‘Red Fort or BRICS, Modi’s Speeches Carry A Punch, Self-Belief’

Mayank Rai, a fresh post-graduate preparing for research work in Deen Dayal Upadhyay University, Gorakhpur, says PM speeches always deliver a progressive message. His views:

Be it his speech from the Red Fort on August 15, where he called upon the youth to be partners in his dream of a developed India and laying a road map for the next 50 years for the country, or his views from any global forum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the best orators who delivers a forward-looking and progressive vision for the world in general and India in particular.

Remember his line which reflects his confidence – be it in himself or the 140 crore Indians – I promised change in 2014, performance in 2019, will return with a report card in 2024 along with his guarantee that India will become the third largest economy in the world in his next term. I am too young to go back into the history of speeches of other prime ministers from the ramparts of Red Fort on Independence Days, but I bet none of the PM might have `roared’ with such confidence and have set `achievable’ targets for themselves and the country for the future.

One of the key highlights, according to me, was his address to the nation as `Parivar-jano’…or My Family Members… This is one of the most adorable and unique parts of any of his speeches – that he comes up with something new that wins hearts! He went ahead with `we have reformed, performed and transformed to be here today in the last nine years’. As true countrymen and Indians, we need to try our best to incorporate the message given by the PM and perform our best to achieve the target set by Modiji for the next few years.

Modi’s recent speech at the BRICS forum where he called upon the member countries to be the voice of the global south was also ahead of the times where he reaffirmed India’s commitment to support Africa and the world in its developmental journey under agenda 2063. What is most noticeable and affirmative in his speeches from global platforms his his concern for counter-terrorism, environment conservation, climate action, cyber-security, food and health security and resilient supply chains. I am certain he will live up to his oratory in the upcoming G20 Summit too.

Modi’s down to earth attitude was also visible and praised all over the world when he extended his wishes on the successful landing on Chandrayaan 3 on the moon when he said that India is on the moon but the success belongs to entire humanity. The entire country cherished his thoughts when he attributed the success to the world and went ahead to congratulate the world. He not only termed the landing of the Chandrayaan to be a human centric approach said that one family and one future is resonating across the globe.

No other country or world leader has shared his/her success with the world or has shared the credentials with the world as Modi did on the record feet that India has achieved and set new standards for the world to follow. No doubt that we, as youth, have a leader (not as a PM) who not only sets achievable goals but also stands alongside to ensure assistance in achieving them.
