Deepika Chosen To Present BAFTA Awards

Actor Deepika Padukone is currently on cloud nine as she has been chosen as a presenter at the upcoming BAFTA Awards.

The list also includes former England football star David Beckham, singer Dua Lipa, Cate Blanchett, Adjoa Andoh of ‘Bridgerton’ fame, ‘Wonka’ Oompa Loompa Hugh Grant and ‘Emily in Paris’s’ Lily Collins.

Taking to Instagram, Deepika shared a post on her stories that she captioned, “Gratitude.”

The 77th BAFTA Film Awards ceremony, set to take place Sunday, February 18, at London’s Royal Festival Hall, which serves as the ceremony’s venue for the second year in a row after several years at Royal Albert Hall. In India, the awards will be streaming live on Lionsgate Play.

Attendees will include ‘Saltburn’ star Barry Keoghan, ‘Maestro’ actors Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan, ‘Oppenheimer’ lead Cillian Murphy and directors Greta Gerwig, Christopher Nolan, Celine Song and Yorgos Lanthimos, as per Variety.

Last year, Deepika made India proud as she was one of the presenters at the Oscars 2023.

On the film front, Deepika was recently seen in the aerial action thriller film ‘Fighter’ opposite Hrithik Roshan.

Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film also starred Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles and received good responses from the audience.

She will be next seen in the sci-fi action thriller film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ alongside south actor Prabhas.

Helmed by Nag Ashwin the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and will hit the theatres on May 9, 2024. (ANI)

Sonam To Host Beckham At Their Mumbai Residence

Former England football team captain David Beckham is currently in India as UNICEF’s goodwill ambassador and he is likely to meet members of the Indian film fraternity soon.

As per a source, couple Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja will host David Beckham at their residence in Mumbai.

“David Beckham is in India for his UNICEF commitment as a Global Ambassador and he will be meeting Sonam and Anand during his trip to Mumbai. The power couple will be hosting David when he is in Mumbai and have invited the crème de la crème icons of the city for a dinner at their residence,” the source said.

The source also revealed that it would be a private affair.

“It is a very private affair. We are hearing only 25 people have made the cut for this grand soiree,” the source shared.

Beckham is also expected to mark his presence during the first semifinal of the ongoing World Cup between India and New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium.

Beckham also paid a visit to Gujarat to understand the state of the action and contribute towards advocating for child rights and gender equality.

Sharing pictures from his visit, Beckham wrote, “An incredibly special few days with @unicef here in Gujarat 🇮🇳 It’s a great privilege to see first-hand the work Unicef is doing on the ground to support children and their families. The energy and innovation I have seen here has been so inspiring and I loved hearing the children’s stories and their hopes and dreams for the future. David, Victoria Celebrated 24th Wedding Anniv

Star couple David Beckham and Victoria Beckham have completed 24 years of their marriage.

On Tuesday, the duo took to their respective social media handles and wished each other in special ways.
David shared a heartwarming throwback photo portraying their younger selves, accompanied by a heartfelt tribute to his “best wife, mummy, and drinking partner.” https://www.instagram.com/p/CuQ-pKtoGMC/embed

“On this day 4.7.99.. 24 years and counting..To the best wife , mummy & drinking partner ( most of the time ) Happy Anniversary love u so much,” David captioned the post.

The pair married in 1999 and now share four children: sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, as well as daughter Harper.

The two first met at a soccer match, as per People.

David recounted the meeting on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “She came to a football match — soccer match — and I said hi from across the room and that was it,” he recalled. “I thought I’d missed my chance, and then a week later she turned up at another football match.”

Their second meeting was more involved, as David shared with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “We talked for about an hour in the players’ lounge and then she actually got the train up that day, so she wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have,” he revealed.

Victoria said she was taken by David’s family-oriented nature. “While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He’s not even in the first team at this stage — you are the famous one.),” she wrote to her younger self in Vogue. “And he has such a cute smile.
