The BJP has 41 MLAs in the 90-member House, in which the majority mark is set at 46. The government will be backed by six independent MLAs.

Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday resigned from the state Chief Minister hours after the BJP alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) broke. Agnipath scheme Rahul Gandhi Amit Shah

Shah contributes Rs 2000 To BJP’s Party Fund

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday contributed Rs 2,000 to the party fund of the Bharatiya Janata Party and also urged the public to “donate for nation building”.

In a post on X, Amit Shah said, “Every person’s support is crucial to building a Viksit Bharat. Under the leadership of Modi Ji, the BJP has been working towards making Bharat a developed nation. Let us all stand shoulder-to-shoulder and make the #DonationForNationBuilding a nationwide campaign using the NaMo App.”

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also donated Rs 2,000 to the BJP party fund.

The call to donate money comes after the Supreme Court delivered a unanimous verdict in February, striking down the Electoral Bonds scheme as unconstitutional.

While the opposition parties hailed the Apex Court decision, the ruling BJP said that the scheme was brought in for transparency in electoral funding.

The CJI, while reading out his judgement, said that the Supreme Court holds that anonymous electoral bonds are violative of Right to Information and Article 19(1)(a)

.The Supreme Court said that information about corporate contributors through Electoral Bonds must be disclosed as the donations by companies are purely for quid pro quo purposes.

The purpose of curbing black money is not a sufficient justification to anonymise the identities of donors and the details of the contributions in the Electoral Bonds scheme, the SC said while striking down the Centre’s Electoral Bonds scheme.

An electoral bond is an instrument in the nature of a promissory note or bearer bond that can be purchased by any individual, company, firm or association of persons, provided the person or body is a citizen of India or incorporated or established in India. The bonds are issued specifically for the purpose of contributing funds to political parties. (ANI)

“Just spoke to Rameshwaram Cafe founder Sri Nagaraj about the blast in his restaurant. He informed me that the blast occurred because of a bag that was left by a customer and not any cylinder explosion. One of their employees is injured. It’s seems to be a clear case of bomb blast. Himachal Pradesh Assembly

Chaos In HP Assembly; 15 BJP MLAs Suspended

As many as 15 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs of Himachal Pradesh were suspended from the House by Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Wednesday allegedly for creating ruckus in his chamber.

The 15 BJP MLA’s who were suspended from the House include Jai Ram Thakur, Vipin Parmar, Randhir Sharma, Hans Raj, Vinod Kumar, Janak Raj, Balbir Verma, Lokinder Kumar, Trilok Jamwal, Surinder Shourie, Puran Chand, Dalip Thakur, Inder Singb Gandhi, Ranbir Nikka and Deep Raj.

The BJP legislators were suspended by the Speaker after the State Parliamentary party affairs minister Harshwardhan Chauhan moved a proposal recommending the expulsion of the MLAs from the house.

The Himachal Pradesh Assembly was adjourned till 12 pm amid disruptions, with opposition members staging protests in the well of the House.

The BJP however has dubbed this a move by the Congress to prevent its government from toppling ahead of the Budget session.

BJP’s winning Rajya Sabha candidate Harsh Mahajan said, “Congress Government is toppling. So such attempts are being made – to suspend them. These are delay tactics and are followed in every Vidhan Sabha…Congress has dismantled from here. All the attempts they make now will fail. BJP will form the Government here…Nine MLAs (who cross-voted) are in my support…”

In fresh trouble for the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, Vikramaditya Singh, a state minister and the son of the former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday stepped down from his position.

“All I would like to say is that under the current circumstances, it is not correct for me to continue as a part of the government. So, I have decided that I am resigning from the Council of Ministers. I am resigning as a minister,” Singh said.

The trouble for the government comes at a time when the Assembly’s annual Budget session is going on and ahead of voting on the state Finance Bill in the Assembly.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur who is an MP from the state says the Congress government had not fulfilled any of its promises.

“Congress formed govt in Himachal Pradesh by giving big and fake promises. After the formation of the govt, none of those promises were fulfilled. People used to ask questions when Congress MLAs went to their constituencies…they had no answers to give…no work was done, Congress’ own MLAs were facing a lot of difficulties …why did Congress MLAs abandon their own party within 14 months, what was the compulsion? one of the reasons is that they gave ticket to a non-Himachali person” Anurag Thakur said.

The BJP is pressing for division voting on the passing of the Budget after it is introduced in the assembly. If Congress is unable to see the Budget through the government in the state will fall.

The Congress has 40 MLAs while the BJP has 25 in the 68-member state assembly. The remaining three seats are held by independents. (ANI)

'Pakistan Zindabad' slogans

BJP Calls For Kharge’s Apology On Alleged Pro-Pak Slogan Incident

Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia hit out at the Congress party on Wednesday over alleged ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans outside the Karnataka assembly.

Bhatia alleged that the grand old party’s ‘DNA’ has become anti-national while calling the incident an ‘insult to India’s democracy’.

“After the results of the Rajya Sabha elections came out, Congress workers outside the Karnataka assembly raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans while celebrating Congress MP-elect Syed Naseer Hussain’s win. This is a very worrying incident, this is an insult to India’s democracy,” Bhatia said while addressing a press conference in Delhi on Wednesday.

“Today, every citizen is asking, whenever India’s democracy marks a win, why is that the Congress always remembers Pakistan? There is also nothing wrong in saying that there is Pakistan’s DNA in Congress,” the BJP leader said.

He further called for an apology from Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge for the incident.

“Congress’ DNA has become anti-national. Earlier, slogans like Bharat will break into pieces, Insha Allah, Insha Allah, were raised at a public event attended by Rahul Gandhi. Don’t you think Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge should apologise?” he said.

The matter has caused a political storm in the state, leading to a FIR and protest by BJP cadre outside Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.

However, Congress earlier rejected these claims, saying its workers were only raising slogans for Hussain and not what the BJP was claiming.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that voice samples have been sent to FSL and culprits will be punished.

“We have sent the voice report to the FSL, if it is true that somebody has raised the slogan ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, that person will be punished seriously.”

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said, “We are very serious about it. If it is an anti-national slogan, we will not tolerate it. We will take strict actions, once it is confirmed by the FSL team. FIR has already registered yesterday. We have to identify the person from the FSL report and if it is true, we will take action against him.”

Karnataka Assembly Speaker UT Khader said that if the claims were proven by forensic analysis, the person behind them would be punished. The speaker said he would call for a complete probe.

As per the complaint filed by the Karnataka BJP, it was alleged that after the returning officer declared that Hussain was elected to the Rajya Sabha, at around 7 pm on Tuesday, his supporters, who had gathered at the premises of the Vidhana Soudha “at the instance of Hussain, suddenly shouted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans in a loud manner while cheering for Hussain.” (ANI)
