aadhar card. If someone had an objection to this symbol, he would have directly gone to the Chairman or the Waqf Board,” Thakur said at a press conference.

Earlier, a video of the alleged vandalism also went viral on social media.

“The path they chose, the way they behaved, is on the same lines as Osama bin Laden.BJP will not tolerate this under any circumstances…This was a well-thought-out conspiracy,” Thakur said.

The Hazratbal Shrine is a revered religious site in Srinagar, housing the holy relic of the Prophet Mohammad.

On Friday, BJP leader Darakshan Andrabi strongly condemned the incident, describing it as “very unfortunate.”

Speaking to ANI, Andrabi said, “This incident is very unfortunate. Tarnishing the national emblem is a terrorist attack, and the attackers are the goons of a political party. These people destroyed Kashmir earlier as well, and now they have openly come inside the Dargah Sharif.”

She added that a Waqf administrator present at the site narrowly escaped an attack, adding that the mob not only insulted the national emblem but also “damaged the dignity of the dargah.”

Andrabi said, “Our administrator had a narrow escape. The mob attacked him as well… This mob has committed a huge crime by tarnishing the national emblem. They have damaged the dignity of the dargah, and once they are identified, they will be banned from entering the dargah for life, and an FIR will be filed against them.” (ANI)

India Beat China 7-0 In Men’s Asia Cup Rajgir Bihar 2025

The Indian Men’s Hockey Team enjoyed a comfortable 7-0 win over China, in their third Super 4s game at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium, in the Men’s Asia Cup Rajgir Bihar 2025 on Saturday.

Abhishek (46′, 50′), Shilanand Lakra (4′), Dilpreet Singh (7′), Mandeep Singh (18′), Raj Kumar Pal (37′) and Sukhjeet Singh (39′) were the goal scorers for India. India asserted complete dominance right from the first whistle and have now reached the final of the prestigious tournament where they will face defending champions Korea on Sunday, according to a press release from Hockey India.

India started strong with two crucial goals in the first quarter. In the fourth minute, Harmanpreet Singh delivered an aerial ball to Jarmanpreet Singh on the right flank, who collected it perfectly and crossed to Shilanand Lakra (4′), who was waiting on the far post to score the opening goal. Three minutes later, India received the first penalty corner as Captain Harmanpreet Singh’s dragflick was stopped in front of the goal, but Dilpreet Singh (7′) was quick to pounce on the rebound to extend the lead.

The trend followed in the second quarter as India added another goal with their relentless attacking, limiting China to their own half. India had a great opportunity in the 17th minute as Abhishek provided a great cross into the circle for Mandeep Singh, but he couldn’t make contact. In the very next minute, India received another penalty corner, which was converted by the home side. Harmanpreet Singh’s dragflick was stopped by the first rusher, however, the ball went to Vivek Sagar Prasad who took a shot on the rebound that was saved by the keeper but Mandeep Singh (18′) was quick to react as he finished the loose ball into the net.

With a sizable lead in hand, India continued to pressure China and scored two more goals in the third quarter. In the 37th minute, Shilanand Lakra did well to provide a cross into the circle for Dilpreet Singh who deflected the ball over everyone for Raj Kumar Pal (37′) to tap the ball into the net with ease. Moments later, Dilpreet Singh continued his great performance with a pass into the middle of the circle from the baseline to an unmarked Sukhjeet Singh (39′) who found the back of the net with a powerful finish to claim India’s fifth goal.

Despite the comfortable position, India refused to back down and looked for more goals to add to their tally. In the very first minute of the final quarter, Sukhjeet Singh made an incredible solo run down the middle to beat multiple defenders before passing the ball to Abhishek (46′), catching the goalkeeper off his line, as the forward finished the ball into the empty net. With 10 minutes left on the clock, Abhishek (50′) registered another goal to his name, this time with a back-handed shot past the goalkeeper. From attack to defence, India completely controlled the narrative and will now gear up for the final against Korea with an eye on the coveted trophy.

India will play Korea next in the final on Sunday, September 7, at 7:30 PM IST, according to the Hockey India press release.

Kazakhstan beat Chinese Taipei 6-4 in the 7th/8th place match, Korea beat Malaysia 4-3 to reach the final. (ANI)

Ameesha Throwback Pics As She Recalls Working In ‘ Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’

Loved watching ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ ? If yes, then the recent post of actor Ameesha Patel will definitely leave you nostalgic.

On Saturday, marking the birthday of veteran director Rakesh Roshan, Ameesha took a stroll down memory lane and shared a string of pictures from the 2000s.

The pictures showed Ameesha, Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan celebrating before they kick-started the shoot of the film.

In the pictures, we can see Hrithik pouring champagne into a glass. Ameesha is seen feeding cake to Rakesh Roshan.

Recalling the particular moment, Ameesha wrote, ” @rakesh_roshan9 –these are pictures from my home in South Mumbai the day after I signed “KAHO NAA PYAAR HAIN ” n we opened champagne to celebrate before starting our shoot schedule!! From then to now u have been a beacon of inspiration with ur hardwork, discipline, professionalism, organisation n ur true resilience in the face of all adversity n challenges! U have been the best I cud learn from n was a privelege to be ur discovery !!! Wishing u the happpppiest bday n many many bumper years to follow !! Your SONIA forever (a couple of heart emojis).”

‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ was released in 2000 and became a massive hit. Hrithik played a dual role in the movie, portraying Rohit, a singer, and his lookalike Raj, in a gripping tale of love, loss, and revenge. Ameesha played his love interest, Sonia.

In a previous interview with ANI, Rakesh Roshan said that making ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ was a challenge for him as he had done ‘Khudgarz’, ‘Khoon Bhari Maang’, followed by ‘Kishen Kanhaiya’, ‘King Uncle’, ‘Karan Arjun’ and ‘Koyla’ but never any romantic film.

“I made all different kinds of genres but never romantic. So, I said let me make a romantic film because people are telling me you are not romantic. Then I thought about what to make, and this idea came. So I made the film as a filmmaker” he said.

He continued, “If Hrithik wouldn’t have been my son, I would have taken some other newcomer because I wanted a newcomer for that film. It was not that I had to launch my son, so that pressure was there to make a romantic film. No. It wasn’t like that. This romantic film just came at the right time, when Hrithik was 24. The subject required a new boy and a new girl, and so I took Hrithik, and I took a new girl. It was a challenge for me so that I was making a romantic film for the first time, I should make it very beautifully to look at.”

Earlier on Saturday, Hrithik also penned a heartfelt birthday wish for dad Rakesh Roshan.

“Happy birthday to you papa. Thank you for building this resilience inside me. When life gets hard, it feels like home. Nothing can and nothing will shake the soldier in me. Over the years I have learnt to see the opposite as well , and I know you have too. The discovery of worthiness within , the simplicity of just being, the collapse of external validation,” he posted.

“Today I walk in balance , as do you. Never complete , but no longer empty. I would have never reached this place of equanimity, this place of wisdom, without first traversing the hard path. Thank you for building that soldier in me. For being the best teacher one could ask for. I stand proud ( and strong) , cause I am your son .I love you,” Hrithik expressed. (ANI)
