Renu Bhatia Slams Badshah Over ‘Tateeree’, Says Insult To Haryana’s Daughters ‘Unforgivable’

State Women’s Commission chairperson Renu Bhatia has reacted strongly to the controversy surrounding rapper-singer Badshah and his latest song ‘Tateeree’, calling his actions “unforgivable.”

Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, aka Badshah, recently found himself at the centre of a controversy over ‘Tateeree’ after objections were raised regarding its allegedly objectionable lyrics.

Speaking to the media, Bhatia alleged that the language used in the song is an “insult to the daughters of the state” and added that the singer has been asked to appear before the commission.

“What Badshah has done is unforgivable. Insulting the daughters of Haryana in this way and using such foul language against them is completely intolerable,” Bhatia told reporters.

“We have summoned him on March 13, and he should appear. If he continues to evade the process, we won’t let him work. Especially in Haryana, the Women’s Commission will not allow him to hold a single programme,” she added.

On Saturday, Badshah responded to the growing backlash in an Instagram video, saying:“Main khud Haryana se hoon. Jo log mujhe jaante hai, woh jaante hai ki meri boli, mera khan-paan, mera rehen-sehen, meri pehchaan Haryana se hai. Main ek proud Haryanvi hoon. Mera kabhi aisa koi iraada nahi tha ki main Haryana ke kisi bachon, kisi aurat ke bare mei aise baat kahun.(I am from Haryana. Those who know me know that my language, my food, my lifestyle, and my identity are from Haryana. I am a very proud Haryanvi. I never had any intention of speaking inappropriately about any child or woman of Haryana.”

He concluded the video by apologising for hurting people’s sentiments: “I hope that you will consider me as a son of Haryana, as your own son, and forgive me,” Badshah said.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against Badshah, and a process has been initiated to issue a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him.

A notice has also been issued, asking the singer-rapper to appear before the police, while teams have been continuously carrying out raids to arrest him, the police confirmed in a tweet. (ANI)

Iran Crisis: Over 1,300 Killed And 100,000 Displaced As Humanitarian Toll Mounts

The humanitarian crisis within the Islamic Republic has reached a critical stage as the current hostilities persist, with significant casualties and mass displacement reported across the country.

More than a week into the conflict, the humanitarian toll in Iran continues to rise. According to Al Jazeera, the scale of the devastation is mounting, with official figures revealing that “over 1,300 people have been killed” since the violence began.

The intensification of the fighting is such that “around 100,000 have been displaced”, as residents are “forcing many to flee their homes” in search of safety. This mass movement of people has overwhelmed relief efforts, as the UN refugee agency reports a “surge in urgent calls for assistance” to address the growing needs of the affected population.

Amidst this deteriorating humanitarian situation, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have announced that the Israeli Air Force (IAF) conducted targeted strikes against multiple Iranian military assets in the capital city. In a post on X, the military official account stated: “STRUCK: Several Fuel Storage Complexes Belonging to the IRGC in Tehran.”

The operation, which was “guided by IDF intelligence,” targeted specific locations that the military identified as hubs for the distribution of resources to various armed units. The IDF noted that the “IAF struck these complexes, where the Iranian terrorist regime would distribute fuel to multiple military entities in Iran.”

Regarding the impact of the mission, the military asserted that “the strike significantly deepens the damage to the military infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime.” Accompanying the announcement was an illustrative graphic identifying a “fuel storage facility in Tehran used by the military forces of the Iranian terror regime”, highlighting the strategic nature of the targets selected during the operation.

In parallel with these military strikes, US President Donald Trump on Saturday (US local time) claimed that the United States had wiped out the entire leadership in Iran and called the actions getting rid of a major ‘cancer’ from the face of the earth.

When asked whether the United States was responsible for the bombing of an elementary girls’ school in Iran, Trump flat out denied the allegations and instead called Iran for bombing the school, citing the inaccuracy of Iranian weapons as a reason.

Trump said, “No, I don’t believe so. Based on what I’ve seen that was done by Iran. We think it was done by Iran because they’re very inaccurate, as you know, with their munitions. They have no accuracy whatsoever. It was done by Iran.” He made the remarks aboard Air Force One en route to Miami.

“We’re winning the war by a lot. We’ve decimated their whole evil empire. It’ll continue, I’m sure, for a little while. The war itself is going unbelievably. It’s as good as it can be,” Trump said. As the conflict marks a week, Trump said that the US had accomplished much more than anyone thought was possible.

He detailed the extent of the damage, stating: “We’ve wiped out their (Iranian) navy, 44 ships. We’ve wiped out their air force, every plane. We’ve wiped out most of their missiles. You see the missiles aren’t coming much anymore. We’ve also hit their manufacturing areas where they make the missiles very hard. Their drone capacity is way down and we’ve hurt them where it hurts, including about every form of leadership you can have we’ve wiped out.”

Despite the aggressive tone of the military campaign, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, who was also present on Air Force One, told the media that a deal with Iran remains possible.

He said, “I think there is. I think that’s going to be up to the President, that’s what I think. But they didn’t seem to be very amenable in that first set of negotiations they told me and Jared, we’re not going to give you diplomatically what you couldn’t take militarily. So you know I think they’re going to need a change of attitude.”

The escalation has triggered deep international concern, particularly from the United Kingdom. Member of Parliament Tom Tugendhat told ANI, “A lot of people are very concerned at what’s going on, and not just about what’s going on in Iran, but what’s happening in the United Arab Emirates, in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar.”

“India has about nine million citizens in the region; we have about 300,000 citizens there, so there’s a huge concern,” he added. “The challenge of energy prices is something that we all face. Resolving this challenge as quickly as possible is good not just for the global economy, but actually good for families and good for homes across the whole world.”

The developments follow the joint US-Israel military strike on February 28 on Iranian territory which resulted in the death of its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior figures, prompting a fierce response from Tehran.

In response, Iran retaliated by launching ballistic missiles and drones at US assets and allies across the region, including Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, further widening the conflict in West Asia and heightening risks for civilians and expatriates alike. More Than 2,000 Police Personnel To Be Deployed In Ahmedabad Ahead Of T20 WC Final

Ahead of the Indian cricket team face off with New Zealand in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday city police has put in place safety arrangements for the high-octane event.

Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), Sector-1, Ahmedabad City, Neeraj Kumar Badgujar told ANI, “More than 121 police officers and more than 2,000 police personnel will be deployed. Special barricades have been installed at gate numbers 1 and 2 where there is a large crowd, and police officers have been deployed so that people do not face any problems. There are more than 300 CCTV cameras throughout the stadium, which will monitor the match arrangements. Security arrangements have also been completed for VVIP security. Traffic police will also be deployed in large numbers on the roads.”

Going into the final, India are chasing a few firsts – first to defend a T20 World Cup title, first host team to win the T20 World Cup and the first to three T20 World Cup championships. For New Zealand, the biggest challenges will be how to keep the star-studded Indian batting line-up relatively quiet and how to deal with Jasprit Bumrah’s unerring line and length.

India and New Zealand took contrasting paths to the final; they entered the contest on the back of strong batting performances in the semi-final. New Zealand lost to South Africa in the group stage and to England in the Super Eights, but were dominant in the final four. After restricting the Proteas to 169/8, New Zealand raced to a nine-wicket win in 12.5 overs, courtesy of a stunning 33-ball hundred by Finn Allen, the fastest in T20 World Cups.

Meanwhile, for India, who were perfect in the group stage, the only blip was the loss to South Africa in the opening Super Eight contest. The semi-final against England was a high-scoring thriller, with India piling on 253/7 and England falling just seven runs short.

In their head-to-head clashes, history may favour New Zealand, but form is with India. The Black Caps have not lost a match to India in the T20 World Cup, having scored victories in 2007, 2016 and 2021. However, the host nation were dominant in their recent T20I series in India, with a comfortable 4-1 win.

‘Decimated Their Whole Evil Empire’: Trump Says US Operations In Iran To Continue Briefly

US President Donald Trump on Saturday (US local time) claimed that the United States had wiped out the entire leadership in Iran and called the actions getting rid of a major ‘cancer’ off the face of the earth.

When asked whether the United States was responsible for the bombing of an elementary girls’ school in Iran, Trump flat out denied the allegations and instead called Iran for bombing the school slating inaccuracy of Iranian weapons as a reason.

Their drone capacity is way down and we’ve hurt them where it hurts, including about every form of leadership you can have we’ve wiped out.”

On being asked about the earlier projected six-week timeline, Trump said, “I never project time, whatever it takes. But the (Iranian) military is almost nonexistent. We could hit their military itself very hard but maybe we will, maybe we won’t, we haven’t made that determination.”

Trump further added, “We’ve hit the manufacturing very hard. They’re at about nine per cent of what they sent out in the first two days and we think that’s because they don’t have that much. We’ve also knocked out about 70 per cent of the rockets of the launchers. The launchers are a big deal, very hard to get, very expensive.”

When asked if there is still hope to do a deal with Iran, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, who was also present on Air Force One, told the media that it is possible.

He said, “I think there is. I think that’s going to be up to the President, that’s what I think. But they didn’t seem to be very amenable in that first set of negotiations. You heard what I said. They said we have the inalienable right to enrich. They bragged about having 60 percent enriched fuel enough for 11 bombs. And they told me and Jared, we’re not going to give you diplomatically what you couldn’t take militarily. So you know I think they’re going to need a change of attitude.”

Debris From Aerial Interception Falls On Vehicle In Dubai’s Al Barsha Area, Pak Driver Killed

Dubai Media Office has confirmed that debris from an aerial interception fell onto a vehicle in the Al Barsha area, resulting in the death of a Pakistani driver.

In a post on X, it also shared that authorities had confirmed a minor incident on the facade of a tower in Dubai Marina, with no injuries reported.

As conflict deepens in West Asia and the Gulf, the IRNA claimed on Sunday, citing the IRGC, that a refinery was hit in Haifa.

It said in a post on X, “IRGC : The Haifa refinery was struck by Kheibarshekan missiles.”

Al Jazeera Breaking reported that air strikes targeted an oil storage facility in Tehran. It also mentioned that Hezbollah said it launched missiles at Haifa naval base and that it targeted Kiryat Shmona with rocket fire.

Citing IDF sources, the Jerusalem Post reported that on Saturday night, the Israeli Air Force had attacked significant oil resources in the Tehran region of Iran. As per the sources, the oil resources attacked are directly connected to Iran’s military industrial complex.

Earlier, IRNA said in a post on X on Saturday, “Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei: Intelligence from Iran’s armed forces indicates that certain regional states’ territory is being made available to the adversary, both overtly and covertly, and is being utilized to launch aggression against Iran.”

It added, “Retaliatory strikes against these positions will persist. This policy is active and enjoys full consensus between the government and all branches of the establishment.”

The conflict in West Asia has now brought into its fold several countries of the Gulf region.

These developments come in the wake of escalating tensions after a joint US-Israel military strike on February 28 on Iranian territory resulted in the death of its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior figures, prompting a fierce response from Tehran.

T20 World Cup 2026: MS Dhoni Arrives In Ahmedabad Ahead Of India Vs New Zealand Final

Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has arrived in Ahmedabad on Sunday morning as the Indian team is set to clash with New Zealand in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The 44-year-old witnessed India’s semi-final victory over England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and may come to watch the final match as Men in Blue will be defending their title.

Dhoni came to watch the semi-final match in Mumbai with his wife Sakshi, along with many other celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Anil Kapoor. From the cricket community, the wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, who led India to the 2024 T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy 2025, also witnessed India beating England in a close contest.

India won their first-ever ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title under MS Dhoni’s leadership in 2007, when India defeated Pakistan in the final to claim the inaugural trophy.

Now, the onus is on the Suryakumar Yadav-led side to repeat the same and become the first team to win the trophy in front of the home crowd. The Black Caps are also eyeing their maiden title after finishing as runners-up in the 2021 edition.

Going into the final, India are chasing a few firsts – first to defend a T20 World Cup title, first host team to win the T20 World Cup and the first to three T20 World Cup championships. SRK Praises Anil Kapoor’s ‘Subedaar’, Says He ‘Thoroughly Enjoyed’ The Film

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently shared his thoughts on the action drama ‘Subedaar,’ which features veteran actor Anil Kapoor in the lead role.

Taking to his social media platform X, Shah Rukh Khan praised the film and praised Anil Kapoor’s performance, highlighting the actor’s dedication to his craft. The ‘Pathaan’ actor wrote that he “thoroughly enjoyed” the film and commended Kapoor for delivering a restrained yet impactful performance.

In his post, Shah Rukh Khan said that audiences can always expect Anil Kapoor to give his best to any role he takes on.

His post read: “Thoroughly enjoyed #Subedaar. You can always count on @AnilKapoor to give it his all – a restrained yet effective performance. His dedication to the craft is inspiring, and the action was so good!!!”

The action drama has also received praise from several people in the film industry. Earlier on Saturday, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap took to his Instagram to pen a long note, sharing how ‘Subedaar’ was clearly “shot on anamorphic for the big screen.”

“SUBEDAAR on @primevideoin should have been a theatrical. Would have loved to experience it in cinemas, it’s clearly shot on anamorphic for the big screen, designed for big screen. @sureshtriveni_ creates an immersive world of Bundelkhand/Chambal, complete with its patriarchy and entitlement, where women are as patriarchal as men, and those who aren’t, they fight like a man in this male-dominated hinterland of the Beehad that once gave rise to Phoolan Devi,” wrote the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ director.

‘Subedaar’ follows the story of “Subedaar Arjun Maurya,” a retired soldier who returns home and tries to adjust to civilian life. Set in Madhya Pradesh, the film shows his fight against corruption in his area while also dealing with a difficult relationship with his daughter Shyama, played by Radhika Madan. As problems grow around him, Arjun relies on his army training to protect his family.

Apart from Anil Kapoor and Radhikka Madan, the film also features Khushbu Sundar, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Mona Singh, and Faisal Malik in important roles.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, ‘Subedaar’ was released on Amazon Prime Video on March 5. (ANI)

Nepal Elections: Balen Shah Defeats Oli With Wide Margin, To Be Next PM

Former Rapper and Mayor of Kathmandu Balendra Shah (Balen) has won the parliamentary election from Jhapa-5, defeating his arch rival, former Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the Election Commission announced.

With this, Balen has confirmed his Prime Ministership as he makes his way to the lower house of the parliament.

As per the Election Commission, Balen secured 68,348 votes while former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli trailed behind with 18,734 votes.

With this win, the Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to become the next Prime Minister as the party has swept the election, securing a comfortable majority.

As per the results of the Election Commission, the RSP, formed about four years ago, has won 59 seats under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) category while maintaining a lead in 62 constituencies. The RSP is on course to secure an outright majority. Party leaders have repeatedly reassured the public that there is no internal dispute over the premiership.

First-ranking vice-chairperson DP Aryal said the party’s top leaders, including Rabi Lamichhane and Balen Shah, were the reason voters supported the party, and the parliamentary leader and future Prime Minister will be Balen Shah.

The combined tally of direct and proportional seats exceeds the 138-seat majority threshold in the 275-member House of Representatives.

The government formation process is expected to begin shortly, with swearing-in ceremonies for the new MPs. The outgoing Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed readiness to hand over authority respectfully once the new mandate is formalised.

The RSP leadership has repeatedly stressed transparency and fidelity to voter expectations, ensuring that Balen Shah’s premiership reflects both party decisions and public mandate.

In 2022, a structural engineer with a signature pair of black rectangular sunglasses and a history in the underground rap scene did the unthinkable. Shah dismantled the established political machinery of Nepal to become the Mayor of Kathmandu.

Running as an independent under the symbol of a walking stick, Balen secured 61,767 votes, comfortably outstripping veterans Sirjana Singh of Nepali Congress, who fell back with 38,341 votes, while CPN-UML candidate Keshav Sthapit, also the former Mayor of the capital, got 38,117 votes.

Now, just four years later, the 35-year-old is no longer just a local phenomenon; he is poised to become one of the youngest Prime Ministers in the nation’s history. (ANI)
