Don’t Want Votes From People With Pakistani Mindset: BJP’s CT Ravi

Giving clarification on senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa’s controversial statement, BJP’s National General Secretary CT Ravi on Wednesday, said there are many “patriots among Muslims” who vote for BJP, but the party doesn’t want any vote from the people having “Pakistani mindset”.

“There are many patriots among Muslims who vote for BJP. But some of them who support Pakistan and have divisive ideology vote for Congress and Janata Dal. We don’t want the votes of those who have a Pakistani mindset,” said CT Ravi.
“People who are like Abdul Kalam and Shishunala Sharifa vote for BJP. We bring government schemes keeping ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ in mind and not on the basis of caste-like former CM Siddaramaiah did earlier. He brought many of the government schemes for Muslims only,” he added further.

CT Ravi further claimed that where Rahul Gandhi campaigns, Congress loses. “Rahul Gandhi campaigned in UP and Congress lost there. But wherever PM Modi campaigns, BJP wins and it will continue to win.”

CT Ravi reached old Mysore today to campaign for BJP candidate R Ashok.

Eshwarappa, who announced his decision to step away from electoral politics earlier, said CT Ravi is a “good leader” but a decision on the CM’s face is outside his domain.

He added that he doesn’t have the authority to decide the party’s chief ministerial candidate.

“CT Ravi is a good leader. He is doing very good work in Chikkamagaluru. I did not say anything about him being the next chief minister. I have no authority to make such a statement,” Eshwarappa told ANI over the phone on Tuesday.

However, he said that being a prominent leader from the Vokkaliga community, CT Ravi has all the qualities to become the future chief minister of the state.

According to reports, addressing party workers at a meeting in Nidughatta near Chikkamagaluru, Eshwapappa said he hoped CT Ravi would be elected MLA by a huge margin and become the chief minister. His alleged remark came a day after CT Ravi, himself, expressed his desire to become the chief minister. (ANI)

Hizbul Chief Guiding Cadres Of 13 Pak-Based Kashmir-Centric Terror Outfits: NIA

Self-styled supreme commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Syed Salahudeen, is guiding and instructing the cadres of the banned terror group as well as activists of United Jihad Council (UJC)– a conglomerate of around 13 Pakistan-based Kashmir centric terror outfits, National Investigation Agency (NIA) said.

As per the anti-terror agency, Salahudeen alias Mohammed Yusuf Shah has been guiding and instructing these activists of the UJC from Pakistan.
The Central probe agency said that Salahudeen is the chairman of the UJC which is also known as Muttahida Jihad Council (MJC)– an umbrella organisation of terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed that operate out of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The 77-year-old terrorist Salahudeen, who had fled to Pakistan in 1993, was designated as an individual terrorist by India in October 2020, said the NIA, adding “the designated terrorist continues to operate from Pakistan.”

The NIA made the revelation after its fresh action against Salahudeen’s two sons– Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel. Earlier on Monday, the agency attached two immovable properties of Yusuf and Shakeel that are located in Kashmir’s Soibugh area in Budgam district and Nursing Garh’s Mohalla Ram Bagh area in Srinagar district. The properties have been attached under section 33(1) of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967.

Both Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel are lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since their arrest in October 2017 and August 2018. They were chargesheeted on April 20, 2018, and November 20, 2018, respectively.

“Yusuf and Shakeel had been receiving funds from abroad from the associates of their father and overground workers of Hizbul Mujahideen,” said the NIA, adding “besides instigating and operationalising militant activities in India, primarily in Kashmir valley, Syed Salahudeen has been raising funds and routing finances to India through trade routes, Hawala channels, and international money transfer channels for furthering the terrorist activities of Hizbul Mujahideen cadres.”

The property attachment of Salahuddin’s sons is based on NIA’s investigation into a terror conspiracy case registered by the agency in 2011 naming Yusuf and Shakeel among other accused.

The NIA launched investigations in November 2011 into the criminal conspiracy to raise, collect and provide funds to commit terrorist acts and distribute funds among the terror groups and their sympathizers in Jammu and Kashmir for the purpose of committing terrorist acts.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police had initially registered a case in January 2011 and the NIA subsequently took over the case. Chargesheets as well as Supplementary Chargesheets were filed against eight accused in the case, including in 2011 and 2018.

In a money laundering probe related to terror funding case involving Salahudeen, the Enforcement Directorate has also alleged that Jammu Kashmir Affectees Relief Trust (JKART) was a front through which Hizbul Mujahideen received Rs 80 crore between 2004 and 2011 to carry out terror activities in India.

Salahuddin was declared a specially designated global terrorist by the US Department of State in June 2017 on charges that he “vowed to block any peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict, threatened to train more Kashmiri suicide bombers, and vowed to turn the Kashmir Valley into a graveyard for Indian forces. “

Born Mohammed Yusuf Shah, Salahudeen changed his name after taking over as head of the militant outfit in the late eighties. Hizbul Mujahideen is one of the several homegrown militant groups that have for decades been fighting for an independent Kashmir or a merger with Pakistan.

Prior to joining the Hizbul Mujahideen, Salahudeen unsuccessfully contested in the 1987 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections from the Amirakadal constituency. Salahudeen has been vocal in his anti-India stand. He has also time and again mentioned Pakistan’s role in the Kashmir unrest. (ANI)

Pakistan Drone Spotted Near Intl Border In Punjab

Border Security Force personnel intercepted a Pakistani drone near Bhariyal village of Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, officials said on Thursday.

The drone spotted at the Bhariyal village post of the BSF, was observed flying inside Indian territory for five minutes before it was intercepted with illumination bombs.
“The drone kept flying inside the Indian border for 5 minutes, during which 3 rounds of firing were done by BSF, and an Ilu bomb was also fired, after which the drone flew back to Pakistan,” BSF said.

In a similar incident, BSF personnel intercepted a Pakistani drone near the Dhanoe Kalan in the Amritsar district of the State and recovered packets of narcotics, an official statement said on April 16.

The incident took place on April 15 at around 8.22 pm when the BSF troops heard the buzzing sound of the suspected flying object (drone) entering from Pakistan into Indian territory.

Earlier on Thursday, Security forces tracked and shot down a drone after it crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in the Beri Pattan area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri.

Five loaded AK magazines, some cash, and a sealed packet were recovered from the drone, added the PRO.

BSF is mandated to guard the 3,323 km India-Pakistan International Border.

On March 28, BSF shot down a Pakistani drone in Amritsar soon after it entered Indian territory carrying a consignment of contraband items, the paramilitary force said.

The drone was shot down in the Amritsar when the BSF troops heard the buzzing sound of the flying object. It was recovered the next day morning during a search operation conducted by the border guarding force. The drone entered Indian territory from Pakistan and it was detected in the area of Border Outpost Rajatal in the Amritsar Sector, said the BSF.

Earlier in February, the BSF troops also recovered six big packets of heroin weighing 6.275 kg, contained inside a bag in a wheat field of Toor village in the Amritsar district. (ANI)

Baloch Liberation Army Sets Fire To 6 Chinese Mobile Towers on CPEC

Balochistan Liberation Front (BLA) claimed to have set fire to six mobile phone towers of Pakistani and Chinese companies in Tehsil Dasht of District Kech of Balochistan province.

BLA also attacked the mobile phone towers of the Pakistani mobile phone company ‘Ufone’ and the Chinese company ‘Zong’ in Dasht Kambel, Jan Muhammad Bazar, Print Bazar, and Zarin Bug areas of Kech, Balochistan.

BLA claimed to have burnt and destroyed all the machinery in those towers.

Similarly, another tower of Ufone on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route in Dasht, of Kech and the towers of Zong Company in Sungai Bazaar of Kech were attacked and all the machinery was set on fire.

Pakistan and China are laying a network of mobile phone towers in different areas of Balochistan to facilitate their spies and soldiers. The towers are also used for surveillance of the Baloch people.

Mobile Phone Towers were installed to protect the CPEC route. By propagating these projects as part of the development of Baloch people and Balochistan, the administration is misleading the locals to prolong their occupation in the area and loot the region and the people of their resources.

Two years ago also, in June 2021, The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed that its fighters set on fire the installations of telecommunication companies at Margat’s Chokhobi Wadh area of Quetta Balochistan and captured six of its staff members.

The spokesperson of the pro-freedom resistance organisation, Azad Baloch, also named the captured workers as Gul Shah Khan, Abdul Aadi and Mehraj residents of Quetta, Zhob and Qila Saifullah respectively, and Muhammad Yusuf, resident of Quetta, Amanat Ali, resident of Gujrat, Punjab, Rehmatullah, resident of Qila Saifullah.

Back in 2021, the BLA said that various telecommunication companies in occupied Balochistan have been repeatedly warned not to act as facilitators in the expansionist ambitions of the imperialist powers (Pakistan and China).

China, in collaboration with Pakistan, set up a telecommunications network and has been using other telecom companies, including Hawaii, and Subcon companies, (Netcom, Exeleron, ZTE) to spy on and trace the movement of people in Balochistan.

All of these projects are being funded through a well-organized project under the “Universal Service Fund”.

China has already to some extent implemented its economic and military ambitions against the will of the Baloch nation in the coastal city of Gwadar in occupied Balochistan, where the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project has been threatened by Baloch freedom fighters, due to which China and Pakistan are constantly trying new methods for Baloch genocide.

Telecom companies are installing mobile towers in uninhabited hilly areas of Balochistan at the behest of the Pakistani military. Under the guise of these telecom companies, China and Pakistan exchange secret information about Baloch freedom fighters and help the Pakistan army to intensify the ongoing military aggression and the abductions of Baloch youths in occupied Balochistan. Elections In Pak Less Likely After Anti-Terror Ops Announced

Amid a debate in political circles over the conduct of elections in Punjab in mid-May, the top civil and military leadership on Friday vowed to re-launch the National Action Plan (NAP) within 15 days to crush militants, Dawn reported.

Without directly blaming the previous PTI government for the resurgence of terrorism in tribal districts along the border with Afghanistan, top civil and military leadership agreed to initiate new multi-pronged and comprehensive operations and combined efforts on the diplomatic, security, economic and social fronts for the elimination of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
A committee formed for the purpose would present its recommendations within two weeks to implement the policy and draw its parameters, Dawn reported.

The decisions were made at the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber, Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, chief ministers of four provinces and federal cabinet members attended the meeting.

The NSC’s decision to launch a massive operation may further shrink the chances of elections in Punjab, two days after the government had categorically refused to implement the court order regarding May 14 polls, Dawn reported.

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, while talking to Dawn, said that holding elections in Punjab was not on the agenda of the NSC meeting and that’s why the issue was not discussed in the civil and military leadership’s huddle. She, however, confirmed that a fresh NAP-like operation against militancy would start within 15 days.

Earlier, two similar plans had been launched in the country, one in 2002 and the second in 2014, Dawn reported.

An official press release issued by the PM Office said, “NSC approved a multi-pronged comprehensive operation with the support of the government and the nation to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country with a new resolve, determination and valor”.

“The committee proclaimed that the recent wave of terrorism was the result of the soft corner and the absence of a well-thought-out policy against the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which was declared a terrorist organization but against the public expectations and wishes, under the previous policy terrorists were allowed to return without any hindrance. In the name of confidence building, dangerous terrorists of the TTP were released from jails,” Dawn reported.

“It was noted that due to the return of the dangerous terrorists and support of different terrorist organisations to them from Afghanistan, peace and stability, which was the result of innumerable sacrifices and continuous efforts, was affected,” the official announcement said. (ANI)

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Friday expressed his concern about the government’s actions, stating that they are making a mockery of Pakistan abroad.

“The dangerous ruling buffoons don’t realise the damage they are doing to Pak’s image abroad by sham FIRs & absurd sedition charges against a former PM for using terms ‘Dirty Harry’ & ‘psycopath’! They are making a mockery of Pakistan,” tweeted Khan.
He also warned that foreign investors may be getting a troubling message after the Pakistani government’s decision to not accept the Supreme Court’s decision in the Punjab polls delay case.

“Also, what msg is being sent to foreign investors when govt itself is not accepting SC decisions? Investors need security of contracts & that means faith in judicial system. What confidence can they have when govt itself casting aside SC orders? This happens in a banana republic,” he tweeted.

Khan’s comments came after the federal government demanded that Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial step down, claiming that his position had become “controversial” after Justice Athar Minallah’s note in the case.

Justice Minallah stated that the Supreme Court’s suo motu notice over the delay in the announcement of provincial assembly elections was dismissed by a majority 4-3 ruling.

A three-member SC bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, and Justice Munib Akhtar had announced the verdict on the PTI’s petition challenging the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) move to postpone the Punjab Assembly polls till October 8.

This ruling was rejected by the government, who labeled it a “minority verdict”, with the National Assembly also passing a resolution against the top court.

The government’s refusal to accept the Supreme Court’s decision has raised concerns about the state of country’s democracy and judicial system.

The PTI chief also claimed that the sedition cases filed against him and the imprisonment of senior party leader Ali Amin Gandapur are attempts to undermine their party’s ability to contest elections.

“Sedition cases against me – this is 144th case against me- and our senior ldr Ali Amin along with his imprisonment, are simply attempts to undermine our Party’s ability to fight elections. This is all part of London Plan in which Nawaz Sharif was given assurances that PTI would be crushed before elections through fake cases & imprisonment of its leadership,” he tweeted.

Imran Khan has been pushing for assembly elections in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provinces as part of a campaign to force an early general election that he has waged since being forced from office a year ago after losing a vote of confidence, reported The Express Tribune.

However, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has rejected Imran Khan’s call for an early general election and his government had backed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) delay in the votes in the two provinces to Oct 8.

The commission cited a lack of resources and the government agreed, saying it was not possible to organise the provincial elections while the country was struggling with an economic crisis and with a general election due around early October anyway.

But the Supreme Court ruled that the delay was illegal and voting in the two provinces should be held between April 30 and May 15, reported The Express Tribune. (ANI)

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is achieving new heights of development and the world is looking up to the country.

On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Kaushmabi Mahotsav and also laid the foundation stone of various development projects.
Addressing the people in Kaushambi during the event, CM Yogi said, “The government of India is giving free rations to 80 crore people for the last three years, whereas people in Pakistan are struggling for food. Today, the world is looking up to India.”

The Chief Minister thanked Union Minister Amit Shah for giving an international platform to the traditional values of the region through ‘Kaushambi Mahotsav’.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the youth of the country is getting the inspiration to take part in sporting activities, live a healthy life and contribute to the development of the country,” he said.

CM Yogi added, “Today, development projects worth more than Rs 612 crores have been inaugurated by the Home Minister. Kaushambi has very deep historic connections. It was one of the 16 Mahajanpads of that time. It is also believed that Lord Ram also spent his one night here.”

He further said that the state’s development schemes are reaching every village, every poor, farmer and youth without any discrimination.

“Our government is laying special focus on sports as well. We have set the target to make a playground in every village and a stadium in every district. PM Modi regularly says ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’. Every panchayat, Nagar Nikay, and Janpad should celebrate its foundation day. Today, I am able to witness the same level of excitement and enthusiasm in the public, that I had witnessed during the Kaushambi Mahotsav in 2018,” he said.

CM Yogi further added, “A lot of work has been done in the direction of connectivity. I noticed that the Ganga Expressway passes from here only (Kaushambi) towards Prayagraj. Now, the distance from Meerut to Prayagraj can be covered in less than eight hours. Similarly, one can also go to Delhi from Kaushambi in just eight hours.

The Chief Minister also stated that the preparations for the 2025 Kumbh in Prayagraj should start from now onwards, and said that the people and the officials should be involved and contribute towards it. (ANI)

Indian Leadership Has Unhealthy Obsession With Pak: Islamabad

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s “Frankenstein monster” comment has said that these remarks reflect the Indian leadership’s “unhealthy obsession” with Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar made the remarks during a media briefing on Wednesday.
In response to a question on her Indian counterpart’s remarks on Pakistan’s current situation, economy and terrorism, Khar said, “Having failed in their efforts to malign and isolate Pakistan at the diplomatic front, Indian leaders have now assumed the role of armchair pundits. While focusing on Pakistan they very conveniently overlook the developments in their own country where the social fabric is being ripped apart by the rise of an extremist Hindutva ideology.”

When asked whether Pakistan responded to the Indian letter to Pakistan asking to start negotiations for the review of Indus Water Treaty, Khar said, “I can confirm that Pakistan has responded to the Indian letter on the Indus Waters Treaty. Pakistan remains committed to the implementation of the Treaty in good faith and to ensure its water security.”

On being asked why Pakistan consistently boycotts the Democracy Summit in spite of being a functional democracy, Khar said, “We have already released a statement. I would like to reiterate that Pakistan as a vibrant democracy is deeply committed to democratic values and generations of Pakistanis have upheld their faith in democracy, human rights and fundamental freedoms.”

In response to the same question, she said, “We have also said that Pakistan has not been part of the summit process that began in 2021, which required countries to make certain national commitments. We believe that the summit process is now at an advanced stage. Therefore, Pakistan would engage bilaterally with the organisers and the co-hosts of the summit to promote and strengthen democratic principles and values, and work towards advancing human rights and fight against corruption.”

On the statement made by British Home Secretary about Pakistani men, Hina Rabbani Khar said that Pakistan finds these remarks as dangerous, discriminatory, and xenophobic.

“Her statement paints a highly misleading picture, signalling the intent to target and treat British Pakistanis differently. In making these uncalled-for remarks, the Home Secretary has erroneously branded criminal behaviour of some individuals as representation of the entire community. She fails to take note of the systemic racism and ghettoisation of communities and omits to recognize the tremendous cultural, economic and political contributions that British Pakistanis continue to make in British society,” the Pakistani minister concluded. Suicide Bomber Kills 9 Security Personnel In Pakistan’s Bolan

At least nine personnel of the Balochistan Constabulary were killed, while nine others sustained injuries in a suicide bomb attack in Bolan, reported Geo News.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kachhi, Mehmood Notezai, said that the preliminary evidence suggests it was a suicide attack, however, the exact nature of the blast could be ascertained after the investigations.

He said that a bomb disposal team reached the site of the incident and the area is being searched after the explosion.

According to the police, the blast occurred near the Kambri bridge area of Bolan and the injured are being shifted to Divisional Headquarters Hospital, reported Geo News.

Pakistan is facing violence from Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an offshoot of the Afghan Taliban movement that is ideologically aligned with the Afghan branch but draws its leaders from within Pakistan.

The TTP has claimed responsibility for many attacks in the latest spate of terrorism in Pakistan; a TTP splinter group said it had carried out the January 30 mosque attack in Peshawar that killed 101 worshippers, most of them policemen, reported Foreign Policy.

More than 8,000 members of Pakistan’s security forces have lost their lives in terrorist incidents since 2000. In 2014, the TTP attacked Peshawar’s Army Public School, killing 141 people, including 132 children of military officers and soldiers.

The January 30 attack targeted policemen. Both attacks appeared intended to demoralize the Pakistani military and law enforcement and to dissuade Pakistan’s leaders from going to battle with the TTP.

Periodic negotiations between the Pakistani government and terrorist groups in recent years have only convinced the terrorists that the authorities lack the resolve for a sustained fight.

Several peace deals and cease-fire agreements between Islamabad and the TTP have broken down. Last November, the TTP terminated the latest cease-fire, negotiated last June, and threatened new attacks across Pakistan in retaliation for the security service’s actions. (ANI)

India has slammed Pakistan on the issue of religious freedom of minorities at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

Using its right to reply, India’s representative Seema Pujani slammed her Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar saying, “No religious minority can freely live or practice its religion in Pakistan today. The Ahmadiya community continues to be persecuted by the state for simply practising their faith.”

Responding to the statement delivered by Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar, Pujani said, “Pakistan’s representative has once again chosen to misuse this august forum for its malicious propaganda against India.”

The Indian Representative also shed light on the issue of enforced disappearances.

“In the last decade, Pakistan’s own commission of inquiry on enforced disappearances has received 8463 complaints. The Baloch people have borne the brunt of this cruel policy. Students, doctors, engineers, teachers and community leaders are regularly disappeared by the state, never to return back,” said Pujani.

She also highlighted the plight of Christians in the country and how they are mistreated in the country.

“Equally worse is the treatment of the Christian community. It is frequently targeted through draconian blasphemy laws. State institutions officially reserve sanitation jobs for Christians,” said Pujani.

She also raised concern over a “predatory state and an apathetic judiciary,” regarding the conversion of underage minority girls.

“Underage girls from the community are converted to Islam abetted by a predatory state and an apathetic judiciary. Hindu and Sikh communities face similar issues of frequent attack on their places of worship and forced conversion of their underage girls. The state’s crackdown on those who wish to raise their voice against any of these heinous policies is also incomparable. A bill which proposes a five-year jail term for anyone who scandalizes or ridicules the military or the judiciary is currently on the table in Pakistan’s parliament,” said Pujani.

The Indian diplomat also slammed Pakistan for supporting terrorism, saying, that Pakistan’s “security agencies have nurtured and sheltered Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar for decades”.

“When it is not entirely focused on suppressing its own population, Pakistan actively lends its energies to aid, host and abet international terrorists. It has the unique distinction of hosting the most number of UNSC-designated terrorists and terror organizations. Allow me to recall that Osama bin Laden lived next to Pakistan’s premier military academy. Its security agencies have nurtured and sheltered Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azar for decades.
